Terrible. My husband ended up in hospital for 2 nights after eating in the A La Carte. He had prawns, the most likely cause of his acute, rapid onset violent symptoms of D and V with subsequent loss of conciouseness. They deny all and refuse any possible causitive link with his illness.

The room was fine and the best thing about the hotel. Big and clean with a good balcony including sea view. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food was Ok, nothing to write home about and meat occasionally sub-standard. Nice array of puddings. Public areas including lobby bar were boring with a very bland ambience. Really friendly staff in all areas, very clean, food was excellent (one vegetarian and one with a nut allergy) with pretty good allergen labels - we certainly never went hungry! Pools were a lovely temperature and very clean, room had everything we needed and a lovely view towards the beach. Location was perfect, not busy but everything we needed was close by. We never return to the same place twice but we may need to make an exception here...!

A wonderful experience in Gran Canaria with this outstanding hotel – Gloria Royal Palace Hotel & Spa. Receptions are very nice and helpful. Breakfast Buffet with many different choices of food and drinks. I highly recommend the OMELETTE which is prepared on-site by the chef. Yummy!! Guests staying in the hotel would prefer the outdoor pool. Therefore, the hydromassage station is not crowded. Convenient location, it takes only 6 mins drive to Mogan Mall. Excellent hotel, not to be missed.

The location is great, right on Playa Amadores. The room was quite spacious, however, there were tiny bugs in the room and another larger, unidentified bug. Staff was helpful but not overly friendly like other places I've stayed. The restaurants were acceptable and plenty of food at the buffet. The pools were sizeable and the infinity pool overlooking the ocean makes for great pictures. Parking wasnt great, tiny spots on a very steep ramp. I can imagine it being very challenging for folks with mobility issues. Overall, satisfied and a memorable stay.

Best choice of breakfast I’ve had in a hotel.
Lots of fresh fruit and juices.
Sunbathing by the infinity pool was lovely and the children’s pool was next to it. Bingo and other activities in the afternoon round the pool. There is another quieter area to sunbathe if you want complete peace.

Lovely views from everywhere. Attractive and clean environment .Good beach and sea bathing - all strikingly clean. A wealth of bars and restaurants behind beach, with some decent shops too.
Excellent hotel for couples with/without young children.A bit limited for older offspring.Some traffic noise from vehicles going to and from Puerto Mogan, but these are out of sight.

Staff, facilities and food were all excellent. The Hotel policy on removing towels from loungers at the pool before it opens is refreshing. Please continue this.
Only problem encountered was the Private car transfer from Hotel to Airport. 30 mins late with no communication, we had to phone to see if it was coming. Thankfully Jet 2 checkin is so good with lots of friendly staff so we made the flight. Edinburgh luggage reclaim was awful and took an hour after landing, but that is not Expedia's fault!

This was our seventh visit to this hotel and always feels like coming home. A relaxed holiday in wonderful surroundings. I had emailed requesting a certain room, which we had, so that was very much appreciated. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard. A recent renovation of the restaurant makes this a lovely place to eat and relax. Food is varied, do miss the morning coffee service but thats a personal view. Jordi, one of the managers is fantastic and attentive. It's lovely that he recognises us each year and will spend time with you.
It is a shame that despite this being our seventh visit, it was not recognised at reception when checking in. The receptionist asked us if we had ever been before and was surprised that we had! It wont stop us visiting next year, but would make the checking in experience more personal.
The amadores area is lovely, quiet at this time of year as expected but you can take a short walk to Puerto Rico for more bars and restaurants.
A lovely break for us and have already booked our eighth visit in June next year.

I spent 10 days with my wife in this hotel, very large, carved into the rock, beautiful. A hundred meters away from the beautiful public and equipped beach, (the hotel provides towels) easily reachable on foot. Large room with balcony and sea view, modern furnishings. Two swimming pools and in addition a wellness room with a hydromassage tub, sauna and very well-equipped gym available free of charge. Excellent breakfast, good dinner with truly kind and welcoming staff.

Love this hotel and our second stay, third time in a Gloria hotel. As it was our second stay, reception upgraded our room without us even asking. It suits our holiday needs well and much quieter than the first Gloria hotel we stayed in. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We stayed on half board, there is so much choice, dishes replenished quickly and very little queuing. We love the spa and use it daily. We never watch the entertainment, so can’t comment but the activities around the pool always look fun. The only thing that could do with updating for us is the TV, as they are not smart TVs but this doesn’t affect our stay and we are planning our return already.

A reasonable 4 star property. Showing its age in areas though
I personally found the food offer to be good. However cocktails were rubbish
Entertainment was rubbish. It's left to two people who are truly lovely but they get no support from the hotel.
Evening entertainment has a budget of €0 as it's someone singing to a laptop backing track so you'll be bored
The pools are nice though as are the rest of the hotel staff which is probably the saving grace

I booked this hotel because it had an exceptional rating. It was not wrong; everything was just superb. The staff are friendly and can’t help enough. The food in the buffet restaurant is fantastic - the best I have ever had at an all inclusive resort. My room was spacious and spotlessly clean. I cannot fault my stay at all. Book this hotel, you won’t be disappointed.

