Horrible location like benidorm.

Great views.

Dont be conned by superior rooms at twice the price they are all basic just expensive ones higher up hill.

Would never stay again, terrible location, noisy hotels opposite. Package holiday hell.

Great Hotel For The Price

Overall, value for your stay is great.
It is a 3star hotel and thats where it is.
Food was fine, snacks were great for the kids. All inclusive drinks are also good. Service is impeccable.
Only con i had was the rooms could be cleaner and more updated, but wasnt the biggest problem as the pros outweighed this small issue.

We had a nice stay, we went in January so there were a lot of retired guests around. For the price it was worth it (compared to the neighbouring hotels which were more expensive) but our room waa directly under the dining room so there was always noise when they moved the chairs around. Other than that the service was very friendly and there is a spar conveniently located in the hotel.

We only wanted a little 5 night break, we normally do book all inclusive but decided self catering as only there for a short time, we arrived midday and our room was ready and what a suprise we had, over looking the pool, lovely big balcony with sunbeds to relax on if not wanting to go to the pool, the apartment itself was lovely and bright, 1 bedroom and bathroom and a sofa bed ( that was the only let down) it was rock solid unfortunately, this could easily be fixed with a topper that they use on the beds to make it more comfortable. The grounds of the hotel was lovely, entertainment was plenty, bingo and happy hour at the same time was a must!! We can’t comment on the food as we was self catering, we ate in the europa centre and down at the commercial centre where you do need a taxi, we chose to walk one night but the pavements were very sloppy so you really need to be careful, we found the walk down to Amadores beach was easier and was able to walk in the road, got to the bottom and then did the costal walk which was a lovely 60 mins sounds a lot but it was a lovely walk…We didn’t want our short break to end, but for what we paid we was really pleased with this hotel! We would recommend and ourselves are already wanting to come back! Hopefully soon! Thanks Altamar for a fantastic 5 nights! Wished it was longer!!! See you again!!

First time at that area of Gran Canaria and very pleased we stayed at this hotel. All rooms appear to have the same excellent view and generous veranda with loungers, chairs and table. Rooms were lovely with living space and bedroom both with sliding doors onto the veranda and the room was well-equipped for any occasions of self-catering needs. Both areas with ceiling fans and windows for cooling off. With a shop on site, this made everything very easy.
Hotel facilities were very enjoyable and we made use of the two pools, restaurant and entertainment. The site is high above the option of two beach areas that are both easily accessible via foot if you for the fitter and by regular free bus service should you require this. Ample taxis for direct and instant transport too.
Altogether a very enjoyable stay and would definitely go back with confidence.

Great hotel, they care about cleanliness, the service is nice and helpful. Rooms cleaned daily, beach closest to Playa Amadores 15 minutes on foot, taxi cost 2.5 - 3 euro. The view from the hotel is captivating, each has a balcony overlooking the sea and deckchairs on the balcony, for me it is a big plus. There is a hairdresser, nail styling and massage services on site. We will remember our stay at this hotel. Delicious food.

Great hotel, stayed many a time. Would had thought with Covid the cleaning would had been slightly better - in our week stay our apartment wasn’t mopped once, lift handles and doors marked should really be cleaned several times during the day. Didn’t see much cleaning of the communal areas tbh either.

We were a family of 3 and were provided with only 2 single duvets/ blankets, despite of requesting multiple times at the hotel reception.

The rooms are not cleaned daily.
The balcony was not even cleaned even once for our stay of 1 week.

The lift is terrible and not maintained well. Sometimes it just decides by itself to go in reverse direction. If we have to got to 8th floor from 1st floor... The lift will go from 1st floor to 6th floor and then again to 1st floor and then to 8th floor.... and it is very slow. So factor in atleast 10-15 mins extra every day.

The hotel tells you about the free parking... but it is never available. We had to park our car away everyday, at least 15 -20 mins walk from hotel.

Beach is far away as well. takes atleast 20-30 mins, with kids walk from top of hill to down and walking back, depends on how much energy is left in you. Factor in the cost of taxi for your commute.

Super holiday.

What a view! An amazing scene from our apartment. Very clean and comfortable. As we were on floor1 it was a long way to level 6 and often the lift was full and sometimes not working, it is not a place for anyone with walking problems. All facilities good so overall we had a wonderful holiday at the Altamar.

Love this property. Spectacular views, exceptionally clean apartments, friendly staff (loved Hernandez) and a fabulous entertainment crew (Gazza, Pressana, etc). Highly recommend!

Love this hotel , going again on 28th December for 3 weeks. Love the large balcony and it's very quiet at night. Went to a club room this time and it was worth the little extra. Definitely recommend the Altamar.

Du the high hill that the hotel is located is well recomended if you have a rented car or using the taxi unless you enjoy a good hiking trip. If you planning to spend the day in your room it might be affected due the missing of AC but during the night is ok.
Breakfast was great, plenty choises and seats. Dinner I haven't got it but as per the impression of different customers was kind of boring- same selections.
During the morning due the several contracters working in the next bilding fonding a parking lot was a challendge
Every night the entreteiment washood.
The cleaniliness of the rooms and the public spaces was great.

