CASA LUNA HOTEL & SPA IS PARADISE CLOSE TO ARENAL VOLCANO 🌋 THE ROOMS WERE SO SPACIOUS EVERY STAFF MEMBER I SAWW SPOKE TO ME WITH A SMILE AND ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION I HAD , The property is soooo beautiful from the lush gardens and exotic plants and birds ! The pool and the jacuzzi placed throughout the property hidden by beautiful plants is amazing you feel like you are in middle of the rain forest relaxing ! BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING EVERYDAY FRESH FRUIT 🍉 REAL FRUIT !!!! And hot and cold options everyone can enjoy and the Omlet station was a great addition as well. The trail on the property that takes you the creek ia unreal I walked it everyday and saw something new each time. The rooms were so clean and the bed was comfortable I didn’t want to get up. This was my first time in Costa Rica I will be coming. To stay at Casa Luna again . Also when you stay walk off property and see the town it’s so beautiful and peaceful and the locals are so friendly! Make sure you support them !!!

The staff were amazing and the room always seemed to get organized and cleaned super well. They helped getting us a taxi to take us to different parts that we liked to go too. Also, the spa was AMAZING, we got it at 7 pm, so obviously it was already dark but the scenery and the nature noises made it even more relaxing. The location is very peaceful and calm, which is perfect for relaxing after a long day of activities.

Our family loved our stay here. The grounds are amazing, especially the trail behind the resort. Breakfast was good and the staff was amazing. Our room was very clean. My only complaint is that the hot tubs were not very hot. Maybe 85 degrees. In the states, we are used to temperatures around 100-105. A suggestion would also be to have a few more hooks in the room so we could hang wet clothes after being out in rain. We would stay again.

Absolutely loved this property! I was only $2-4 Uber ride to La Fortuna. I think it’s a perfect place to relax. We had fantastic view of the volcano! I would recommend this place and stay here again!

Truly a special property. Lots of attention to detail in everything from the breakfast buffet to the landscaping. At Casa Luna we felt like we were right in on the action with so many birds and wildlife spotted even from the patio. The walking trail is also beautiful and a perfect way to start the day since so many animals are out in the morning. We would gladly stay here again on our next trip to La Fortuna. Housekeeping was on top of things making sure our room stayed tidy and we had fresh towels. Amazing experience overall.

An absolute gem hidden in the rainforest! We came for five days to experience central Costa Rica, and Casa Luna offered it all. We loved the hot pools at the resort, and also had a massage at the Luna Spa, which was incredible. Everything was so reasonably priced. We booked a combo tour to see the Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna Waterfall, and the hanging bridges- and the tour company was based at the hotel so they picked us up in the lobby. Our tour guide, Minor, was so knowledgeable and was just and incredibly kind human. Casa Luna was the perfect resort for a wonderful vacation. It was clean, the pools were so relaxing, the restaurant was great, and it was central to everything we wanted to do. We will definitely be back!

The property was clean, and AC worked well. Location was very central to all excursions. Entrance street is nice. WiFi was spotty inside room and not enough hooks or drawers to organize our clothing. I recommend the staying here. Breakfast was great.

It's in a great location. Very convenient for different activities. The property is very clean and beautiful with lots of greenery.
The free breakfast was excellent! Lots of yummy fruits and other many choices!
Hot pools were nice!

The onsite restaurant have amazing food. The price is reasonable. Every dishes were artically crafted and delicious. We ate every night there. It was a pleasant surprise!

The room are out dated . We had an activity every day but at night when we wanted to watch. Tv there are only 20 channels. And half blurry.. no apps to connect. And WiFi only works near the lobby or cafe. Everything from spa . Food and snacks were overpriced. A can of soda $5 . At the spa i paid $82 I had bugs on me every 2 mins. I couldn’t relax. The massage it was weak I ask 4 times to apply pressure but since the oil they use was very thick and slippery the masseuse kept sliding her hands. Also can burn 3 times with the rocks . We looked for other spa and found one for $35 I wouldn’t come here again and recommend to check out other hotels .

Casa Luna property is beautiful, lush and full of wildlife. Rooms are comfortable with nice bedding and spacious shower. Volcano view was perfect from room and dinning area. We ate breakfast and dinner at their restaurant and really enjoyed every meal.

