I wouldn’t actually return to Puerto Rico due to the hills but the Servatur Montebello itself was just what I was looking for.
The guys in reception were so friendly & helpful, the apartment was clean and the pool was beautiful.
My only two issues were the tiny weeny bugs that were prevalent in the kitchen area (quite a lot, even though I kept killing them) & a lack of kitchen equipment (general crockery but no extras for food prep or storage).
Other than than (& the walk back up after going out), I had a wonderful time.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Montebello but improvements could be made.
The facilities were great, the hotel was spotless, the pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds and it's in a fantastic position not far from many bars and restaurants. The beach is only a 10 minute walk.
The only downfall was the lack of air conditioning which we knew when we booked. That said we were informed that we could rent a fan but they were all gone everytime we asked.
We'd definitely recommend people to stay here and We'd visit again ourseleves.

Return visit was a nightmare

My stay was very poor the room we got had a fly infestation and a very potent sewage smell. It took me having to share my medical history, recovering from breast cancer and that my immunity is compromised and therefore cannot risk getting bit as this would result in a hospital stay we were eventually moved to the apartment next door no smell and no flies. I also had to report to reception about a creepy man who stood outside my apartment and stared at me smoking on the balcony until I felt soo scared that I had to go in to my apartment and lock all the doors. This happened twice
Reception rang to remind me about the no smoking in apartment policy, one I agree with wholeheartedly but the tone of the caller was very sharp and implied that I was breaking this rule the apartment is equipped with smoke alarms and sprinklers and when I spoke to reception to make them aware of all of this I reminded them that any smoking would be identified immediately and I had not breached this and no alarm was raised
I was soo excited to spend the last few days of my holiday in the monte bello as the last time I was there I had been receiving cancer treatment and I was soo glad to be able to come back following treatment and the experience had been awful.
I spoke to the lovely Sebastien and explained the whole situation very calmly
I am soo disappointed with my experience this time

Really enjoyed our stay at the Montebello.

Check-in was easy despite having to wait as we arrived a few hours early. The room was on 9th floor and was perfect.

The balcony had 2 sunbeds along with dining table and parasol. Shower was lovely although we did think it was only cold water until we realised you need to turn on the boiler in the kitchen area :-) heads up there to any future guests.

The location is great too - easy to walk down either steps or slopes to main centre /marina. Taxi back is €4.25 max.

Good little grocery shop onsite although a little pricey- there’s a super Dino in Morgan mall which is best place to stock up.

Beds- clean and comfortable

Room was very hot so we asked for a fan from reception which helped.

Pool was clean and sunbeds were plentiful even in half term.

Little snack bar was nice for salads chips etc.

Great apartments in a great location. All the staff, particularly the reception team, were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Free WiFi which was fast and reliable. No air conditioning but you are able to hire fans. I would definitely recommend Servatur Montebello.

Nice hotel and adequate for a weeks stay. It’s quite far up the hill so it was necessary to get a taxi up (€3.85). Pool Bar has all you need food and drink wise and reasonably priced. I would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic accommodation for the price

Nice room which had everything we needed. Good view from balcony. Close to beach and shops. Not great if you struggle with steps but I’m sure most of the accommodations in Puerto Rico are the same.
My only gripe, which is not the fault of the accommodation, is that the people on the neighbouring balcony were smokers and the smoke wafted onto our balcony and filled our room.

Lovely apartment, balcony with the sun beds is wonderful - makes the whole \"towel on the sun bed\" game redundant. Everything you'd need for a self catering stay is there for you. On the down side - the snack bar breakfast isn't worth €5.50 - 1 rashers of bacon, 1 sausage, 2 eggs, some toast, a few beans, and cold tomato slices does not constitute a FULL English in my book. Also we had to contend with a few cockroaches in the room - not nice. If you have a heart condition, this place isn't for you - the walk to the beach is fine but all uphill on the way back - hard work. Hopefully the management will read this and address the bug problem - we were in 808, and I think they're behind the fridge!

Great beds, location and price

This hotel is older but very convenient and has had money spent on it. Upgraded equipment in rooms and decent mattresses for a good nights sleep. Very competitive price. Staff very friendly, reception, bar and pool.

Although reception is high up the hill on level 9, there are key card entrances at level 1 and 2, that are very close to the main shopping centre. Would recommend.

First Time at Montebello

First time at Montebello for us. Stayed at Puerto Rico very many times before. Yes it is on a hill but there is a gate at the very bottom of the complex which made it easy to get down to the centre. Also we found some steps (not on the road where the gate is but by the bus stop on the main road from the centre) which were not too bad to use when returning from the centre. It was December when we stayed so was not too hot but would imagine could be quite a climb in the summer heat. Could not fault the Montebello at all. Staff were very friendly and beds changed four times in the nine days we stayed there. Towels changed every day apart from the one day the cleaners do not work. Can recommend these apartments but if you do struggle with hills then this would not be suitable though the taxis are very cheap and always freely available both from the centre and the apartments.

Overall the apt was good we love out own sun loungers and balcony the kitchen let it down as it had only two rings not suitable for much cooking no hair dryer in the apt must be 10 years since I was in a complex without hair dryer they advertised satellite tv but you had to pay for it pool was good and had a life guard we used the pool bar and restaurant and was very good little difference between them and town prices. 208 steps down to town hard going if you are not fit

The apartment was great. There was a problem with the electricity in my first room but maintenance was there straight away and I was moved to another room as it wasnt a quick fix. Everyone was really friendly and it was a nice quiet chilled out atmosphere by the pool.

