The room was very spacious and had a great view. We only were disappointed in lack of professionalism in staff. At the breakfast, we found the young employees hogging a coffee machine, chitchatting. No regard to guests who paid for the breakfast, not as a part of their fringe benefits (I am assuming that staff can eat the same breakfast as guests at this hotel?).
Only driveway to the parking was extremely steep and scary. A lot of water damage in the room and building. Very awkward building structure (“new” addition to the existing building?).
Overall, it was a pretty nice experience except the young employees prioritizing their breakfast needs over paying guests.

The hotel appeared empty so why they placed another guest in the room above us who seemed to have the same feet as a baby elephant, and opened their squeaky balcony door every 30 minutes throughout the night, I will never know. Not helped by our toilet screeching for 3 minutes after a flush.

A big disappointment
Quite disappointing given the previous reviews. Lots of noise from furniture above until very late, (the public terrace was directly above), very thin door to the corridor meant guests leaving/returning to their rooms made a mockery of \"sound proofed rooms \", the air conditioning was in huge need of a filter clean it was so pathetic, the \"free\" lobby coffee was WAY below the National Portuguese standard, several bulbs weren't operational, bedding much better at other establishments although the king size mattress was a bonus, no net curtains meant no privacy unless the blackout was drawn, inferior free shower gel and a very squeaky wooden floor (so senseless in a hotel room \"purporting\" support quiet rooms...

The air conditioning doesn't work. It was near 40 degrees outside and about probably 32 in our room when the outside temperature cooled off at night. The staff was kind enough to bring us a fan, but our stay on a hot day in August was very uncomfortable. They said they have one AC blower for the entire premise, and it barely was cooler that the room temperature.

This property is set in the foothills above Setubal and is a 20 minute walk into town. Not a bad walk, but it is entirely uphill (back to the hotel). The hotel itself feels weary and tired. The grounds and building are not kept up to date. Rooms are OK, but very dated and show wear and tear. Staff is not engaged or welcoming. They felt very indifferent towards us as guests. I would recommend staying closer to the waterfront, with improved walkability to markets and restaurants.

The property is a gorgeous place, but is somehow abandoned in many areas! Needs a lot of improvement and outside terraces and areas need cleaning in all areas. Rooms, bedss and pillows are the best. This hotel was excellent overall. The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. The room was wonderful. We booked a triple room and it had a little sitting area along with a bedroom. The bar and other amenities were excellent as well. Great location. All around happy with this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel one night which is a 10 minute walk into the town. It was comfortable and had a 360 degree view from the restaurant. Lovely breakfast. Good parking facilities. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a bit of an odd layout, the reception is on the 4th floor because it is situated at the top of a hill and the rooms are spread out on lower & higher floors. The overall decor of the hotel is kind of dark, especially in the lower floors. We were staying on the 2nd floor and it kind of felt like the room is in a basement with very little natural light in the hallways. Also the area that the hotel is in seemed a bit sketchy. Otherwise, the room was clean and the staff was very helpful.

Underrated and terrific value for money. The staff were all lovely and charming- without exception. We had a large twin room with balcony overlooking the town, the port and the sea- fantastic! There is a restaurant, a rooftop seating area and a bar. the restaurant is at the very top with views in all directions. Lots of choice at breakfast.Spent three days exploring the local area. It's a walk into town, or a bus if you don't have a car. We had rented scooters, so no problem. The highlights were the dolphin watching and the beaches of Troia, which is a short ferry ride away.

Nice hotel. Our room needed was a bit rundown. The AC appeared not to work well and out balcony overlooked the garage area, so it got noisy at times.

it´s definatelly not a 4 star hotel!
We stayed at this hotel because we only needed a plce to spend the night... if that is your motivation, then it is fine. People are friendly, the rooms are clean and confortable, the breakfast is terribly bad, and it could have been a 4 star hotel but now it is merely a 3 star. Still it served it´s purpose in my particular case.

The views are inspiring. The hill up to the hotel is pretty steep. It is best to have a car, but if you want wine with your meal at one of the many good restaurants in town (we thoroughly recommend the \"Novo 10\", Ave Luisa Todi) there are two bus services (609 and 612) that stop within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. We loved our stay at this Estalagem, the room was very clean and more than adequate for our needs with a nice sunny balcony looking out over the Sado estuary and the Troia peninsula. It is worth going up to the hotel's rooftop restaurant just for the views. Breakfast a bit limited, but is available until 10.30am.. The area has much to attract the visitor. The people are friendly and helpful. Enjoy your stay.

O hotel é antigo e ainda não passou por reforma em todas as áreas. O quarto é velho, com banheiro em más condições e sem reformas. O banho é prejudicado pela cortina da banheira, que bloqueia a entrada de luz, resultando em um banho praticamente no escuro. O banheiro apresenta rachaduras e falta de rejuntes. A manutenção dos quartos é precária. Tínhamos reserva para dois quartos e ambos apresentavam as mesmas condições.
O ar-condicionado não funciona adequadamente, deixando o quarto excessivamente quente, especialmente no verão. Tivemos muito calor para conseguir dormir.
O controle da televisão estava quebrado, com pilhas oxidadas de tão antigas, o que impossibilitou o uso.
A limpeza do quarto é insatisfatória. A roupa de cama e as toalhas apresentavam cheiro desagradável.

Esse hotel é bem diferente das fotos postadas nos sites de reservas. Áreas externas muito sujas, sem manutenção alguma, não existe mais as coberturas dos guarda-sóis, só a ferragem, sofás e poltronas sem almofadas e com estrutura comprometida, jardineiras tomadas pelo mato e pedaços de tábuas quebradas e largadas por toda a área de lazer. Restos de podas de árvores amontoadas a frente dos quartos, e as varandas dos quartos precisando urgentemente de faxina e pintura, tudo está abandonado e com evidência de mofo e descaso. Sistema de luzes de emergência não funciona, ficamos no escuro, não tem gerador de energia. Apenas uma lanterna de cabeça nos foi oferecido. O quarto não tinha sido preparado até as 16:00 horas só sendo tomado uma providência quando falei que não admitia tamanha falta de respeito. Banheiro relativamente limpo e cama aceitável. Café da manhã simples porém bom. Com certeza ninguém da administração dessa rede de hotéis se deu ao trabalho de visitar e por conta própria interditar. Uma lástima.

L’hotel è molto bello, apparentemente situato in una zona periferica ma in realtà in una posizione aperta e panoramica una volta raggiunto. Camere ottimamente arredate, ampie e tranquille. Posto che il check-in ha potuto avvenire solo alle 16, pur essendo arrivati all’hotel verso mezzogiorno, sarebbe stato apprezzabile che i bagagli fossero stati fatti trovare in camera. Ma nel complesso esperienza molto positiva, e sicuramente eccellente rapporto qualità/ prezzo. Consigliabile senza dubbio.
