Our room was clean and warm, bedding spotless and toilet and bathroom were clean, didn't use much within the kitchen facilities, but it had eveything to self cater. Deco is a little dark and a little depressing, would look cheary with white walls, but it's acceptable. Nice swimming pool, very quiet, good sleeps! If you want peace and quiet, this would be suitable. Plenty parking and it is only 10 minutes to walk to the Medival City

We had a two night stay to visit the mediaeval town and found the location of the Cerise Carcassonne Sud excellent for this purpose. The carpark is very large and secure with gates closing from 9 pm. The old town is a 5 minute walk away - very do-able even in the 35 C heat.
Our rooms (in block A) were very large, disabled friendly, if a little utilitarian with sparse oldish, basic furniture (no bedside tables). Air conditioning worked well, the king size bed was very comfortable and the shower was stable and controllable. Our bathroom was a fully accessible wet room and very large. Perfect for older travellers. The wifi was a bit patchy, but we understand that this was a temporary issue.
The breakfast (extra cost) was reasonable - better as a Continental rather than the cooked variety. Dining in room would be possible with basic facilities (microwave, fridge, hotplate) with cutlery, crockery and a few pans provided. The hotel is on the edge of town with a pattiserie and grocery stall about 15 minutes walk along a busy road.
Overall, the Cerise Carcassonne Sud was well located and comfortable. Not an expensive, luxury hotel, but probably great for families and perfect for visiting the old city.

Would consider staying again

The members of staff in reception didn't speak much English but I very much appreciated that they were trying their best as much as I was with my French. The property was clean and comfortable and access to the pool was a great plus. Breakfast was adequate but on the expensive side. Close to the Cite' (around 10 minutes walk) and the area felt safe to walk even at night. Bus no2 which takes you to the newer part of town is just round the corner and no3 is just outside the Castle wall

This is a basic aparthotel, it was clean but in news of refurbishment. Comfy beds and quiet, also close to medieval walls.

This property though simple was an excellent value. Rooms were clean. Parking was plentiful. Included breakfast was very good. Easy walk to the fortress. The only downside was the laundry. With only one machine with a very small drum and many long-term residents, I would not count on the machine's availability. If you need to do laundry, there is a very good commercial one about a half-mile from the hotel.

What a find! What the accomodation lacks in modernity, it more than makes up for in size of rooms, cleanliness, the MOST comfortable beds, facilities (including a pool and steam room) and self catering amenities. But what sets this place apart, is the most incredible breakfast - we have never had such choice and quality!!! The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff also deserves a big mention. Would definitely look at returning!

Lovely hotel.

The property was in a great location and our room had 2 views 1 of the castle and the other had lovely views. The room was a little tired but very practical. Our room no. Was 237. We had a bus stop right outside so it was cheap to get around and go to the lake. Breakfast was good and staff very helpful. Swimming pool area a bit tired.

The only negatives I have for this property are that the hot water went away very quickly, there was no stopper for the bathtub, and the automatic lights were hard to turn on in the morning out in the hallway. It’s walkable distance to cite de carcassonne, but it is on the far end of town, pretty far away from the train station. It took me about 45 minutes in the rain.

Overall, a fine stay. Not exceptional l, not bad. And the hotel itself is a little outdated. The rooms were clean, but just outdated. The overall facility was decent, not well manicured. The best thing about this place is your less than a 10 minute walk from the medieval city, which is a must see.

Overall it was a nice stay, but there was little to no soap and toilet paper, pool didn’t have any towels, and you had to take out your own trash and leave it at the edge of the property. Everything was clean but felt a little rundown. Breakfast was additional but very good. Laundry facilities on site but were 8 euros per load.

Home from home with great location

The apartment was a great safe place where we could stay with our dogs and explore Carcassonne and the surrounding areas. The dogs felt relaxed and at home and we felt safe leaving them for short periods on their own when taking them along was not suitable.
The old citadel was only a short walk away and there was ample parking.
Access to the town and the motorways was a single road so very easy to travel and explore.
Much better than staying at a hotel, yet with all the convenience of staying at a hotel.

The reception staff were very helpful in arranging a trip to the vet for our dog. Much appreciated. OK breakfast.
Great location for the castle, bit of a walk to the old town. Reception closes at 8pm.
Apartment was not cared for. Very basic, not enough crockery/cutlery provided.
Could have been cleaner. We wonder if we were put in the poorer quality block because we have a small dog. Outside patio area and furniture was dirty. Dining chair covers marked and in need of a wash.
What made it worse was that we were issued instructions upon arrival about cleaning the place before we left, removing all of our rubbish from the bins and warning the reception if we were leaving our dog in the room in case the cleaner was going in! There was no cleaner!! Toilet area didn’t smell clean either ☹️

Disappoint as the rentsal to sleep four people wasn't the same as advertised. In the photo it showed one double and two single beds. We got one double and a sofa bed. There was also minimal sheets for the sofa bed. And one of the sheets was covered in what looked to be dog hair.

