I will start by saying the staff where friendly, helpful and went out of their way make the stay a good experience. The rooms are large and clean but they are getting a bit dated and could use a refresh. The same \"need a refresh\" is basically true to the common areas too. The hot springs were very nice and we enjoyed them a lot. Plus it was great that we could also visit the Titoku hot springs not far away. The breakfast buffet had a larger variety of food and the quality was good. The restaurants were pretty good as well, but we did feel that the prices of the drinks were unreasonably high compared to \"off property\" locations we went.

The site is spectacular with all the rooms overlooking the volcano and I liked that the hotel is not terribly large. The thermal pools were amazing, with 5 cascading pools, from hot to cooler as they descend. The food was excellent with several options. The complimentary breakfast buffet was amazing and featured both local and international fare, and so much fruit! The staff were all so helpful and attentive.

Even though I booked this hotel for the amazing views of the volcano and we had rain and clouds the entire time so we never saw the volcano, we still enjoyed our stay immensely! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the breakfast buffet had a good variety of hot foods and made-to-order eggs/omelettes, and Heliconia was quite good for dinner. The grounds were beautiful even without a view of the volcano and we really enjoyed the offsite hot springs that were included with complimentary shuttle... not as big as some of the others but beautiful and not crowded. Staff were all wonderful especially Melvin in the restaurant. Will definitely stay here if we come back to the area again!

This is a beautiful property with impeccable service and amazing views of the volcano. Our family suite was very large with an instagram worthy view of the volcano from our balcony. The grounds are beautiful- the trees, flowers, water features, just gorgeous. A good sized pool and several hot springs are part of the property. The breakfast buffet was great- lots of choice with polished service. This is definitely one of the more beautiful upscale properties in La Fortuna. We had several tours that included various hotel pick ups and no hotel compared to the beauty of this property, even other five star hotels. I would definitely stay here again.

Arenal Kioro Suites exceeded our expectations on every level. The view of the volcano and rainforest from our room was exceptional. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. Fresh exotic flowers in the room. Our room attendants fashioned the pool towels into frogs and turtles to match our kids stuffed animals which was cute. The hot springs were spotless and we had them completely to ourselves unlike other crowded hot springs that we have visited. The resort also gave us access to the Titokú hotsprings a short drive away. They were also nice but we much preferred those at the resort. The food at both the main restaurant and pool restaurant was consistently excellent. All staff were very friendly. A chef from the main restaurant saw my son searching for frogs one evening on his way into the restaurant and pointed out a red-eyed tree frog for him! The grounds are beautifully landscaped with some short forested trails that were great for birding. Lots of toucans and other exotic birds all over the place. It was an incredible stay.

This is officially my go-to location when i visit La Fortuna. As a first timer to Costa Rica, I had high hopes but wasnt quite sure what to expect. Arenal Kioro managed to exceed my expectations tenfold in every way possible. From the moment we arrived we were greeted and offered a beverage of our choice and thoroughly explained the facilities and amenities the resort had to offer. We were taken to our suite and the experience only got better. The view of the Arenal volcano was breathtaking and is something that amazed us every time we saw it. Everything was perfect from check in to check out - the room service, housekeeping, food and hospitality were all 10 stars. The staff made us feel like family and will forever have a place in our hearts. My only issue is I didn't plan a longer vacation. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend.

Our stay at the Arenal Hot Springs in La Fortuna was absolutely amazing. Every morning we woke up to breathtaking views of the volcano right outside our window—it felt surreal. The private hot tub in the room was exactly what we needed for relaxation, and having access to the hot springs on-site was so convenient after long days of exploring.
The restaurant was wonderful—the food was fresh, flavorful, and served in a beautiful setting. We also loved how close the property was to all the adventure activities. Zip-lining, excursions, and nature tours were just minutes away, and the town of La Fortuna with its great restaurants and shopping was only a 15-minute drive.

