The hotel is in a good location. Within a 5-6-minute walk there are restaurants, cafes, a local store, a souvenir shop. The hotel itself is not new. The rooms are clean, but there is no mirror, iron, additional shelves where you can put shower products. WiFi in room works very poorly. Breakfast is not bad, modest, but it's real to eat in the glade. In general, it's not a bad hotel if you stay there for a couple of days.

The director at the front desk was extremely unprofessional and very unpleasant with clients.
I tried to communicate with them for weeks beforehand, but never received any response.

The room smelled extremely bad. There was visible mold in several areas, including the bathroom and near the A/C unit. The air conditioner itself was completely contaminated with mold—one of the dirtiest I have seen in a long time, and I work in HVAC.

Additionally, the balcony door needed to be replaced, as it was impossible to see through it due to its condition, meaning you had to open the door just to see the volcano.
The pictures shown of the property do not accurately represent reality: the place is much older and in not so good condition.

The pool area has a gorgeous view looking out at the mountain and cows in a field. The rooms were nice and clean. Good breakfast selection, wish they had more juices. You do need to make breakfast reserve in advance. Multiple private jacuzzis and pools. Would stay again.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly our whole stay. We enjoyed the many offerings from buffet breakfast including pancakes, made to order omelettes and fresh fruit. The room was a decent size with a large bathroom and felt very private. We especially liked the balcony and could sit out in the rain to watch the birds and look down at the beautiful gardens.

The room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Loved the patio! Bathroom shower was great, but lighting not so much for makeup. Breakfast was included and it was good but you had to remember to call the night before for reservations. Also they serve you at the buffet I assume to control food waste, so you just need to be patient.I did forget to make reservations one time but they accommodated us no problem. The pool was really nice, fantastic view of the Arenal volcano. The only con was that the hot tub water was very dirty.

I appreciate the staff holding our reservations as we experienced flight delays due to inclement weather. Security checked us in after hours very quickly and had keys ready to escort us to our rooms. Very clean, really good door seals to keep humidity out and efficient AC. THANK YOU!

We were warmly received by the hotel staff, the welcoming and service was truly great. The same cannot be said about the condition of the room, all faucets were not properly working (shower was leaking all night, the sink handles were super loose) and overall there was a humidity smell in the room. But we still enjoyed our stay because the breakfast and staff were awesome.

1.Room didnt have the view that was in the pictures. I was looking at just trees and you could barely see the volcano from the room even though in the picture it shows the pool and the volcano.

2.The shower in the room didnt get hot at all i said something to the concierge the next morning because they close the office at 10pm so if you have a problem afterwards good luck.

3. The tv in the room was fuzzy maybe it may have been the cable but theres no reason for as much as i paid for that room that should've been an issue plus the audio is trash on the tv so if you want to hear the 1930s version of the show your watching you'll have no problem here.

4. They gave some random couple a key to my room the second night and they came walking in while i was naked and just got out of the shower. Absolutely unacceptable! Imagine if i wasnt in the room and came back and someone had the opportunity to go in my room and take stuff from in the room. Mind you when this happened it was after the office was closed so i couldnt even address the issue immediately. On top of that in the same instance of them giving a whole different couple access to my room they deactivated my key so i couldnt even get back in my room after i went to find security for the issue with the ppl walking in my room that i paid for! so i had to go back and find them and tht took another 30 mins before i could get into my room absolutely insane.
I would never ever recommend anyone to stay there are you kidding me!

This was a very convenient property, close to town and lots of dining options. The views were wonderful, staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable. Nice restaurant and bar on the property. The soda next door is delicious! They helped us book some lovely excursions. Nice base to explore Arenal and La Fortuna. Breakfast was delicious!!!!

The view of the Volcano and Mountain from our room. We were also able to see everything from the poolside of the resort. Room 504 is absolutely gorgeous. The staff were kind, room was cleaned daily with robes placed in the closet. The cleaning staff decorated the bed daily with a new design. It was cute. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was delicious.

The hotel had an ok view of the volcano. The rooms are outdated no full size mirror. Only one key fob. Breakfast did not have variety each morning and I stayed for 6 nights. You have to reserve breakfast for each day which is a very big inconvenience. The ladies at breakfast are not very friendly. They also denied be breakfast one day because the lady did not put my room down etc.. (when I did). They need to do first come first serve… key fob stopped working for both rooms so had to get that fixed in front desk. The smaller pool doesn’t work. Only one hot tub works. Pool is not heated. Can’t pay drinks in the pool by room number.. 4th floor rooftop bar is not open yet. For a “4 star hotel” it lacks a lot. Needs a lot of work!

