Very good hotel with comfortable rooms, decent pools and great food choices on the AI package.

There's room for improvement with the animation and entertainment options a bit weak both day and night, as well as clearing tables quicker particularly in the outside area where the pigeons are annoying. Location on the hill may not suit some, but it's only a short taxi ride to/from the town below.

We would definitely return as it's a very well run hotel!

We stayed at this hotel in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria, and while we had an enjoyable time, there were a few issues to note.

Positive Aspects:

Spacious Rooms: Rooms were large, well-equipped, and clean, making for a comfortable stay.

Nice Aesthetic: The hotel has a modern, stylish design, adding to the overall ambiance.

Location: The hotel is in a fantastic spot with stunning views, just a short walk from the beautiful Amadores Beach.

Food: The food was good with a wide variety, though it became repetitive toward the end of the week.

Negative Aspects:

Crowded Pool Area: The pool area felt cramped with closely packed loungers, and sun lounger tables were often dirty.

Cleanliness Issues: Unfinished food was left out too long in restaurant areas, attracting pigeons. At breakfast, food from the night before was still on the floor. One evening, families had to change tables because of cockroaches.

Drinks: All-inclusive drinks were disappointing. Cocktails were extra, and self-service beer pumps by the pool frequently ran out, making us search for working ones. The cups were also too small.

Bar Staffing: The lobby bar was understaffed, so we had to go to the pool bar, which was inconvenient.

Conclusion:

While we enjoyed our stay, many issues could be fixed with better staffing and attention to detail. The hotel has potential, but improvements in cleanliness, service, and drink offerings would enhance the experience.

Our stay at Servatur Puerto Azul was very positive, though best suited for families.

Rooms: Daily cleaning was a plus, but floors were dusty and patio doors lacked a child lock (though heavy).

Pools & Sun Loungers: All pools were pleasantly warm. Be prepared to reserve sun loungers early (before 7 AM is essential for a good spot; by 9 AM, none are left). Pool areas can be slippery; water shoes recommended.

Food & Drink: Buffet food was good, with variety lasting about 10 days. Steaks, Asian station, and ice cream were highlights. Self-serve drinks were great, and the main bar offered improved cocktails and a special banana liqueur sangria.

Service: Staff, Sule, Joel, Katherine, Ylena, Marta, and Moodu were great and stood out. Tipping protocol was unclear. Reception service was inconsistent.

Facilities & Check-out: Laundry (2 washers/dryers, €5, card only) and no pool clocks (bring a watch). Tables often wobbled.

Check-out shower booking was confusing; checked out at booked slot at 8:30 AM, all showers were occupied by our 5 PM slot, causing a 20-minute wait. A thoughtful touch: a card for drink dispensers was provided due to our wristbands expired at 12:00 Noon.

Overall: Warm pools, good food/drinks, and clean rooms were highlights. Be ready for the sun lounger \"race.\" This hotel is geared towards families. While we try new places, we'd consider returning.

Great for families who love noise.

Big family hotel. Very nice and clean and comfortable rooms. Lots of families and kids. Very loud and noisy. All inclusive buffet with very few options for gluten free, healthy options. Very practical for a family vacation with kids. If you don't have kids, I would go somewhere else.

Great location and views. Great pools and activities for the kids. Rooms were nicely renovated and well equipped. Good to have so many drinks stations around the pool. Hotel was very busy during the week we went which meant finding a free table for dinner was stressful. But the food was good, with a good range for us and the kids.

From the moment I entered, I wish I had booked my whole holiday here.
I wasn’t happy with my current accommodation so I booked my day here. I paid all inclusive for 5 hours before my flight. I enjoyed the room, pool bar and food. It was 100 worth it and would have been a similar price to a day at a beach club.
I’m going to book this hotel for me and my family in a few weeks

Absolutely lovely hotel, we were welcomed at reception by a joyous member of the hotel. She gave us all the details we needed and good information on how to get to our room. The room was a Junior Suite over looking the sea, it’s was tidy and comfortable and cleaned everyday for the 7 nights of our stay.

