Great hotel, seventh time here. It's in need of a little tlc, but overall very good. Close to shops, bars, restaurants, and local transport. Only one downside... the music around the pool is way to loud, and, as it's a continuous loop of Spanish Latin dance music, it gets annoying when it's on all day.

The resort was very good overall, but there are a few areas that could be improved.

One disappointment was that no tea, coffee, milk, or complimentary water was provided in the room, apart from a single bottle of water at the start of my stay. This is the first time I've experienced this, as even many 2-star hotels usually provide these basic amenities. I had to buy my own tea, milk, and water throughout the stay, which was inconvenient.

The rooms could also have been cleaner. For example, the bathroom mat was clearly dirty and was not replaced during my stay.

On a positive note, most of the staff were excellent, friendly, helpful, and professional. Because of their service, I would still rate the resort 4 stars overall.

This hotel is not good useful for family because first day after sleeping at the night we was too many fly and worms in the room and bed and also go in side to our dressing my teenager daughter. And also toilet was so bad smell like Sewage .So my first day of our holiday broken and my daughter had stress and crying. And second day did my room chenge and our time holiday went to move room . The staff and pool are absolutely fantastic with plenty to do. We didn't get take the opportunity to explore the 'Island of Stars' as the main pool wasn't uncomfortably busy and we were only on a reasonably short stay. Also cant comment on the food as we ate out each day with friends who live locally.
Unfortunately the rooms (or at least the one I was in) are in a need of a bit of a refresh although this could be easily achieved. Our room could have done with being a little more spacious and it was a little bizarre how the middle door on the wardrobe was fixed shut (although we did choose a basic room). Was also a little odd how there was a door frame on the one wall which had just been blocked in with plasterboard, but the door architrave left in situ? No issues with hot water availability and the cleaners are constantly working away to keep the communal areas and rooms as clean as possible (With the exception of the communal shower... to be covered separately).

On the final day it was our intention to use the downstairs communal shower as our airport shuttle wasn't until 5pm. We checked on the facilities early in the day and found them to have a foul sewage smell. At that time there were two people showering and one was literally heaving at the smell! Later in the afternoon we found raw sewage spewing from the toilets and all over the floor in the mens toilets in particular. Staff were aware and just said it would be cleaned tomorrow.

Stayed here many times, the rooms are in need of a little sprucing up, but are more like mini apartments, most with mini kitchens and outside lounge area.

Just a short walk from the Europa Centre, and a 40 minute transfer from the airport.

All in all reasonably good for the price.

Initially, the hotel seemed like a pleasant choice for a family holiday. However, our experience took a turn for the worse on our last night. After returning from dinner, we discovered our room was infested with cockroaches. I immediately reported the issue to the front desk and requested someone come to clean and spray the room for any further insect activity. Despite my efforts, no one showed up. I went back a second time to reiterate the need for urgent action, but we were left sitting outside until 1 AM with no resolution. Ultimately, we had no choice but to sleep in a room overrun with pests. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone due to the poor service we experienced.

We went half board the hotel was very busy, meals were buffet, food was of great choice but not so hot, christmas dinner was the best of all and served hot, staff i cannot fault they were very efficient both dining and cleaning staff, we did complain about no lighting outside on the stairway 4 times it was very dark and dangerous, the apartment was in need of renovation it was very worn out and old where some areas had bad repairs done with mould also in areas, the smell from the sewage drain was sickening we had to deal with that ourselves, only 1 elevator was in use the whole time we were there.

After reading the negative reviews I became really anxious about my family holiday, to the point where I almost cancelled! I’m so pleased I didn’t because we had the most amazing time! The staff were incredible and views were spectacular. It’s a lovely downhill walk to Amadores Beach which is sensational and walking enthusiasts will enjoy the uphill challenge back up however for those of you not fancying an uphill climb, a taxi rank is nearby and only costs €4-5 for the journey! There were no issues with the lift when we got there and the mini disco is great entertainment for kids. The breakfast selection is wonderful! We loved having the sun loungers on our balcony and the Solarium is a wonderfully tranquil part of the hotel where you can chill out. I’d definitely come again :)

One Night Stay

Stayed here for one night before we moved to another hotel. Bar and pool area is nice. Rooms are extremely dated with no air con.
As I was checking out a father was at reception complaining water was running down the wall into a socket where his daughter was sleeping. Things got heated and the receptionist and father stepped outside to finish the conversation. Last I heard was the father telling the receptionist to take a step back and cool down.
Glad to be out of there.

