We had a wonderful time when we stayed here. We booked the two room family suite which was spacious and comfortable, perfect for our family of four, and made us all feel right at home.

We loved the gardens, beach and pool, perfect for relaxing in the sun. The service throughout the hotel was fantastic and made our stay truly stress-free.

The only letdown was the restaurant reservation system. Twice, our reservations couldn't be found when we arrived, which led to some frustrating moments and waiting around—especially tough when traveling with hungry teenagers! Thankfully, the restaurant staff did their best to sort things out and still made us feel welcome.

Aside from that minor issue, our family had a fantastic time at Al-Bustan and would happily stay there again.

I recently stayed at Al Bustan palace , and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. The check-in process was smooth, and the room was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We were upgraded to a fabulous 2 bed suite. The staff are amazing, so helpful. The restaurants produce high quality food. We’ve stayed in this hotel before and it is consistently a high quality experience. The downsides are low water pressure which meant showering takes a long time and the condition of the beach, lots of plastic debris and there was an algae bloom during our trip, completely out of anyone’s control of course, but the beach should be cleaned daily. The hotel should focus more on reducing the use of single use plastic water bottles, they use 1000’s a day and there are better, more cost effective options. . Oman is expensive to visit so travellers should be aware of the costs involved when planning their trip. We used to live here so were prepared.

We enjoyed our time here but had a few issues. The good: First off, the hotel and grounds are stunning. Truly it’s out of a movie! The lobby is really breathtaking. The rooms were very clean and housekeeping was great. They provided a lot of bottled water which is so appreciated.
The breakfast buffet was just fine-typical buffet in this area and the place you eat is beautiful. The pool bar had good food.
Our issues were with the high cost of food and an event that led to having to make a noise complaint. It’s an RC hotel, so the price was perhaps to be expected but everything is SO high. And the night we stayed, a wedding began at 3 and blasted music right by our room until 10. Management did offer some compensation, which we appreciate, but only after complaining. Not sure what the other guests who also were paying hundreds a night did. The staff was pleasant but not friendly. Overall, I would recommend but maybe just one night to experience it.

The hotel itself is incredible, the lobby is amazing and the amenities are brilliant. We were lucky enough to get upgraded at check in so our room was perfect as we had instant access to the pool. The staff was brilliant as well and it’s a brilliant place to stay if you plan on relaxing at the beach and just swimming.

However, there’s nothing around the area in the hotel. You can’t walk anywhere as the hotel is in a secluded place and trying to get a taxi is difficult especially during the evening. If you’re not a fan of the food in the restaurants at the hotel, you’re only option is to order food in.

Reception staff were helpful. Signage was poor. Service at breakfast was poor. When I asked for service I was told to go to the chef as it would be easier which I thought was rude. Room wasn’t cleaned until the afternoon.
Appreciated request for early check in.
The steps in the lobby are a hazard. May consider a hand rail to alert guests that there are steps they need to navigate.

welcome and check in was horrible, one picks the rirz because of the magic it brings along, this stay started off horribly. i wanted to turn around and leave instantly. however, the staff listened to how unhappy i felt and made the rest of our stay magical as expected. other than that, the ritz is the ritz, amazing room, food, views, and after being disappointed in the beginning a lot of attention to detail in the end.

The hotel, especially the grounds and views were amazing! 10/10! The hotel has a beautiful pool view, ocean view and mountain view! The rooms were beautiful and kept well. The staff would not let you lift a finger. I had a late flight and I was allowed a 3pm check out at no cost! I did come across some amazing staff that went above and beyond, extremely inviting and friendly and I would like to mention by name: Fajrul and Zablon from the outside pool bar and restaurant which was my fave place.. and Blaise who was our waiter who never stopped smiling at the 1st floor restaurant and the lovely Manval (names could be spelled wrong) from the same restaurant were so accommodating and warm… oh and that restaurant had the best buffet I had ever been to! So much variety.. just a great experience. I hope to be back one day.

