For the price I would say it was a good value. It could use a bit of freshening up but for the price it was fine. Everything was clean and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast buffet was included in our stay, it was basic but a good value. Our room had a stunning view of the volcano but was partially shrouded in clouds when we were there.

Magic Mountain es un sitio que hace gala de su nombre. El hotel está limpio y las vistas al volcán desde nuestra habitación fueron espectaculares. Recomiendo segundo edificio más que el primero por vistas. El personal muy atento y el servicio del restaurante es increíble. Maravillosa experiencia.

Nuestra estadía fue maravillosa de principio a fin. La habitación era cómoda, limpia y bien mantenida, con una vista espectacular del Volcán Arenal. Todo el personal fue muy amable, atento y siempre dispuesto a ayudar con cualquier consulta o recomendación.

Las instalaciones estaban en excelentes condiciones, especialmente las áreas comunes y las piscinas. El desayuno fue variado, fresco y de muy buena calidad. La ubicación también es ideal para visitar las principales atracciones de la zona, como las aguas termales, las cataratas y los puentes colgantes.

Destaco especialmente la hospitalidad de la gente y el ambiente tranquilo y relajante que se respira en La Fortuna. Fue una experiencia inolvidable para toda la familia y sin duda volveríamos a hospedarnos aquí.

Me encantó y para mi es el mejor hotel en la fortuna, su vista al volcán y la naturaleza es única y su personal muy amable y altamente servicial, si regreso los escogería nuevamente 💚 tiene unos jacuzzi de aguas calientes y una piscina amplia, como también la habitación muy limpia y con todo lo necesario y el desayuno estuvo 10/10 me encantó son los mejores ❤️

También es facil asceso ir caminando y explorar las tiendas de souvenirs y restaurantes y supermercados cercanos, aunque en el hotel tienen una tienda de souvenirs y restaurante ósea está todo en este hermoso lugar.

Pésimo lugar, la piscina toda la orilla negra que no la limpian, la que atiene el bar de la piscina pésimo servicio parece que no quiere trabajar ni una toalla puede dar, el servicio VIP de expedía y hoteles.com no lo ofrecen, cobijas pedimos dos veces y no dieron, el desayuno no sabe a nada, en general una estancia pésima.

Hotel is really in a good area. We rent a car so driving out to the attractions weren’t too far from us at all. There are 6 pools/hot tubs to dip in and my son loves them all. My cleaning lady is so nice she made the elephant towel for us and she cleaned the room so well. The hotel is under renovation so some noise woke us up in the morning most of the time but overall we are happy with them. If we come back to La Fortuna in the future, we will definitely stay with them again.

Huge blood stain on the sheet, since the stain is in both sheet and mattress, it seems they did not change last person's sheet at all. During breakfast, flies were all over the place, including the tong and omelet station.

I have to say Costa Rica on a whole is a very clean country, the hotel was the same . Very clean and helpful and pleasant staff. We only got breakfast, but the food was good and always on time.

There’s no night life at the hotel or around the area and shop closes 10pm latest . A very quiet stay and more sounds of wildlife and nature .
Saw many types of pretty birds at the compound and great view of the volcano.

The hotel is in a great location and conveniently close to many popular areas. Unfortunately, due to the weather during our stay, we were unable to see the volcano, but the view would likely be excellent under better conditions.
The rooms were clean, and breakfast was good. Parking was available, which was convenient. The hotel also offers trips and excursions to popular nearby attractions, which adds to the overall experience.

Before I check in they didn’t tell me that hotel doesn’t have hot water, after check in they told me that system is broke and no hot water until 8 pm but I was there 4 days I had to take shower with cold water and never had hot water several times I complained but always they had a excuse

Nice hotel for La Fortuna area. Less rustic than the other options but you still had the jungle flavor. The swim up bar in the pool was nice as well as the secluded hot tub area. The TV reception in our room was fuzzy. Otherwise pretty good. Breakfast that was included was pretty decent as well, omelettes made to order etc

Person at check-in was curt and not a bit flexible. Included breakfast was ok. Staff helped with vegetarian options.

Used the thermal pool but no staff around the pool even though it was before closing time.

The hotel is very basic. The rooms are “tired”, in need renovation. The lighting both in the room itself and bathroom is very poor. Other than the pool area, the hotel does not have nice/ comfortable seating or hang out areas. The breakfast was also basic and the food quality can certainly be improved. The reception shuts down completely at 10 so if you have an issue after that time, you are out of luck.
The rules about room keys are prohibitive - you only get 2 keys (even if you are 4 people in the room), m and if you lose one you have to pay $20!!
The pool area has some thermal water pools but it is generally poorly lit at night after 6, so you cannot really use most of them.
We did not enjoy the experience and vibe at this hotel.

