Convenient location!

The location is very convenient and the room is clean. There is no elevator which is the only concern if you room is upstairs and you have heavy luggages.

Staff was friendly and provided excellent service.

Location is nearby the newer part of the city of Caracassonne within walking distance to some cafes and restaurants but be aware that many of them close early. it is about a 15 minutes walk to the remparts city.

There was an issue with my room reservation but the management made changes and refunded me promptly and provided us free breakfast.

Part of the hallway had a strong bad odor.

The bath had no curtain so taking a shower while standing was a challenge.

Carpet in the room was dirty.

Although the staff was very kind, friendly and accommodating I would probably look elsewhere to stay if I were to visit Carcassonne again because the amenities were just too outdated for my preferences.

When staff member called head office to ask what should be done about refund for bed bugs, only gave me one nights money back even though I booked 2 and had to find a different hotel the night of because their front desk closes at 10pm

So I had to pay for a night that I didn’t even use

The hotel was perfectly located close to the old walled town and was nice and clean with all the basic facilities you could need. The owner was nice and friendly but spoke no English which wasn't a problem for me as I speak enough French but might be a problem for some people although I didn't really need to ask any detailed questions.

Not a hotel. It is a backpacker hostel

Expectation was not high. We just wanted basic and easy to find from the station for just one night. Sadly the experience was poor due to the very poor attitude of the owner of this property. Our arrival at 9 pm was one hour prior to reception closing but no one their . Pressing the buzzer left for guests did not get a response. No phone connection. Other guests tried to help find some one.after 30 minutes some one appeared. Not great as per previous comments about an unattended reception we did feel let down and a bit stressed after a long day of travel. The owneee came and knocked on our room door at 1030pm not to apologise but to point the finger in an aggressive and angry saying we are on holiday and they are working so we must wait and not complain that the reception was not attended !!! ? Anyone understand this logic to a paying guest ? Well overall this place is NOT a hotel it is a backpacker hostel. So should not be listed on hotels.com

Best position, 2 min into town and 10min walk to castle. Clean and comfortable room that it totally soundproof. Friendly helpful staff even though language was limited they always tried to help me.

Really unhappy customer

We waited outside of Hotel Central in the wind and rain for half an hour pressing the bell and phoning the hotel at the same time. There was no-on there and the place was in darkness. We then had to go in search for another hotel at 6.30 in the evening. I had paid in full for Hotel Central and as yet, I have not been reimbursed or had an apology from either the Hotel or Hotels.com. I have spoken to Rob at Hotels.com still no response from either!! This unfortunate incident occurred last Sunday, 21 January!

Hotel Central, central to your stay

Very happy with price, service and comfort.
Had to share the toilet, but this was no problem, didn't wait once to use it.
Great location, at heart of the centre, but secluded from noise of bars.
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room is my only complaint!
Breakfast excluded from price of room, but good quality happy to pay for it - great start to the day!

This hotel is a gem

My room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with thoughtful inclusions such as a hairdryer, desk and chair, and bathroom toiletries. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and carried my luggage to my food for me. They provided a breakfast for those who wanted it. The location was central, an easy walk from the train station and to the town centre, the tourist office and the canal du midi.

Lovely stay, rooms were nice and clean. Our hosts were nice, limited English but thats fine. 5mins walk to city centre and a solid 20mins to the castle. Area was safe. Just maybe one little issue, aircon was not working well the night we stayed but overall still a nice place to stay for the night.

No Air conditioning

We stayed 2 nights. Room was hot when we got in and it took us moments to discover there was a thermostat on the wall that controlled Nothing. It was not connected to anything. No light showed on the dial, no unit in the room.
There was a vent near the ceiling that spewed lukewarm air and was part of a central system, which must have only been a fan.
Lots and lots of stairs, so if you have mobility issues do not book here. Decor was tired.

Breakfast was simple but tasty. No complaints there.

A very welcoming little hotel!

Hotel Central provides great location at reasonable prices. The owners are so friendly and helpful with tourist maps, information, restaurant tips, etc and treat you like family.
We enjoyed the traditional hotel styling - you can choose to have a room with a ensuite WC/shower or a ensuite shower with shared WC.
While the rooms could use a freshening up with the furniture/decor, they are clean and serve the purpose.
We walked everywhere, but you could also use the public buses for the old city.

