Room was clean, comfy bed but pillows were quite small.
Staff were very pleasant and gave lots of advice about our time in Bruges.
There was an issue with hot water before we checked out which unfortunately prevented a morning shower, which was a shame, but nothing the hotel could do.
Amenities were fantastic, and the hotel was really nicely located.

Lovely room but arrived in 35 degree heat and the air conditioning wasn’t working. Asked 3 times for them to sort but returned after our evening out with it still not working so gave up.
Breakfast was sensational! Mimosas and a wonderful selection of food. Location was fantastic and a small walk to all the beautiful tourist spots. Free parking a short walk away. All in all a great hotel

We really liked the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room was air conditioned during a very hot spell. The pool was a bit small and the water seemed overly green but this was more than made up by the staff who were friendly and helpful. An enjoyable stay.

Great stay clean and friendly staff
Mandy
Lovely hotel. Very welcoming, the decor was individual not corporate. Superb breakfast. Very clean. Small swimming pool, just enough to relax in after a days sight seeing. It’s a 10 min walk into town. If you are wondering wether or not to book just do it, you won’t be disappointed
Christie
The hotel did not meet the 4-star rating. There was a strong mildew smell, outdated appliances, and overall not what we were expecting.
Shelley
The staff were very friendly and the hotel was wonderful. The breakfast offered I would highly recommend! Well worth the $$!
We had a great quiet comfortable night sleep and would definitely come back again!

We did not utilize the breakfast service as it was costly (20 euros per person). You were not allowed to take anything out of the dining room.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The room was very clean, bed was comfortable.
Elevator to second floor had a sewer gas smell. The hallways, furniture in the lobby and carpets are very tired (worn) and could use some updating.

Friendly staff from check in to check out. Hotel is within walking distance to the main hub of Bruges. Room was clean and tidy with a box of Belgian chocolates on the bed was a nice touch.
Kimberley
The breakfast was wonderful and worth paying for. Great way to start your day. ☺️

I found the property not to be suitable for a senior .
The shower is in the tub and the faucet is in the middle of the tub so it's awkward.
The sink has the shelf so low that you can knock your head into it.
There was stairs to get to my room but no hand rail.
But on the positive the staff was excellent , helpful and pleasant.
We liked the complementary chocolates and cookies. It was very thoughtful.

Excellent place to stay in Bruges. From check-in to check-out we had nothing but positive experiences.
The family rooms were great and the breakfast was pretty decent.

Staff are very friendly and the rooms are comfy. Location is not bad at all. The breakfast was great.

Great location - short walk into the centre. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely stay again.
Would definitely stay again.

The staff were totally terrific and lovely, sadly the hotel is over hyped. It is clearly not a four star hotel and so we were disappointed. It is on a busy main road (not pretty), parking is limited and the reality is one must walk to a huge parking lot up the street. This is fine but it is a little more hassle. The swimming pool has seen better days and looks better in the photo. It feels like a premier inn which is ok, but the internet descriptions really make this hotel to be better than it is. If you want a mid range standard hotel with no frills then go ahead, but if you are thinking 4 star luxury this is not the place for you. That said, the staff were so helpful and kind that it took the edge off the disappointment !

Great stay here. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and eager to help. Location is good to walk to downtown and sites. Only negative is parking. We chose this hotel as it said self parking available but spots are very limited and needs to use a park case that appears close but in reality was not easy to get to if parked in back hotel parking lot to unload luggage. Make sure to get clear directions from
Front desk on how to get to parkcade as lots of one ways if you miss turnoff. Good news is walk back to hotel has some bar options like Bernie’s Beer Bar so turned out to not be too bad.

I very much enjoyed my stay. I would rate 4.5 I could. I ly liked the interior design of the lobby and room. It was cozy and had character. Most important thing to me was there were no bugs! My room had a little shared terrace that was an added bonus. Very happy with the mini fridge in the room. Prices are similar to a convience store so saves you the walk. I was very happy to have a cold drink ready after checking in from a long flight+train. There was water, pop, wine and beer.
Unfortunately the only down side to the room was a bit of mold in the bathroom ceiling. The building seems to have a humidity issue overall. There was construction and damage in the lobby that they were fixing which also seemed to be a water issue of sorts. So there was a humid smell in the hallways and elevator.
The hotel is located just a little outside of the main tourist area. Only a 5-15 min walk depending what you're looking for. Also found it a comfortable walk with suitcase from the train station. It maybe took 20 minutes and the sidewalks where in good condition.
The staff was super friendly. They have some suggestions ready to go with a print out and map. I was able to check in early that day at no extra cost. Also was able to leave my bag for a few hours after check out at no extra cost.
Pool has a nice seating area around. Pool was pleasant, just a little small and many guests were making use of it.