Amazing start to finish, staff always eager to help. The minibar fridge packed in, and they replaced it with a brand new fridge within minutes! Attention to detail was amazing like remembering my coffee order each morning before me even saying. The Atrium Lobby is the single most spectacular lobby I have ever seen in my life, with the gorgeous chandeliers and intricate work on the high ceiling. Pictures and videos don’t do it justice.

4 pools, including a women’s only pool and women’s only beach which I appreciated. Never over crowded or busy, I guess people haven’t figured out this holiday spot yet. I hope it stays that way!

All you can eat lobster at the the seafood buffet which was a real treat. And a massive farewell at our last dinner at the Pavillion where they went the extra mile.

We were treated like royalty at the Bustan Palace and will certainly pay be back. I have been thoroughly spoiled and no other hotel chain will ever compare. Dare I say the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

Stayed for last night of our honeymoon. They went above and beyond to make it special with a surprise in our room and the best seat in the house for dinner, right on the beach. The Friday brunch was excellent - bring your appetite - and the staff (especially Victor) really made us feel at home. Ideal, top quality place to relax on the beach or by the pool, within driving distance of sights in Muscat.

Underwhelmed. Disappointed.

Disappointing. Heard so much about it and it looks so great from the pictures, but in reality it's tired, out of date, and the service - especially the front desk staff - is totally brusque and indifferent. The beach has washed away so it's just rocks now, so not really a useable beach resort. If you don't book restaurants days in advance you don't get a table. The rooms are from the 1980s it feels like; old and tired. For the price it's massively underwhelming.

Excellent food and service. Lovely setting with the mountains and a great pool. Perhaps a few updates/maintenance needed e.g. tennis courts and gym needed a bit of TLC but still very useable. Not particularly eco friendly with disposable plastic bottles everywhere and a fair amount of plastic washing up on the beach uncollected but I’d say this would be the same at all hotels in Oman sadly. All in all a great stay. Recommend renting a car if you plan to leave the hotel at all as it’s out of the way.

A very nice hotel. The entrance inside is grand and we welcomed with Omani coffee and dates. The rooms were decent, not too spacious but as a family who spend most of the time out of the room it was not an issue. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Dinner was good and chef made meals off the menu which was very kind.

The outdoor area is well kept. Beautiful pool, greenery and spa. The beach had hard rocks so not many people would swim. But overall it was a lovely setting.

A beautiful property with a stunning lobby, a large shopping boutique area and amazing food and resstaurants to choose from. The Six Senses Spa is an incredible experience and worth a visit. The only con is that it's a but too big of a place. Even after a few days, I was still confused how to navigate around the place from different elevator banks. And the walk from the 700 level rooms to the beach is lengthy. Even though a but too crowded for my liking, they do a great job setting up your beach chair and attending to your needs....you really only have to move to go to the washroom :)

Amazing team, very nice place, very beautiful beach and swimming pool. Lot of activities for kids (in a separate area) our baby girl (2 years) really enjoyed all the activities. Food was amazing. First day I was a little bit disappointed by the size of the bathrooom (let's be clear it's not very smalll, but not so big than in other hotels of this category) but after the amazing service I observed at the front desk, at the restaurant, at the pool, at the kids club, at the spa ... I totally forgot the size of the bathroom which is in fact the smallest detail of our experience. We will return for sure, with our daughter, we had so much fun, relaxing holidays, so much lovely little intentions, thank you for making our stay so nice.

The place is over 600.00 USD a night. They have very bad front desk service. It is over priced as yiu get very little as far as service. they are not very well run. The beach is beautiful. the hotel is very complicated and you must take many elevators to get from one part to the other and they take no time to explain that. they had no blowdryer in the room.

I stayed here despite having a previous bad experience at this hotel. We decided to give this hotel one more shot expressing our concerns to the staff. Nothing changed. Not worth all the money paid whatsoever. The shower curtain smelled bad, the room was small and the view was horrible. The service was bad. Not even a 3 star experience.

