The staff and the location were great. The room had a terrace and a wonderful view. The bathroom had an odor around the toilet area. It was a little small and the door opened onto the toilet. The walls of the shower had mold in the grout which could have been cleaned up with a little bleach spray. The hotel was in a good spot with restaurants out the door and to the right which made it convenient. Out the door and to the left the shop area was located.

The property is worn and tired. The in-room baths have mold in the tubs and showers. The bedspreads are thin and old. Likely due to its proximity to the harbor, the rooms are damp and a bit musty. People using the thermal bath did not observe the mandatory cap requirement nor was the quiet/relaxing atmosphere enforced. The staff was pleasant enough but can't overcome the lack of upkeep on the property. I stayed here 15 years ago and found it lovely. This stay.will be my last.

The hotel is in an excellent location within walking distance to ferries ,shopping ,restaurants, and beach. The views are beautiful from the hotel. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful!The thermal outdoor pool and the indoor hot pool and jets are wonderful! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. We visit Ischia every year and always stay at the Aragona.

Aragona Palace in Ischia was honestly such a vibe. The location could not be better, right on the harbor, so every morning I woke up to ferries, pastel buildings, and the ocean just doing its thing. My room had a balcony, which meant I got to people watch like a pro while sipping wine and pretending I was an Italian movie star (reality: sweatpants, leftover pizza). The real highlight though? The thermal pools. They have one indoors that is all calm, quiet, and spa like, perfect for soaking away the I walked too much today pain. Then there is the outdoor pool, which is basically heaven: warm mineral water, sunshine, and that smug feeling of yes, I am thriving. Breakfast was classic Italian, pastries, fruit, coffee that could power a small car. The staff were super friendly, always ready to help, and honestly made the whole stay even better. Overall, it was the perfect mix of relaxation, fun, and why don’t I live here forever?

We are just back from visit to Ischia and our stay at the Aragona Palace Hotel was the perfect base for our first, but not last, visit to this beautiful island. The hotel is ideally situated within easy walking distance of local amenities, such as restaurants, shopping and the beach, and transport links to get around the island. The hotel itself has a full range of facilities, with great food and ever helpful and friendly staff. Our room was clean and comfortable with a a view over the harbour.

The location was very close to the ferries and close to many shops. We loved the outdoor thermal pool and patios! It was were very nice and relaxing. Staff was professional and helpful. Martina at front desk was always smiling and happy to see us:)
The buffet breakfast lacked a variety of fresh fruit, otherwise it had a good selection of croissants, cakes and breads!

The staff was very accommodating. Due to a train strike they helped us book bus tickets to get back to Rome. We had a very early departure from the hotel and was provided a take away breakfast plus lunch bag. Which was greatly appreciated. Thank you Aragona front desk and server staff.

Beds are hard, but can probably be fixed with pillow toppers, cushions are thin, extras were required. Painting and simple maintenance are required, could be a great hotel with attention to detail.

I booked this hotel a few minutes before I checked in to the hotel due to complications at another hotel.. When I got to the hotel I was so tired and just wanted to rest. The staff at the Front desk was wonderful and welcoming.They checked me in very fast and even upgraded my room and then helped me with my luggage..They were so kind and I was overwhelmed by their thoughtfulness..I slept wonderfully in the clean, comfortable bed, and even was able to enjoy the view of the harbor from my balcony as the room had a harbor view..The next morning I had a very nice breakfast and again the front desk was so helpful and kind..They printed my ferry ticket for me and put it in a plastic cover. And when I checked out they held my luggage for me until the afternoon when my ferry left. I could have used the pool for the day if weather permitted but it was a little rainy that day..I did have drinks at their bar over looking the Marina and again the staff there was so kind and understood my terrible Italian .
When I return I will stay there again and they do have another hotel down the street with thermal waters and beautiful pools..If the staff at that hotel is anything like the staff here I would like to stay there as well..I felt safe and comfortable and appreciated for my business..I have to say that staying in this place that just happened by chance was absolutely my best stay in all of Italy.. Everyone was professional and more importantly kind and patient..Thank You for a great rest.