Convenient location, free parking, good price

Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly, with great restaurant recommendations. It was really, really hot in the south of France while we were there, so we appreciated the air conditioning (though it was nominal A/C - it looked like it was working and was at least cooler than the outside). Onsite breakfast was a great option for busy travelers. Hotel is a little worn, but has character and is clean. We had a 4 person room with an en suite bathroom, which was great.

A friendly hotel in a close location.

Friendly hotel with nice staff, very polite. The room was fairly small, a little dated and without a view from the window, but was clean and comfortable. The hotel was very central and a good price. Breakfast was good, with freshly baked bread that tasted great. I'd recommend a stay here, there are other rooms that are larger with a view, although that would be reflected in the price. A good stay.

Carcassonne Convenience at the Central

Hotel is very convenient for access to the train station, airport bus stop (about 10 minutes walk). Also handy for access to the Medieval City and the modern shopping area.(20 mins walk to City 5 mins to shopping area). Hotel staff were v. welcoming friendly and helpful - genuinely nice.

We stayed on the 4th floor in a twin room overlooking a small courtyard. The window had roller blind shutters and air con which seemed to be set to a fixed comfortable level. On the Friday night there was a lot of shouting from the courtyard (not guests at the hotel) who lived there. This went long into the early hours so on the second night we had the window closed. By Sunday the courtyard was quiet though - all of this was out of the hotels control so maybe it was just weekend revelry?

The room was spacious but with few hangers to hang clothes up, we kept our stuff folded up - shelf space but no wardrobe.

The continental buffet was nice - croissants /chocolate au pain, cereals, yoghurts, juice, coffee etc.

Lovely restaurant next door to the hotel, very popular with locals - found ourselves going back again there as the food and service was excellent.

Good selection of Tourist info in the hotel - owners / staff were all very friendly and helpful. Bag storage no problem. Nothing too much trouble.

The hotel wi-fi worked well - the log in details were on a small piece of paper on the tv. I would definitely recommend the hotel as a convenient and friendly place to stay.

Very central for Carcassonne town and La Cite

Very welcoming, friendly and accommodating management; helpful if you can speak French but easy to make yourself understood and friend I was with could speak a little French which made things much easier; hotel very clean; breakfast was traditional continental breakfast; felt very safe within the hotel and surroundings; a very stress-free stay. The only downside was that the room did not have a separate wardrobe or chest of drawers (it did have a hanging rail which was adequate); this would be ok if only staying for a night or two but if staying for a week it would be welcome to have somewhere to put things without being in/out of your suitcase all the time. The room did not have tea/kettle facilities, although there was a dispensing kiosk next to reception for tea, coffee, chocolate, water and sweets. All in all, a basic, clean hotel very centrally placed for the town and walled city. Train station is also within easy walking distance with connections to Toulouse and Narbonne with ongoing connections to Bordeaux, Marseille etc.

Time to relax great location friendly service

A total gem of a hotel , Central to everything I needed main square 2 mins train station 5 mins castle 10/15 mins with a brisk walk. As I work in the same business I know people can be very fussy about types of accommodation. I was delighted with mines its was basic that's what I wanted & I needed somewhere that was safe/secure to leave my belongings. Claire & Didier my hosts were so helpful, always smiling & Claire even helped me with my French which I truly enjoyed. The ratings for the hotel were 2* but it was defanately a 5* expiernce!!!!! Merci! Merci! Merci! I will be returning to carcassonne nex sept & will be staying here without a doubt.

Excellent Hotel and Location

Basic hotel, but has everything you need. I was travelling with my cousin and her two daughters, aged 12 and 14. Our room was clean and had one double bed and two single beds. My cousin and youngest used the double, which I and the eldest used the single beds. Room had a tv and access to wifi, as well as an ensuite bathroom. There were extra toilets on each floor as well. Hotel was clean and centrally located. We arrived on a Friday evening, and were able to park right outside the hotel as parking is free at the weekend. We didn't avail of the breakfast at the hotel, as we wanted to buy food from the Saturday market, which was a five minute stroll away. The staff at the hotel don't speak a lot of English, but enough to understand when my French failed me, as I am still learning the language. Staff directed us to the square where the Saturday market takes place on the Friday evening as there was a festival on, which meant we had entertainment while we ate at one of the restaurants on the square. Staff were helpful and pleasant. On visiting Carcassone, we regretted only staying one night, two nights would have been better.