The restaurant was well organised with plenty of seating for everyone. The food is good with a good variety, this is cooked fresh in front of you. Staff are very attentive and always polite.

Plenty of swimming pools catering for everyone from kids to adult only. All the pools are clean and tidy.

We will definitely be returning in the future..

Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday so pleasurable 😁🙌

We were regular guests at the hotel pre pandemic, but the major remodel in 2021 has made this property into a luxury resort.
Front of house staff are friendly; attentive and adhere to support all requests made.
Our room was kept spotlessly clean on a daily basis and the dinning hall was filled with a polite and courteous team of which nothing was too much trouble.
The improved animation team provided fun and entertaining evening shows; quizzes and daily activities in and around the pool.
There is a taxi rank immediately outside the hotel should you require transport and I believe a small shop will be available onsite once the remodel is complete.
A stunning hotel; beautiful views at a reasonable price.

My family and I had a fantastic experience in this hotel. When we arrived, we got a bottle of red wine instead of the Champaign that they give as a welcome drink to all guest that is finished. The staffs are friendly, cheerful and service minded. We throughly enjoyed our stay. One thing I think they could improve is their entertainment and the hotel is old . but they said that the hotel will be renovated with in 3 years. So I hope to be back after it is renovated

A very welcoming hotel, everything to ensure you have a great holiday. Fabulous views, spacious pool and bar areas, large dining room. Big choice of food and drink and all very plentiful. Helpful and attentive staff in the dining room, reception, the bars and entertainment team. Maids, maintenance and kitchen staff all friendly, they all said ‘hola’ and nothing at all was a problem.

I thought the resort was great value for money. Food was excellent and definitely above 3*. Stayed in the junior suite which was good with nice patio area. Pool area great, plenty of sun loungers. Kids and day time entertainment very good. Only negative, was I thought the night time entertainment could have been better. Overall had a fab 2 relaxing week's holiday!

2nd time at the hotel in a junior suite which is worth the upgrade, air con , kitchen and extra space , the rooms are getting a little tired and the maintenance of the rooms could be a lot better, grout missing , floors badly patched up, however the service is fine and the food we find really good , adults only area is busy but can cope,weather was fantastic all week , local area bars and restaurants all good , definitely consider the hotel again if maintenance improved

All in all it was a lovely stay! The all inclusive food and drinks were great, the staff were friendly and helpful and the weather was fab! There are plenty of sunbeds so we could always get one regardless of the time of day. The adults only area was a great perk! The room was very dated but we were only in our room to sleep and the bed was comfy. The balconys are huge with amazing sea views! A great cheap and cheerful break!

The hotel has been upgraded and since it last stay around 5 yrs ago I was very impressed .
The staff so helpful and friendly with everyone
The beds and pillows amazing think all hotels should follow the example
Memory form mattresses and large comfy pillows was excellent . The views are outstanding across Puerto Rico beach and out to sea
The animation staff work so so hard
And the young woman in the upstairs bar is so very pleasant
Reception staff fabulous my husband and I became ill they were so kind and helpful giving advice calling taxi’s
And ambulance and translating for us thankfully we got medication and returned to the hotel with flowers and wine put in our apartment Thankyou for this
The only thing is the food was not always warm but other than that I can’t fault this hotel

The only thing that we didnt like about this hotel was having to use about 3 different lifts to get down to our hotel room. You got used to the complicated system after a couple of days, but its a bit of a pain!
The rest of the hotel was nice, pool area was clean, our room was better than expected considering we only paid for a standard room which hadn't been upgraded. The location of the hotel is perfect, we had a hire car but we could walk down to puerto rico or amadores beach easily. The all inclusive food and drink was really good. we met a lot of people who stayed for two weeks at a time and come back every year for their family holiday. The views from the adult only pool area are to die for!

Most horrible hotel I have ever stayed in. Some staff seemed like they were annoyed they had to communicate with Americans. Very outdated hotel. Bed is uncomfortable. Front desk girl booked my excursion on wrong day and wasted my time. Tennis court had no lights. It required 2 different elevators to get to my room. I had to travel to front desk daily because room card would self-deactivate. They charge you to use safe. Just a great disappointment.