Very good breakfast, comfortable beds and modern bathroom. Very friendly staff. Would be coming back to this hotel when we’re back in Bruges.

good location

Great hotel, the foyer is lovely and the staff were amazing. The only issue we had was that the shower floor was very slippery. We both slipped and were being very careful.

When you arrive tired from a long drive and you have to change three rooms before you go to sleep, that is not a good hotel. Ants in the first room (which was very small, too), bed lamps not working and heating from the electric radiator iffy in the second room. The worst part is that the woman at the reception desk kept saying the whole hotel was full, only to suddenly find an empty room after my insisting. The nice swimming pool is perhaps the only reason to stay here.
Grand hotel? Not even remotely so.

The gym was nicely outfitted with free weights, elliptical and rowing. The pool looked inviting. Breakfast had a hot offering of hash browns, eggs, beans and bacon. The cold offering was bread, cheese, yogurt, cold cuts and cold cereal. Coffee machine for espresso etc. They even had champagne for mimosas

Lovely hotel. Enjoyed being in the annexed room. Could benefit from more pillows and a little more storage/space for a suitcase/clothes.
Emma
Lovely hotel, great location. We had a fabulous, spacious, family room. The breakfast is fantastic, the pool is lovely and the staff are friendly & helpful.
Our sink was leaking from what looked like a previous repair. The window blind wouldn’t close all the way & there was an odd damp smell in the corridors. There are reasons I gave a lower grade but I would stay again if we returned to Bruges.

Good standard hotel with friendly staff and most things as expected. However the corridor smelt of sewage. That took the edge off our enjoyment
Chris
Rooms were immaculate, the staff are great. Hôtel was exactly what we wanted. Just outside the centre so it was nice and quiet.
Natalya
Love this place, breakfas was, better than expected, stuff is,so gentle and nuce, very close location for everything
Kenneth
Breakfast was good. Hard to control temperature in room. Front desk controls air conditioner. Great location
Malcolm
We have never stayed in a more comfortable, homely place.
Judith
We had a fantastic stay. The staff was super helpful, the room was clean and cozy, the fireplace at night was warm and inviting, and the pool was very nice. We be very happy to stay here again.
Mara
Beautiful hotel with an amazing friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and breakfast is very good. Would recommend
Laura
We had a lovely stay. The family room was great and we all enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was more continental than cooked, but many many continental options. The beds were very comfortable. A little tatty around the edges in the room, but I'm not complaining - it was clean, comfortable, had dressing gowns and slippers and a minibar in the room which was reasonably priced too. Very close to 't Zand where we parked overnight, and very reasonably priced later check out times too. Would stay again!
Christine
Very friendly staff. Pink armchairs at reception could do with a clean. Other than that room aw clean a bit small we had the Classic. We were offered bath or shower. We opted for shower maybe it was a mistake as it was quite small. Lovely breakfast. And swimming pool was a nice addition to our stay. Would go back or recommend.
Sheila
We had the best stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will return
Oliver Mark

Really helpful staff. Even gave us a welcome gift & local info. Lovely looking room but when i separated the beds the floor was filthy. Staff resolved immediately. Room was a bit dirty in other areas tho. Pool was lovely. Downside was temperature of the room. We went in winter allocated room 50 at the end. It was very cold. Staff gave us a heater & extra duvet but still had to sleep in our jumpers.
Ben
Great swimming pool, amazing breakfast, perfect staff!
Paul
Quality and choice at breakfast was excellent. Decor throughout hotel was tasteful and in keeping with its location. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Little presents on arrival to room and upon checking out were a special treat.
Jade
Nice breakfast and lovely pool. The room was pleasant.
The downstairs bathroom in the hotel had a really bad smell coming from it.