Staff are great, they work really hard and are keeping this place going. The hotel I would expect was previously a 4* but it is very tired now and needs work doing to keep it at 3*. My son left his iPad in the snack area, it was safely put behind reception by the staff for us to collect later, the staff were brilliant for our stay, hard working and friendly despite all the issues they have to face with problems of a hotel that has seen better days - big up to the staff at Riosol.

No courtesy transport to and back from peurto rico, dinning staff and food was 4 out 5 for service, staff cleaning tables, all the bottom panes of glass were broken around the restaurant. A few cockroaches in the room was upsetting hence the low score. The balcony area was run down, the rooms were too hot and only one fan in the room was limited the opportunity to cool down, the reception staff were great and sadly the local europa shopping centre was just awful

First it takes forever to find you room? No help just a map no signs and bad number system

Found an infestation of cockroaches when I found my room

Only 1 person on reception did not seem to care gave me another room!! Went to that room and a lady came to the door rather annoyed as she was in that room!!

What a disorganised hotel. Was then told they would clean my to of cockroaches and I could then go stay there!!!

This hotel is unfriendly and confusing layout and more importantly full of cockroaches.. we left and same time another customer was complaining of cockroaches…

Don’t stay here!! Should not be on Expedia

Property was in a good location with nice views and good swimming pool. However the food and drinks quality was average at best. Specially for the veg options (hardly anything). At times the staff did make us a veg pizza but could have pizza in afternoon and evening every day of our stay. So basically average food with very little veg choices. Drinks in the all inclusive were average at best. All in all of for a few days stay at the price but could be better if they look into more better options for food and drinks. Apart from that free parking was available just few mins walk from the property and reception staff was good also.

Riosol reasonable

The riosol is very dated and in need of renovations no air con in the 1 bed apartments and they give 1 fan if available! Should have a fan for every room. Staff in reception very helpful but the service is very slow always queues in reception. Pool is lovely and clean can get beds from 830am, its early but not as early as some places. Snack bar food was fairly priced and happy hour on local drinks 4-5pm was good but not openly advertised so only found out after 6 days into holiday. We paid to use the roof top pool twice which was a lovely area but couldnt understand why not all beds didnt have a nice mattress? The second time someone went in at 10am put 1 towel on a double sunbed with mattress which is fine as he paid but he never returned all day as we left at 5pm and it closed at 6pm, his towel should have been moved to a single bed no mattress but thus wasn't monitored. 8 days of the holiday we had no use of the lift as it was broken so we endured many steps, just glad we were only half way down and not right at the bottom. For what we paid I would say the standard of the hotel was reasonable but many improvements are needed at this hotel to make it a more pleasurable stay.

I was traveling with a woman who does not have good legs and she uses a walker, we travel a lot, but i was not prepared for all the stairs and hill to get to our room. for a supirior 2 bedroom apartment, i also expected more comfort and better outside furnitures.

We had a great week at riosol hotel, staff were friendly, room immaculate and food fantastic! The girls that ran the daily activitives were so happy and enthusiastic, they were great with the kids. Some areas are a little run down but you can see them working to improve and the new areas are very stylish and immaculately clean. Only major downside was the beds :( very very uncomfortable so didnt sleep well all week. Local beach is beautiful and the hotel ran a free shuttle to and from which was perfect. Thanks to all the staff for looking after us!

Breakfast buffet is excellent. Wide variety of food to choose from. Thanks to the cook and service staff for preparing healthy meal to keep us fit. Every night different shows to watch. There are programs in between for all ages. Rooms are ok with a great view from the terrace. A comfortable sofa bed would be nice though. Hotel personnels are very accomodating and friendly.

