I am an amputee and I reserved an accessible room. When I got there I realized that it was a wheelchair accessible room and not a handicap accessible room. The beds were too low to the ground. There wasn’t a chair in the room to sit on. The carpet in the hallway was coming up, creating a trip hazard.

Im not sure that anyone wants to hear this but it has to be said. Overall the Moxy was well cared for and clean. Yet when I lifted the pillow there was an extra member in our room. Yes, it was dead and yes I did bring i to their attention. My only request was to please have the room double checked and linens changed. Left for graduation only to come back to find that it hadnt been done but the staff was in the hallway so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it would be taken care of before we get back from our afternoon out. Got home at 830pm and it was not dealt with and of course the cleaning staff was gone. Never again and we go to Springfield often since our son is there. The beds are horrible. My husband and I didnt sleep well and he woke up with hip and back pain. There is nowhere to sit other than your bed. You can hear everything that goes on in the rooms next to you. So if you are looking for a romantic place avoid this place like the plague. Coffee is fabulous and didn't try the food.

We didn’t get breakfast because we did not realize that there was an opportunity to do that. Nobody explained how that process worked. We did ask about it at check-in and then she forgot to explain. We noticed that there was nothing in the room that identified it so we just didn’t order any and we went to a restaurant around the corner. Which was a little frustrating because I did pick this hotel with the idea that we could get breakfast in the morning. The second thing that was just a little frustrating was we came into a new hotel new room and the faucet to the shower continually fell off luckily you were able to push it back in to get the water to turn on, but it continually would fall off out of the wall, making a very loud clinking noise. I did tell the staff when I checked out, but they didn’t seem to really care. I have pictures of it and plan to leave a longer review on the website for the cost of the hotel and all the amenities that said it provided I was kind of a little unhappy with a few of the things that were listed. I also do not like the $15 additional parking fee. I feel like that should be absolutely listed on the website so that you know what you’re up against. It sure felt like the front desk person was slipping that in without getting an opportunity to say no. Again little frustration with this.

This is the first time I've stayed at this hotel. I drove into town for a concert. First thing I noticed when I entered the building was that it smelled good! When I checked in, the employee was very friendly and helpful.
I made it to my room and oh my goodness it was so cute!! Compliments to the designer! It was clean, smelled good (no musty/dirty smell). There were hooks on the wall with hangers. I used the hooks to hang my coat and backpack.
The bed was comfy with ample blankets. The bathroom was clean and tidy. AND best off all....plenty of towels which were normal sized and soft! Not the half sized ones that are scratchy and removes the top layer of skin.

I definitely will use this hotel again. Rating is: A+++

Great location, comfortable and quirky. You can tell the hotel is older and has had updates but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooftop bar and outdoor seating area with gas fire pits was perfect for hanging out on a cool evening. Comfortable bed and very nice staff. We will stay again when visiting our MSU student.

I was incredibly dissatisfied with my stay at the Moxy. The room size, the lack of an actual chair with a back on it, incredibly inconvenient storage space for clothes, a plywood fold down from the wall as a desk or side table, a broken body wash pump that was not changed before I came for my stay, inconvenient hours for the rooftop bar and restaurant for breakfast or lunch…. was NOT in any way, shape or form worth the over priced $212 or so a night I spent. And that doesn’t include the extra I paid to eat at the restaurant and drink at the bar(s). The WORST part is the staff member who was condescending to me Sunday after my check out when I explained why I didn’t enjoy my stay (only because I was asked at check out). This person went out of their way to tell me how the property is actually bigger and better than ones around the country, the Moxy isn’t really for the kind of stay I was looking for, and if I wanted a chair with a back I should have just asked because as he said, “People just don’t know how to ask for what they need.” And offered me a banquet/events chair……. that’s insulting. I would NOT recommend the Moxy to anyone looking to spend money on a nice hotel to treat themselves. INCREDIBLY disappointing.

I will not be returning to this property and doubt that I will try another Moxy branded hotel. The rooms are designed for \"the hip crowd\" apparently. There is no seating in the room other than the bed, there is no place to put clothing other than pegs on the wall, there is one little tray/desk built into the wall to put your belongings and that is it. You could hear EVERYTHING from the hallway and outside (from the 6th floor) resulting in poor sleep. The \"front desk\" is actually the bar and the staff could care less about customers. No greeting or instructions upon check-in, just here's your room card. Check out was worse. The only words uttered to me that morning was \"do you want a receipt?\" No inquiry on how the stay was, no good morning, no safe travels. When friends visited us, the only drink made correct at the bar was the glass of wine that was poured. Parking in the wide open parking lot was overpriced. As you walk in the back door, there is a scent machine spraying some kind of mist. I would not recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay.

No refrigerator or coffee in room. Coffee is premade in the lobby. Twice the pot was empty. The breakfast I paid for was raw. Toilet was broke all wkend. My mom had to clean the drain in our sink because it would back up constantly. We took pics for proof. Id never spend my money there again. Way over priced for a dirty place with nothing to offer. Charged me $29 for a drink. Gotta pay for parking. My brother's room was dirty and used when they checked in
They actually sent him up to a dirty room. On the bright side the bed didnt hurt my back so thats my positive.

