Tomik was a friendly and professional host who stayed for our late arrival and provided a warm welcome to the castle. Our stay was only short but everything was there including free continental breakfast. The turret had great views over the countryside and could park the car in front. Recommend to everyone for an experience of staying in a castle.

We spent a night in the castle during the weekend. They have a nice double-room apartment in the tower, perfect choice for a family of four/two couple of friends.

We loved the idea of staying in a castle and that in itself was magical. We stayed in the Cromwell Suite which is big. The kids loved the extra room to roam. The high ceiling in the living/2nd bed area was nice and contributed to the majestic feel.There were however a few things that could have been better. When we got there they did not have the room ready because they thought there were only 2 of us. Our reservation was for 2 adults and 2 kids. When we walked in the room the housekeeper seemed upset that she was having to make the 2nd bed and annoyed at us for being in there even though it was already 6pm, past check in time. They also only had breakfast for 2 we ended up having to ask for me but only got a few more things. Speaking of the breakfast, it was continental only. No real place to sit we had to sit on the carpet and the kids being kids kept dropping crumbs all over the place. It didn’t seem liked the place was vacuumed daily and I kept finding old crumbs every morning. This could easily be remedied by providing a hot breakfast in the restaurant that is just down stairs.
Also we stayed in the Cornwall Suite which is right above the bar. In the room with the bedroom it is really really noisy. Some mornings the music was turned on really loud starting at 8am and wouldn’t be turned off until 10pm. The other suite that must be behind is also easily heard if those guests are loud. There’s so much stomping up and down the stairs. The beds were lousy they dip in the

The room was cosy and warm lots of little extras and nice touches. Just across a paved area from the restaurant and bar, but no noise at night. Food in the restaurant was good, have been here for a meal before and always enjoyed it. I was there for a wedding and the lady in charge was so helpful and couldn’t have done more

We stayed at The Castle to attend a wedding in the area. All staff were friendly and efficient. Dinner and breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. Our room was clean and comfortable but could have benefited from a better facility for hanging clothes. A quirky building with wonderful views.

Following an unsuccessful scroll through Airbnb we had a look on Expedia and stumbled across Castle at Edgehill with late availability. We booked the room with the four poster bed which we learned was named Rupert. On arrival we were greeted by bar staff and shown to our room. Our room was in the turret. The stairs were steep to access the room (wouldnt recommend for anyone with mobility challenges). The views from the room were incredible and the team had left a breakfast hamper aswell as milk, juices and yoghurt in the mini fridge. The room was a great size, clean and had everything we needed. We had dinner both nights in the restaurant and the food & service was exceptional. We had a brilliant stay and are already planning our return. Thanks Castle at Edgehill for a brilliant stay!

We stayed at the Castle Hotel last night, and while the location and Castle Superior Suite were beautiful and spacious, the check-in experience left much to be desired. After a four-hour drive, we were hoping for a warm welcome, but the receptionist was unwelcoming, simply asking for our name and signature without any friendly interaction. Despite this, the overall stay was pleasant, and my daughter loved the room.

This castle did not disappoint! From the outside it appears like a \"real\" castle (because it is/was). But the inside has modern decor and amenities. The beds were super comfortable. Check in/out was easy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was AMAZING! I have 3 teen daughters and they had a fun time doing a castle photo shoot. So many cute nooks and scenery. Historic and quaint. Not the place to come if you want modern or a night life. You’re 8 miles from town with no easy way to get there. (We took a taxi). But it was beautiful and exactly what we were looking forward to—the English countryside.

Our family of 5 stayed here for 1 night. My children loved staying in a castle! The staff was very nice, especially the bartender who checked us into our room. Beautiful views of the area from the dining room. We stayed during the weekend so had the pleasure of the full English Breakfast. The suite was updated nicely with the exception of the flooring. And the shower caulking was in dire need of replacement as it was black all around the shower pan. We did appreciate the sofa bed and cot being set up prior to our arrival and my kids loved the free juice in the fridge. The parking could be challenging as they have a small lot and was full when we arrived, although this was during the dinner rush so probably a big part of it. Definitely a unique stay.

