Expedia has asked me to review this hotel. I made a reservation at this hotel, but the hotel did not have a room. The hotel notified Expedia, but Expedia advertised the room anyway and charged me for it. This is the same day a car I had reserved with Expedia with Hertz was absent when I arrived to rent it. Expedia has not remedied either situation. The callous indifference of Expedia evident in their absent customer service is disappointing but no longer surprising to me. As I could not trust a booking service such as Expedia to find me a room at a very busy time of year, the staff at this hotel made phone calls on behalf of me and my fiancee and found us a nearby room so we were not both homeless and without even a car to sleep in. Expedia gets zero stars. This hotel gets five stars.

Hotel Arte Natura is the kind of ‘hotel’ I love. It’s unique, quaint, quiet, and very walkable to local shops and restaurants. It’s about a mile west of the main downtown area with many restaurants only steps away, including one on site.

The double room I booked was the perfect size for one person, but would have been a bit small for two platonic guests. It’s not because the room was small (which it is), but because of the size of the bed. You’d want to be sharing it with someone you plan to cuddle with 😉.

The outdoor shared kitchen and living room were comfortable and clean, and a great way to keep my Imperial beer cold. The pool is small but inviting.

Kristhal works in both reception and the restaurant and was extremely helpful in assisting me with booking tours, making suggestions on things to see and do, and helping me figure out logistics. Kendall, Luca and the rest of the staff kept things moving smoothly in the restaurant, including making sure I got my multiple refills of cafe con leche ☕️. The cleaning crew was friendly and kept the common areas tidy.

I’m very happy I found this hotel. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others.

The staff, in particular leyling and Kendal, we so friendly and attentive and helpful. Our room was plenty big for the two of us. Happy hour at the restaurant was a draw. And we dined there on two occasions - the food was very good.
There is a kitchen area for the guests. The pool was small but very refreshing.

Their staff especially Crystal, Leilin, and Kendall were very friendly, accommodating, as well as the owners, who would go over and beyond to make your stay a comfortable and a happy one. Their breakfast is served individually on your table with different selections to choose from and lots of delicious fresh fruits since they also own the Vagabondo pizzeria and pasta next to the quaint and charming one story bungalow rooms. Everything we needed was there. They also let you use their washer and dryer for free, you just need to buy your own detergent.The pool is small but always clean and so nice to sit around or just relax by the nearby lounge chairs and tables to chat or just read a book. They also have a common kitchen (if you want to cook your own food)with everything you need. I was told it’s under new management since 4 years now. It’s quaint, cute, clean, and staff are very personable and attentive to your needs.
I will highly recommend this Hotel Aure Natura if you are in La Fortuna!!!
It’s close to Arenal rafting, La Fortuna Waterfalls, Choyin Rio Termal Hotsprihgs, Arenal Mundo Aventura Ziplining, and Mistico National Park

They have a communal laundry and kitchen for those who are on longer trips like us.

Cute spot! Really nice, community feeling. Room was clean and tidy and had everything I needed. Pillow was comfortable! I particularly enjoyed the lounge area which made reading and relaxing while watching the rain perfect. Staff was really friendly and the pizza/pasta next door phenomenal. This property is amazing. The garden is like a small tropical jungle. There are an open library area, kitchen, small swimming pool, and rest area. The room is clean. The only complaint is that you have to ask for a hair blower from the staff. Otherwise, highly recommended!

This is a great location. The breakfast was delicious. It rained the whole time so we didn’t get a chance to visit the pool but it looked nice. I didn’t like the showers. No water pressure and wasn’t very warm. Overall, great value for the location!

Overall: We had a good stay here.

Cons: We got a room right next to the main road, so the noise was a constant factor.
The wifi did not work in the room and you had to go to the pool area for access.

Pros: The breakfast was very nice.
The staff was very courteous and accommodating.
You can have pizza for dinner in the same place where breakfast is served and get a discount.
Close to most attractions and lots of other dining options.

The rooms are super cute here and the restaurant attached is nice, great food. It's right outside of the busy part of Fortuna and really easy to get around walking, taxis, shuttles or rental car. If you do have your own car there's gated parking which is a great feature. Everyone was really nice and helpful.

Wonderful stay here. Great location. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Loved that there was a common kitchen and laundry room and outdoor seating. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Super friendly and welcoming. Would stay here again next time without a doubt.

The noise problem really brings the place down. You can hear everything in neighboring rooms and every vehicle that goes down the street. The price is reasonable, the rooms themselves were fine, the staff were very helpful, and the free breakfast was good. It also has some nice common spaces.

We stayed at this property for four days. The checkin process was smooth and the staff at this hotel was excellent. As soon as we checked in the hotel, the bathroom flush was broken and the water was everywhere in the bathroom. They had someone come in and fix the issue. Again the same thing happened the next day and we had to call the service person to come in and \"fix\" again. The day before we checked out the hotel, staff asked us to shift our room to a different room since they were over booked and it was easy to shift us from our current room. We did oblige the request as the staff was nice and didn't have much choice and it was holiday season. Overall, the stay was okay and the staff was pleasant and the location was convenient. The management should look into fixing the property and better managing hotel bookings during the peak season.

