Everyone was nice except the receptionist on our first night. He was rude and impatient. When I didn’t get what he said, he told me, ‘I told you that already. Do you want me to repeat? Am too fast for you?’ And smiled sarcastically. He just had a strong accent that’s why I asked again but he wasn’t too happy about it.

Everything about the stay was wonderful! Delicious breakfast, the most friendly staff, Marlo especially was wonderful to talk to at the bar! Definitely would go back again! The only thing we wished was in our bungalow room there was no mini fridge to hold our leftover foods from dinners or our water-bottles cold! But everything else was amazing! 10/10!!!

Good restaurant. Comfy beds with great AC in rooms. Beautiful scenery and gardens.
Be aware accommodations are duplexes up a hill with walking to your rooms only. Cars are left down at reception. Golf cart was not working when we arrived. Not recommended for people with limited mobility.

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, wonderful free breakfast buffet each morning. The hotel is close to many area attractions and hot springs resorts. The heated thermal pool and swim up bar was very enjoyable. Melena at the pool bar made great drinks and always had a friendly smile.his was my first visit to Costa Rica but most definitely not be my last!

Our stay at Hotel Mountain Paradise was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of. The property is surrounded by lush tropical gardens with breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano — waking up to that view every morning felt like a dream.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a private terrace that allowed us to truly relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The beds were super cozy, and everything was spotless and well maintained.

We didn't get the villa we had reserved/ paid for. The gardens have real potential, the pool is nice, parking secure and the staff great! Breakfast was a typical but a bit disappointing buffet. Dinners however were a pure waste of money - you're better off getting a sandwich or snacks at the pool. The place looks like it had had its day and slowly over the years deteriorating. The gardens under maintained and especially away from the reception and restaurant just kind of junky and weedy looking. Building aren't kept up very well - real potential, over priced for condition, and again the restaurant is a waste - eat out.

This was a great hotel for us. Traveled with my family of 3 and stayed in the villa. The room was very clean and comfortable. Good AC. Had a nice view of the volcano even though it was overcast and rained everyday. Staff was very polite, helpful, and replied to requests almost immediately. Pool was beautiful. Restaurant and breakfast were very good. Safe and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing location - out in jungle living amongst the animals. We saw tons of birds, and other wildlife and had an amazing view to the Arenal volcano.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable, but what truly stood out was the staff going above and beyond to make my son’s birthday special. Per my request, they arranged a cake for him, which meant so much to us.

The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive, and communication was excellent throughout our stay. The food at the restaurant was very good, but the absolute highlight,the best of the best was the breathtaking view of the volcano. Truly unforgettable.

What a perfect natural oasis with spacious beautifully situated bungalow style accommodation and an open air restaraunt looking out on the stunning Arenal Volcano. Sloths , toucans and other wildlife right on our doorstep. Set well back from the main road. Quiet and peaceful. We loved it.

A beautiful setting with flowering plants, birds and butterflies. Clean with very friendly staff. The one draw back was our room was very close to the restaurant so that we had no wifi (my guess it was supposed to connect with the router at the restaurant but it didn't ). I could stand outside other cabanas and log in... First world problem. Otherwise quiet and nice. La Fortuna is a crazy busy town so you really can't walk from this hotel anywhere as the roads are narrow and cars are a bit fast.

We had a wonderful stay here with our 5 teenage/young adult children. I was skeptical that the views and the rooms were as great as the pictures, but they were even better. We had two villas near each other for 7 people and had plenty of space. The location is private, yet a short Uber drive to La Fortuna. The food at the restaurant was great, though not a huge variety. There is AC in the rooms, which wasn't obvious from the listing, but much appreciated. The staff was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and helpful.

If I had any criticism, it is that there are no loungers at the pool, only chairs. And yeah, it rained pretty hard on a couple of days.

Overall, it was the perfect choice of hotel for us and I highly recommend it.

We had a very nice stay. I would go back. If you have mobility issues the cottages are uphill a bit but you can take a ride in a golf cart. WiFi in the back cottages was spotty but I think that is common. The view was amazing and our kiddos enjoyed the unique shower.

We had a wonderful stay at Hofel Mountain Paradise and truly enjoyed the beautiful natural setting of the property. The resort feels like it’s tucked right into the rainforest, and we were delighted to see colorful birds—especially toucans—along with agoutis freely roaming around. It made every walk around the grounds feel special and immersive.

The pool and bar area was a highlight for our family—great place to relax after a day of exploring Arenal. Breakfast at the restaurant was decent and a good way to start the day, while the dinner menu was quite good, with tasty options and a nice atmosphere.

One area that could really use improvement is the lighting. The lobby, restaurant, walkways, and rooms were all very dark. In addition, the white LED lights currently used in the lobby, rooms, and dining areas give off a cold, uninviting vibe. Warmer lighting would make a big difference and create a much more welcoming and cozy ambiance throughout the property.

