We stayed Saturday to Tuesday. The restaurant and bar were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays which was disappointing - The roof top bar area had an incredible view of the castle but we didn’t get chance to sit there - otherwise I would have given a higher score

The Tribe hotel is very near the Carcassonne castle with beautiful views over the area.The hotel was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The hotel restaurant has a stunning view of the castle at night.

Front desk staff a little scruffy and unprofessional to see them smoking outside the entrance. That said, we’re all helpful. Hotel is ideally positioned. Didn’t have a castle view so our view was grim into courtyard area….

Hotel was fine. Interesting decoration and a nice rooftop bar. Room was clean, bed comfy, bathroom nice. Easily walkable to the cite. Sound proofing in the hotel is not great and the balcony doors didn’t do much to stop the outside noise. Staff were fine, but not particularly warm or friendly. In summary, an okay hotel and experience, but I feel we could have got better value elsewhere.

Great location right next to the Aude River and River trail/walk. Great view of the citadel. Comfortable brooms, friendly staff and easy parking. Nancy comped my service dog fees which was appreciated. Street parking is free. 10-12 spots right by hotel. Underground parking for the tribe is 25€ per day. We walked to the citadel and we walked to multiple squares to eat in or near the town center. Went for the Tour de France stayed an extra day. All good, would stay again.

Great location with a secure car park. The reception staff are very nice. Breakfast is good and the view from the restaurant on the Cite de Carcassonne is fantastic. Very small pool but nice to cool off and relax in after a long journey. Rooms are comfortable with air conditioning.

The view was great and it was in a good location with lots of parking. The pool area was very poor and the pool liner filthy - it’s about half the size of a domestic pool.

Nice hotel, welcoming and comfortable.
Restaurant food lacked in choice for vegetarians and vegans, not really any healthy choice. But the staff were lovely and the service was great.
Room was comfortable and practical, though the colour choice was a bit odd & the shower was small even for me, a small woman. But that could be that I had the odd room at the end of the corridor that the designer squeezed in.

The high star rating of this hotel is likely due to its location. The room itself was dark and very small, with the odd choice of black walls in areas where you’d make a drink or use the safe. Upon arrival, you’re greeted with a long list of rules about what you must not do – yet trying to get a clean cup, coffee pods, sugar, and milk was a challenge in itself.

To add to the disappointment, we were informed upon check-in that the restaurant and bar were closed on Sundays and Mondays. When we tried to order a drink at the bar, the staff seemed clueless, unable to make even the simplest of cocktails. After that, we never bothered to return to the bar or try the restaurant.

This hotel really needs to take a fresh look at things from a customer’s perspective, as it feels like improvements have been neglected for quite some time. Was I impressed? Not at all. The location is great, but there are plenty of other hotels in the same area. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning or recommending it.

Great location between the old town and new town, with great rooftop view of the old town.
The room was clean with standard facilities including a safe in the room.
The bathroom was split with toilet separate room from sink and shower.
The room colour scheme was dark which when faced inwards made the room overall quite dark even with main lights on. Sounded like the room was above the kitchen with a lot of banging pots heard until midnight and then again from 6am so not as restful as would like.

We had to go down to 0 walk down the hall to another elevator to get to breakfast. Had a nice rooftop bar that nobody told us about. Parking inconvenient. No bar/restaurant/store nearby. Room was comfortable.

Nice welcome on arrival, very pleasant & helpful receptionist. Our room was a reasonable size, the small balcony overlooked the river with a good view of the medieval city. The hotel is roughly equally distant from that & the 'newer' city, which still has lots of interesting old buildings. We took the breakfast which was ok, the coquetted eggs could be a bit hit & miss.

Very nice hotel just outside Carcassonne Cite. With easy access to the Cite and the Town for shops - only about 20 mins walk from the train station. Beautiful view overlooking the Castle and the river. We had a 2nd floor room which had a mini balcony for sitting out on. Room was spacious, just a couple of niggly things like no soap in soap dispenser and missing coffee cups but otherwise all good. Good TV Channel selection and WiFi worked well. Overall a nice hotel, would stay here again.

A very Disappointing stay

Overall it was ok, but things to note before staying here.
There is no lift from the underground parking to the hotel, just stairs.
The rooms are very dark and carpets are stained and our room smelt of curry.
Our first room has broken air conditioning, so I was loathed to move again.
The toilet smelt of waste and there are no mattress protectors on the beds, just the bottom sheet straight to mattress which is certainly not 4* hotel level and very unhygienic. We slept with our own towels beneath us to try protect us.
The room as a good size and the shower was powerful enough and very large.
The breakfast was surprisingly good but I wouldn’t pay more than 10 euros pp for it.
Hotel in a good location, a 10 minute walk over the bridge to the old town.
The girl on reception was extremely unfriendly and not helpful at all.
The pool was not in good repair, the liner was coming away in places and the re furb on it was very poor. Not a welcoming pool by any standards.
Overall a very below average stay and I wouldn’t stay again or recommend to friends or family.

