The room was clean, the free breakfast was great, and the hot springs were a welcome addition at the end of a long day. The bar served good cocktails and the staff was very attentive to guests staying at the hotel. There were a lot of day use guests that seemed to clear out by about 8pm. The rooms were like boxes…not much natural light or views of anything except the hedges or staircases leading to the rooms above you.

Great location, close to Arenal sites and La Fortuna. Enjoyed the hot springs. The on-site restaurant was very good, but not great. Food was not all hot when served. Breakfast was very good. Staff was excellent and very attentive. It's so often wet there that we wish there was a door mat or towel provided inside the doorway to prevent getting water on the tile which can be slippery. We would definitely stay here again.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The service was impeccable. I loved the multiple thermal pool option and cold plunge. They even had an infinity pool towards the back of the resort. I loved that they provided an umbrella being that its a rainforest and who would think to pack an umbrella on vacation??? They gave us a complimentary wine bottle which was a nice touch, although my husband and I do not drink wine. We chose the room with the volcano view. It was the perfect spot to catch the volcano when its sunny or partly cloudy. I miss the hotel already. We had breakfast included in our stay. Breakfast options and taste were great.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Paradise Hot Springs hotel. Great location for all of the activities we did (hanging bridges, whitewater rafting and zip lining). A short (and cheap) uber to town if you want to go out to dinner ‘off campus.’ The staff was amazing, especially Andre, and very accommodating (I.e., arranged for boxes breakfasts for early morning adventure). Main restaurant is pretty good and also always have a buffet option (around $24). Hot spring pools were great after daily activities as was swim up bar which also offers decent food options. The hotel offers day passes for non-hotel guests but there is one pool and restaurant for guests only. Was foggy but decent view of volcano and had cows and horses in our ‘backyard.’ Property and rooms are very clean. Highly recommend!

The hotel allows day passes so the pools are filled with non hotel guests and by the end of the day the pools are gross as people eat while in the thermal pools! Kids with diapers, kleenix in the water…and the food is less than subpar.

Breakfast was great, especially the first day as they made delicious French toast. The waffles were good them second day but not great, needed some peanut butter available for toast, French toast, and waffles. The coffee in the cafe bar was top notch but unfortunately not available in the morning. The in room coffee was decent but the coffee at the breakfast was not great. It would be worth bringing your own coffee grounds to the room.

The thermal pools and spas were wonderful!! They drain each night and refill with fresh water everyday. The rooms were top notch. We had a room with a view of Arenal Volcano and a hot tub. We enjoyed the food. Breakfast is free and they put on a dinner buffet that is $30 per person that is well worth it. Definitely recommend!!

Was greeted upon arrival with a cold towel and a drink. The staff was efficient in checking us in, took us to the room and helped deliver the luggage. (This facility only has stairs). Our room had an amazing view of Aranal Volcano (when it is not under the clouds). The Hot Springs are cleaned daily, which is AWESOME! Our stay was fabulous!

This is a beautiful resort. The hot springs are very natural and relaxing, and very clean. There is an infinity pool looking out at the volcano. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We in got a lot hiking and activity in the area but also enjoyed the gym at the hotel which is well- equipped.

Our family truly loved our stay in Paradise. The quiet, the attentiveness of the staff, the 9 hot tins and pools were all fabulous. Our room faced the Aernal Volcano and just feet from our door was the pasture where Brahma steers grazed and slept. The location put is in easy proximity to the rainforest and mountains for some of the best adventures of our lives. Oh! Let me not forget the infinity pool of the upper brunch cafe facing arenal. Stunning and even beats the swim up bar on the property. Thank you Paradise Hot Springs.

It was a great option to have the hot springs nightly. The breakfast was excellent and lots of options including an omelette bar. The food we did pay for at dinner time we were not impressed with but there were excellent dining options in La Fortuna. We did lots of days doing self driving and returning here at night. We were able to do these things from this location: la Fortuna waterfall, Rio Celeste, Arenal 1968 hiking trail, mistico hanging bridges. Only thing they could do is to post to wash your bathing suits after going in the hot springs always as they smell horrible when dry.

The food was delicious, but very expensive. The breakfast buffet did not have a huge selection, but it was excellent. The grounds were small, but beautiful. I only wish it had a large cold water swimming pool to cool off.

Very quiet not many people there. No entertainment. Front desk very helpful with everything. Best friend got sick from breakfast for a day and sister got sick from dinner. Food wasnt as good. Hotel beautiful great springs. Drinks not strong at all...we got probably 2 string drinks being there 5days. We left resort to visit other springs about $30pp. We thought we woild got free day pass but wasnt specified.