This hotel had everything anyone could ever ask for. We requested a room on the harbor with a balcony and it was fabulous watching all the boats come in and out every day. I also spent some time at the spa and I received the best services there. The staff at the front desk was always ready to help with anything you needed. It was a fabulous stay and we will be back again. The only thing I would suggest is that there should be more breakfast choices.

Our bedroom had a lovely balcony with views over the harbour, lovely big bedroom with one of the best clothes storage wardrobes we have ever encountered in all our years of staying in Italy. The rooftop pool and outside terraces were a lovely place to relax in with beautiful views . The location is convenient for everything . Would highly recommend the hotel and we will definitely return .

We really enjoyed our Honeymoon stay at Aragona! The location in the port is super convenient for the ferry and you are very close to lots of dining options as well as shopping. The breakfast buffet was great and we really enjoyed the view of the port from the rooftop heated pool. The staff was very friendly to us Americans and made sure we felt very welcomed! The hotel was close to the port which was great. It saved us taxi money. It was also so close to the beautiful shopping district and many restaurants. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The veeakfast buffet was impeccable. The only downside (and it was a big one for us) was the loud music playing to the late hours of the night from the bar across the street. We couldnt sleep. It was absolutely unberable.

All the staff were brilliant. Reception is covered by Jean Carlo, Martina and Jelena. They were very helpful and friendly. Happy in their work. Luigi the bar tender was very good and looked after us. 'Colombo' pool cleaner and room cleaner with all the cleaning team were very friendly and helpful. The room and hotel was spotless. Vito the chef makes the best scrambled eggs ever, Vincenzo the maitre looks after the dining area with the loveliest ladies who are on hand to provide for your needs. I had a massage which was amazing. Imma and Nicoletta both very experienced and very respectful. The hotel is very comfortable and has wonderful views of Ischia porto. Many restaurants in walking distance. We stayed 11 days and ate in a different place each night.

Typical Italian hotel. We were welcomed when we arrived early from our ferry ( within walking distance) and given our room, we’d booked one with a harbour view and patio.
When we got to the room I found the toilet seat was broken, the excellent reception gentleman offered me another room while we waited for it to be repaired, in actual fact the maintenance man arrived within 10 minutes and replaced the seat so no need.
Room very spacious as was the bathroom. Very clean and maid service with fresh towels and linen each day.
Bed was very hard as was the single chair and the patio furniture outside, our backs really felt the hardness, could do with a mattress topper.
Lovely view of harbour from patio.
Air conditioning worked well and was needed as we were there for 5 days in the acute heatwave where the outside temperature was well over 35 each day!
Downstairs was also air conditioned and breakfast each day was great. Limited hot food and an abundance of cold meats, cheeses,fruit, yoghurt and cakes
Aragon’s palace aperol spritzers were the best on the island! Samples from the downstairs bar and the rooftop terrace!
Would recommend this hotel to anybody, top marks

After 2 poor nights sleep was glad to get away, zero air conditioning working throughout the building.
Very dated although most Italian hotels are. Had to ring reception regarding the aircon in which they just provided a stand alone fan.

The property has the potiental to be amazing but needs updating. The beds were horrible, you felt the springs from the mattress, the shower had some mold and the grout on the tile floors was dirty. The bathroom towels were worn, thin and rough, definitely need new ones. The staff was very nice and the location is great. The hotel just needs to invest some money on upkeep. Definitely NIT a 4 star property.

This was my second time staying here. They upgraded me to a superior room with large terrace and views of the port, which was really nice. The hotel has great views of all the boats and a convenient location. I love the rooftop pool too. Breakfast is big and plentiful, with a reasonable number of savory options. The decor is a bit dated and after four days, you wished the bed was a little more comfortable, but overall it's a great hotel that is correctly priced. I will happily stay again.

The hotel is well-located on the harbour with easy access to ferries and local buses around the island. It is a five minute walk from where the ferry docks.

The harbour area has lots of restaurants and the main shopping street is just around the corner.

