Booked this near motorway hotel to break up an overnight trip. Room fully paid in advance. Arrived at 1am to be told it was overbooked, and we and our family of 4 would need to find somewhere else. Receptionist was apologetic and helpful, but it took 30 mins to locate another room a further 50 minutes drive away. We then had to pay again for this and will now have to negotiate a refund of our prepaid room. No attempt was made to contact us beforehand to warn us there was an issue.

It's a Holiday Inn, expect the levels of service of a Holiday Inn. The teenage staff do not give a shizer about anything, every item of furniture in the foyer has a stain on, the breakfast is not monitored and items quickly run out. The rooms are ok, you get a bed and a shower.

Not bad for the night, Bedding and towels were clean. Negatives were birthroom was a little grubby round the edges and the sofa was lumpy as heck with all sorts of stains. Modern hotel rooms you expect to be able to plug in a HDMI cable to the TV not such luck hear at TV is boxed in. Common areas and Bar bright and clean, food was passable but a bit pricey and blatently just warmed up not cooked from scratch.

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of our trip and again at the end of our trip. Both times we had excellent service. The staff was wonderful. The breakfasts were good. The rooms were clean & comfortable. It was in a very nice location, close to the motorway, close to where our family stays. If there's any downside, it is that the hotel could use some updating, but that didn't detract from our stay at all. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and if we ever need a place to stay in that area, we would definitely return to this Holiday Inn. 10 stars!

Okay place to stay but not fabulous
So, this hotel was rated fabulous before I booked it....hmm not so fabulous really. I liked the location, lovely bath towels proper thick ones to wrap yourself in, comfy bed, spacious room. But, the hotel prides itself on cleanliness apparently - think you need to have a good look at this - I asked for the bathrooms to be cleaned each day but they weren't until the last one of our 3 day stay; I wasn't happy that my duvet had marks on it and asked for it to be changed - wasn't done until the last day. Breakfast definitely average and what's with the thin cheap toilet paper?? Also, how can a hotel run out of white wine and not serve food after 9pm from a stated service until 11pm?? Overall okay but definitely not fabulous.

Through this difficult time with being able to not have my daughter over covid lockdown I was able to have my daughter in the holiday inn due to my circumstances which eased mine and my daughters anxietys I really appreciate this thank you for you help over this difficult time all the staff made us feel comfortable and safe thank you again

There was spiders in the corners of the bathroom walls, the mugs for morning tea and coffee were dirty (clearly used before - I cleaned them myself and stains came off easily). Window wouldn't shut properly. An instruction manual for the AC would have been helpful too as it was freezing for ages before we got it to work. I had booked double room with sofa bed. 2 adults and my 15 year old daughter. At check in at 3pm, the room I was given was a double. I rang reception and was told that they do not have room for 3 ppl. Then they said if I could wait 15 mins, they can shift us to another room which needs cleaning first. After 30 mins, we were shifted to another room which had sofa bed for our daughter. However, as there were no cleaners, the receptionist quickly made beds and gave us the key. The room was not cleaned to standard. Also we had to ask for set of 3rd towels.

Everything you would expect from this hotel chain. It was clean and comfortable with good facilities. The breakfast was good and there was a reasonable choice of evening meals. It was very cold weather but the comfort heating in the room kept it warm.

Clean, modern and friendly with good access to M1. Good wifi. Breakfast is £10pp so drive 10mins to Saracens Head in Daventry where a huge breakfast is half the cost. Bar drinks are really expensive though : 2 glasses of wine and 2 pints of beer £24! Needless to say the evening bar was empty. Also use Bounds taxis (the recommended one wanted £20 for a 5 minute trip!).