A decent place to stay. You get what you pay for.

The accommodation was pleasant enough and just what was needed for a week's break. The cleaning service was good and reception staff helpful. Not a place to stay if you don't like stairs, however you could say that for the entire resort of Puerto Rico. The onsite supermarket was useful, although not the cheapest and this along with the bar not staying open until late was abit of a set back. Whether it's because the holiday season is not in full swing yet, am not sure.
Would recommend younger friends to stay there if they are fit or want to be.

My second time. Good value, and close to both restaurants, pubs, beach, bus stop. Noise from clubs at night could be a problem if you sleep light. Nice view from 8th floor, big terrace, sun until 6pm. You get a good workout climbing the stairs, so could be tough for some. Cabs are cheap, and the bus is very cheap. It's a short walk to Amadores, or go by cab, bus or boat to Mogan, Arguineguin, Maspalomas, Playa del Ingles...

The room was a bit dirty. It was cleaned every second day not every day as it usually is. The room was situated above the swimming pool. That means I had a sleepless nights due to a noise comming from the roof. If you do not have a good stamina then you might have a problem to rich the hotel as it is situated on a hill.

Just home from 4 night stay, paid €226 which I was a bit wary of hotel condition at such a small price but it has what u need, clean basic room, nice clean pool and pool bar. The area is good, at 1st you might think it's very high up the mountain but going through the bottom gate and down the steps the shopping centre is a quick 5-10 min walk. Cheap wee getaway

We loved this hotel. All members of staff we encountered were friendly and extremely helpful at all times. Our room had a huge terrace which was like an extra room. We spent a lot of time just admiring the view. The maid kept everything really clean and tidy so we could just relax. Luis on reception went the extra mile and sorted out our problems.

This hotel is terrible either for the serv is or the rooms itself, we came late at night and no one was waiting for us and the room was closed, we rang the bell but nothing until a man of the facilities saw us and opened the door and gave us a key. The rooms had no air con and we had to give them 10€ of deposit to get a fan! But the third night we didn't slip at all cos we found some cockroaches in our room alive, we called the man of facilities but he said he didn't have any insecticide so he moved us to another room but we found them there as well, so stayed awake all nightlong waiting for the time the reception would open to get the refund and run away and guess? Instead of saying sorry and giving us all the money because of this inconvenience for us, they first had to call the boss and after he said ok, they gave us the money from the day we were leaving! so basically I paid also the night that I found the cockroaches and I didn't sleep! Thanks Montebello and thanks to Venere because this is the second bad hotel that I find through your site! Without any guaranty!

A very nice hotel with great views - it was definitely worth upgrading to an apartment as the studios were stifling hot - only one downside was parking - we often had to park down in town and catch a taxi up the hill which wasn't expensive but sometimes was a little annoying! We thought that the standards at the hotel were higher than its 2 star rating.
Accommodation was comfortable and very clean with a good maid service. Sufficient facilities with clean pool area and food/drinks bar.
very convenient to have a modest supermarket within the complex.
We heard that the complex was due to have major refurbishment this year - that would make it even better.
All staff were exceptionally helpful.
The complex is half way up a mountainside but is easily accessible by steps or if you struggle with that a short taxi ride takes you down to the town area.
We were happy and satisfied with our stay there.

Für eine Nacht okay, ansonsten nicht zu empfehlen:
Negativ: keine Klima-Anlage. Tagsüber okay, nachts wegen des Lärms in Puerto Rico schlafen - wenn überhaupt- nur möglich, wenn alle Fenster fest verschlossen sind.
Draußen brüllen Livebands gegen Discos an. Gebäude sehr hellhörig. Fliesen im Bad dreckig, Küchenflächen klebrig. Positiv: Kostenloser Parkplatz, schöner Pool, gutes und sauberes Bett

Hadde med barnebarn på 9 år. Han lærte både dykke- og stupeteknikk av badevakt Daimler (Dai blant venner og barn). Fint svømmebasseng. Negativt: hotellbeboere kom ut på solterrassen ved halv åtte-tiden hver morgen og \"reserverte\" solsenger ved å legge egne håndkler på sengene, gikk og kom tilbake ved 9-tiden. Må følges opp av hotellpersonalet da det står at reservering ikke er tillatt. Utover dette var alt topp. Veldig hyggelige personale i baren, behjelpelige resepsjonister og hyggelig vaskepersonale.

Likte leiligheta, spesielt den store terrassen og sol fra tidlig morgen. Ellers var det godt med utstyr på kjøkkenet. Håndduker og sengetøy ble ofte skifta. Renhold ellers var greit. Det negative var musikkstøy fra senteret til langt på natt, sov i ro er greit å ha.

Fin beliggenhet, en del trapper å gå, god utsikt fra balkongen. Vårt rom var uten aircon, så måtte ha dør til balkong oppe for frisk luft, noe som medførte at vi hørte støy og høy musikk fra sentret til langt på natt.
Lukt av kloakk på bad, spesielt på morgenen.
Hyggelig liten butikk med ferskt brød hver morgen.
Renhold var ok. Bærer preg av å være noe slitt.
