A really well placed hotel, with some of the most friendly and helpful staff that I've ever encountered in a hotel!

Breakfast was a real surprise, a good variety on offer.

I thought that the bathroom was dimly lit, and the mould marks in places were unsightly - but it all worked and was absolutely adequate.

I would definitely stay here again.

A fabulous Italian restaurant is a short walk away too - \"La Divine Comedie\".

Beautifully Situated

Great location, perfectly situated in between the old and new city!
Beautiful stroll through the new city ( which is about 800 years old) will take you from the gare to the hotel. From the hotel, an awesome walk over the vieux pont will take you to the old city and the chateau comtal.
Keep in mind, rooms are very small and so are the bathrooms. But it is well kept and clean. Dont expect a lot amenities in the room. But there is hot water available in the lobby. The hotel over looks the pretty Gambetta Square and is a stone's throw from the Art Gallery which is free.

The staff were friendly and attentive. We had a couple of problems with our room but everything was soon addressed. Breakfast was basic but plentiful. The hotel is centrally placed and close to the airport shuttle bus.

Good location

Small room, the bed was very comfortable and we had a view of the medieval city from a room at the back of the hotel. Air con did not work, had been switched to heat only, so we found the room very warm.

The hotel is located in front of a park and has close proximity to the town with plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities. It is walking distance from the ancient walled city grounds. The hotel breakfast is very good and you can eat indoors or on the outdoor patio. It is a great spot and I would stay there again.

Small, but Comfortable

This is a good spot to stay that is well situated between the train station (a 20-minute walk) and the Old City (a 20-minute walk). We were greeted warmly at reception and the room was clean and quiet. The A/C did not cool as well as I would have liked, but overall the room met our needs. The hotel also allowed us to leave our luggage while we explored the Old City before leaving on an afternoon train.

Shocking customer service.

When we got to hotel the receptionist was as much use as a chocolate fire guard as our car which was an SUV with a top box measuring 2.5m tall was unable to get into underground car park. She put her hands in the air and said that we would have to park it on the main road outside the hotel which was a very busy road. The car alone was worth £50,000 and all our luggage etc was either in the top box or packed in the back open to passers by and a prime target for vehicle theft. On checking in and finding all this out, we went and booked and stayed in a Campanile which cost us over €150. We cannot comment on the rooms of the hotel as we didn’t get passed the front door.

We stayed one night enroute north On a motorcycle.. helpful friendly reception .. comfy bed and clean room .. very small though compared to other ibis we’ve stayed in .. great location close to the old medieval town and next to a lovely square .. quiet even though on a busy road .. parking was expensive at €9 .. usually we never pay for a motorcycle at other ibis hotels and in fact anywhere we stay ..

Staff was very friendly and also accommodated our late check in and late breakfast. Location is right in front of a beautiful park and walking distance to the castle. We put less than excellent overall due to the very small elevator and small room where the door doesn’t even open completely but we think that is the norm for that city. We would definitely stay there again.

Central and Convenient

The hotel is perfectly situated between the Old City and the new town. It sits on the corner of a beautiful square where the underground car park is - at 7 euros for 24 hours - a bargain!
The hotel reception staff were a pleasure to deal with and were on hand all the time.
The room was fine with air conditioning and comfortable bed. As with other reviewers I agree the bathroom is really small but for us it didn’t matter at all.
Despite being on a busy road there wasn’t any road noise.
We were really impressed with the breakfast as the choices were superb. It was lovely to have local cheeses and preserves on offer as well as choices of breads, other cheeses, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad, cakes, dried and fresh fruit, juices, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The price was 9.5 Euros each so no complaints there.
We will definitely stay again when we come back to Carcassonne.

Okay, clean, close to town

The hotel is fine. Very much no frills and the service is rather average (I’m allergic to starch and so asked about how the sheets are washed - I was directed to find out for myself via the laundry company, which I wasn’t able to do, and I ended up having to sleep on towels).
The beds are rather hard, the room is really small, and our double room was two single beds situated next to each other. But you get what you pay for, and it’s perfectly livable and clean.
Location is not too bad for getting into town on foot and excellent for going to the historic centre.