Huge and imposing building which takes some navigating, very nice first room with view straight out over the gardens to the sea. On our return we were rather cramped with a disappointing view over the Chinese restaurant mountain behind, rather than the booked sea view, but for an overnight stay it did not matter.
The staff are all very charming and helpful. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, and the grill restaurant is also good, with tables charmingly set in the sand. The beach is clean and peaceful, and the main pool is very attractive with its palm trees. The sun beds are very comfortable, and the beach staff are on hand with towels and cold water.The spa is well designed, and set quietly on the edge of the property. The whole hotel complex is set in its own bay, well removed from the city, but within easy taxi access. All this comes at a price.

Since then moment we walked in the hotel we have been amazed by the stunning look of the palace and the warm greeting of the hotel staff. All the facilities are ready available and every single corner of the hotel is absolutely clean. The pool, beach, restaurants and all other side activities are of the highest quality and standard. Better outside than in.

Quite the most stunning setting for a luxurious break. The hotel lobby is fabulous; check-in was very good and helpful (though it shouldn't be necessary to take a swipe of a CC). Our room looked ok (more later) but it was only a room with a double bed and an en-suite, thus not really marking it out from the competition.
The grounds are amazing; pools and palm trees everywhere, sun beds on hand, little cool boxes of water available for all.
Friendly staff abound. Beach and sea only a very short stroll away.
Plenty of dining options and fabulous food and wine available.
We had a problem with the bathroom in our room which was not very well dealt with, although we reached an amicable 'settlement' in the end. Shame really as it came close to spoiling our stay.
Disregarding that, it is a seriously lovely place to go!

Enjoyed our 5 night stay. Room cleanliness, breakfast, beautiful lounge area, early check-in were the positives.
Lack of shower for the convenience of older guests could be addressed. Also, disappointed with the inability/ unwillingness of the Reception staff to locate my Ritz Carlton membership with my name and email ; instead they credited the room nights to my Marriott account.

Hotel could be very nice without some customers... was very crowded and so so many very cheap customers made a 5 stars hotel becoming an ordinary cheap 2 stars. Customers going to restaurants in swimming suits or shorts, and teeshirts or shirts opened showing naked fat bellies... others blocking best located sun chairs with towels and showing up 4 hours later... or never... or others are not even able to discuss without shouting, not caring about ohers... for such hotel and cost, i highly recommend to go to the Shedi hotel. Cannot be compared to this hotel...

Stayed at the Al Busan for 3 nights, and had a really relaxing stay due to very friendly staff, great food and fantastic pool. We where there during low season so almost no people at all giving us high attention from the staff..... On the negative side (and have to search to find something) was that it's pricy on the food, a bit of from anything else and not fantastic wifi.... But other crime those minors a true 5-star hotel that I highly recommend !!

I was amazed by how many learned my name and used it to greet me, especially in the main restaurant. I had a mountain view room -- don't be put off by those. The mountains are very scenic and some rooms (like mine) face the Majlis, which is a huge white palace in the desert that serves as a sort of parliament. Very scenic. In many reviews, people recommend the lagoon rooms, which seem very unique. But in opting for one in high summer, keep in mind that the lagoon pools are very warm, like bathwater. The main infinity pool is much more refreshing as there are measures in place to try to cool the water. Another tip: don't be put off by a Ramadan visit. The hotel and grounds are very peaceful during the month of Ramadan. Some of the restaurants don't operate/ or change their hours, but it's a very serene time to be both at the hotel and in Muscat. As for summertime, the heat is definitely stifling, but the weather doesn't feel too bad when you walk along the beautiful beach in the late afternoon. The sea is a great place for a dip, or of course, the pool too. My room was large and very comfortable. Great A/C, Wifi, mini-bar stocked with free soft drinks, wonderful little box of welcome chocolates. I had a great visit at Al Bustan, was sad to leave, and look forward to returning again some day.

Enjoy the Bustan Palace

I have grown accustomed to the hotel. The staff are excellent. A good choice of exercise and recreational facilities - beach, swimming pool, spa, gym, indoor and outdoor, acres of space to walk around, great ambience.