Nice hotel, pretty large and up on a hill so a bit of a steep walk down to the beach/shops.
Did take me a while to figure out that QR codes were on some of the tables which enabled you to look at menu/drinks menu - that would've been nice to have either been informed at reception or to have in a welcome in the room. There was no welcome pack nor any kind of digital info in the room. There was a TV outside the main restaurant which showed events that were happening each day - there was a QR code on the screen but I could not get it to work on my phone.
Room was nice and spacious with air con and a balcony view of the sea.
We were all inclusive and so ate at the main restaurant for majority of our meals. We also ate lunch a couple of times at the pool bar.
The pool was really nice, lot of loungers and there was a very enthusiastic staff member who was at the pool most days doing either some exercise classes/games in the pool or drinks making/tasting
The spa was nice with a sauna/steam room and pool with various jets
Breakfast was always very nice with a vast selection of hot/cold items, fruits, meats, cheeses, juices and fizz
Dinner was themed each night and was a good selection of food and desserts - shame you couldn't get any cocktails or spirits in the main restaurant as I do not drink wine or beer.
There wasn't any information available regarding the surrounding area - but we walked along the coast both ways and the walk was not far to reach the next town Peurto Rico

Great hotel. Lovely staff. Impressive property. Absolutely fabulous swimming pool. 1.55 meters deep, about 50 meters long and on the widest side about 15 meters wide. Also smaller pool for toddlers. Food is great. Airco in the room is the best we've ever experienced. Great location. You won't regret going here.

Interesting to watch British / American programmes in Spanish on TV.

This a superb hotel in a fabulous but small location. Feedback for Reception staff is that if an All Inclusive customer books the A la Carte restaurant they need to be told that it’s not included in the all inclusive. When I asked for the drinks to be taken off the bill with numerous reception staff I kept getting fobbed off to come back at different times. It never got sorted out for us and there was never any apology or acknowledgment that an error was made, which was disappointing.

This complex is very nice and comfortable. The staff are very friendly when meeting around the complex. Great location. Food selection is good though a little repetitive. Our room in block 1 was very spacious, clean and comfortable.
On the negative side there were a couple of issues that were not handled very well by management. Firstly, when we arrived we asked a member of staff if we could access the “guest lift” to reception on the 6th floor to check in. Instead she instructed us to carry and pull our heavy luggage up a very steep hill in the rain to reception. On arrival at reception and on complaint of this we were advised that the member of staff who gave this instruction should have operated the lift for us!! They did speak with this staff immediately and apologised but nothing further in the way of an apologetic drink waiting at the bar for us. Secondly, due to adverse weather conditions, we were woken in the night by a loud and very scary crash which shook the room. Due to very heavy rain rocks had crashed down from the cliff wall behind unto the surface right outside our door. Staff were immediately on hand to investigate and start the clear up but no one inquired as to our well being then or next day despite it being a very scary moment.
It appears staff are trained to smile and say good morning but management incapable of proper follow up procedure in cases like this. The above incidents happened within 48 hours of our arrival so dampened our stay.

Excellent holiday and stay at the Gloria Royal. Really clean, staff really friendly and happy to help no matter what the issue. The food was fantastic with lots of choice, buffet style to ensure they can cater to all tastes. The only minor negative was the rush this created around mealtimes, but it’s what to expect when serving so many guests. We ate out a few times with great restaurants nearby and in Puerto Rico. This is our second stay at this hotel and we will definitely come back again.

Gloria Palace Royal has views to die for; the sea, the way the infinity pool looks, the lovely beds up on 6th floor with funny pool. 5 min walk to beach. Was very good value for money too.

A great hotel and perfect location for a family break. Good sized room with a sea view. We chose the half board option and were really pleased with the food options. Access to the beach is good and no more than a 10 minute walk. Due to COVID the hotel was at 40% capacity, so no problems getting a subbed by the pool. Staffing numbers have been reduced due to COVID demand and this lead to the service being a little slow at times, but all the staff were friendly and helpful. All COVID rules are applied and we felt secure during our staff. Definitely a place to return to with family for late autumn sun.

We went to this hotel 11-18th January and for 4* hotel it was very high standard. We went all inclusive but had planned to eat out however the variety of food and drinks were so good we only went out one evening during the week. There was so many choices and food was always so fresh. We liked sunbathing at the infinity pool however we loved the other area on top floor with double beds and small bar/food area. We only had a couple of negatives but overall hotel excellent - We had to go and buy a travel iron as they don’t have an iron in room and you can’t borrow one - they do offer a laundry service which you pay per item of clothing- Also we had a late flight home 8pm on the 18th - we asked for a late check out but this was not possible - we had to check out at midday. We checked out but still had our all inclusive armbands on and went to pool bar area after 12 to get a drink and said all inclusive was not included and we had to pay for the drinks. They said with Expedia the small print on form signed on check in says all inclusive ends at 12 o’clock - They did give us a lunch voucher for the main restaurant but this should have explained this to us on checking out. It didn’t leave the last few hours of holiday at hotel as good as it could have been. All that was needed was explanation when checking in and out. Overall holiday excellent!