The hotel has a rooftop pool with view of the harbour and an indoor pool for rainy days.

Staff were welcoming and friendly.

All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean.

However, the hotel looks dated. Someone once spent a lot of money making this hotel look very tacky. Blue everything. Monogrammed everything. But it felt old fashioned and in need of investment to modernise it.

We had a room at the front of the property, which was VERY noisy at night. The air-con in our room did not work / was switched off, so we opened the balcony doors to let in air. Big mistake: the harbour is constantly busy, with vans, porters and people congregating late into the night and early morning. It was loud, so we didn't get much sleep during our stay.

Breakfast choices were limited. There is a hot breakfast option but it's not made clear and you have to ask for it.

If I visit Ischia again I will stay somewhere else.

The reception, lobby and restaurant area were all very welcoming and nice. The room had a large balcony that overlooked a busy corner in the town. Balcony doors cut the noise but were hard to open, kept getting stuck. The breakfast was quite good. The room was spacious but was a bit stark and lacked vibe, needed a makeover by a professional decorator. There were strange plastic coverings on the chair and bed head. The wifi was terrible and after we let reception know about it we were given a cold shoulder. The pool area on the roof was quite good though the pool was a little small. Overall the stay was OK but definitely not 4 star.

2. Location. So nice to hop off the ferry and go directly to hotel. This is huge.
3. Breakfast included.

Negatives:

1. The biggest disappointment is what this hotel *could* be (or probably was?) The building needs renovations. Badly. The hot baths seem kitschy with the dark lighting. The blue tile throughout may have looked cool in the 80s but has not made it into the 2000s with class. The exterior needs paint and freshening. Investment in the building could really change the feel of the place.

2. They were ok, but the mattresses were a bit firm.

3. Had to ask several times for towels, not a big deal, but the towels themselves were really poor quality. !

Rooms were slightly dated, however we felt like it was excellent value for what we paid. Hotel was very clean and the AC was wonderful. Wifi everywhere, including the roof top pool.

Convenient location but extremely noisy. Windows and shutters must be sealed shut for any chance to sleep. In other reviews the hotel insists it’s quiet: false. Bathroom amenities are abysmal, especially the quality of the towels that are useless when trying to dry after a shower. Decor is hospital like, rooms totally aseptic and not welcoming. Sorry, the plastic protecting chairs and headboards makes it 1950s grandma house. Service however is good. Breakfast acceptable

Right on the pier walking distance to ferry, restaurants, shopping and beach! Had great weekend!
Only complaint was the room temp. It was early April and they hadn't turn ac on for season. Rooms were in the 80s!! Our room only had french doors to shared patio (no windows). So, we propped doir open with desk chair to let in some fresh air.
No fans. Be prepared!

The hotel is in a wonderful condition right on the port, a simple 5 minute walk from the arrival ferry. It is on one of the main streets of ischia and makes walking around super easy and enjoyable. We had a room with a balcony and port view and it was wonderful. Breakfast was fresh and enjoyable. Staff was professional, courteous, and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Overall a wonderful hotel and made for a great stay in ischia Porto.

A relaxing visit to Ischia

We wanted a stress free and relaxing break and that's exactly what we got. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly.

We ate at the hotel on the first night and the food was good quality and good value for money.

We used the spa facilities almost daily. The location of the hotel was excellent as it's right on the dockside close to loads of restaurants and a short walk to the shops. The island is also well situated for trips to the other surrounding islands which can be reached by using the local ferry or hydrofoil services at a reasonable cost.

My only negative comments would be the bed. It was probably one of the hardest mattresses I've ever slept on. The staff were very responsive to our comments by putting extra duvets and toppers on the mattress to make it more comfortable, hence the regular visits to the spa!

The staff in the spa actually confirmed that other guests have had the same complaints about the hard mattresses.

Otherwise an enjoyable visit to the beautiful island of Ischia and we plan to revisit in the near future.

Staff were friendly and helpful! Great location! Just a few minutes walk from the ferry port. Aragonese castle was about a 25 min walk with lots of shops and restaurants along the way. The room was spacious and clean. The shower pressure was amazing!