This could be an amazing property. The view at the coffee shop and the infinity pool is perfect. The hot springs are nice. We had a 3rd floor volcano view room with a hot tub and the room was absolutely phenomenal EXCEPT the hundreds of ants that invaded the room every night and other bugs and lizards. I reported this and was told, \"well you are in the rainforest that is normal\". I had never been here so I accepted it, although it made it very difficult to sleep. I had to put on shoes (which I kept on the bed) to get up at night and walk to the bathroom. When I say hundreds, I literally mean HUNDREDS of large ants crawling all over the floors, walls, and ceiling. We talked to people at surrounding resorts and they did not have this same experience. The front desk lady said she would have someone spray outside our room but that was all she could do. It did not help at all. We realized that the ants were coming in around the air conditioner and the doors had no seals on the bottoms so there was a huge gap that the larger bugs and lizards were entering through. We went on to stay in a tent in the forest of Monteverde after we left La Fortuna and we did not even have the amount of critters enter our tent out in the forest as we did our room at Paradise Hot Springs. I would have rated this resort so much higher but this night time experience in our room was simply unacceptable and the staff just discounted our concerns completely. And no we did not have any food in our room!

This was a really cool hotel in a great location! We loved the view from our room (39) of the volcano and all of the pasture animals. It was so cool watching them fill the hot springs in the morning with fresh steaming water. Some of the pools needed some new tile and felt a bit dated but overall we really enjoyed ourselves here.

We stayed at Paradise for a night before heading elsewhere. Loved their Hot Springs - especially the swim up bar. Room was huge and as nice as anything in the area within this price range. Two minor pieces of negative feedback: our shower was lukewarm at best both times we used it. We also had our towel & room key taken from our pool chair and the front desk associate gave us some attitude when we asked for a new towel new room key. Outside of that - this is a great hotel for the price range.

It’s not clear on the property description the hours of access(11-10) to the springs or the fact that they let quite a few public visitors in every day - it gets crowded! It would be nice when paying almost $300 a night to at least get access to the springs without public present or to be able to go at night. There is one pool (which is neglected) for guests only, but it was cold and dirty. The campus is large so prepare to all everywhere. The bed was comfortable and for that I am grateful.

Great to stay at such a beautiful place with its own series of hot thermal pools. Rooms were well appointed. Wonderful to spend time in the car area with an awesome view of the volcano. Be aware that at times the pool areas could be busy with day use visitors but there is still plenty of spots to hang out. Very nice daily breakfast.

We loved this place! The grounds were stunningly beautiful with mature plants everywhere, rooms were lovely and comfortable, the bed was super comfy, and the bathroom was big with natural light. We got a wonderful couples massage and the food was really fresh and delicious. Staff all spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. We especially loved the coffee shop that overlooked the volcano.

We had an amazing stay at paradise thermal hot springs resort! The facilities were impeccable and the staff were super friendly and attentive. We got to experience beautiful views of the volcano every morning while sipping local coffee from our balcony. The included buffet styled breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of fruits, local foods, and pastries. The thermal pools were incredibly beautiful with tropical plants surrounding everything. There was even a private thermal infinity pool just for guests that overlooked a beautiful field leading up to the volcano. We definitely recommend staying here when you visit La Fortuna.
PS: if we book through a third party site, my husband and I always call the hotel ahead to confirm our reservation. So far, we have never had issues, but I say this because we did witness one couple who were very upset due to complications with their booking. Although I don’t know the specifics of their situation, I did notice that the staff were very professional and courteous towards them. Pura Vida!

If you have an early departure flight, do not book this resort. They lock the entrance and exit gates at night with a key and there is no attendant to assist. You can try calling, but no one will answer the phone. There’s no way to get out. I told them during the check-in process that we had an early flight and would be leaving early on our departure date. It’s scary to know that there is no staff available at all on the property at night and they lock everyone and their vehicles inside the property. If there’s a fire or you have a medical emergency (or volcano eruption), just know that you will be stuck without a way to exit the property in your vehicle. Eventually, after several attempts to call the front deska and knocking on the doors & windows, some sleepy looking kid came out and unlocked the gate, but we were already running 30 minutes behind schedule at that point. As we were pulling out of the gate, we noticed our rental had a flat tire, which it did not have when we parked it there the night before. Did the employee offer to assist us? Of course not. In fact, he immediately locked the gate back up and disappeared. My husband put the spare tire on and we were finally able to get on the road but we ended up missing our flight.