Very surprised by the overall ratings of this property. First, when I arrived I was told to park in another lot that would be closer to my room. This lot was in a very inconspicuous dark alleyway (immediately disregarded) due to the fact, it seemed implausible. Seemed very unsafe. Air conditioning did not work and there was a sizeable hole in the ceiling, that raised a reg flag. I brought these concerns to staff (after hours) and the issue was rectified (moving to another room). Overall, I wouldnt stay again, it was ok but definitely not the best or anything like it falsely represents online; the property doesn’t match the way it’s portrayed online.
Does have a good breakfast and coffee with the cutest cat, who would drop by looking for food.

I booked this hotel because of the good reviews and because it’s supposed to be a 3 or 4-star place. But honestly, I’m extremely disappointed and shocked by what I experienced.

First, they gave me a room with a jacuzzi, but the blinds were completely see-through from the outside! Anyone walking by could literally see inside. On top of that, they put me on the first floor, which made it even worse. I felt so uncomfortable and had to ask for a room change.

When they finally changed my room, I thought things would get better — but then when I turned on the air conditioner, a few cockroaches actually blew out from it! I was terrified and disgusted. How can this happen in a hotel that claims to be 3 or 4 stars?

Breakfast was another nightmare. There were so many flies on the sweet cakes. Even though there was a cover, there was a big gap beside the door, so flies could easily get in and out. I even saw a dead fly floating in the syrup. I told one of the workers about it, but he completely ignored me like it was no big deal.

Honestly, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. I will never come back here again, and I strongly advise others to stay away unless the hotel seriously improves its hygiene and management.

Unfortunately, our junior suite had a hot-tub that did not work very well and the sliding glass door seal was broken so you could not see through the glass. Property was not downtown but still walkable to restaurants. Nice pool area and they actually had HOT hot tubs! The other places we went didn’t. So we were happy to sit in a hot one in the evenings.
Clean and nice rooms. We were in building two with a perfectly clear view of the volcano!
Bar upstairs was nice. Buffet breakfast was great, especially the omelette station for my son! Great place to stay in La Fortuna!

The property is close to downtown La Fortuna. It's right off the main road, which I loved. There's a security guard at the gate at all times. This made us feel safe. The rooms were spacious and fully stocked with bathroom toiletries, minie fridge and coffee maker. No microwave however. The breakfast was buffet style with many fruit options and pastries. It also had an omelet station. We enjoyed it very much. The whirlpool hot tub was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We truly felt welcomed and enjoyed our stay very much. I highly recommend staying here when in town.

We had a room with a jacuzzi and it was very nice and spacious. The bathroom was also likewise. The grounds were very well kept and tropical. I wouldn’t mind staying there again.
The available parking was a bit skimpy but that’s my only negative comment about the hotel.

We really enjoyed the last visit. Before that we stayed one time in this hotel, when there was only one building. It is impressive how the hotel was grown but even more important, how its quality has increased.

First time visiting Costa Rica, had to find a place to stay bc the hotel we booked was 4 hours away from all of the activities that my wife booked and paid for… stayed for the night and had a fantastic experience, from friendly staff to very clean room and delicious food… thank you!! Everyone was nice and friendly. Good area for food options within walking distance. Room safe didn’t work when we checked in. Had to go downstairs to ask the front desk to send someone and they said 15 minutes. No one came after waiting an hour and 1/2. Had to walk down again because when I tried to call the front desk the operator didn’t speak English. Then someone came after the second request after about 15 minutes. Mid week safe wouldn’t work again but I didn’t want to deal with waiting on someone to fix. Breakfast was not good. Only channel that was in English on TV was Cartoon Network and everything time I tried to sign into Netflix it would not work

The employees were really nice and the hotel magnificent , we stayed there for 8 days I would appreciate it if they changed the sheets at least once. Also we had to leave a day early and they refused to reimburse me for the last day. Expedia tried to get in touch with them early but it took them a long time to hear back from the hotel.

The property staff were very nice and accommodating! We had a volcano view from our hotel and it was amazing. Also very close to tourist attractions. Parking is tight but the staff were helpful in guiding us when parking. The only not great thing was the food in the restaurant. We had to eat there one day, due to pouring rain and it was not good at all for vegetarians.

We had a great time! I've stayed at other hotels in the area that were more fancy or expensive, but this one actually beat them and there were no bugs entering our room! The views were nice and the garden was beautiful; many areas to rest and take pictures.

This property was perfect for our family of four (two young children). We loved the pools and hot tubs, and the many animal sightings (cows grazing in the field next door, an iguana high up on a tree). Our room was clean, as was the property. Breakfast is included which was delicious and changed daily. The property is within walking distance to several restaurants.