Good base for the south of the island

Need to be reasonable fit as Hotel is at a top of a hill. If making your own way to the hotel by car it is not very easy to find my sat nav would not find the road or hotel. Spend a lot of time waiting for the lift 400 plus rooms and only 2 lifts but there always a sea view to look at. A welcome pack would be good if self catering even if there was a charge.

Good location and decent on-site facilities

The Altamar is conveniently located close to Amadores beach and the Europa Centre, with its array of bars, shops and restaurants.

The on-site Spar is handy and there is free internet access in the lobby area during the day. Personally, I think it is silly not to extend this service to the bar and restaurant area, as people would be inclined to spend while surfing the net etc.

Had one meal in the restaurant and we weren't impressed so dined out for the rest of our stay.

There was poolside entertainment for the little ones and something on each night.

Staff around the hotel were friendly, which is always a bonus.

Adequate place to stay

It was a decent stay but nothing to get excited about. The location at the top of the hill gives you some great views. The kitchen is adequate for cooking. The free wifi in the lobby is borderline useless. You essentially have dialup speeds if it even works at all. Our water went out once with no explanation. Overall, it was fine for the low price we paid.

The hotel is situated at the top of a very steep slope, in front of the ocean, so all the rooms have sea view,but to reach the beach you need to have a car,or you prepare yourself to a very long walk of about 15 minutes.The problem will be when you need to go back up to the hotel! But if you enjoy walking is nice the view!the room was good, quiet big double bedroom apartment, with patio ocean front. There are 2 swimming pool very quiet, that for whom cannot or don't want to reach Amadores beach are a very good alternative. The restaurant is buffet style, but very much orientated on English
taste. I didn't find it particularly good, apart from a couple of dinner.Definitely English guest are the majority (good 90%) and even the evening entertainment is orientated towards this type of guests. The reception staff and the floor staff have been very nice. Definitely suggested!

Wir haben unseren Urlaub in diesem Hotel mit unseren beiden Kindern (8 und 10 Jahre alt) verbracht und waren rundum begeistert. Auf dem Hotelgelände gibt es zwei wunderschöne Pools – einer davon ist perfekt für Kinder geeignet und verfügt sogar über einen kleinen Bereich für Kleinkinder. Es gibt ausreichend Liegen, und selbst wenn diese belegt sind, werden im Laufe des Tages immer wieder Plätze frei.

Das Hotel liegt am Hang, und aus allen Zimmern hat man einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den Ozean – für mich persönlich ein unschätzbarer Pluspunkt. Zum Strand sind wir mit dem Taxi gefahren (nur ca. 5 Minuten, Kosten 4–6 €). Zu Fuß wäre es zwar möglich, aber mit Kindern recht anstrengend – hier entscheidet natürlich jeder selbst.

Ein besonderes Lob verdient das Restaurant: Der Küchenchef kocht einfach fantastisch! Täglich gibt es eine große Auswahl an Fleisch, Meeresfrüchten und vielen anderen Köstlichkeiten. Tagsüber werden zudem Snacks angeboten, sodass man wirklich keine Minute hungrig bleibt. Auch die Getränke und Cocktails waren sehr lecker. Das Personal war stets freundlich und zuvorkommend.

In allen Zimmern gibt es Klimaanlagen, was sehr angenehm ist. Außerdem steht eine Küche zur Verfügung, die wir aufgrund der All-inclusive-Verpflegung nicht genutzt haben. Es gibt Panoramaufzüge mit schönem Ausblick – wir hatten damit keinerlei Probleme.

Vielleicht gab es auch ein paar kleine Minuspunkte, aber darüber möchte ich gar nicht schreiben, denn insgesamt war mein Eindruck 1

le plus la grande terrasse, de l'appartement, avec une superbe vue sur la mer, assez bien ensoleillée jusqu'à 19h environ (en mai), le fait qu'il y ait 2 piscines, dont une, plus réservée pour les familles avec enfants
Le moins c'est le bruit raisonnable, dû aux travaux de l'hotel en face qui est en rénovation, mais surtout le parking clientèle, gros point noir !

Højt helligende på toppen af Puerto Rico med flot udsigt. Fint børnevenligt hotel med gode faciliteter. Mange trapper, så der var run på de 2 elevatorer, det kunne give en del udfordringer. Et kæmpe plus med gratis bus til stranden og ned til centrum i Puerto Rico.

Hotellet erbjuder blandat upplevelser. Fantastisk personal .Frukostutbudet dåligt. Maten oftast inte varm, långa köer för att få en omelett. Vattnet i baren smakade inte bra. Det saknas bekväma platser att sitta på då man inte äter. Resväskorna fick bäras nerför branta trappor. Oftast lång väntetid för att komma med linbanehissen.