The hotel is really well located, close to the shopping/eating areas of the newer city, and a short walk to the old city. There is good parking outside the hotel. The honest hotel!

Hotellet har bare to stjerner, så man forventer ikke alt for mye, men rommet var rent og luktet godt, men det var slitt. Badet var rent og luktet godt men var veldig slitt, men sengene var myke og gode og TV'n viste bare franske kanaler, frokosten tok vi på cafe da jeg har cøliaki og ikke forventet tilpassning. Men verten var superhyggelig, så alt i alt et helt greit sted å sove!

Écriteau minuscule pour informer qu'il faut faire couler l'eau de la douche treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees longtemps avant d'avoir de l'eau chaude! Hygiène douteuse, tâches sur les serviettes de toilette. Toiles d'araignée dans les couloirs.... reste douteux.
Contact froid avec une des deux personnes à l'accueil.

Hostel a precio de hotel

Yo no llamaría a este establecimiento hotel, sino hostel, aunque el precio es similar al de un hotel, así que es caro para lo que ofrece. La habitación es diminuta, no podíamos ni abrir la puerta, no hay armario ni mesillas, tampoco teníamos mando de la tele.
El baño tenía una ducha de esas portátiles con un agujero en el techo... hay que llevarse gel y champú ya que con un sobrecito de esos no alcanza... las toallas estaban sucias todas, sin excepción. Algo positivo: hay secador.
El colchón de la cama insufrible... han pasado días y todavía me duele la espalda.
Hay que llegar antes de las 7 porque cierran de 7 de la tarde a 8 de la mañana.
No hay ascensor y el edificio parece que se va a derrumbar.
El check out es a las 10.30.
Lo único positivo son los empleados(cuando los había).

Personnel très accueillant et prévenant.

Cet hôtel est simple mais propre et confortable, et le personnel réserve un très bon accueil.
De plus il est très bien situé, étant à dix minutes à pieds de la gare et proche du centre ville. La cité est aussi largement accessible à pieds depuis l'hôtel !

Climatisation général beaucoup trop froide soufflée directement sur le lit, très désagréable. Literie de mauvaise qualité, couverture fine désagréable. Petit déjeuner pauvre fait avec des croissant et du pain réchauffé au four très décevant. Ça ne vaut pas le prix. Les gérants sont agréables mais malheureusement un rapport qualité/prix très mauvais.

Carcassonne est une ville incontournable à visiter surtout la cité médiévale,
son canal du midi pour faire une promenade en bateau les alentours aussi sont à voir le chateau lastour la grotte du limousi et un gouffre et bien d'autres choses

Personnel très peu serviable ; le petit déjeuner est avec des produits basiques et il n'y a pas eu de réduction accordée pour un enfant de 3 ans...
Manquant de matériel informatique, une simple demande de consultation d'un mail pour un motif administratif important nous a été refusé, et de façon pas très aimable (le personnel pourrait s'améliorer sur ce point).
Un vieille boite de chambre à air a été retrouvé sous notre lit... c'est dire si le ménage n'avait pas été fait depuis quelque temps ; et indique ainsi le niveau de propreté de la moquette.

La habitación estaba limpia pero es muy simple y muy pequeña para dos personas (piso 3). El colchón no era muy bueno; blando.
El baño ok (limpio).
Se oía mucho el tráfico temprano en la mañana.
No nos gustó que la recepción del hotel cerrara temprano en la tarde ( hacia las 7) y no había personal en el edificio durante la noche. Te dan un código para entrar y dejan un número de emergencia. Pero al parecer es algo común en ciertos hoteles en Francia.

Hotel simples. Existem quartos com ou sem banheiro privativo. Optamos por um com banheiro. A suíte é pequena, mas possui o mínimo necessário para uma estadia razoavelmente confortável. O banheiro chama atenção pelo tamanho, extremamente pequeno. A limpeza do quarto mostrou-se satisfatória. Wi-fi gratuito e de boa qualidade.
