Nice room, public spaces are functional not particularly inviting, one of our party had a room with no air conditioning, in fairness the hotel doesn't list air-conditioning as a facility but I think most people would assume that a fairly modern building like this would have it. Also the aircon in our room would not respond to the temperature adjustments, so it was either on full blast or turned off, not ideal. Bed was comfortable, nice towels. I was quite impressed with the bar staff, they worked well together, but for a place of this capacity the bar seemed a bit small, maybe there's another bar we didn't find. Overall it was good, and reasonably priced.

Low quality hotel and setup. Rip off prices for F1 weekend with no service.
£500 for night with no breakfast included
No swimming pool
Whole place is tired and dated.
Only positive was view from hotel bedroom and large carpark.
Even the golf course was deserted which says a lot!
Not worth more than £100 per night

I booked through Expedia and didn't realise that even though it says the hotel has air con. That is only if you book a room with air con. Standard rooms don't have it. Our first roo. Had a meagre fan and smelt bad. However the staff were great and moved us to a room with air con and we were lucky as it was the last one!

But the bathroom was not clean. Had to get people to come and clean the bath which had scummy around it at the bottom and the room door was broken and the top.

I only booked this hotel because it has a pool and I have a bad back. But had to pay extra £20 per person which we decided not to do. And the breakfast was also am extra £20 per person. Which we didn't have as we had to leave early so
I would have been better of staying elsewhere.

The hotel area, landscape and grounds absolutely exceptional. Hotel inside is clean and tidy. which includes reception and the catering/dining section. Some other elements appear really dated e.g. carpets and stairwells, which make specific odours. The hotel I can see have done some renovations and furniture renewals which I assume with and overall plan to modernise further. The room was always looked after on request no issues there. windows in rooms we were in needed cleaning/replacing. Low humming noises which disturbed sleep and winding down. Staff reaction and action to requests were very good with a kind temperament.
The stay though was Lovely and great space for relaxing and \"getting away from it all\" - i would come back again.

Great location and hotel, a relaxing place to stay. The premisses was kept clean and in great condition.

The spa facilities was wonderful, it had a course to follow for a full experience.

The room I stayed in was clean and tidy. The interior was not the best, not very modern but satisfactory. Also, need to access the room I stayed by stairs from the first floor so might not be ideal for those with walking difficulties.

However, it was a great place to stay and the views and golf course are breath-taking!

Great bar food and breakfast with lovely ladies at breakfast but room needed an update. Iron only worked when you pressed the chord in, boiling hot overheated room, toilet took ages to fill, just not terribly modern and had paid for a suite so expected a decent standard without such issues.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, good parking and a pleasant reception area. Bowling was great fun and reasonably priced, and the lounge bar was a lovely relaxed space. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and a beautiful view over the lake and golf course.

However, communication around the spa was disappointing. It wasn’t clear at booking that the spa was an additional cost, operated on 2-hour slots only, or that robe hire was an extra £5 per person. I’d emailed in advance to book the spa but was advised to arrange it on arrival, which was difficult as it was Valentine’s weekend. Despite being advertised as having a hot tub, there wasn’t one, and the spa itself was quite small.

There were no room service menus in the room and the menu found online was outdated. Our suite was clean but dated with a car park view, and one side of the bed had no plug socket. Dinner was excellent despite limited menu choices. Our key card also stopped working before the 11am checkout time.

Overall, a pleasant stay with some great highlights, but clearer information and communication would make a big difference

Lovely hotel, staff were wonderful but you can not access any of the facilities without paying £20 for 2 hours. This was very disappointing as I booked the hotel for the facilities and wasn’t expecting the extra cost which apparently you have to read the small print in the t&cs to find out even though they are listed when booking the room. Other than that the food and staff were great. We did get put in room 139 and had to complain about the noise from the function room and another guest from 136 also ended up having to be moved so I would definitely check with reception when checking in.

I dont feel like this stay was value for money at all.
Both thermal suit and bowling were fully booked when i tried to book in advance.
The breakfast says it's served til 10.30, however we arrived at 09.50 and there was barely anything left, neither did the staff restock anything, eventhough the lady said she would. So i paid £20 for 1 sausage, 1 slice of bacon, a fried egg (because there was no scrambled and they didnt bring more sausages or bacon). And a bowl of cereal because all the fresh fruit and pastries had gone. The coffee was also premade in a thermal flask. Definitely outdated on that department.
The bed is very hard so i didnt sleep well at all and the walls are thin where you can hear people's phone ring in the next room. Theres no information in the room with regards to room service or menus.
The place is difficult to navigate.
I've stayed in much nicer places for less money, so very disappointed about this stay. We wont be returning or recommending it to anyone.

Sadly not a great review 😕 1st and last time

The view from our room was beautiful and the bed was lovely. The hotel was very clean and the temperature was comfortable. Ghe steak and chips for lunch which was very nice and fairly priced but unfortunately these were the only postives. We recieved a bit of a cold Reception upon arrival and I didn't see 1 member of staff smile the whole time we were there. The room had no bath mat and no bottled water for the kettle. The breakfast was just shocking but the hash browns were nice. The fire alarm went off just before 11:00am and the staff clearly were not trained properly for situation which was extremely concerning and frustrating. We stayed in a suite for about 200 for the night but it wasn't worth it and we would not stay here again.

Although staff worked hard and were always friendly and helpful we felt we were getting inconsistent messages. For example we were told we could only eat from a la carte menu in the restaurant but five minutes later we saw a group being served burgers from the bar menu.
The a la carte was limited with no change so not enough variety for a three night stay.
Breakfast buffet was disappointing. No mushrooms final day because of late delivery.
Only tea and a vat of coffee. Surely a place this size could manage a push button machines to allow a variety of coffee as Premier Inns do.
Beds were a bit lumpy and hard. Our room was only half cleaned one days…cups and glasses not washed. Our friends had a similar experience.
Overall a pleasant stay but wouldn’t go back.

On arrival late evening we had no hot water. This was only resolved 12 hours later when they finally moved us to another room. We should have been offered another room straight away. Whilst my partner had to work the following day I thought I would spend a nice relaxing time at the spa only after paying £20 to use the facilities for 2 hours found only the hydro pool working, one sauna broken, the other switched off as were the other 2 steam rooms. On asking for a refund as the facilities were not working was told they were unable to and I would have to email the holes chain. Also found that all the other spa treatments were fully booked up for a week in advance. If you are looking for a relaxing spa weekend experience I suggest you book weeks prior to your reservation or you will have a wasted trip as we both did. Also be aware of extra costs to use the facilities. On another note the restaurant staff were excellent and the food.

Very poor for a golf, spa hotel! On arrival we were put on 2nd floor and reception informed us lift wasn't working. When tried the water, we had no hot water the whole of our visit we there, just cold showers all the time.We were told by reception, the system is antiquated!! An enormous hotel complex within a golf course, comfortable and clean, but a bit impersonal when empty on a cold February weekend. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had the shower in the bath.
The spa was good at £20 for two hours especially as I had it to myself.
We ate in the bar on Saturday night, which had several menu options, rather than the vast empty dining room.
Nice views over the lakes and golf course but not somewhere to go walking.

Very noise room, knocking radiator all night and a very early wake up by the geese so really not a good night sleep. Saved by a very lovely lady in the breakfast room called Vicky who was an absolute ray of sunshine. Big thank you to her for making my morning ☺️

Hotel is extremely tired. Corridor up the the room smelt of damp. Room was freezing cold and had to get someone to come up and fix the radiator.
Hotel was full of loud groups. Food was bland and expensive for what it was. Would never stay again.
