My only very minor complaint is there is no hot pot available in the room for tea or coffee. (Felt like I was back in Las Vegas ) :)

I am usually a little skeptical of hotel breakfasts, and as an American, I am unused to the typical German breakfast of meats and cheeses. However, there were a variety of options at breakfast, and I was able to eat very well, even as a vegetarian.
The hotel courtyard is the star of this hotel. It was filled with hydrangea flowers and was such a peaceful place. I really enjoyed sitting out here surrounded by flowers with the birds chirping.

Two night stay while in town on business. Really like this hotel. It’s old school German, which I love! The room key is a real key with a big metal tag linked to it. The whole thing prob weighs a pound. You leave it at the front desk when you go somewhere and they cheerfully give in back when you return. The whole facility is clean and in great condition and good Wi-Fi. One of the best breakfast spreads I’ve had in a while. Staff is super attentive and helpful. One drawback is no gym (but that comes with old school). Location is excellent with 5-7 minute walk to train access and 10-15 minute walk to the old downtown action. I found two nearby brauhaus restaurants and loved both. Price is right, no complaints. Will return here on my next trip.

The breakfast was indeed truly amazing. There are many vegetarian dishes on offer, and many different meats and cheeses. Many little plates of some delicacy or another, so fun for small tastes. Great little yogurts and smoothies. Chocolate mousse and brownies with whipped cream. Seasonal fruit. The bread bar was outstanding.
I'd return to this hotel just for the breakfast! Very memorable and really a highlight of our stay.

They have a wet sauna and a dry sauna, which you need to reserve ahead of time, which was easy to do. My husband loved his hour in the sauna.
There is plenty of storage space in the room, which was very much appreciated. The cleanliness was great. I was grateful for the heated towel rack.
The detractions from a perfect stay were these:
The bed mattress sits within a wooden frame, not on top of a frame or box spring. This means that when you sit on the bed, your legs are pressed against the narrow edge of the wooden frame. Not at all comfortable.
The toilet is wedged between the wall and the sink cabinet, and you cannot spread your legs to clean yourself while sitting on it. Absolutely no room.
It was far enough from the HBF that we needed a taxi to help us get there in the snow.

Ideally situated in a quiet location but in close walking distance to trains, shops and tourist information. We received a warm welcome from the helpful staff and were shown to our deluxe room on the top floor. Breakfast was in a lovely room overlooking the courtyard garden, with outside dining available. It was our first visit to Stuttgart and we loved the blend of old and new architecture. Plenty of dinner venues and cafes nearby, with the added bonus of a wine festival in progress during our stay. We would highly recommend the Kronen Hotel for both business and pleasure visits.

Stayed 5 nights at the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, the breakfast is sumptuous, the wifi was smooth and fast. The room had AC and was very comfortable. The only thing which was missing in my opinion was an electric kettle. The location is great: few minutes of walk to University of Stuttgart, the main train station and about 10 minutes to Konigstrasse.

After searching for a reasonably priced room in Stuttgart for a business trip, I found Kronenhotel. It was a lovely respite on a long business trip. The front desk was warm and welcoming and very helpful. The room was clean and lovely! The breakfast had a wide selection of food and was outstanding. Location was perfect!! Kronenhotel is a great place to stay. Great location, wonderful staff, rooms are clean, and the breakfast was phenomenal. Just spent 11 days in Germany and Kronenhotel was the best hotel we stayed at.

Small, European style hotel close to the Hauptbanhof. The mattresses are very stiff, and foam-like, and small. Shower and bath was very small. One night here would be sufficient, but I wouldn't want to stay any longer than that. It is one block from a large hospital, so there are blaring sirens all day, everyday. This is an11-7 sleep place; business oriented hotel, not for a relaxing vacation. Staff was excellent, as was the breakfast and location. That's about it.

Hotel was reasonably close to the attractions I wanted to visit. Staff was welcoming and helpful. The immediate area is residential so pretty quiet. Bahnhof is a few blocks away so if travelling by train be prepared for a walk. Décor is mid-80's floral but comfortable, and baths have been updated. A good value and fine for a one-night stay. The best feature was the breakfast buffet which was one of the most elegant I have experienced in Germany.

