The room was very nice and clean. The environment inside the hotel was charming and cozy. The only downside is that there is no available parking on site and you have to park in a lot. that is pretty expensive if you want someone to actually look after your car with security. Otherwise you’ll have to park in a lot across the street from the hotel that is pretty sketchy and there is no security on site.

This place was awesome. Really unique perfect for couples. My brother and I booked it by accident but it was really cool. Staff was awesome and extremely helpful. The breakfast was killer. They had cream cheese and bagels with salmon, pastries, eggs bacon and sausage. Also can order ala cart items from the bar.

If you need to stay in Downtown LA it's perfect for a solo traveler, a little tight for two but doable if you are used to close quarters. Price was fantastic. Very close to The Last Bookstore (do not miss it!) Grand Central Market (recommend Villa Tacos and the little ice cream stand) Bradbury Building, The Broad, Walt Disney Symphony Hall and much more. However there are places you should not go as it's near Skid Row. Ask the staff and they will tell you where to avoid. You will see some homeless in the safer areas too. You just need some street smarts during the day and use rideshare at night and you'll be ok.

Listen. I’m sure there is someone out there, possessed by unique millennial verve, for whom this hotel is absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, I do not posses the citizenM spirit. Instead, I am a bitter old (33 year old) women and do not understand the features like having a front desk person whose only function is to tell me that they don’t have a front desk and that I should use the communal iPad instead, a shower with terrible water pressure that can be lit up in club colors for some reason, and a bed that is perhaps made of cement.

My overarching feeling is regret that I paid more than $200 a night for a TINY room with no dresser and nowhere to effectively store belongings (the underbed drawers are already full).
As a solo traveler i found the room decidedly cramped. I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a room so small. It was the size of a single room occupancy residential hotel.
However, the staff were really nice. They were the brightest spot of my stay. 😊
There is no parking. I hunted for street parking and found none. What this means is that one night I paid $30 to park until 11am directly across the street from the hotel - and $20 the next night about 1.5 long blocks away.
The psychedelic decor (for lack of a better term) made me dizzy & claustrophobic upon arrival. I’ve never had that response to a hotel in my life and I travel frequently. It was disorienting. I didn’t care for it.
The hotel made me feel old. And I’m only 44 years old.

The only thing that wasn’t for me is that in the room should be always fan turned on, no way to turn off. I don’t like when I have constantly going air on me. Maybe I didn't read the reviews carefully enough, but this is more of a capsule hotel than a regular-sized hotel. The room is fine for an overnight stay like ours. But we had trouble moving around, and we had to climb over each other to get into the bed. The width of the room was the width of the bed, which means the bed was flush with the wall on three sides. We had a total of 4 luggage that was a challenge to fit within the space. The sacrifice in living area was used to make the bathroom and shower area navigable. If you don't need a lot of space (like needing to constantly access your luggage), I would call the room cozy.
If you can live with that, the rest of the place was nice. Modern, clean, with a bar area which was where the add-on breakfast was served. There were places to work in the lobby and in the room, but I would have had trouble working in the room if I had to share it with anyone else. This hotel is very nice and the staff is helpful and friendly. The room is so nice with everything controlled with an iPad. You can adjust all the room settings for your comfort - it was very nice to sleep in! Totally dark, comfortable bed and temperature.

I got the room location based on it being quieter (room 410) so if that’s quiet I imagine the others would be hard to get a good nights sleep.
The area around the hotel is not so nice so not a place you want to walk around too much. The staff are good at recommending places to eat. The Blue Jam Cafe nearby is a good option.