Well located hotel right next to Ischia port and the end of Ischia's main shopping street. Friendly staff and very good breakfast spread. There are two pools - one indoor and one outdoor. A little small if the place is busy, but we went out of season, so they were good for us.

Very convenient location within walking distance of the ferry, in the heart of shopping and restaurant area and close to public bus stop. The room was very clean. If you sleep with the doors open on terrace be aware that the harbor can be noisy in the early am.

Right on the Harbour

An excellent Hotel with comfortable rooms and exceptional service. Absolutely ideally placed for all amenities from the beach, shops, restaurants, bus stops and tours. Breakfast was varied and of good quality. The spa was comfortable and the rooftop pool was small but ideal with loungers and a bar. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

September stay in Aragona

A nice hotel in a great location. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The warm swimming pool was nice and the beach was close by. It was fairly expensive for when we stayed there in September, however the whole island was expensive for this period. Staff were friendly and useful in guiding us to local attractions.

Perfect location

Lovely hotel with rooftop swimming pool only 5 mins walk from the ferry terminal and only a couple more minutes to the bus station so a great base from which to explore the island. The castle is a pleasant 30-minute walk away (or bus journey).
Located on the waterfront with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops close by. The rooftop pool is lovely with plenty of sun loungers and there is also a spa with indoor pool. We had complimentary mini back massages on our first day.
We found the reception staff to be exceptionally helpful in both answering questions and making suggestions.
We were given a late checkout without even asking plus there is a shower room to use so we were able to make the most of our last day.
Breakfast was good (lots of bread products!) and the restaurant seems well-attended in the evenings although we preferred to eat out.
They don’t promote the fact that the attached restaurant on the waterfront is part of the hotel and a 15% reduction is available to hotel guests IF they let the staff know at the beginning of the meal!

Friendly, helpful staff in a fabulous location.

The hotel’s staff were the friendliest and the most helpful I have come across. With excellent spoken English (which was very useful as my Italian is non existent). The breakfast was delicious and the thermal spa was an added bonus as was the location by the port which was scenic, especially from the rooftop pool. All of this within strolling distance of a variety of local restaurants and bars to suit all budgets and a beach around in the corner. Perfect!

Hotel with great position

This hotel is very well positioned for everything. It's a few steps from the harbour for pleasure sailing, a short distance form the bus station, near excellent restaurants and beaches. BUT the best feature of this hotel is the staff. Carmen, Mary and Laura at reception especially were excellent, but the same can be said for the restaurant staff (especially lovely girl with the long ponytail), night reception staff and porters.

Good hotel, super staff

Very pleasant hotel with super staff. Very friendly, helpful, accommodating. We had a harbour view room which was enormous with big bathroom and balcony. Plenty of storage. Rather noisy some nights, though we do prefer to keep windows open rather than use Aircon. Aircon was, however, efficient and quiet when we did use it. Hotel well placed, close to many restaurants, bus station, boats and ferries and reasonable walking distance to Castile Aragonese. Acceptable breakfast though rather heavy on cakes and less of other choices.

We were given a very warm welcome with lots of information and had lovely drinks and a cake selection delivered to our room on arrival.
The hotel is on the port with lots of restaurants and bars close by.
The hotel is clean and has a lkvy roof top pool and indoor pool including spa treatments.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel

Lovely hotel, very comfortable. Well furnished. Friendly staff. Room was beautiful. Had a superior room with a harbour view. Lovely balcony, view. Quiet, didn't find being in the port a problem. Bathroom was great. Robes provided. Minibar/fridge was nice. Safe in room. No tea/coffee making facilities but we took our own as that was clear beforehand. Staff on reception were very helpful and advised on transport, places to go etc. Shy to in room was good. Wifi was ok, bit slow. Breakfast was nice, Good choice. Town was beautiful, lots of nice restaurants and shops. We used the bus to visit Forio, St Angelo and Lacco Ameno. We also got the hydrofoil to Capri for the day. It was all very easy, not expensive and beautiful.