I was truly surprised by this last minute booked hotel. Spacious room, clean, very helpful staff and well located in old town, a 10min walk (maybe not even) to HBF (main train station ) and Koenigstrasse.

The thing that stands out most about the Kronenhotel is the customer service - the reception team were OUTSTANDING. Not only were they efficient and kind but they also took time to help me track down my luggage that went missing between AMS and STR.
The bedroom is spacious and function; it is not luxurious but it has everything you need. The bathrooms have been recently done up.
There is a wonderful Italian restaurant called VALLE on Geschwister-something-strasse 3 blocks down from the hotel.

The hotel was in good condition and very clean. The elevator did not work when we checked in, but it was working the next morning. The staff was very helpful with directions and printed out a ticket confirmation for us. The breakfast was one of the most extensive and delicious we had on our 17 day trip. We enjoyed our stay.

Excellent stay in this family run hotel. Very friendly and helpful reception staff, lovely room (I was upgraded from a single to a double)very quiet. The breakfast choice is exceptionally good and there was never a problem getting a table - everything was replenishedwhen it ran out - lots of fresh fruit, smoked ham and fish,a good selection of pastries. A little way from the station up a bit of a hill but a very quiet neighbourhood with no traffic noise. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and would recommend it to friends

Great Hotel good value
Moved to this hotel after a terrible night at the Hotel Royal. The location is a few blocks of the beaten path but well worth the walk when you consider how quite it was at night. Very close to shopping and the Stuttgart HBF train Station only about 5 blocks to the U Line.
Got to the hotel early so they took my bag and told me room would be ready at around 2pm I got back at 2:30pm everything was ready and they had already put my luggage in

I was initially apprehensive about staying there as some of the guest photos were not very flattering. I was pleasantly surprised with my room. They've clearly renovated since some of those photos and everything was very European standard. Small bed, cozy room, and basic bathroom. This hotel does provide a full set of bathroom amenities and had plenty of closet space for my suits.
I noticed it was mainly Germans staying at the hotel and the breakfast was excellent. On par with other brand name 4 star hotels except no omelette chef in the front. Really pleasant staff and they have real keys for the doors.

Little Gem Convenient to HBF and Stadtmitte
Just a short walk to the main train station and the main city shopping district plus very near several museums, a lovely park, and the University of Stuttgart. It's obvious there has been a lot of renovation done to this property. Although our particular room was smallish, bathroom small, there are larger rooms available. We were there for only one night to celebrate the last weekend of the wine fest and didn't need a huge room. Furnishings are nice, light woods, bed is comfortable, there is a lighted minibar ecke (corner), small desk, reading lights mounted to the beds and flat screen -wall mounted TV. The toiletries offered are good quality. Reception personnel are so very friendly, one of the ladies at the desk even walked out to the street with us to show us where the attached parking garage is. Parking, btw, is billed separately but the hotel garage is very convenient and the cost is minimal. Internet is available, we didn't use it. Breakfast was included in our room rate. Breakfast room is beautiful, the breakfast laid out so nicely, everything is showcased professionally. Breakfast was wonderful with varied hot and cold offerings including nice desserts. Wait staff were friendly and very attentive, coffee refilled promptly, dishes cleared as you finished.
We will definitely stay at the Kronen again next time we are in Stuttgart - and highly recommend this property for anyone who needs to be downtown. English spoken.

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Die Zimmer sind gut gepflegt und wurden scheinbar, wie das ganze Haus in den letzten Jahren mal komplett überholt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch die Sauna im Keller ist gepflegt und für die Größe des Hauses gut dimensioniert.

At check in, staff could be more friendly and we had to pay for our 2 day stay immediately. Subsequently, we were asked several times if we wanted the room to be cleaned and if we wanted clean towels: YES we want a clean room and clean towels!! The hotel is situated close to the city center (10 min walk). The rooms need to be refurnished. Carpet floors are not very hygienic. The beds were somewhat uncomfortable. The A/C was insufficient to keep the room cool, but we could open the windows. The rooms had old fashioned room keys that had to be handed in at the reception desk when we went out. The parking has a very narrow entry which may be challenging for bigger cars.