Beautiful property set in a lush tropical surrounding. The property also has a walking path set amongst trees and a small stream. Beautiful mountain views and amazing mornings, awakening to the sounds of all manner of birds, frogs and other animals.
Excellent buffet breakfast with a wide variety of hot and cold food and drink options. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The food in the restaurant at dinner time was excellent, the pool and private jacuzzis were perfect, the drinks and food were so good as well. The lil sendero trail was an added bonus on the grounds. This a beautiful hotel to stay at when you want to be in touch with your nature side. The location is good, we realized it was close to the major tourist spots, so most tour buses are able to pick up from here. We did the massage which was very nice, amazing environment and worth the money 100%. The hot springs are the star of the show. But Some were warm and some were cold. The restaurant in the hotel, menu is okay but very pricy. We ended up going to the Soda which is a 5 minutes walk. The WiFi was very spotty. They have TVs but Netflix and other things don’t work due to the low WiFi.

We loved the outdoor area with the pools and hot tubs, it was a beautiful property. The breakfast was very good each morning with enough variety.
Our room was a bit small for 4 people and luggage but doable. Understanding we are in the jungle but had a couple cockroaches in our room during our stay that freaked us out a bit. Other than that, it was a wonderful place to be for a few nights

We loved their buffet style breakfast especially because it slightly changed daily. You’re not stuck eating the same thing everyday. The breakfast was fantastic and we loved the omelette bar. The dinner was also really good, everything was super tasty.
The grounds were so beautiful and there is a small walking trail that also was beautiful and like walking through the forest. Location was also so close to so many food spots and things to do.
We loved the pools they had available which have jets but wish they were heated.
The rooms itself were nice with an amazing balcony but not the best view of the mountain as we’re kind of further away and there are trees in the way but still amazing views, lovely overall. The windows of the room were so clean it looked like you were looking straight out into the view. I wish they had a few updates with the lighting in the room which can make the room look dingy at nighttime. The tvs are small and I wish they had streaming apps but not the biggest deal. One other thing that was hard was wifi, we didn’t have good service as expected and the wifi in the rooms were extremely slow. I asked the staff about it and they said the WiFi works well everywhere but the rooms which didn’t make much sense to me. But it was still fine, I told them I was working remote and if there was somewhere I could work and they actually had a designated office room that was quiet and allowed me to work and take meetings with no problems which was really amazing.
The staff were diligent and cleaned the room very well and helped with any requests we had!

The stay was a highlight of COSTA RICA travel. This property gives you a chance to enjoy the combination of a wonderful hotel stay (with breakfast included) and hot springs. Take time and enjoy hot springs in combination with cold water swimming pools. You can spend 2-3 hours in the evening, and same time in the morning just after your breakfast.

The floor in the room was squeaky clean. That’s not a euphemism. My trainers literally squeaked when I walked. This is a ‘rustic’ property. It’s clean and well maintained but it’s not new or flashy. It’s not very close to town, but Ubers were easy to get and not expensive. Breakfast was good but not over the top. If you need a clean place with a quirky, earthy vibe, this works well. If you need constant attention and servers at your beck and call, you probably should look elsewhere.

A lovely hotel with a nice pool area. This is a great base if you're around the La Fortuna area as you're close to it without the bustle and traffic of the town. Breakfast was great and varied. View of the volcano was the best. Our room was too small for 4 people, only really one place to store a suitcase. Pillows weren't comfortable either. Otherwise though, a nice stay. Restaurant is expensive - go out and discover some of the lovely places to eat in the area. Tiquicia/ Soda & Restaurante Rodriguez were our favourites.

My only “complaint” would be May be the high prices in the restaurant for dinner. But you have sodas nerby! I loved the location of this place to! I would come back for suuuure !!!!!

It was spotty in places in shared areas and was only accessible on the balconies. Extending the wifi to the rooms would make this the perfect stay.

This hotel gives the feel of being inside the jungle but only 10 min drive from La Fortuna city. We saw toucans, lizards and could hear howler monkeys right outside our rooms. If you don’t have a car, uber is extremely affordable and convenient. Get the breakfast buffet add on, the food is delicious and changes daily. Fruit loops and pancakes for the kids and traditional Costa Rican food for the adults. Staff are extremely friendly and helped me book all my transport and tours through WhatsApp ahead of my stay. Rooms are very comfortable with aircon. I would recommend this for animal lovers who still want the luxuries of a modern hotel.

Cons:
We paid for a \"mountain view\" room but did not have a view of anything.
Wifi is basically nonexistent and there is barely any cell reception. No interet is a big problem and should be corrected.