Riosol Stay 2019

Although building work in progress and lifts not yet finished it had no impact on our stay as a courtesy car was laid on to assist with getting between floors if required. The staff were excellent, especially the receptionist, Ricardo I think, and the chef with a beard who was always cheerful and joking. The pool attendant who had a particularly difficult job with the morning sun bed races was very pleasant and helpful and did his best to monitor the beds and would then remove towels of people taking liberties if they did not return within an adequate timeframe. The all inclusive food was the best we have had in any all inclusive hotel so far, so, great credit for this and a good selection for all tastes. Room spotless and always kept that way daily and a balcony with amazing views. Great hotel which I'm sure will be even better once all the ongoing improvements are completed.

Very help full staff ,in good location.
The hotel lifts where out of order (the hotel is built into the clif) which ment a very lot of stairs to get to the pool ,restaurant and reception, so not for the faint hearted. But helped to worked off all the food we had eaten.
The hotel is having work done which is on going .. on and on .... I was in a basic room which was ok for what I paid .. but could do with painting and a bit up dating.
The food was amazing .. (but could have done with a microwave at times to heat things up.. (We where last week which was out of season so might reflect this) I was all inclusive , which had some restriction .. which could be explianed or given a leaflet on arrival to let u know what they are ..we had to ask others what they were!
The entertainment was ok!!! but was in a small foyer.. as the bar down stairs was closed.

Stayed at the Riosol on numerous occasions and have to say due to the work being carried out this is probably the worst. Hotel is making some efforts to atone for the misery but I think they need to do a bit more, we traveled late December when the website said new lifts would be available from 5th January only to turn up and see that the website had been changed and it was now March..YES MARCH before the lifts would be available. Would I return? Yes probably although not until the building work is completed and It’d have to be on some sort of deal because I think the hotel has delusions of grandeur given the new rates going forward.

My boyfriend and I stayed 12 nights in this hotel and i have to say that we were expecting something more than what we got. The room wasn’t really clean and on arrival we didn’t have any towels and I had to go ask the receptionist about it and he seemed a little surprised too. There is not air conditioner or fun so we struggled a little during hot days. The food was repetitive and we didn’t have much choice as well.
The hotel in general is really pretty and the view was amazing and so the night entertainment shows.
We booked some experiences through Asia the lovely girl that helped us to choose the jeep safari and the dolphins tour which we really enjoyed!
The location is not too far from the centre and there is a free transfert that runs every hour from 10 am to 4 pm, however I would have preferred if it could extend the hour ad list until 6 pm so we didn’t have to take a taxi to go back from the beach but it’s just my personal opinion.
Finally I don’t think we are coming back but we did spend some good moments.

This was our 2nd time at the Riosol,the previous time being on a self-catering basis.The room was clean and comfortable but basic.but on a major plus point had a double bed!!!the pool areas were good,with plenty of beds,and the bar area was good.However,for me,the major surprise was the all-inclusive.it was excellent, far surpassing my expectations.i would have no hesitation in going back to the Riosol on an all-inclusive basis

Great service, specially from the restaurant staff, every one had a smile and looked after my 5 year old well when at the restaurant. The hotel was well located near shopping mall with 2 supermarkets Spar and Hyperdino, some pubs Irish and British, clothing etc. I booked a transfer from airport on TravelRepublic site only cost 25£ in December 2017 for 3 people return. This place has access to 3 beaches Anfi, Puerto Rico and Amadores taking a taxi would cost about 8€ return.

The hotel has entertainment everynight and the staff there did feel like they are interested in entertaining the guests. Would recommend.

Would definitely go back to this hotel upgraded from basic room to room with kitchen and sun beds on the balcony nice pool areas and didn't have a problem getting sunbeds staff friendly enough.

Excellent sea view

Unfortunate experience of a noisy cricket who decided to reside right outside our apartment bedroom window.

This noise continued until the day before we left the resort. Only downside to our stay, lack of comfort and sleep in the apartment due to moving around to get a good night's sleep. All other aspects of the hotel were acceptable/good. Very helpful member of staff called Roberto. Always happy to assist with any problems or issues, lovely staff.

