Located right in the heart of Carcassonne's medieval citadel, the hotel's 43 rooms are spread over two buildings. Guests are greeted by a warm welcome and provided with excellent service by a staff attentive to each client's needs and comfort.
The Best Western Plus Hotel Le Donjon is made up of two different buildings, Le Donjon and Le Clos Trencavel. Our hotel has a restaurant and lounge, four conference rooms which will accommodate up to 100 guests, business services and a reception area with a television and reading lounge.

An absolutely magical stay.
The location is incredible, like something out of a fairy tale. Staff were warm, friendly, polite and welcoming. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfasts were excellent.
I went in winter so the old city was quiet at night, but there were still a couple of great restaurants open, and walking the citadel after dark with nobody around is a breathtaking experience.
Can't wait to return!

Charming place. Staff were very helpful. This is located in the fort and you need a shuttle car to get in. Stairs are dark and room is small but clean. We also bought breakfast before our exploration. Breakfast was adequate but very fresh and tasty. Carcasonne is a must visit place for us. Rooms are good for sleep but don’t expect much amenities due to its age.

First of all, my husband & I fell in love with Carcassonne, this hotel, and the staff (Jean, Stephen and Tiffany) who were friendly and helpful. We were excited to be staying inside the castle walls. The room was clean, spacious, quiet, and facing the castle walls. The inside of the hotel had an Old World feeling, warm, and decorated for Christmas. In short, it was lovely!
We took a taxi from the train station. The driver said it was forbidden for him to enter the city walls so he dropped us off at a parking lot where he instructed us to push a call button for the hotel driver to get us. Sure enough in a few minutes a driver picked us up (free ride).

despite being the middle of winter, the staff were attentive and the location was lovely, very Christmassy. Room was great.

Room was clean and spacious. Finding this hotel is a bit challenging as the gps put us on an alleyand you cant get to the hotel with our own car . I climbed up 3 flights of stairs, got into the rampants and had to ask people where this hotel is. We finally found it. Gave the location to my husband (in the car). The hotel then sends someone to guide my husband to the parking lot. The guide then put all our luggages in his little carand drive them up to the hotel. Other than this, it was a pleasant stay.

It was okay. Nice check in. The bar was terrible and some of te staff was very unexperienced. The lobby was quite worn out, and so was the rest of the hotel as well. But it was clean and everything worked well. The room was not as nice as the pictures, but it was okay. We did not like that the wc and bathroom was two different rooms. Then it was s little bit problems when booking their restaurant via the web page. We got the confirmation from anorher restaurant!

A lovely hotel in the heart of medieval Carcassonne with lots of cafes, restaurants and beautiful shops all on the doorstep. Staff on reception, at breakfast and cleaning were all great and attentive. Our suite room was spacious, with a great coffee machine and toiletries. Cela fait plusieurs fois que nous venons et jusque la tout allait bien sauf que cette fois ci nous avons eu une chambre si sombre que l'on se serait cru dans une grotte, une chambre donnant dans une ruelle avec grille aux fenetres alors que sur le site on nous montre une jolie photo avec un acces à une terrasse, ce que nous avions eu les fois precedentes mais surement pas cette fois ci. D'autre part j'avais bien coché à la réservation \"règlement sur place\" quelle surprise de constater que la somme a été prélevée sur mon compte des mon arrivée alors que je souhaitais régler avec une autre carte bancaire : un peu cavalier ! Nous ne reviendrons plus !!!

Visitors need to understand that taking the city bus is a viable alternative for those without a car. Our taxi never arrived at the train station, so we walked. A memorable walk, but a little more gruelling than necessary.

If you come by car, reach out to the hotel to get the instructions of where to park since you cant reach the hotel driving.

This hotel is inside the grounds of the medieval castle. It is absolutely breathtaking and will blow you away. You have to park about 5-10 mins away and walk into the castle grounds to the hotel. Inside the walls is like being transported back to the middle-ages. There are lots of little boutique shops and restaurants. The hotel was very nice and the staff were extremely helpful. The breakfast is also worth checking out. It was great!

The hotel's location in the center of the medieval city is ideal. It's an oasis amid the crowds that visit each day. As you cannot bring your car into the medieval city, the hotel has an efficient system in which you park outside the city and the hotel arranges for your bags to be delivered. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a great time.

Where to park was a bit confusing and the GPS tried to take us through the city gates (obviously, not possible). Would highly recommend the experience and the hotel.

Great property! We arrived very late and the hotel manager/staff was more than accommodating to get us from our uber to the hotel. Breakfast in the morning is a bit light but traditional. We had one issue where I showered the first day and was caught in the shower with both an empty large bottle of shampoo and body wash. My husband went to housekeeping and was able to recover it but inconvenient to wait that long and easily avoidable. All minor in the scheme of things. We would recommend this hotel!

Amazing setting. Very disappointed with room. We paid for Superior Double and out in a Classic room. The photos of our classic room was shown on several websites as a Classic. When I queried this they said it was a superior room. That the photos of our room was mistakes. Within minutes our room photo disappeared completely from the websites. Everything else about hotel was lovely. But our room very disappointing. Very dusty, had problem with flushing toilet and when windy the ceiling tiles in bathroom were lifting and clanging. I asked for a refund on room but not given. Allowed us free parking. Did offer to put us in a superior room but we only had one more day so too much hassle.

Hotel wonderfully situated. Room had enough space. Bathroom was large. We chose to add breakfast which had a lot of options: eggs, bacon, cold meats and cheeses, breads, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit and juices. The staff overall were very friendly and helpful, however I booked the deluxe room and when i got into the room it looked like the pictures of the cheaper classic room. My room description had a bathtub and we had no bathtub. The pictures of the deluxe room also had an outside sitting area and we only had a juliet balcony. I asked the front staff and they said it was about the size of the room not the amenities. I didnt see another room so i don't know if i was lied to but the pictures of my room look like the classic room.

This was the perfect place to stay if you were visiting Carcassone!! it was located right within the walled city, and definitely had an old world feeling.
It was clean and wonderful and the staff was great. The breakfast was delicious and the location was superb.
The only thing that I didn’t think was that great was the air-conditioning in the room. It was a little too warm for me and felt stuffy.