THE HOTEL IS SITUATED QUITE HIGH ABOVE PUERTO RICO AND NEAR TO THE EUROPA CENTRE. THE VIEWS FROM OAR BALCONY WUR FANTASTIC. THE BEDROOM WASN'T THAT BIG BUT WAS CLEANED EVERY DAY. THA FOOD WAS A BIT HIT AND MISS. TAXI'S FROM THE HOTEL TO PUERTO RICO/MOGAN PLENTIFUL AND CHEAP ALL IN ALL ITS A LOVELY PLACE FOR A HOLIDAY.

The hotel is nice with great food! The location is ok - the nearest beach is about a 15 minute walk down some steps. The hotel itself can be quite confusing due to its sheer size - we had to get 3 lifts to our room and we were some of the closer rooms.

Hotel was better then I was expecting. First holiday that I'd booked myself so not sure how it would all work out. Was better than I could have imagined. Friendly staff. Good food. Rooms are standard with all the facalities you need. But for me, you don't go away to spend time in the room. Fantastic views and brilliant pool. Adult only jacuzzi was a bonus as I didn't know about that until I got there. Very clean. My only compliant is the tiny little cups they use. But thats nothing in the grand scheme of things. Everything was brilliant.

It's a bit run down but the rooms are clean if a bit dated. No air con in most rooms & not enough fans to go round which is bad when it's so hot. The food is fine, typical European All Inclusive, you'll always find something to eat. The staff are very very helpful & always try their best. Truly relaxing, staff friendly helpful and efficient. Excellent choice of food and drinks, sea view apartment had fantastic views. Excellent location for nearby bays though the walk back tests your fitness, taxi only 3 euros if you don't want to walk! The adult area with sunloungers and jacuzzi pool is pure bliss. I will definitely go back to this hotel, excellent value for money

Friendly staff, outdated decor but great location

The hotel is located in Puerto Rico which is close to some of the best beaches in Gran Canaria (Anfi, Amadores) and other family attractions like Palmitos Park and Angry Birds Park. The rooms are very small and very dated and definitely not sparkling clean, but the staff are brilliant and the all inclusive buffet isn't bad -there's local specialties as well as international dishes, and the breakfast is fantastic with full English, pancakes, fruit, veg, fresh bread and a selection of cheeses and meats and a variety of hot drinks. The more modernised gaming room/kids cinema and arcade were a big hit with the kids. We booked this particular hotel because they are supposed to have heated pools but this 'function' was broken during our entire stay so we stayed well clear of the pools. Nonetheless, this is a good budget alternative, especially if you're not planning on staying in your room much anyway...oh and you had better be prepared to be surrounded by Scandinavians!!!

The reception were great on arrival and throughout the stay, helpful with daily activities/knowledge of area and local markets. Made it a very easy check in and check out service. Double Room was a good size, with a bath in the ensuite. Balcony looked on to another hotel, however we did have a slight sea view. Fridge was good to have in the room, large TV with few channels (only CNN being English speaking) however for only €7 you can have sky sports, movies, bbc 1 and itv for 2 days. Unfortunately the room did not have air conditioning and instead a small electric fan. Room did have a safe however had to pay a fee to use it. The all inclusive drinks were great, beer very cheap tasting! Pool bar all inclusive opens at 10 and finishes at 11. Entertainment was very hit and miss and everything closes at 11 which isn't great for young couples. Food was average, buffet style with few gems amongst lots leftovers. Pool was clean and adult area was great to get away from children! Despite several signs forbidding sun bed reserving, every morning from 8am every sun bed would be covered with a towel even though the pool doesn't open until 10! Every day we would get the worst beds with no shade or umbrella whereas there would be several set up without any occupants. Would recommend for families but not young couples.