We stayed at the Castle for the 2 nights before my wedding at Hadsham Farm Weddings. We ate dinner in the pub/restaurant, and had continental and cooked breakfast. The food was delicious on all occasions, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the rooms were beautiful. We've already recommended the hotel to others to stay and we will definitely be back

Overall an enjoyable stay; but 1 - check-in time is totally inflexible (we flew in overnight and we’re up for over 24h when we arrived, exhausted) and 2 - the bathroom had an unpleasant smell (a bit like cat urine?). Once checked in though, the room was spacious and comfortable. The grounds unique and historic and the staff was great!

I was in the Sir Jacob Astley suite which was lovely. The only fault I had was even with lights on the bathroom and dressing table area was very dark so I ended up doing my makeup by the front door. I appreciate the darkness may be caused by the renovation work with the scaffolding etc outside the window by the dressing table.

I was more than a little concerned on Sunday night when I realised I was probably the only person staying at the Castle - no other cars in the parking lot and Castle dark. I was in the Vesey room with a glass door directly off the driveway. Not a safe feeling. The property is unique and the view incredible.

Amazing stay in the superior suite. Great price. We stayed and ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely. Staff were very friendly and accommodating especially Gracie behind the bar what a lovely lady!!

Really great and quirky building with lovely staff, lots of amazing features and views to die for. Slightly surprised by the DIY Continental breakfast (but the ingredients were very good). Very sadly disappointed that the mattress was not at all comfortable. We had a superb afternoon tea at the hotel and some great local walks. Would certainly recommend if the mattresses were all upgraded to a Premier Inn standard at least!

Food at the restaurant was good but the quality of the room, its cleanliness and condition was very poor. Black mould in the shower, terrible water pressure from a poor electric shower which tripped the electric. The vinyl flooring was not secured so was torn and bunched up in areas, the shower riser rail was broken and it is in no way worth the £101.00 fee. Nice location and the staff were pleasant but somewhere that could be great is just run down and poorly maintained. Food was very good in the restaurant but the room let it down.

The mats were really dirty and would not expect to find this in hotel of this price range.

Beautiful place with very hard working, dedicated service team and an amazing chef. I would have to work hard to find a criticism but one tiny thing that we found difficult is that there is no natural air in the accommodation: only a humidifier, an extraction fan and a couple of convection radiators, which creates a dry and slightly uncomfortable atmosphere. Offsetting that though, was the opportunity to stay in a unique historic building and enjoy the very highest quality of service.

Cromwell suite was very roomy. The housekeeping cupboards for the hotel are located in there...so best to be out between 10 and noon! Loved the pub!!

A lovely stay in a castle tower
We booked this as we needed somewhere close to family and wanted a night away four months after lockdown. The team were very welcoming and very clear about what they put in place. We even went into the one way garden and had a pint and some chips. They have an outdoor bar and the menu looked good but we didn’t have a full meal. The room was lovely and in such a quirky and unique building with fantastic views. It was very clean and there was extra sanitiser and soaps available. They had put a continental breakfast in a mini fridge in the room and there was a coffee and tea maker. We simply left our key in the room in check out and I sent them a message to say so.

Quirky hotel needing new beds
The accommodation has a wow factor as you walk in to your room but unfortunately the bed is a big let down. The mattress had seen a lot of better days and creaked with every move which was very disappointing and left us feeling unrested and with sore joints by morning.
All of this is a great shame because the style of accommodation is delightfully quirky and the food served in the restaurant is both well cooked and good value.

As expected in an historic building, the original features are not to current standards, particularly the single glazed windows which had a lot of condensation in the morning, but the view from the room is exceptional. The spiral stairs need careful negotiation, particularly with heavy luggage, so care is needed.
The restaurant is very pleasant and the food excellent.