The hotel is begining to get a bit dated, and could do with a spruce up in certain parts. our apt had a broken shower head. The pool area was always crowded and sunbeds were hard to come by, it could do with more of them. The lift has a mind of it's own and the stairs are difficult for some people.

Hotel is nice with amazing views right on top of the mountain. However to go for a simple walk to the beach or shops in the day or evening would cost 8 euros there and back each time we did this. We read reviews that its close to the beach but they missed the part of having to get a cable car lift down to the bottom of the hotel which takes forever...and then approx 1000 steps which even then you seem miles away! We had a 3yr old and this was not possible. The hotel itself had poor entertainment for children..nothing to do during the day for them. We booked the most expensive premium apartment..on arrival room was full of ants and cockroaches and had asked to be moved. The next day we moved to another apartment which was cleaner but had the incovenience of moving our luggage again up and down stairs onto a lift to get to the room. When I mentioned this to the receptionist she didnt seem bothered and we had to ask for help with our luggage. Europa shopping centre is close by but can get very boring seeing same old few shops and restaurants every day. I imagined it to be bigger having read previous reviews. Views were amazing..wifi wasnt the best as kept going down. Oh and the restaurant didnt do much to help cater for us being vegetarian.

Low budget hotel

It's ok for a 3 star, what you pay is what you get, unless you stay in the premium apartment I wouldn't bother as the standard rooms looked horrible and dingey. Right at top of hill with 700 steps down to the beach so difficult with young children, pushchairs etc. Food is nice but if you get half board you do get a little bored of lack of variety. Our room included wi-if but we were not able to connect to it at all so had no wi-if all week, hotel refunded money for it at the end.

Nice hotel, great staff, good location, clean

It was the first holiday with our 20months old daughter so we were a little bit concerned. Unnecessarily as everything was totally fine. We came to the hotel and the first impression was really good: nice hotel, friendly, helpful reception staff who directed us to our room. We went to see the room and we were nicely surprised: terrace with 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a table, spacious living room, clean and modern with a small kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle and everything u need to prep something to eat. Bedroom with 2 single beds(we put the together), big wardrobe, dressing table with mirror and chair. Bathroom clean and big enough. We asked for travel cot before we arrived(email) and everything was prepared at the time we came- travel coat and baby bath- we used it a lot :) Room was regularly cleaned and towels changed as required. Food...was amazing- I relly enjoyed it, a lot of choices and every night different cuisine. Of course that there were tomatoes, lettuce, olives and cucumber every day but it was extra to the main dishes and I like it so no complaints. There is 3 swimming pool include one for the little ones- my daughter really enjoyed the time she spent there playing. Enough loungers and umbrellas but we were there in the middle of June so just before school holidays have started. Animation was also good- aquaerobics, mini disco, etc.

Good place for a family holiday - the apartment was the right size (we had a premium one), clean with complementary wine and fruit. Nice view, great patio (our 1.5 old son really enjoyed it :)). Also once returned back noticed that we were charged twice (by expedia and by the hotel) - sent a message to the hotel via expedia and the issue was dealt by the hotel immediately.Overall good experience.

Overall condition of this hotel

Badly in need of modernisation. The lift (and believe me this hotel needs a decent lift) is a rattlely old cable car type which when there's a strong wind gets stuck at stops due to the doors blowing open.
This lets the hotel down badly as it is inadequate for the number of floor levels and guests in residence.
Would be totally unsuitable for the disabled or elderly.

Awful grotty hotel not a 3 star

Hotel is dirty, mouldy and very loud. You can hear every word from other guests and bangs. Terrible calibre of people. Hotel staff can't stand you. Could not shower there had to pay into a spa round the corner. Had my phone robbed.

To My horror.....

To my horror ....as I started to dose off my first night spied GIANT cockroaches invading room! Given up grade but think Faulty Towers. Staff endearing, wifi patchy/ non- existant, food pretty bland. Stunning location and facilities though.