No air conn in the rooms and no Gym on site was a set back, but other than that we were fine - given that we had no expectations since the vacation was intended for a sit back and relax break from doing anything. The rooms photographs on the web site bore no resemblance to the room offered - (think basic Greece standards and you won't be far off)

Cheap weeks break in the sun

Didn't end up being as cheap as we expected as you get what you pay for. On arrival we where allocated a tiny basic room with tiny balcony and a poor view the result being we paid a further €60 euros to upgrade and an additional €30 euros to clean our room which we had to stay in for 1 night until a better room was available (apparently)
food was good hotel is lovely pool really nice would go again but pay for an upgrade to the apartment or new refurb rooms

Good value all inclusive

Stayed for 10 nights in August 2014. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Stayed in rooms that had not been renovated, but they will still of a fairly decent standard. Pool area very spacious. A bit of a nightmare getting to room, having to use 2 lifts - but once we got the hang of where we were going this was not a problem. Animation team provided activities throughout the day. Food and drinks good. Good value for money.

Beware of the Building Site

The hotel is currently a building site. They are in the middle of a major refurbishment. Guests are required to share the lifts with building rubble, bags of cement and lime and sweaty builders ( which may be nice on a hen do but not good when your in you're swimwear. Corridors are filthy due to the dust and cement residue. Staff are not rude but make no attempt to talk to or interact with the customers ,I knew the builders better than I new the staff.Pool sare nice and the food is reasonable, entertainment team are none existent, the only time i saw the \"entertainment team\" was when they came to the bar for dinner.if going within the next 6 months take some steal toecapped clipflops.

Good Hotel

Travelled 2nd to 9th May. Had a lovely sea view which I asked for. Staff pleasant and hotel good. I have stayed here before but a few years ago. Food is plentiful and always something to suit. I notice people have given bad reviews for the food but I couldn't fault it. There is loads to choose from. Hotel staff were pleasant. Drinks were on tap on a self-service basis and that included the hot drinks machine too. Great for children who can just go and help themselves to cold drinks. It was good too because they had every different flavour of cordial to choose from and I had quite a few lime and lemonade drinks. Loved the adult only area and the jacuzzi pool. Had a lovely peaceful holiday and would recommend this to anyone. Entertainment was really for families and children and most of the children and families seemed to enjoy the show. Thank you Puerto Azul for making our stay a pleasant one. A special mention for Christina who was on the entrance of the dining hall most nights. Her smile lit up the room.

Stayed on this hotel from 17/4 - 30/4 2014, and we had a very pleasant stay.
Our room (4 persons) had a balkon with the best view over the ocean ever. Some nice sunsets...
Pools and surroundings were very nice and clean all the time.
The poolbar served some nice drinks :-), and the food served at the restaurants were excellent.
Good entertaining every evening - both for the kids and more grown up.
Quite a steep walk to the beach and harbour though - but I guess with all that food its a good thing :-)

Good location for the beach with direct access from the 705 steps down to it. Hotel upgrading some of the services and have just opened a room for teenagers which looks fab. Good pool area with a section for over 18's only and a Jacuzzi area with superb views over the sea.

Bott på 9 olika all inclusive hotell genom åren. Detta har den bästa maten. Bra uppvärmda barnpooler. Rent och snyggt.
Enda nackdelen är att hotellet ligger på en bergstopp så det är lite ansträngande att gå till och från stranden eller centrum. Men i min bok full port

Die Zimmer und die Anlage ist sehr sehr sauber, das Essen war wundervoll, abwechslungsreich und lecker und das Personal freundlich. Alls in allem wirklich gut.

Høyt lydnivå i restauranten, så det er lurt bruke uteområdet utenfor for å spise.

Meget bra treningsstudio og ingen krig om solsenger. Svært gode fasiliteter for barn. Vi er her på andre året på rad, og er fornøyde begge ganger med oppholdet.

For høy musikk ved bassenget.

Personal var överlag väldigt trevliga men några av dem som jobbat lite väl länge kanske behöver fundera på om de ska testa något annat yrke. Men annars väldigt nöjd med hotellet. Alltid platser vid poolen. Väldigt god mat. Rent och fräscht.