We were there for our 25th anniversary for 5 nights. Our room was set up for this romantic occasion with a welcome champagne and delicious charcuterie treat. We got to see the majestic Arenal volcano close-up from our room whenever the sky cleared up. The resort staffs went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, starting with booking several excursions tours, spa services, romantic dinner and awesome complimentary fruits basket. I can’t thank enough for the amazing treatments we received.

The property is beautiful with amazing views of Arenal from all rooms and the pool deck, main restaurant, etc. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. And the staff is wonderful. They all made sure to learn our names and greet us at every occasion. The only things I'd call out for improvement is that there is not much variety for dinner options, particularly at the grill where there's a set sharing menu, the pathways could be better lit and not being able to flush toilet paper was an unpleasant surprise, but one that I suspect is less optional than it is due to the plumbing conditions.

You cannot beat the views from the property. Staff was super friendly and food was really good. They have a good breakfast with variety of options. It is about 10 minutes from town so you would need a car or to get a taxi every time you go. Ubers are cheaper. Room was great and spacious, my kids loved the jacuzzi in the room. The only downside is that the tv is out of date and small.

It’s 15 minutes to La Fortuna by car. the 2 big nearby resorts looked very crowded and busy so I appreciated the quietness of this resort.

Beautiful resort however had very loud people up all night very loud moving furniture so we asked to be moved however they said they do t have any other openings and so 2 of our days were spent with very loud disrespectful neighbors lesson learned request top floor room because not worth $350 a night to hear people stomping and moving furniture all night long

Absolutely wonderful experience. Google says it’s a five star hotel, which we do not agree with however for the price you are paying and what you are receiving it was such a great value. You are close to everything, all the other fancy double the price hotels, and Hot Springs Fraction of the cost. The mattresses are comfortable. Rooms are clean. The facilities are old and a bit dated, as is the gym, but otherwise everything was super. One thing to know, there was a wedding one night during our stay and the music went on until 11 PM. We had a 5 AM wake up time the next morning, so that was a bit frustrating, but the management was deeply apologetic and comped some of our room charges. I guess somebody was supposed to alert us upon check-in of the upcoming private event. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is a full breakfast, with an omelette station, and delicious fresh fruit. We had dinner there one night and the food is decent for dinner. Granted we did not come to Costa Rica for a culinary experience. Very conveniently located, it did not take us more than 12 minutes to get to any of our activities or meals. Despite the dated amenities and structure, I would in fact stay here again.

Pros: each room is oriented towards a breathtaking view of the Volcan Arenal so that, if you're so inclined, you can sit on your balcony from early morning until sunset enjoying the various moods of the mountain. The rooms are spacious and well apportioned with high vaulted ceilings, very comfortable beds, and many extra amenities (and spotlessly clean). Morning breakfast is nothing short of phenomenal with offerings for every taste served in the main dining room with 20 ft windows opening up to views of the volcano. The numerous pools and hot springs on the property were immaculately clean, not crowded and had plenty of relaxation areas. That said, the best part of the stay hands down was the staff. Professional, kind, extremely attentive and above all friendly, their efforts catapulted this stay into something so memorable!
Cons: while a minor point, the restaurant needs some re-tooling in their menus for lunch and dinner as the fare is fairly pedestrian and to our palate, bland for Costa Rica. A better bet is the nightly BBQ offered by the pool- tons of good food and a wonderful atmosphere.

If I had to pick one negative thing is their septic system. You cannot flush toilet papers in the toilet bowl and I find it disgusting esp if you have to do #2.

Great Eco Friendly Hotel with Amazing Views
We loved the location for day trips. Complimemsry access to Titoku hot springs was a nice bonus. We had Breakfast included and it had lots of variety. Service was good. Grounds beautiful, lots of birds. There are a few sloths that are on property. Unfortunately we didn't see them. We attended the coffee and chocolate onsite tour and enjoyed.
