When walking into the hotel, my first thoughts where whether I had walked into a nightclub! But it turned out that this is a fantastic place to stay. The staff are great and always go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay, the rooms are a good size and clean, the breakfast was great and the location is central.

We stayed in late November and the room was absolutely freezing. There was a thermostat but adjusting it to the highest temperature never made the room any warmer. There was tile flooring so that added to the coldness.

No in room coffee or tea was also a hassle. We had to go down to the next floor to get coffee from hot tap water. There was no boiling water.

Loud. We were wakened by drunk revelers at 0200 and people working outside at 0700.

It is attached to a nice mall and close to the city center. It is a little weird rolling luggage through the mall to the parking garage.

Great location, very clean and quirky hotel. I love the music theme throughout and the fact they tried to do things differently. It shows. Also, staff seems to always be upbeat and happy to help.

The only problem is that by trying to be different it creates inconveniences:

1) the bedroom light controls are annoying. You can't switch on the shower light without switching EVERYTHING on.

2) the door between toilet and shower room makes no sense: too tight to go in/out without getting everything wet.

3) the heating controls are also not intuitive. (and all in German!)

It is a lovely hotel though. Probably the best one located in the town centre.

Very nice & quirky hotel, definitely more adult oriented.

If sharing the room, be aware the shower is glass walled on two sides with an exterior curtain that can be opened by people not in the shower, not an issue for me as I was travelling solo, but something to be mindful of for others.

Loved having a guest laundry on site, great feature, and it seemed to get a lot of use.

Didn’t use the bar or buffet so can’t comment on the quality there.

Very poor service and cleaning

The whole stay was extremely disappointing.

Issues included:
- Very poor standards of cleanliness in the room (the worst I have seen in a long time in a hotel)
- An infestation of silverfish, which led to us needing to move rooms
- A flooding shower (the damp from which presumably caused the silverfish problem)
- Audible noise in the room from the bar immediately below.
- Room not being serviced despite repeated requests
- Poor breakfast selection - on one day there were literally no breakfast items left when we came for breakfast 45 minutes before the specified end time.

The manager, Nikita, did attempt to address some of these issues but matters such as cleaning issues were not followed up or addressed adequately. Hotels.com have raised these complaints twice via email with Ruby Hanna but there has been a failure by the hotel to respond in any way, which is indicative of the generally poor service and lack of focus on customer experience. Definitely not recommended.

Our feelings about Ruby Hanna are mixed. We chose this hotel for its location within the city and proximity to family we were visiting. The bed was comfortable, and it was quiet and dark for sleeping. Its design is elegant and technologically advanced but the functionality of our room for our week's stay was somewhat difficult. There was little to no space to put anything outside of our two suitcases. All the lighting in the room was either 'all on' or 'all off' and the switch operating it was at the opposite end of the room from the bed (not good if getting up in the dark or getting up before your partner). No
shelving for toiletries or even a hook on the door for a robe in the bathroom. No way in the room to contact management in case of a problem or emergency; we had to go back downstairs to speak with someone 3 times over the course of the week for various issues (which were then addressed promptly). We would like to stay there again but will have to decide if the pros outweigh the cons.

Had to check out early

Had to check out early, lack of refrigerator and design of room is not good for long term stay. Loud construction below, parking was terrible every time you leave you have to pay 15 euros again. Super confusing to get to the garage and no instructions are given. Sundays there’s no way to get out of the garage with mall closed unless walking out the garage entrance for cars. AC is hardly cool and you can’t open the windows they are locked.

Great hotel. Clean, comfortable and close walking to all of downtown. Drinks are VERY VERY expensive. Breakfast was AMAZING with a lot of choices. Room AC was terrible and did NOT cool off at all. It was set to a higher room temp. that could not be overridden.

Modern rooms that are soundproofed. Being able to rent a guitar and plug it into an amp in the room is very cool.
No way to change temperature, though. A real pain during my stay because the weather was warm and I couldn’t cool the room.
2 different shower gels felt like a bit of luxury. Clever idea to have a galley with tea and instant coffee right at the entrance to the floor.
Decent location attached to a shopping mall with 2 grocery stores. Slow check-in.