An overnight stay to allow a visit to the Cite de Carcassonne. It appears that the hotel was recently renovated and the condition of the room was better than expected. The bed was very comfortable. The en suite was clean and tidy but marked down as it was a small space. The parking garage appeared to be secure. Overall a pretty good night stay.

Hotel is just 10 minutes walk to the Cité and castle - ignore reviews that say otherwise unless you have walking difficulties. Rooms and bathrooms are small but modern and clean and perfect for a short stay to visit the castle and Cité. My husband and I are by no means slender and managed perfectly well in the room. Staff were friendly and very helpful - will definitely be back in Carcassone and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Due to flight delays called Hotel to say we would be arriving late. Receptionist kindly stayed on till we arrived - most kind. Air conditioning in Hotel not working though. Hot night but great shower. Good breakfast and lovely machine coffee [surprisingly]. Stayed again for one night on return journey and girls on Reception again could not have been more helpful. AC still not working. Stupidly left some papers in room on departure. Called from Toulouse Airport and package arrived in post 2 days later. Excellent service.

A 15 minute walk to the train station, 10 minute walk to Le Cite, the hotel overlooks a busy plaza and has an excellent location. Our room had a nice, large comfy bed and solid amenities. Wifi speed was decent. Definitely worth the money!

Ibis - Perfect for walking to the 2 city centres.

The Ibis Centre la Cite is perfectly placed for a weekend stay in Carcassonne, being situated at the edge of the new, (13th C city), and just across the bridge from the old, (11th C walled city), giving a 15-20 minutes walk to any of the centres.
The hotel is pleasantly furnished and was adequate in all aspects for 2 people staying a long weekend. 24 hour reception with wifi, and typical French hotel breakfast, (charged extra), in clean surroundings, with local knowledge provided by the courteous staff. The hotel is situated
at the outer corner of a large tree lined square, that contains an underground car park, ideal for those requiring personal transport.
A warning note when arriving at Carcassonne airport. If you have booked a taxi to any hotel in the city, obtain confirmation that the taxi will be there, and if possible the name, number or even colour of the vehicle, as many of the city-located taxis prefer to remain within the city confines, and often leave passengers waiting out at the airport, which is only 10-15 mins travel away. We managed to share a taxi with another couple, which greatly reduced the waiting time. There is a bus service from the airport into town that looked to be doing a swift business.
I must thank Stefan, from the Ibis Hotel, who at the end of our stay helped us to get to the airport in his own car, after the pre-ordered taxi failed to turn up, ( this after repeatedly verifying that it was on its way!).
The Ibis is ideal for a 2 city stay for 2.

Ascenseur en panne, rue très fréquentée avec des klaxons jour et nuit et pour couronner le tout des gens irrespectueux qui discutent jusqu'à plus d'une heure du matin et ensuite un couple qui a oublié qu'il n'était pas tout seul jusqu'à 5h00. Malheureusement, cela l'hôtel n'est pas responsable...

Cet hôtel n'est pas digne du groupe Accor... Salle de bain avec de l'eau dans les murs... parois de douches jaunies en partie inférieure, coton-tige usagé au sol... poussière partout au sol... rien n'est propre. Une lampe est cassée et pas remplacée... le pommeau de douche ne tient pas... aucun respect du client SAUF le personnel très agréable mais qui semble dépassé par mes remarques. Les hôtels du groupe Accor étaient mieux tenus par le passé. Nous ne sommes pas prêts de revenir et nous vous déconseillons vraiment cet hôtel...

Hôtel d'une autre époque : très vieillot. Une bonne profonde et complète rénovation ne serait pas du luxe. Passable pour une nuit sans être trop exigeant mais cet Ibis ne reflète pas la marque. Quitte à reséjourner à Carcassonne, j'irai ailleurs.