Stephen
Staff was so freindly and helpful!
David
Really nice welcoming hotel close to the centre but nice and quiet
Jan
Nice hotel only a few minutes walk from the city centre. The hotel parking was full, but the underground parking for the city centre was close, safe and cheap. The staff was very helpful and were able to recommend and reserve a nice place for us for dinner. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection, and good quality food for the price.
Nigel
Excellent stay. Very pleasant staff etc
Anna
Fantastic hotel
Amazing stay here at this fantastic hotel. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the hotel is beautifully decorated. Lovely swimming pool and great facilities. We will definitely be returning here if we visit Bruge again
Barry
A lovely room and hotel with excellent facilities.
George
Convenient Hotel
Very good location, 10 minutes walk from the main square. Huge 24/7 car park close by. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and a nice pool too. Only negative is the price of breakfast where it is cheaper to eat out, in an expensive city. Would recommend.
Donna
What a fabulous hotel! We loved it! Excellent friendly and knowledgeable staff who were ever-present but not intrusive. Really made us feel welcome. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and very high quality. Lovely pool. Great bar. Hotel was spotlessly clean but retained character. Our family room was gorgeous!! We will definitely be back as soon as we can!!
Mr Y PATEL
Nice and friendly
Nice hotel with good facilities and friendly staff.
Mike
The hotel is decent and as expected. The pool was better than I expected. They put us in a very cold room and it was situated near the parking lot so I would have liked a better location of the room. Room was smaller than expected. Not sure if other rooms are bigger but I felt short changed on the actual room. The location of the hotel is outside of the main tourist area but that’s not a negative. Bruges is very small and walkable. Staff was courteous and professional.
Rachel
Hotel needed some tlc, slightly tired and shabby looking
Arghya
It was an excellent experience, would have loved to have restaurant faculty at the hotel !
Richard
Loved the swimming pool.
Paula
Lovely stay
Had a relaxing one night stay in a triple room. Staff welcoming, comfortable room and beds, pool. Delicious breakfast. We parked in the underground car park close by

Grand Hotel Normandy is located on a large street in Brugge, fairly close to the Brugge Convention Center (BMCC). It is an old hotel with dated rooms and facilities. The room smells old as soon as you enter. Ours had a pillar in the middle of the room and an old squeaky cupboard that barely held together. The small safety cabinet located inside it could not accommodate a laptop and was not fastened in place.
The room was clean with a very large bed and an excellent mattress. I prefer a hard mattress while my wife a softer one; this mattress somehow worked for both of us! The room came with a modern spacious bathroom. Oddly, the small sink was placed right under a large shelf; you either hit your head or you did not use the sink. Room service was spotty.
The reception staff was absolutely amazing, all smiles and very helpful.
The breakfast was very good, with a wide selection of items that should satisfy any taste and need.
The pool was very nice and clean.
Overall, this hotel was not worth the money.

The hotel was one of the best I've stayed at! It was a 5-10 minute walk from all of the restaurants and attractions. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side but it had all of the amenties we needed. I would definitely recommend the Grand Normandy Hotel.

We visited early March, and although the room was spacious and clean, it was very cold. We realized that the heating cannot be adjusted from the room. After going to reception, they confirmed that they will turn the heating on. Even after that, our family of 4 were freezing all night. We noticed the heating was on, but after a while after it was turned off. For the price we paid, it was unpleasant to sleep in a freezing room. The breakfast was good.
Janice
Great stay - friendly and helpful staff, lovely large bedrooms, delicious hotel breakfasts, swimming pool - not too far from the centre of Bruges and near Zan Square with lots of restaurants. Definitely recommend for a stay in Bruges.
Anjana
Had a wonderful stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly and made our stay very special.
Sally
Great stay for Bruges. Breakfast was good and room was comfortable. It was a longer walk to the city center, but doable.
Turker
Everything was excellent. When paying with a credit card, make sure you select “euro” or else you get charged 4% commission. Hotel will not tell you that.
Kelly
Beautiful rooms and comfortable beds! The staff was so kind and helpful!
Sian
Our room was quite small but everything was clean and all the staff were helpful and lovely.
Christina
This property is a little outside the town center but it’s worth the stay. The staff was friendly and the property was so clean and pretty. The beds were perfect and the town center was walkable. Highly recommend this property.
COLLEEN
Really enjoyed the hotel - lovely breakfast buffet. Hotel bar was very nice. Rooms were lovely and the beds very comfortable. Easy walking distance to center of Bruges.
Steven John
We arrived quite late in the evening, but the staff couldn’t have been more polite and understanding. Excellent food and a perfect location to travel around Bruges.
Jessica
Huge comfortable room. Loved the roof terrace.
Not a great deal of food selection for dairy free, was quite difficult at breakfast.

The bathroom have no door, which for a couple's room can be an issue.