We loved our stay at Ruby. We had an upgrade on our room which was really nice. Bar staff were really nice and enjoyed a cocktail made by barman especially for me and I give him 6* not only 5. Bar generally has a relaxing atmosphere. If you check in online you will save yourself a lot of time trying to check in at the desk.

Check in is terrible here. Even though there is an actual person at the counter which double as a bar, the attendant has you fill out your information on an iPad. The iPads or internet were slow so the process of checking in took 20 minutes for each person. We arrived at 2:30 pm and we were told we could not start any check in until 3:00 along with the 14 other people waiting to check in. The key would not work to our room and we were given a key to a different room instead but upon opening that room we realized the room was occupied by other guests so back to the lobby we went where we were finally given keys to our original room we booked. This whole process took over an hour and walking all over the hotel with our bags. For our inconveniences we were offered a free drink at the bar. This hotel is very disorganized.

Best thing was the location.

The room had a balcony but it was locked and when asked if we could have it unlocked, they said we could not use it. Statf were not very friendly or approachable, actually felt like we were an inconvenience to them. You have to do.your own checkin when you arrive, so you become the staff member. The room itself was fine and the location was.good.

Overall the hotel met our expectations. The issues were that they had set our room up for one person even though the reservation had 2. That left us with one pillow, one towel, a blanket that wouldn’t cover both of us. I had asked for additional items and did receive an extra pillow but not the rest.

Location was wonderful.

Rooms lack storage space. More towel hooks would be helpful. I did not care for products in shower. Breakfast was excellent as was the bar. I did not receive housekeeping once in three days and I thought it would be every other day.

Conveniemtly located and it had a nice bar. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, the room was too cold. The thermostat we could not change so the room was bitter cold with cold floors. I also didnt like that there was no coffee in the room. On the day of checkout I found the galley on my floor where I could make instant coffee but had a weird hot water tap that said could dispense boiling water but I couldn't figure out how to make it that hot. And then there was a vending machine for ammenities which I found funny that offered slippers, I guess because the rooms and floors are so cold.

Excellent convenient location, but tiny rooms with no room amenities like coffee maker, fridge, microwave. Bathroom was right in the bedroom. Black hallways & depressing to walk in. Elevator worked well. Despite being told you could use the guest kitchen, we could only store in the fridge & had to have an employee let us in every time. Good laundry facilities. Free coffee stations in hallway. Connected to a mall. Despite several positive things, would not stay there again because of all the inconveniences and tiny room that felt like a prison cell, & we didn’t even reserve the smallest room!

Do not stay at this hotel on a Friday night ! The rooms are small but met all of my needs. However, on our last night the music from the bar downstairs vibrated the bed until 3:00 in the morning. This made getting up early for my flight difficult. It's absolutely ridiculous that I had to put up with that.

Room was cool with air con. but not cold. Nice hair dryer in room & nice toiletries with large quantity. Check in was a disaster

Chech-in took 75 minutes. No temporary parking to unload luggage. We found nearby street parking & I took some luggage to ckeck in first while my husband satyed in car. I came into hotel & found I was in a big bar. I found a sign says check-in is 1 step away with an arrow point up. I walked up staircases with my luggage & found it is another sitting area for the bar. I came down with my luggage & asked a bar tender where is front desk. She said it is the bar counter. After got into room, I washed hands & found sink plug was stucked & could not drain water. There is no telephone in room. I went down to front desk & spoke to the girl who checked me in. A guy beside her took a knife and was going to go up with me. I told him I felt uncomfortable with the knife, so he switched to a tonge. After some trying, he could not fix the plug. He said he would call front desk to change room for me and told me to go there. I went down & talked to the same girl, she saidthe guy did not call & they would not change room for me. So I sat there for a while and waiting the guy to call front desk. Then I talked to another staff. She also said the guy did not call and refuse to help me. So I aske for manager. Then the girl agreed to find a new room for us. I had to move my luggage from 1st room to 2nd. I wnet to our car & guided my hub to park. We followed hotel sign to elevator and got to shopping mall. No sign there at all. Carrying luggage wondering around till we met a security guy.