Went for a week in the beautiful Carcassonne.
The hotel was in a perfect location and the rooms and bar were lovely.
The housekeeping came and cleaned up the rooms and put new towels in the every day!
I especially liked the Google Chromecast!
Came in very useful.

Lovely hotel in a great location. The breakfast was very good with fresh produce and a great choice. I would give the hotel 10/10 except for the toilet. The bathroom and toilet are separate which is a great idea except the toilet was basically in a cupboard. When I sat on the toilet my knees were up against the door and the only way I could comfortably use the toilet was to leave the door open. I am not tall only 5 foot 6 but it was impossible to use the toilet with the door closed. It was the most claustrophobic one I have ever been in. Whoever designed the toilet should be sacked, it is only suitable for little people. This is my only gripe with the hotel, everything else was perfect, beds were very comfortable.

This hotel has a cool vibe, with nice touches such as water machines (both fizzy and still) on each floor. The rooms are not big, but very practical and breakfast included in our rate was extremely good. We didn't use the pool, but the rooftop terrace is terrific. It's worth going to the bar/restaurant for the views alone. Reasonably priced. A great stay

Modern hotel, friendly professional staff (some don't speak English but that's not a barrier these days) ideal location for train station, new town and medieval city. Toulouse is an hour by train. You can easily get from airport to town and Google maps the hotel is a short walk. Getting back to airport is more challenging, no ubers, taxi services busy during rush hour so allow extra time.

Great service. A wonderful small , cute hotel in front of the Castel. Three steps and you are at the entrance. Breakfast was beyond expectations and it’s included. Staff is welcoming and friendly as well.

Tribe was a great location while visiting La cite. The bridge was a short walk across to the fortress town. We then returned for a delicious meal at the hotel restaurant with an amazing window view. We retreated to the roof top patio afterwards to continue taking in the great view with some champagne. Hotel was modern and clean with accommodating staff. Parking is available onsite for a fee but there’s also a free parking lot beside the hotel where we were able to find a spot. Would return!

Having seen the pictures, we expected great things. But the pictures are an artist impression and the reality is very, very different.

This is actually an old hotel that's had a lick of paint and some new furtniture, but it stops there. None of the rest of those pictures actually exists. And nor is it finished - cables dangling from the ceilng, doors withiut handles, air con units not installed correctly and noisy, bare concrete walls (well, painted concrete) aplenty.

The pool is so far from the image its difficult to believe.

Any talk of a roof terrace reataurant isnt right. Theres a couple of bits of outdoor furniture and two tables on a tiny terrace and the rest is noisy air conditioning towers.

This place is not kid friendly and therefore not family friendly! No extra beds or cots, no room for them in the tiny rooms, but equally no joining doors to other rooms? So no kids, basically. And no kids allowed in the pool.

If was €75 a night then it might be a different story, but more than double that for a place like this, unfinished, not kid friendly, and with completely decieiving pictures online? Its not right.

I challenge hotels.com to force the owners to add REAL pictures, like my ones below.

We visited during the Covid-19 pandemic so this review is affected by that, but we were disappointed in the hotel. The restaurant was closed so breakfast was served at tables in the lobby or a conference room on individual trays (sometimes without plates, and without the option to make different choices day to day) and insufficient cleaning of the tables was done between guests. Our hall area on the 5th floor had ceiling tiles missing and the light often did not work. The paperwork in the room implied that cleaning would only be done at the end of our stay to reduce interactions between staff and guests, however one day the cleaning staff came into the room unannounced which could have been embarrassing for everyone. The staff did not always wear masks which I believe was mandatory at the time. Outside of the pandemic issues, the pool area was smaller than implied from the photos online and was not as clean as expected. Also the separate toilet and bathroom layout is unusual and the toilet was very small!!! On the positive side the location is excellent for both the medieval city and the more modern area of town.

My husband, baby daughter and I enjoyed a fantastic stay here for 2 nights. It was quiet (although it was New Year’s Eve) and comfortable, and the service from the reception staff was excellent. They upgraded us to a larger room with a view of the old city for free because we had so much luggage that they said we would have difficulty fitting comfortably in the standard room we had booked. They also helped provide us with information needed to make alternative outward travel arrangements as our original plans were disrupted by the train strike. We also enjoyed a swim in the pool on the third floor, which had great views of the old city. Overall, a wonderful place to stay!

Nice room, with a lovely view of the old fortress. Very good location, between the fortress and the city centre.
Nice (although quite small) pool, again with a nice view.
Didn't have breakfast at the restaurant, but went for dinner and it was lovely - nothing to reproach.
The hotel itself is a bit dated - which is why it didn't get 5/5. But it's clean, well kept, in a good location and with good service. I would return.

Front desk was wonderful and very helpful. Was checked into a room where some other guests were still using but that was sorted out quick enough with an upgrade to a different room. Thank you. However, restaurant service needs a lot of improvement. Not sure if it was because I am non-French speaking single asian or if it is because I was not dressed to the nines, I had to grab attention from the restaurant waiters all the time. I was offered the only table in the panoramic restaurant without a view and accepted it as I was told that was the only table available. When a table opened up later (and was cleared) I asked if I could have that table and was told I could not, even though that table remained open till closing time.