The hotel is in a good location. Within a 5-6-minute walk there are restaurants, cafes, a local store, a souvenir shop. The hotel itself is not new. The rooms are clean, but there is no mirror, iron, additional shelves where you can put shower products. WiFi in room works very poorly. Breakfast is not bad, modest, but it's real to eat in the glade. In general, it's not a bad hotel if you stay there for a couple of days.

The director at the front desk was extremely unprofessional and very unpleasant with clients.
I tried to communicate with them for weeks beforehand, but never received any response.

The room smelled extremely bad. There was visible mold in several areas, including the bathroom and near the A/C unit. The air conditioner itself was completely contaminated with mold—one of the dirtiest I have seen in a long time, and I work in HVAC.

Additionally, the balcony door needed to be replaced, as it was impossible to see through it due to its condition, meaning you had to open the door just to see the volcano.
The pictures shown of the property do not accurately represent reality: the place is much older and in not so good condition.

The pool area has a gorgeous view looking out at the mountain and cows in a field. The rooms were nice and clean. Good breakfast selection, wish they had more juices. You do need to make breakfast reserve in advance. Multiple private jacuzzis and pools. Would stay again.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly our whole stay. We enjoyed the many offerings from buffet breakfast including pancakes, made to order omelettes and fresh fruit. The room was a decent size with a large bathroom and felt very private. We especially liked the balcony and could sit out in the rain to watch the birds and look down at the beautiful gardens.

The room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Loved the patio! Bathroom shower was great, but lighting not so much for makeup. Breakfast was included and it was good but you had to remember to call the night before for reservations. Also they serve you at the buffet I assume to control food waste, so you just need to be patient.I did forget to make reservations one time but they accommodated us no problem. The pool was really nice, fantastic view of the Arenal volcano. The only con was that the hot tub water was very dirty.

I appreciate the staff holding our reservations as we experienced flight delays due to inclement weather. Security checked us in after hours very quickly and had keys ready to escort us to our rooms. Very clean, really good door seals to keep humidity out and efficient AC. THANK YOU!

We were warmly received by the hotel staff, the welcoming and service was truly great. The same cannot be said about the condition of the room, all faucets were not properly working (shower was leaking all night, the sink handles were super loose) and overall there was a humidity smell in the room. But we still enjoyed our stay because the breakfast and staff were awesome.

1.Room didnt have the view that was in the pictures. I was looking at just trees and you could barely see the volcano from the room even though in the picture it shows the pool and the volcano.

2.The shower in the room didnt get hot at all i said something to the concierge the next morning because they close the office at 10pm so if you have a problem afterwards good luck.

3. The tv in the room was fuzzy maybe it may have been the cable but theres no reason for as much as i paid for that room that should've been an issue plus the audio is trash on the tv so if you want to hear the 1930s version of the show your watching you'll have no problem here.

4. They gave some random couple a key to my room the second night and they came walking in while i was naked and just got out of the shower. Absolutely unacceptable! Imagine if i wasnt in the room and came back and someone had the opportunity to go in my room and take stuff from in the room. Mind you when this happened it was after the office was closed so i couldnt even address the issue immediately. On top of that in the same instance of them giving a whole different couple access to my room they deactivated my key so i couldnt even get back in my room after i went to find security for the issue with the ppl walking in my room that i paid for! so i had to go back and find them and tht took another 30 mins before i could get into my room absolutely insane.
I would never ever recommend anyone to stay there are you kidding me!

This was a very convenient property, close to town and lots of dining options. The views were wonderful, staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable. Nice restaurant and bar on the property. The soda next door is delicious! They helped us book some lovely excursions. Nice base to explore Arenal and La Fortuna. Breakfast was delicious!!!!

The view of the Volcano and Mountain from our room. We were also able to see everything from the poolside of the resort. Room 504 is absolutely gorgeous. The staff were kind, room was cleaned daily with robes placed in the closet. The cleaning staff decorated the bed daily with a new design. It was cute. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was delicious.

The hotel had an ok view of the volcano. The rooms are outdated no full size mirror. Only one key fob. Breakfast did not have variety each morning and I stayed for 6 nights. You have to reserve breakfast for each day which is a very big inconvenience. The ladies at breakfast are not very friendly. They also denied be breakfast one day because the lady did not put my room down etc.. (when I did). They need to do first come first serve… key fob stopped working for both rooms so had to get that fixed in front desk. The smaller pool doesn’t work. Only one hot tub works. Pool is not heated. Can’t pay drinks in the pool by room number.. 4th floor rooftop bar is not open yet. For a “4 star hotel” it lacks a lot. Needs a lot of work!
