The room was very nice with great view even though the volcano was cloudy. The spa and pool areas were great, especially the jacuzzi area where our family were able to relax in a more secluded area. The staff was great from reception to the restaurant. Breakfast was really good and service was top!!

We loved our stay at Casa Luna! From the beginning they helped us track down our passports and saved our vacation. The room was a bit tight for 3 people but the property, spa and trail were amazing - birdwatching for days! The breakfast was also delicious and the restaurant had fantastic food for dinner too. We hope to come again!!

Our stay was great. The property is beautiful, the staff are so helpful, responsive, and kind. Everything was clean, and the location is excellent. We also booked massages with the hotel which I would highly recommend, the entire spa experience was amazing. The breakfast buffet was also great! Many options and everything was delicious. The grounds are lush with tropical vegetation; pretty for strolling. Our room faced the gardens and had a spacious balcony with two chairs and a small table...nice view to wake up to every morning The room itself was very basic though and not well designed. Very little storage for clothes, no chair or table. Also no screens on the windows so we didn't feel comfortable keeping them open at night. Breakfast was good. Hotel is on the outskirts of town, no stores or other restaurants within walking distance. Uber is a quick 5-10 minute ride to town and cheap (around $5). We walked to Fortuna Waterfall from the hotel. About 40 minutes to get there since it's mostly uphill; going down was much faster. There is no sidewalk so must stay vigilant of traffic.

Casa Luna Hotel & Spa was a lovely place to stay. We especially enjoyed their spa service. It was rainy the entire time we were there so the spa was a great option. There were 3 people in our group & we booked 3 different spa experiences. We all loved the massages. The hot tubs were not hot at all. We wished that they were working better since the weather was so wet.

Overall, the stay was solidly good, but not great. There is misleading messaging regarding WiFi accommodations as these only reach into common areas, but this is not made known on Hotels.com nor their direct website, which created significant issues with my partner having to complete work during our trip. We additionally had issues during breakfast for dietary accommodations which made us feel like an inconvenience for the request. The room, grounds, nature trail, common areas, pool and tubs were all beautiful and everything was clean, well kept, and aesthetically pleasing. The hotel met our basic needs and allowed us to still have a nice trip together overall.

Impeccable. There is also a mini trail. They grow some of their food and are eco-friendly. Did not do the spa treatment because I did not have time. But the breakfast buffet was spectacular. Pumpkin stew was amazing. The best cerviche was at Casa Luna. Also down the road there is a coffee shop called Nomada Coffee experience. Best coffee I have ever had and I am from New York where coffee is a serious situation. I felt the Pura Vida vibe. Four days was not enough so I must return. Staff gets 100%.

Location is amazing with proximity to La Fortuna. It was the perfect distance for the feeling of safety with limited transit needed to get to attractions.

The room was wonderful, no bugs, great AC, safe in room. The biggest disappointment was the shower head and water temperature. It sprayed everywhere and was not hot. Many more hooks around the spacious room would have been helpful for hanging damp or wet clothes. The soap products smelled amazing.

The pool was lovely. We didn’t find any of the many hot tubs to be hot on our first night, but we did find one hot one on our second day.

The buffet breakfast with eggs/omelets to order was amazing!! A truly wonderful dining
experience with so many options.

For dinner, we sat down and promptly left to go to town. There were no menu descriptions and the prices seemed extremely high. The town is not far and driving in the dark was not bad at all for such a short distance. L Options were far superior for us in leaving for dinner. Do not miss Tierra Mia or
Restaurant Fortuneño.

This was our first time to La Fortuna and this was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms although not large are very comfortable. The bathroom is very well equipped and you have a safe.

The only thing I would have wished for was a chair to be able to sit and write.

We spent each afternoon in the different pools and met so many people from different places and countries. The lunch we had was also one of our favorites. The soup and the fish were so amazing. We will definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at Casa Luna. We came to play hard and needed the pool and hot tubs after! The beds were so comfortable too and the rooms clean and large with plenty of space. Karen was exceptionally kind, providing breakfast to go when we had to catch an early SJO flight home. We will definitely be back, and recommend this hotel for any family with teens or adult kids!

Every aspect of the hotel was spot on, while I was only there for three days, I wish it could have been longer! The entire staff from the front desk, restaurant, maid service, and spa provided exceptional service and support. I'd rate the professional masseuse more than five stars and probably the top three of massages I've ever had, which have been many/globally!

I only ate at the restaurant for breakfast but the food quality and preparation was perfecto! This hotel is my new favorite in all of Costa Rica and look forward to my next stay there! I highly recommend them if you're in the area!

I’m very disappointed with my stay, and even though the hotel eventually tried to help, the experience did not match what was advertised on Expedia. The biggest issue was the misleading description: Expedia listed the Deluxe Room as having two queen beds, but they were actually small double beds. The room was clearly meant for two people, yet we were three and had to request extra towels, water, and glasses because the room was only set up for two. They also charged for bottled water, which most hotels offer for free.

We had no Wi-Fi or phone signal in the room at all, even with a local Costa Rica eSIM. The balcony didn’t have signal either, despite being told it would. When we asked about this, the receptionist insisted they never said they offered Wi-Fi, even though it’s listed on Expedia. Customer service was disappointing, when we asked to switch rooms, the staff were dismissive and unprofessional, and wouldn’t even look us in the eye. They moved us the next day, which was inconvenient since our stay was short.

The location is also very isolated unless you have a car. You’re basically stuck at the hotel, with the only nearby place being a great new restaurant called Luisita. Everything else is far. Tours, massages, and drinks were extremely overpriced compared to options in La Fortuna. The only good part was the breakfast.

Overall, I’m most disappointed with Expedia for providing inaccurate information and refusing any refund or compensation.

The only downside of this location is that the WiFi didn't work in our room, wasn't too big of a problem since we pretty much only slept there. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved the restaurant's delicious menu, the beautiful gardens and the trails. We appreciated the care that was taken to make the trails safe for us. All the employees were helpful and sweet. We highly recommend this hotel.
We could have used some drawers to put our clothes in. That's our only concern.

Our stay at Casa Luna was absolutely fantastic. The room and grounds were immaculate, the food at breakfast and in the evening was amazing, as were the cocktails by the pool. We’ve never stayed in such an amazing place before. We spotted a sloth and howler monkeys from the trail through the hotel grounds along with a number of amazing birds. Hummingbirds were flying through our garden all day long.
The staff were excellent and we must give a special mention to Marlon who was the perfect waiter and made us feel totally special.

This place was perfect for getaway with friends! We had 4 rooms, and they thoughtfully put us all in one little building so we were together. It’s a little slice of the jungle with sloths and monkeys and tons of birds. Just gorgeous with really nice landscaping. But also with a nice pool, so many hot tubs, a trail, a spa and everything you need for a great time in La Fortuna. The breakfast had something for everyone. The only downside (or upside?) was that the wifi didn’t work in the rooms.

We were disappointed in the thermal/hot tubs as only one was warm at all. Two were ice cold. Also, the WiFi was great outside of the room but nearly no connection in the room itself, which obviously is not the point of being in Costa Rica but after our busy days of activity and having a teen with me, we wanted to connect with friends and family, etc…. The included breakfast was awesome and the service was top notch. Prices for lunch-dinner seemed very high so we only ate one dinner there on the property a night after an all day excursion because we didn’t have the energy to go anywhere in La Fortuna. Overall a good stay and a stunning view of the volcano right from our balcony when the clouds broke.
