I had a wonderful 3-night stay at InterContinental Hanoi Westlake. The hotel is beautifully located over the lake, offering peaceful views and a relaxing atmosphere away from the busy city. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and professional, making the stay feel effortless from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi.

Great complex built on a lake on concrete columns however it is not a new complex and bit outdated, if you are looking for a modern new hotel, this is not for you.
Our room and bathroom was a good size with a large balcony which had a table and 2 chairs.

Staff were very nice and friendly, we found in Vietnam people are very friendly and kind, we haven’t had a bad experience during our 3 weeks trip last year and 2 weeks into our almost 3 weeks trip.

My stay at InterContinental Hanoi Westlake was excellent. The location is peaceful and perfect for a relaxing trip, with beautiful lake views and easy access to nearby cafes and walking areas. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and professional. Room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable throughout my stay.

Breakfast was great overall with plenty of variety, though I wish there were more halal options available. Aside from that, everything was perfect, and I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Hanoi.

The location is 8/10 as it’s a taxi ride to the old quarter but after a couple of nights there you’ll be glad for the tranquility of the hotel.

The breakfast was an amazing thread, with foods from all over the world, representing many cultures. The drink options were expansive, with several juices, teas, coffees, different milk (skim, low fat, whole). They also had a cook that would make you any kind of egg you wanted, including eggs benedfict, upon request. Very nice.

Ive been to many other intercontinental hotels, and this one is quite disappointing. This property needs some upgrade.. i believe 5 star hotels should always keep up with maintenance of their property. Room have a moldy smell and ac dont work well. The water also have a scent when turned on in the shower. The outside of my room have bugs… / lizards.. bed have smekk and very uncomfortable. For a kingsixe room that was bookeed, two twin beds were combined therefore theres a gap in between. Very uncomfortable for my husband and i.
Willl not be returning to this one as much as i would love to .

We booked a stay at the hotel 6 years ago for a honeymoon that we didn’t mange to make it due to a war conflict in our country and it was nice to finally come to the hotel snd vietnam

An amazing service in an amazing location! We'd managed to accidentally double book, but the staff offered to refund one, even though they didn't have to! Breakfast was exceptional, massive choice and quality. We also dined in their Saigon restaurant, which is well worth a visit. Take mozzy spray, the lake does attract these unfortunately - the hotel does have plug-in repellents and flyscreens on the patio doors, but the odd one will still get in. The views and room are worth the risk, so don't let this put you off!

Would recommend - great base for exploring Hanoi

We really enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental West Lake during our time in Hanoi. It was the perfect base for travelling with our toddler - after a busy day exploring the city it was nice to return to the peace and tranquility. The hotel was really accommodating and service was great. They even surprised my husband with a cake as an early birthday present which was a very thoughtful gesture.

The property was dated. The service staff was great as always, but the rooms need to be upgraded right away. The Wi-Fi needs to be 5G not 2.4. It's 2025, not 1995.

If IHG Prides itself on quality, then read this review and spend the money to restore this property to what the traveling public comes to expect when staying at an IHG property.

The property was is a good location about 10-15 mins (depending on traffic) away from the Old Quarter where there is an immense amount of local shops and food vendors. It is still in the heart of Vietnamese history. The Lotte Mall is great and close by. Also they have an independent travel agency inside that has tours (private or group) that can fit you preferences. Room service always arrived quickly. Staff were extremely polite and friendly.

We like the location, the excellent pool, the very good restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the very helpful staff.
The standard of the room was not up to par. The carpet was full of dust and under the carpet it looked like it had never been vacuumed. In our opinion the standard of the room must meet the hotel rating and is not worth the price charged for staying at this hotel.

Lovely staff and hotel

The room was spacious, a bit dated but the bathroom was exactly as the pictured showed - luxurious! The balcony on the waterfront is so pretty although there is not much of a view of the city. The staff are so polite and accommodating. The breakfast was one of my favourites! And the Saigon restaurant staff and staff at the Italian restaurant treated you like kings and queens, thank you to the lovely staff who served us.

An upmarket five star hotel built partly into the Westlake is this very well maintained Hotel about half an hours drive from the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Has pretty much everything one would expect of a hotel in this segment. Seeing the sunset at the Sunset Bar (on site) with a sunset martini was special. Was disappointed with a couple of issues:
1. You get woken up by the break of dawn ( which can be an issue if you were hoping for a lie in) as the windows are only furnished with a Roman shade that let’s plenty of light in. The absence of a sheer curtain means it’s a see-all from the outside.
2. The Indian station at the breakfast buffet was a disgrace! The attempted minuscule medhu vada was deepfried to being burnt, the poha was flavourless, the puri got the same deep fry burn as the vada. The remaining breakfast options thankfully were a delight. Perhaps the Indian station can be removed!
3. The rigid booking and reservation policy. Unwieldy even to Expedia’s frustration. So stark compared to some of the smaller players who would listen to the rationale and try and help. But not with IHG.

처음 온 하노이에서 지낸 첫 호텔. 매우 훌륭한 호텔리어와 서비스는 멋진 경험. 새벽의 잔잔한 호수 소리, 하루를 풍성하게 맞이하게 할 조식, 뜨거운 햇살 아래 썬 배드와 야외 풀, 그리고 붉은 노을이 지는 선셋 바. 호텔에 대한 특별한 경험을 줄 수 있는 곳으로 기억될 것 같다. 노후화되었지만 부실한 것이 아닌 엔티크한 매력을 느끼기 좋다. 만약 하노이에 다시 온다면 이 호텔을 선택할 것이고 그것은 전부 호텔리어들의 친절 덕분이다.
P.S. Overwater room에서는 Gecko의 출현을 조심해.

Stay overall was nice. Sunset restaurant went an extra mile to accommodate us for a late dinner. Room was good.
The only negative was the check out experience. We were in a big hurry as we were late for our flight and the check out staff did nothing to help. Rather delayed the final billing due to a confusion at their end

Located in a quiet area, but far from the key areas for fun. I was aware of this while booking the hotel but it was actually not the most convenient once I arrived at the destination. Hotel is okay, not as nice as the pictures. Facility was kind of outdated. If you are visiting for just a few days as a traveler, I recommend staying in the Old Quarter area instead.

It’s 20 years old property. Not maintained well and condition of the property is terrible. They has maintained only the reception lobby and restaurant.

Rooms are too small and lot of lizards and mosquitoes.

Do not recommend to this property at all.

Not worth for money. Great, if hotels.com consider refunding partial.

Very nice hotel and staff. Great coffee and breakfast service. The hotel grounds are peaceful. The roads outside are chaotic and dangerous— walk with extreme caution. Or better yet stay inside the hotel grounds. I didn’t try the pub but I tried both restaurants for supper and they were very good. In particular the waitress in The Saigon (unfortunately I didn’t get her name) was very helpful after I ordered a Vietnamese Black Chicken (google it!). She showed me what a mistake that would have been and suggested a tasty alternative.
Two suggestions: install spring-loaded toilet seats, and some kind of soft-close mechanism on the doors to minimize the noise.

This place is absolutely spectacular. We stayed here for three nights. The morning buffet was to die for. After a day walking around in Hanoi you will appreciate how quiet it is on the lake. Staff couldn't do enough for us… Highly recommend staying here.

The Hotel could do with a little rennovation but overall loved our stay here and have no qualms about staying here again. Staff was amazing from the moment we arrived to when we left and can't ask for more from them.
