Staff were very friendly and helpful. Located in a safe, quiet urban neighborhood with few tourists, only a few blocks from Metro (subway) stations on several different lines. Lots of markets and places to eat nearby. Rooms on the front (east) side of the hotel face the street and are good if you want a view of the city's daily routine; rooms in the back are slightly quieter but neither are noisy. I had a room with a kitchenette, which was wonderful to sit over coffee in the morning and have lunch or supper options when I wasn't out to meet colleagues or friends for meals. Good WiFi but inquire because some rooms are too far from the router(s) for good reception. Would stay there again without hesitation.

The hotel is a short walk to several metro stations including the one that takes you to the airport so it's super convenient.

The rooms are massive and clean although the walls and windows are thin so would advise earplugs for a good night sleep.

The reception staff were also really nice and helpful. Overall a nice place to stay.

Upon arrival and without warning I’ve been given a smoker room. From the elevator you could smell cigarettes. After switching room nothing better. Was like time traveling to the 80s. Old furniture, horrible hairy carpet, curtains. Had a severe allergy crisis. Do not recommend.

Excellent location, able to access all stations. Very close to Santiago stadium and we also went to the zoo and athletico stadium is one train ride away. Beds so comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Apartment would Benefit from having a kettle and toaster too, simple appliances. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we loved it.

It's a perfectly ok hotel, just a bit tired and worn. Room was fairly clean, though when you find a needle (just an ordinary needle, not drug related) on the carpet, you have to wonder what else has been missed. Heating in my room was controlled by switching the fuse trip on or off, which isn't ideal.
On the plus side, staff are friendly and helpful, and it's in a good neighborhood, not far from shops, cafes and metro stations.

Make sure you confirm what type of room you have booked - we were put in a twin room rather than a room with a Queen bed.
Internet is ok, but seems to come and go a bit. Limited power points for electronic use and no desk.

Clean accommodation , kitchen was basic with no kettle or microwave but asked at reception and they were provided right away. We had a studio which was small but big enough for the two of us for a three night stay. Staff were friendly and helpful especially Allesandro in reception who helped us when we had difficulty with our return flight boarding passes.

Comfortable business hotel with weird lobby layout

Spacious apartment hotel but bed could have been bigger. Layout of the hotel was not standard--lobby in a central space with rooms in towers on either side such that you had to walk outside & up a curb plus up 2 steps in each tower before accessing the elevator. The staff was excellent & the location was fairly close to a convenient metro station.

The check-in process was fine but the room itself left something to be desired. It was very hot (even though the outside weather was cool) and the windows couldn't be left open at night due to lots of noise outside. The room was dated and in need of renovation. That said, the bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly. There was no possibility to make tea/coffee in the room.

Other than the grinding noises (I think from ongoing renovation works), our stay was very good.. Fortunately, the intermittent noises stopped before 9 pm so we could have very good sleep for our stay there..

Walking distance to 2 train stations.

I booked this hotel because I was looking to be close to Nuevos Ministerios station. This hotel is walking distance to 2 train stations and Expedia offered a great deal. The hotel is okay. It is on a quiet street and easy to get to. I booked two non consecutive nights. My first hotel room was extremely small but was okay since it was just me. The bathroom was extremely tight with two toilets being in the bathroom. I didn't like the crampness. There was hair in the bathroom. The second room that I had was extremely large with the huge balcony. I love the ambiance. The bathroom was larger. But there was hair in the shower and the trash can had not been emptied. Also if you prefer washing with a smaller washcloth bring your own. Nothing against this hotel but I stayed at multiple hotels during my stay and I noticed none of the hotels in Spain use them. You have to use the long foot towels.

Apartment near Bernabeu Stadium & metro to airport

I picked this hotel because of its location near the Real Madrid football stadium and the Nuevos Ministerios metro stop, just 5 stops from the Madrid Airport. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the AC in the unit. The staff responded immediately, and when they couldn't fix it, offered to move us. We didn't want to move, so they provided fans.

Convenient with parking.

The hotel was in a good position near to where my family live. It had a car park which was good, although a little difficult to get in to (very tight), but then space is at a premium in the centre of Madrid. The reception staff were always very helpful and welcoming, there was some work being done to the public ways in the hotel, but we were not disturbed by it, although it did make the lift a bit dirty. The rooms are adequate for a few nights stay, but a little tired. Maybe, they will be updated once the public ways are done!

Very Basic - don't pay in advance for Breakfast

Very basic but adequate if all you are looking for is a bed.

There were refurbishments taking place during my stay, although this wasn't mentioned at time of booking, they were quiet and did not affect my stay.

Rooms basic, bed and a tv, plus very basic kitchen facilities (no kettle though).