Staff was great but unfortunately it is so extremely noisy in the morning it’s hard to sleep pass 7am. The constant doors slamming, the fact that there is no sound proofing and the cleaning staff starts very early. Just wouldn’t stay here again. Such a cute building and the atmosphere is great but it’s very very noisy. They should definitely invest into adding sound proofing and door dampeners to help the problem. Very sad because I expect so much more from this stay based on the overall cleanliness and vibe of the hotel.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was kind with an easy, quick check-in. The only thing that’s keeping my rating at a 4/5 instead of 5/5 stars was that I had received checkin info prior stating the hotel had parking for $10/night. Upon arrival, the attendant in the parking lot told me parking was included, and then I was charged a $15/night parking fee. It’s not a lot of money or unreasonable for parking but I didn’t like that I was told 2 different things and then charged something else.

The hotel was very trendy and modern. Its was also fresh and new and the staff was very friendly. My only issue was the rooms were very small and decorated like a dorm room: no carpet, no closet, no ironing board, no desk, no chair. It was very new and clean ... but I felt like I was in a nice hostel or dorm room. I would have loved it if I was 20 years younger.

For the price and expectation of staying in a new Marriott property we felt the following items needed improvement:

Pillows—lumpy and small

The water at the sink was beyond scalding however the water in the shower constantly fluctuates between warm and cold.

The staff were gracious—but it did appear perhaps for New Years weekend (Sat morning) the bar was a bit understaffed for breakfast.

Grab and go coffee was empty

Breakfast menu was very disappointing as there were no options for plant based foods—I have a dairy allergy and there was very little I could eat. The staff did their very best to accommodate. Non dairy butter, non dairy yogurt, plant based breakfast meats, oatmeal—these are not big asks anymore. Consider the menu changes.

We did appreciate the bike storage, helmet lockers, lounge area and the lockers that held towels and other extras. Parking was reasonable too.

This is a nice hotel. My friend and I stayed there for three nights. The hotel style is a little industrial. And a little chic. The centerpiece of the room is the shower. (I mean, the room has a really well-thought out shower.) Parking is $10/day. Can't speak on the food or the bar bites as we didn't eat at the hotel. There is a rooftop bar, which is nice, but could use some music to add some life as it was dead when we went up there.

I'd stay here again.

We ended up here after weather related flight cancellations; many other properties were booked.

On the plus side: The staff was kind. The rate was fair. The Hotel was clean and well maintained. I appreciate modern decor and design but I just don’t get the vibe of this hotel which, I suppose, is designed to appeal to a younger techy set. The lobby area is more like a bar scene. If you are trying to squeeze in work, there’s nowhere to run from the loud music. The room is clean but utilitarian. No desk to sit at (except for a tiny and very lightweight aluminum folding table with a folding backless camping style chair). No luggage rack or place to slip a suitcase so you don’t stumble over it. A couple of hooks for your clothes with only 4 clothes hangers. And if you want to escape the music in the bar by retreating to your room, your only option is to sit in your bed. There is no chair to lounge or relax in. Clearly the room is designed to only sleep in; if you want to work, read or lounge, you will have to go to the bar. And if working or reading or lounging without thumping music is not your thing , you’re out of luck. I know there is a whole universe of people whom this appeals to; I just don’t happen to be one of them.

They charged my card, after I had already paid for my room. Decent stay, next time would go elsewhere.

Book Carefully-Odd/Uncomfortable Room Set Ups

The Moxy has a cool vibe and great staff. It is in a great location close to several dining options and Mo. State. BUT the double queen room has no chair/desk/minifridge. You get your own iron etc from a shared storage closet. The queen beds are head to head, against the wall. This means you have to CLIMB OVER your spouse to get out of bed. The Moxy charged is for parking without telling us. We ended up leaving the second night bc it wasn’t comfortable. I called to get my parking refunded, as we were not told and didn’t stay. They said they would refund the parking and room, but we are still waiting. I’d give it another shot in a different style room, if they honor their word.

The Moxy is my preferred Springfield hotel.

I’m in Springfield often for business and the Moxy is always my pick. Staff are great, both bars are good, and the rooms are nice. (It’s a little weird the rooms don’t come with chairs… but front of house will bring you one if you ask.) Property has a great scent program as well, I know that’s a weird call-out, but seriously, the place smells fantastic. Denis the GM is always active and around, and their F&B manager is great as well. Bar staff rock, and it’s close walking distance to restaurants.

Convent to all the restaurants and bars. Parking was easy and secure. Roof top was closed due to the weather but looked cool. Our room had a bad smell to it and the bathroom could have been cleaner. As other people have said, you could hear other guest. The hotel wasn't super full so it didn't effect us too much but I could see how it would bother others if it was full. The lobby and bar area was a lot of fun. Everyone was super friendly. Fun place to stay!

My room was the most modern one I've stayed at in a long time. The queen size beds were designed in such a way to offer both parties privacy in their space. The design of the room was functional and comfortable. The bathroom had a sliding entry door that was very different. My meal in the restaurant was different and delicious! I will be staying here whenever I come to Springfield to visit my son.

Very close to downtown so a perfect spot if exploring downtown Springfield or going to the Little Theatre. Wish the top floor area had been open but it was closed the Saturday evening we stayed.