Great hotel with excellent staff. Beautiful breakfast.
Margaret
Unique building layout, nice area around the pool

Great hotel
Nice hotel… room could do with some mire storage for clothes. However the staff were excellent and the breakfast was great

Service and facilities can't be faulted. It was excellent and made my stay enjoyable.
Besides the excellent service, it is affordable and well situated, being 10 minutes or so walk from most of the important sights and restaurants. The rail station is also a 15-20min walk away, while a bus stop/interchange is 5 minutes walk away.
One downside noted was the strong smell of old sewerage pipes in a section of the corridor immediately after the reception desk. I appreciate that this often can be a problem in old buildings, but until this is fixed, I would recommend the hotel place some candles in the area, which should burn-off/mask the smell.
Would I recommend the hotel, yes!

Hotel was very nice and clean.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Family room was perfect enough space for everyone.
Pool was decent and food for breakfast was very good.

Family trip
Very good highly recommended

Lovely, comfortable room - bathroom was very tiny though. Esa at check-in was extremely helpful, polite and friendly. So were all the other staff. Very good breakfast (loved the white cloth and matching cutlery). Location is very good - right next to the main square and yet away from all the rush. Overall, very good but also a bit pricey.

Cant wait to go back
Amazing stay and we loved it here.
Beds are comfy but may bring our own pillows next time.
Staff are all very welcoming and polite.
We shall return..

Fantastic hotel in a great location
The hotel was beautiful situated in a great location in walking distance from Bruges market. On arrival the staff were extremely friendly and this continued throughout our stay. The room was small but ideal for a 2 night stay in the city. The room and bathroom was clean and we were provided with coffee facilities and toiletries. The hotel was in a great location abouts 15 minutes from both the markets and station. The hotel bar was very cosy and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend!

Beautiful hotel <3
Beautiful hotel in great location! Absolutely love the style of this hotel. The only downside was that the big breakfast was very animal product based. Please consider more environmental and animal friendly options. Thank you for having us!

Just arrived home from a weekend away in Bruges. This hotel was in a great location being only a short walk away from the Center of Bruges, perfect for those wishing to visit the Christmas markets at this time of the year. Although the hotel car park was full there was a large safe and secure car park only 100 meters away for a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and the lobby was warm and welcoming although the public toilets smelt awful. The hotel overall had quite a dated decor but I think this added to the charm or staying in Bruges. The breakfast was great with lots of choices to suit anyone’s taste, and I particularly liked the decor in there too. The rooms were clean and beds were comfy, however the pillows were rather lumpy. The pool was a great addition for those who like a dip, however could have been cleaner. Overall we had a great weekend but could do without the smell of toilets down the corridors and in the elevators.
P
Our bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly on arrival. The window did not close or lock. It was reported to reception and we were told \"Thanks, we will do a deep clean of your room today\", and the room never got cleaned. The hotel smelt horrible in our corridor, and the overpowering smell of chemicals from the pool was disgusting. The welcoming staff were lovely, and the breakfast staff very attentive and helpful, but sadly the quality of the hotel lets them down. A very noisey hotel also, where you could hear people above and outside the rooms, the lift at night, and the washing machines going all night from the laundry.

The staff are amazing

Superb
Very comfortable stay in a quality hotel next to the historic center

Good .. but wont go back
Got there and there was no parking even though it was stated as designated .. you have to reserve and then its 25 euros a night ... so we used a car park. This wasnt the hotels fault but rather the agents.
Next morning our toilet started bubbling and burping which bought small amounts of feaces back up and it also smelt. Went to reception and asked for cleaning materials to use before we used it because of spatter as i knew they couldnt rip the whole sewage system up to rememdy the problem... hotel was also full.
They were helpful enough but offered nothing by way of myself becoming a cleaner for 3 days ... even a bottle of plonk on leaving would have been a gesture... but there was no apology that i had to do that etc. Which is why i wont use this hotel again.
But its a good location and the breakfast was amazing. Staff were generaly polite and freindly.
It was just the loo issue ... which was actually a pretty serious one.. of which i have videos ... but was handled wrong. If this hadnt happened this hotel would be my go to for brugge

Check out was at 11 but none of the materials given said that and there was no phone in the room, so i could not call to ask. Im from the US and waking up even at 1100 is early for me. A clerk was upset when i checked out at 1200 and threatened to charge extra but a nice clerk intervened. Also the room was too hot even with the heating off.

We had a lovely long, family weekend in Bruges, staying at Grand Hotel Normandy. The hotel was excellent, the family room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed using the swimming pool and the gym. Our children loved playing chess and connect 4 in the really nice, reception bar.