The area is a largely residential one, in what I was told was the 'poor' part of town, although a bit noisy I didn't find this an issue.

The hotel has no bar or restaurant, the breakfast is supplied via a voucher to use at a café at the end of the street, what you pay for and what you get could not be further apart, I would suggest not booking on a B&B basis as the 13€ or so extra for breakfast per night is vastly overpriced.

On the fifth floor all the rooms have massive outdoor terraces (mine was private and larger than the room itself). The location is walking distance to one of the main Metro hubs which allows easy access to the entire city of Madrid. The room was comfortable and large with small kitchen (with dishes), couch with table, and nice bathroom. The front desk staff speak English.

We stayed two nights prior to joining a tour. Enjoyed several small restaurants in the neighborhood.Took the metro to museums and galleries. The room was large and comfortable. One glitch with our reservation, we booked a non smoking room with a queen bed. We were shown to a smoking room which was not suitable and had to move to a room with two singles to get-non smoking. Another minor irritant is that the wifi expires each day at midnight. Had to get new password twice to cover the period of our stay.

Almost good, except for air conditioning

Some apartments are really large.
What was really a big disadvantage was an airconditioning.
In the first apartment where I stayed it was so loud (turning on and off), I couldn't sleep well. Then I got my room changed and this time the aircon, though quiet, was not sufficient to cool down the rooms - and the temperature controller was not useless.
On top of that during the last day, there was major water damage in the area, but that was non of the hotel cause.

I liked the adjustment style but felt it was lacking a few things. First, wifi was not free and was limited to three devices. So my friends and I had to choose which of our devices we would connect. To make things worse, the connection was extremely slow so that it was almost equivalent having no wifi.
Second, there was no microwave! We stayed in a number of.aparthotels and not once did we have one without a microwave. Until plaza basilica. There was also no iron in the room so we had request one.
I.asked for a non smoking room but the room definitely smelled of.smoke

Noisy street facing rooms

The rooms are spacious, clean and very nice. The staff is amicable and the location is good being a few blocks away two metro stations, restaurants, supermarkets and coffee shops.

But the air conditioning is noisy and the street facing rooms are not properly insulated from noise in the street.

Of the four nights we stood there three of them were on a weekend or national holiday. This resulted in people in the streets talking, yelling, and ending their partying in the wee hours of the night/morning.

It is not like they behaved like hooligans, it is more like we could hear everything from the room. It was so annoying that I called the front desk to ask them to do something about it. They said they cannot do anything unless there is clear aggression in their building.

They proposed I call the police myself to complain and gave me two phone numbers. I was not sure it would not require me to go through even more challenges at 3am in the morning and did not call.

May be staying in a non-street facing room would solve the problem? I would talk to the staff and ask them for assurances but leave after the first night if noise is still an issue.

The hotel is very close from the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and therefore very convenient to watch the Real Madrid play. But it takes 45 minutes to reach the airport in a non-rush hour time.

Basically simple! We stayed for two days so not a lot of time spent in the apartment but it did what we needed. We had bought tickets to a real game so location was ideal. Lovely to experience less tourist area although if ur spanish isnt great you may struggle a little around this area. Metro is very easy to use, quick and cheap, we used it for travelling to and from airport as well as travelling into the city centre. Although only easy if you are able to walk as the underground station is very long winded ,especially the locations of the line for city centre. For the price and location id stay here again! The rest is all about being a tourist! :)

Os quartos impecaveis a calefação do quarto por estar no inverno excelente. O Sr. Werven da recepção muito atencioso falava muito bem português. Facilitando muito. Hemos llegado al Espahotel Plaza Basílica en nuestros viajes a Madrid desde hace muchos años y siempre habíamos tenido una atención de primera, pero desafortunadamente en esta ocasión nos llevamos una gran decepción. Viajamos 3 parejas con 5 niños (menores de 11 años) y a pesar de que en sus políticas dice textual \"los niños menores de 13 años se pueden alojar con sus padres y los mayores de esa edad pagan como adultos\" nos hicieron rentar 4 habitaciones 3 estudio para 6 adultos y una presidencial para 5 adultos. No hubo manera de que la persona de la recepción entendiera que no podiamos dejar a los niños dormir solos y que dividirnos iba a ser un problema. Y así fue una pareja se tuvo que separar para dormir cada uno con un hijo y a otra pareja le tocó una habitación extra grande lo cual fue inequitativo. Pediamos rentar 3 habitaciones embajador pero nos dijo que ahí solo cabían 9 personas (niños o adultos) y de ahí no lo sacamos. Como se pueden imaginar esto fue bastante desagradable en unas vacaciones y habla mal del hotel pues si quieren cobrar por los niños cómo adultos están en su derecho solo no engañen por favor.