The hotel is placed in a beautiful location, very close to one of the best beaches of the island/Playa de Amadores. The facilities are very good, the food is diverse and more than enough, the swimming pools are very nice and the view is enjoyable.

Wow , what a fantastic place. On a mountain side with views over Amadores beach, the hotel had everything you could wish for.
The all inclusive buffet was actually really good and was different each night of the week. There was an A la carte restaurant available at an extra cost if you didn’t fancy the buffet food.
The gym was well equipped and there’s a hydro pool too.
The outside swimming pools were fabulous.
There is a spa and wellbeing centre where you can get massages, facials and beauty treatments and the prices seemed quite reasonable.
The reception staff were always extremely helpful and the hotel cleaners were always happy and do an excellent job.
The sandy beach at Playa Amadores was only a 5 minute walk which was a great place to be to watch the sunset.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I booked a pretty last-minute trip to just get away from London and enjoy some sun near a pool. I was very comfortable here. The infinity pool looks amazing. The service and staff was incredible - zero faults.

The only (minor) issue I had was the soundproofing of rooms. I awoke one night (when I forgot to put my earplugs in) due to noise from other rooms.

I didn't really explore the local area - I was there to escape with my Kindle in the sun with a drink!

We had 2 hours to kill between the check out and leaving for the airport so the front desk staff offered us free lunch and drinks in the buffet AND courtesy room for us to shower and change after being in the pool a little longer. Will be coming back!

Hotel service was amazing, all stuff members were super friendly. Room services also was outstanding, very clean and tidy. Food was great, everday they serve fresh food, we only had a breakfast included, but we regretted later, we should have taken all inclusive, believe me it’s worth it.
Beach was so so beautiful, everything about this area and hotel are just amazing . Highly recommend. thank you

hotel was very clean and spacious, rooms very large and had a balcony overlooking the bay with 2 sunbeds chairs and table.
staff and food brilliant, no fighting over sunbeds as always plenty, the pool was awesome and never overcrowded.
more than we normally pay for a hotel but very worth it as the other residents were all polite and friendly, no loud mouthed yobs or rude families, no drunken ravers.
staff couldn't do enough for you. should be a 5 star hotel.

What a holiday!

The hotel was clean, tidy and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. For instance 2 days into our stay we were given a questionnaire to complete and I stated that it would be nice to have recliners on the balcony as well as standard chairs, 3 hours later on returning to our room, there were recliners. The local area was lovely, lots of nightlife within walking distance and some a bit further out by taxi which cost no more than €5, local buses were also frequent and cheap, a 15 mile trip lasting 30 minutes only cost €1.55 for a single. The meals were all buffet style and had a variety of different things to cater for all appetites. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Good hotel close to beach, taxi rank and local shop. Reserving sun beds needs to be monitored and explained if luxury beds need to be booked etc.

Hotel was the most beautiful we’ve ever stayed in and I’m 44! Absolutely outstanding food we ate like kings and queens for a fortnight. Come back a stone heavier each it was Michelin Star quality every single meal. Already looking at dates to go back staff were outsnading couldn’t do enough for you and so very friendly and fun. Absolutely stunning views and close to beach down beow. Our double sea view room was absolutely beautiful with a huge balcony overlooking the infinity pool towards the beach. Spa was fantastic great to get a sauna etc after a day sunbathing without a doubt the best hotel we have ever found. Cannot talk about it enough. Has blown us away. Entertainment was absolutely fantastic 13 out of the 14 nights fantastic acts!

Glorious view from our balcony

We enjoyed our stay and everything about the hotel was just as we had expected. Whilst the hotel does have a policy of not being able to reserve sunbeds this policy is not policed and in our experience we often found that beds had towels left on them early in the morning and the towels were then left there all day while the owners were away. Surely a simple check on the beds at various times during the day and the removal of towels when guests had left would help this situation

Went there as it was convenient for my triathlon race at Amadores Beach. Never been to Gran Canaria before. Hotel and staff were fantastic. The food was excellent. We stayed on half board basis which I would highly recommend

Cycling Vacation

Perfect weather for cycling. If you want a swimming vacation go to the usvi. They have a great outdoor and indoor pool. Outdoor is 25 degrees C and indoor 35 C. Wonderful steam room and sauna. Great time.

Nice hotel , traffic noise on balcony.

Lovely hotel, not sure its worth the price tag. Very big hotel with nice pool, could improve the evening entertainment. Maybe a nicer bar area, nice quiet area