Flott hotell med fantastisk utsikt! Rent og ryddig, og veldig fint med 2 områder med 18 års grense. Litt dumt for de som ikke har All in Clusive at det ikke er noen restaurant der, men mulighet for kjøpe buffet er jo der. Rommene ble vasket hver dag hvis man ville det, men de var tidlig på’n med vasking på morningene. Tips ville de gjerne også ha.
Flott opphold og vi kommer gjerne tilbake.

Fantastisk uge med to glade børn. Rengøringen var middelmådig, både på værelset og på resten af hotellet. Men alt andet kompenserer i så høj grad, at vi planlægger at komme retur. Både hotellets egen underholdning samt Lollo og Bernie klubben var alle pengene værd for vores børn på 3 og 7 :-)

9 piscines dont 3 réservées pour les adultes

Spectacle tous les soirs
Salle de repas agréable
Buffet pour tous les goûts avec large choix de plats ( méditerranéen, italien, viande, poisson, asiatique et la fameuse fontaine de chocolat avec bonbons et fruits)
Personnel sympathique et chambre refaite tous les jours.
2 plages en contrebas à 15 minutes a pieds

Es handelt sich um ein großes Hotel im Süden von Gran Canaria in Puerto Rico. Es hat (insbes. für Kinder) eine tolle Poolanlage mit 2 gr. Rutschen, aber auch Bereiche nur für Erwachsene. Der Gym ist gut ausgestattet (ab 16 Jahren nutzbar), der Spa-Bereich mit gutem und normalpreislichen Angeboten.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, sehr zuverlässig, die Anlage sehr sauber.
Nur bei den Essenszeiten ist es im Restaurant sehr laut (hierfür kann allerdings das Hotel nichts) und man sollte bei den Essenszeiten am Anfang oder am Ende seinen Aufenthalt dort planen. Das Essen ist sehr gt und für jeden etwas dabei.
Im Hotel kann man Mietwagen buchen, ganz unproblematisch.
Alles in allem war es für uns (Familie mit 2 Kindern) ein perfekter Urlaub und wir würden wieder dorthin fahren.

Very beautiful view over the ocean, perfect if you have all inclusive and are looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Important to notice is that all other restaurants and bars are quite a walk, either up och down. We actually upgraded to all inclusive the second day, very worth it. Great food and big buffet with something for everyone!
The hotel area is big with several pools and have a lot of different things for the kids, there are almost spaces for adults-only.
Our room, superior double, was very nice and clean, especially enjoyed the beds that were so comfortable.
The staff was super nice and everyone met you with respect and a will to give you the best vacation.
Another great thing is the supermarket close to the hotel entrance, they have everything you might need. Two ATM:s at the hotel.
Be aware that it’s 700 stairs down to the harbor, in case you have trouble walking. But it’s cheap to take a taxi instead.
I truly recommend this hotel to people with kids, or people that like kids.

Prachtig hotel, geheel gerenoveerd met echt fantastisch goed eten in het restaurant. Genoeg bedden aan het zwembad, geen handdoekje leggen.
Kamers groot en heel verzorgd en netjes. Personeel heel vriendelijk, gemotiveerd en behulpzaam.
Samengevat; super kwaliteitsbeleving waar veel hotels nog iets van kunnen leren.
Enige minpunt is dat het hoog op een berg ligt en er geen faciliteiten op loopafstand zijn. Daarnaast zijn er met name veel jonge gezinnen met kleine kinderen waardoor het soms chaotisch/onrustig was in het restaurant.

Sehr sauberes, modernes, frisch renoviertes Hotel. Die Betten sind sehr bequem. Vielfältiges Angebot an Aktivitäten. 2 Poolbereiche ab 18. Sehr ruhig und ein riesengroßer Poolbereich mit rutschen für alle.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Das Hotel ist sowas von zu empfehlen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Different pool areas available (also adults only) with very nice view of the sea. Food was good for a buffet of that size, the entertainment in the evening was very good. Room was spacious and had Netflix. The beach is a little bit difficult to get to but was made clear beforehand. Quite a lot of families with children but can be avoided in the adults only pool area.