Rooms are pretty basic but functional if you don’t spend too much time there. Like a higher end hostel with shared kitchen facilities, common lounge and pool. Well kept. The best part is the adjoining Vagabondo Pizzeria next door- food is great! A cute, affordable boutique hotel.

Cute little place in La Fortuna. The service was great, and the room so clean. They have a beautiful view of the volcano from the pool. They offer cooked to order breakfast which was delicious we stayed three nights. My only complaint was the AC was a little loud. But I think they were upgrading their systems because our went out twice and once we had to call maintenance to get it back on.
I would stay here again.

Pool much smaller than it looks on websites. Hot water for shower very hard to learn to use. I had a couple cold showers before I figured it out. Not much for English speaking help. Clean room. Our room was bordered by an alleyway that is a service entrance to a hotel. The trucks were very noisy in the morning. Great location with good meals within walking distance. We were offered 20% off with cash purchase at at pizza restaurant next door. Parking area is small and some late arrivals had 4 bars blocked in the morning. Glad I wasn’t scheduled for a tour that morning! Stayed 5 nights.

Flooding in the 1. room, construction noise, beginning at 5 am, in the 2. room. Internet was mostly bad and the pool did not look very inviting when we arrived. Restaurant was the worst we had in our 3 days in

Our room smelled badly of mold -- it was so bad we both got bad headaches. They told us they were full and couldn't give us another room but when we told them we knew another person staying at hotel had switched they finally agreed. Our next room was better but air conditioner was broken. I would never recommend this hotel.

Nothing to do with the pictures shown. Room was old and not very clean.
Staff was not very friendly.
Very noisy as it is very close to the main road, you can hear cars all night.
The booklet and the TV remote control were so dirty that you did not want to touch them.

The hotel has a good location to explore around. The staff is very helpful and is responding to emails in fast way. The rooms are equipped with AC which is good. They are however a bit old. But overall its a good place to stay with a very good restaurant next to it.

This hotel was modest and perfect for a couple nights. Very well located in LaFortuna and close to Arenal. Walking distance to town. Several good restaurants very close. This is a small hotel but well run. Cable TV with several US stations. Hot water was good. Clean room. I would stay there again.

The room was very noisy. Although the surrounding room guests were not loud I could hear every word they spoke. The pool was 15 feet from my door and the noise generated was by its user was terrible. I was charged extra for an air conditioned room. My toilet was plugged and the best they could do was hand me a plunger which did not solve the problem so I spent 3 days with a stopped up slow draining toilet. Breakfast was include but not very good and their coffee was cold.

This is a great budget hotel and good value for money. It is also very close to the La Fortuna Waterfall, you can walk to the waterfall if you want to. The staff was very friendly and helped us check in even though we arrived after past the check in deadline. The hotel offers a nice breakfast and also set us up with some great tours.

Ein wirklich sehr schönes Hotel. Die Zimmer sind groß und sauber. Es gibt eine „draußen“ Küche zur gemeinschaftlichen Nutzung und diverse Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten draußen. Sehr gemütlich.
Der Pool ist auch sehr sauber und schön. Wenn man Glück hat sieht man den El Arenal.
Das Frühstück ist hervorragend, man kann aus 4 Optionen auswählen und auch das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit, nett und engagiert.

O hotel é bem bonitinho e decorado, com jardim bem cuidado. Além disto, a facilidade de ter uma cozinha e uma lavanderia à disposição faz toda a diferença. O Kendal, funcionário da recepção e do café da manhã é muito simpático. Fez de tudo para nos agradar e acolher. O restaurante Italiano do hotel, Vagabondo, serve Pizzas e Massas deliciosas e muito bem feitas.

Tres bon sejour, lhotel est dans la rue principale de la fortuna a 15-20 minutes de tout. Le restaurant est bon, personnel tres reactif. Place de parking interieures et exterieures.
La piscine est sympa et bien aménagée. Nous avons apprecié la possibilité de faire ses repas dans la cuisine exterieure.

Positiv: Gemeinschaftsküche kann genutzt werden, Garten und Pool mit Blick auf den Vulkan (für uns aufgrund des Wetters leider nicht sichtbar), gutes Frühstück im Restaurant nebenan
Negativ: Das Zimmer war sehr klamm, die Aircondition blies nur in Richtung Bett. Generell renovierungsbedürftig, Verkehrslärm von der anliegenden Durchfahrtsstrasse

Nous étions agréablement surpris de l’endroit. Nous étions très bien, nous avons très bien dormi et tout était près. Il y a un frigo communautaire qui nous a beaucoup servi. Prévoir un souper au restaurant de la place car c’est vraiment succulent. Les déjeuner inclus sont aussi très bons.