We loved our stay at Casa Luna. It’s an absolute oasis. Beautiful rooms, big beds, everything is clean and taken care of. We loved the pool area with all the hot tubs. Breakfast was delicious - wide variety of vegetables, fruit, hot buffet, cereal, pastries, fresh omelettes. The staff were amazing, too. Location is also perfect - 5 mins drive to La Fortuna for all the shops and restaurants, 10 mins drive to the La Fortuna Waterfall, 45 min to Arenal, 60 mins to the Mistico Hanging Bridges.

Wonderful spot in La Fortuna. Quiet but convenient to downtown restaurants and spots like the Waterfalls and the rope swing. Volcano views. The property has a charming nature trail you must walk in the morning. Pools were all nice and clean. Breakfast was great with variety every day. Staff all friendly and welcoming. Wish pools had stayed open past 9pm but otherwise great spot.

The room had a few inconveniences - there was no countertop by the sink for toiletries and the Wi-Fi was very poor. Also, be ready for an early wake-up as the birds start chirping around 5 a.m. and it’s a full-on orchestra. Overall, it was a nice place.

We loved our two nights at Casa Luna and if we are ever back in La Fortuna we would definitely stay again. The property is beautifully maintained, the staff is friendly and the food at breakfast and at the pool side bar exceeded our expectations (we went out for dinner). Gorgeous property. The landscaping beautiful. The seven additional semiprivate Jacuzzis were well maintained and conveniently located for all rooms. The pool area was clean and inviting. The room itself was immaculate, private, quite, well decorated and spacious. However, the bed was usually HARD. I kind of couldn’t believe it.
Negatives: The staff consistently made us feel like we were putting them out. The restaurant staff more so than anyone definitely had a chip on their shoulder day and night. The $$$ prices at the restaurant were astronomical!!!! Also SHOCKING. And even though most staff are bilingual, it was extremely difficult to communicate with most all of the staff members.
Honestly, I was extremely impressed with everything until I stayed there for a couple days. Primarily due to the restaurant. I don’t think I’ll be going back. Nothing is worse than a bad attitude when you’re on vacation. :(

Our stay was great. The property is beautiful, the staff are so helpful, responsive, and kind. Everything was clean, and the location is excellent. We also booked massages with the hotel which I would highly recommend, the entire spa experience was amazing. The breakfast buffet was also great! Many options and everything was delicious. Would highly recommend to everyone!

The grounds are lush with tropical vegetation; pretty for strolling. Our room faced the gardens and had a spacious balcony with two chairs and a small table...nice view to wake up to every morning The room itself was very basic though and not well designed. Very little storage for clothes, no chair or table. Also no screens on the windows so we didn't feel comfortable keeping them open at night. Breakfast was good. Hotel is on the outskirts of town, no stores or other restaurants within walking distance. Uber is a quick 5-10 minute ride to town and cheap (around $5). We walked to Fortuna Waterfall from the hotel. About 40 minutes to get there since it's mostly uphill; going down was much faster. There is no sidewalk so must stay vigilant of traffic.

Casa Luna Hotel & Spa was a lovely place to stay. We especially enjoyed their spa service. It was rainy the entire time we were there so the spa was a great option. There were 3 people in our group & we booked 3 different spa experiences. We all loved the massages. The hot tubs were not hot at all. We wished that they were working better since the weather was so wet.

Overall, the stay was solidly good, but not great. There is misleading messaging regarding WiFi accommodations as these only reach into common areas, but this is not made known on Hotels.com nor their direct website, which created significant issues with my partner having to complete work during our trip. We additionally had issues during breakfast for dietary accommodations which made us feel like an inconvenience for the request. The room, grounds, nature trail, common areas, pool and tubs were all beautiful and everything was clean, well kept, and aesthetically pleasing. The hotel met our basic needs and allowed us to still have a nice trip together overall.

Clean room and excellent breakfast and restaurant staff was very helpful. Had a jacuzzi tub in room but no hot water even with jets on - no hot water ??? Specially the weather was cold. No door at Toilet .. little uncomfortable.. location was fine .

Everything was wonderful about the resort and the rooms. The staff was very accommodating and rooms were always very clean. Only exceptions are the beds are really hard and the couches are terrible, lumpy and broken in.

Impeccable. There is also a mini trail. They grow some of their food and are eco-friendly. Did not do the spa treatment because I did not have time. But the breakfast buffet was spectacular. Pumpkin stew was amazing. The best cerviche was at Casa Luna. Also down the road there is a coffee shop called Nomada Coffee experience. Best coffee I have ever had and I am from New York where coffee is a serious situation. I felt the Pura Vida vibe. Four days was not enough so I must return. Staff gets 100%.