On the upside it was quite, ample parking and clean. But I wouldn't pick it again.

We took the family room, it comes with a balcony. The balcony floor was extremely dirty. The chairs and table on the balcony seems like never cleaned with detergent. The clothes hanger was so dirty you could not hand your wet clothes or towel. The bathroom cabinets where all work and edges beginning to rotten. One air conditioning for a 2 bedroom and living room. When we put the A/C on dust came out the vents. I do. Or recommend this property and will be claiming Hotels.com for a refund.

Our room was the perfect size for myself, my husband, our daughter and my brother. We had a wonderful suite of three rooms (Two bedrooms and a living/kitchen area with a trundle). The walk to the walled city of Carcassonne was less than five minutes and the neighborhood the hotel was in was lovely. The breakfast was the best we've had in any hotel. Such nice hosts and a fabulous stay. I would absolutely stay there again.

Cerise is very basic, rooms are clean and spacious, there is plenty of parking space and the place is just 5 minutes walk from La Citadele. Front desk staff is amicable & helpful. However the room wasn’t carefully attended and shampoo and body wash were empty. We don’t recommend going for their breakfast either: fruit was frozen, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages are served in an proportionally small recipient and wasn’t refilled properly since 9:30 AM (although it was supposed to finish at 10:30). Wonderful stay for a family!

My husband, I and 2 kids stayed one night on our way back from a road trip to Italy and we had a great experience! The apartments are clean with fully equipped kitchen, balcony with view and super comfortable beds. The pool and sauna are family friendly and very relaxing, just steps from the medieval town, the breakfast was delicious and the staff beyond nice and helpful and recommended the best restaurants and activities in the cité.

Property is pretty worn around the edges -- literally. The first room we (family of 5) were offered was only partially cleaned so we switched rooms. The second room was cleaner but also very dated and showing signs of long-term wear: banged up doors, cracking/flaking drywall seams, very old worn furniture. Beds were on the medium-hard side. The pool area was a highlight for our kids. Also nice the property is gated and the staff were super friendly. We stayed two nights. If you're traveling on a shoestring, this is the place for you.

Hotel was fine for what it was but really wasn't what we were expecting. The photo suggests perhaps a large converted country house. Infact, it was more like an inexpensively refurbished 60's/70's motel.
But it had clearly been refurbished recently and was clean and spacious so it was ok.

Spacious and simply furnished rooms with a balcony - kitchen well equipped with microwave, fridge, small freezer and dishwasher. Air conditioning unit in lounge strong enough to keep bedrooms cool if curtains drawn in the day. Secure car parking and only 5 to 10 mins walk from castle, restaurants and a few local shops. EAsy to find as per directions and checkin took minutes. Would recommend location highly.

This appears to be a vacation property with rentals when owners are not using it. We had a two bedroom unit with a limited kitchen. Odd arrangement (for N Americans) with the toilet in one room next to the entrance and the shower/sink off of one bedroom. The second bedroom did not have any direct access to the bathroom. The property has a laundry which we needed about this point in our trip. Did not use the kitchen. Good well kept facility.

More a motel than hotel but with cooking and fridge facilities and only a pleasant six minute walk to the castle. Would have made a huge difference if reception had been open all the time - a four hour wait to check-in is not much fun but it is possible to leave luggage at two hotels near the train station.

Do not arrive earlier than appointed check in time as reception is closed. Friendly reception and maintenance staff dropped by to make sure all bulbs and appliances working. Guess it could be off season so they weren't as prepared. Nearly fell in the shower as there was no mat in the bathtub. Well equipped kitchen but filthy chopping board. Housekeeping started knocking at the door at 9.45am to \"remind\" you to check out by 10am...

We stopped here for one night when travelling from Spain through France.

On the plus side the staff were very pleasant and the mattress was very comfortable.

On the negative the rooms were dated and basic, we asked to change room as the one we had initially was not good. The breakfast is not good value for money.

We spent one night here as we wanted to see the citadel. It was just ten minutes walk away and very easy to get to.

Only good for a stop over

This hotel was only good for a one stop off, could't stay for more than one night as very basic. Also room had a funny not so nice smell

Super location at a great price

Excellent, gated location that was very comfortable. Being walking distance to the walled city made going there very easy, at any time, without the cost of parking.