A special shoutout to Madelyn at the front desk—she was absolutely amazing. She helped arrange transportation, offered great local recommendations, and booked tours for our family with ease. Even before our trip, she was incredibly prompt and helpful over WhatsApp, always responding quickly and making us feel reassured and comfortable with our itinerary. Her hospitality truly stood out and made our stay stress-free and memorable.

The reason we gave 5 stars is because of the very friendly helpful staff! We are very picky about beds and pillows and we slept really well! Even though this place needs updating it provides everything you need! Breakfast was awesome too! We saw toucans the minute we got there and heard howler monkeys. We loved the rustic atmosphere and authentic scenery! Our view was of the volcano too! How can you complain! Bar was fun at the swim up pool! We recommend this place for families! Close to everything too!

Loved our stay at Hotel Mountain Paradise! The place is beautiful, with amazing views of Arenal Volcano right from the doorstep, and beautiful rainforest all around. And all the animals around! Our bungalow was spacious, clean, and felt very private. The staff was friendly and always happy to help - they even helped us out with the travel crib for our little one. The hot pools was a great bonus and perfect for relaxing after a day out, or even during the rain. Would definitely stay here again—highly recommend if you’re visiting La Fortuna!

Booked my trip to Costa Rica to celebrate my birthday with my sister. Madelyn made all the arrangements; from arranging our airport pick up and drop off to booking all our 3 excursions pre arrival. She also upgraded us to the villa garabito from the premium casita with a stunning view of the Arenal volcano. I have never had such a smooth trip with everything taken care of pre arrival.
Our rooms were cleaned daily by Josie. Fresh towels provided and was spotless. A cute towel animal was placed daily on my bed which was nice to come back to. The shampoo conditioner and shower get was paraben free and smelled great. Espresso machine was amazing with delicious coffee stocked daily.
The pool was clean with a nice temperature and Louis at the wet bar was amazing to chat with. His service was impeccable.
Food was delicious and grounds well maintained.
The security guard Reynaldo helped us get in our room upon arrival as our room key card wasn't working. He was really nice.
Overall, villa room, staff, amenities, property views and grounds were fantastic. We stayed there 6 nights and didnt't feel like leaving. Highly recommend you stay here for a natural vibe with stunning view

Our jacuzzi working but they said they can send someone to fix it. We didnt't bother with it as we had the private pool and the main pool area.
The only reommendation will be to have lounge chairs in the villa patio and pool area so we can laze comfortably. We made do with resting our feet on the other chairs.

The bathroom large, the tub filled quickly. Water pressure was good. Hot water was hot and available. Shower gel and soap provided smelled amazing. Don’t love that you can’t park next to the casita, but also that did make for nice walking grounds in the morning. Lots of beautiful trees and flowers. WiFi was not great. Kitchen was nice to have, but nothing to make food hot so??? More like a wet bar. GREAT view of the volcano, close to the local free hot springs entrance, didn’t visit the pool but looked nice and was steaming at night. Breakfast was perfect, beautiful place to start the day. Super quiet at night, the bed was incredible, comfortable and king size which is hard to find. Gets pretty slippery on the patio in the rain. We brought our pup and she approved also. Nice place overall, romantic.

The property is beautiful and you feel like you’re in a lush rainforest. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We ate breakfast at the restaurant each morning and it was very nice - local dishes, fresh fruit and an omelette station.

The hotel is located near hot springs, shopping and restaurants, but also sets out far enough that it is quiet and peaceful.

We had 2 adults and 2 teenage boys in our group. We all agree that this was a great stay and we will definitely return.

This was truly a unique experience. I was sad our schedule only allowed us to stay one night, as I would loved to stay several days. Our room had a private pool, huge shower, and was surrounded by lush greenery. The breakfast buffet was good and the town was gorgeous. The staff was very helpful. We did the night hike and saw several tropical frogs, a snake and a sloth. I highly recommend a stay there!!

Fantastic experience! We searched long to find a good accommodation for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids @ age 11,8,5), but found it at Hotel Mountain Paradise. Upon arriving (June/rainy season) we received a surprise upgrade to the Presidential accommodation and so enjoyed the room. Spacious bungalow with 3 beds (2 kings, one queen), 2 bathrooms, small table space. All fantastic and felt nice that we didn’t have any direct neighbors or shared walls (ya know, with kids and all haha)… a lot like a mini air b&b… but with housekeeping.

Grounds were beautifully maintained, breakfast offerings were consistent but delicious (felt like it was local fare), and pool area was fun for the kids and adults (swim up bar).

We spent the majority of the days on adventure, but always felt comfortable returning to the room after a long day in the rainforest.

All said, great location, quiet and quaint… really felt we got a great value for our experience in CR…

The cottages were well spaced apart with plants/shubbery providing added privacy. The showers provided full size hygiene products that were better quality than what we had brought which came in handy since you end up showering more than expected with all of the expeditions available. The only thing that would be an added bonus is if this property had a laundry facility for guests.

The hotel room was dirty, moldy and anti hygienic. We only spent 7hrs in the hotel because of the hour that we got there 2:45am. The photos of the hotel are from a long time ago because the rooms definitely do not look like the pictures. Horrible would not recommend.
