My say was a last minute one after a transport hiccup, and because of this I was just looking for any available room that wouldn’t break the bank.
I ended up here, in the extra small room (the only room available). Yes, it’s small - the bathroom door can’t open fully because it hits the bed - but it was absolutely fine for a short stay.
The property is older but comfortable. The woman at the front desk could not be sweeter, and my room overlooked the lovely courtyard, which was all decked out for Christmas.
My only negatives were that I had to keep my curtains tightly drawn because of the courtyard. And the bed is on the way out - the right side of the mattress dips considerably and has lost its firmness. But it was not a deal breaker and I would happily stay here again.

Nice old place, our room was at the top floor and the place didn’t have an elevator, that’s why I don’t give it 5 stars. Room was nice, clean and big for a triple. Hotel is located close to all attractions and restaurants. We were wandering until very late at night and felt super safe all the time. Didn’t try the breakfast, only the coffee and drank it in a nice terrace the hotel has in the back.

I cannot review this hotel as it was closed. After walking from the station, I found a note on the door saying that I had been moved to one of two sister hotels but I had no idea which one as I had received no notification from the hotel nor from Expedia. So, I walked to the closer one, it was not it, they offered me a room but the location wasn't pleasing so I walked to the other - an hour walking in total.

We were surprised by the (car) traffic difficulties in reaching the hotel - and by the fact, that parking was actually available just a few minutes walk away. Maybe the parking solution should be more clearly highlighted in the description of the hotel so that clients can make an informed choice about whether to drive by the hotel to deposit luggage or to simply park and carry the luggage the few hundred meters to the hotel.

Travelling with friends on a bike trip, staff allowed us to use the lockup next to the lobby for our bikes. The rooms were comfortable and nicely sized. Things were very clean and the staff was extremely pleasant.
The breakfast is expensive, but has a large variety in a fairly small space. Also, you must book ahead.
The area is great and there is plenty within a few minutes of walking. I'd happily return.

The property was an historic building very close to the centre of Bruges. It was a 12-15 min walk from the central station and a much shorter walk into the main squares of Bruges. The rooms were spacious and well appointed and very comfortable. Easy check in and out and the host was amenable and efficient. I would happily return the hotel.

The hotel is situated in the heart of Bruges but just off of the main tourist area. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms were warm bright and clean. The bed was comfortable and we had the best sleep. Free tea and coffee is available all day. There is no bar but there are many bars close by. The hotel building was built in 1622 and reflects its historic nature We loved our stay and will book again.

The biggest problem is the bathroom heating when the. Temperature was 40 degrees inside. Can u imagine a bathroom without any curtains? I had to skip shower. I am going to request refund from Expedia. I traveled around the world but never had such a bad experience with a hotel.

It’s in walking distance to most famous spots in Brugge and when the wether is fine, open your windows in the early mornings, quiet and cool experience awaits. Helpful staffs and working amenities. However, there is no elevator so if you have a heavy luggage, consider living on the lower floors.

I had a great time here in Brugge. The hotel is beautiful. Old with charm yet Chan and well taken care of. It's more of a large bed and breakfast than a hotel. It feels like you are staying in a large house between the two biggest cathedrials in town. You are close to everything. I like that i had drinks in my room and the prices weren't bad at all. Maybe a €1 more than a store. The bed was really comfortable. The room was small, but it's Europe, i expect that. The bathroom was large and well set up. Good water pressure and heat. I had a ground floor room and never heard the other guests. There is a nice patio and the host give great information on bars and restaurants. Even in this quiet town they pointed out some amazing Kate night pubs with more beer than one could drink in a lifetime.

Attractive hotel, in the heart of the old city. Fairly large and well-furnished room, good value for money. Most of the staff very friendly and helpful. There for two nights, and it was an ideal base for sightseeing.

Nice room in a historic building full of character. Location is perfect for all parts of the town. Staff were friendly and the free coffee machine was good. We were at the top of the building which involved around 60 steps, but it was fine for us and we enjoyed the view.. The only negative was the very poor soundproofing between rooms. We could clearly hear the person in the next room snoring and speaking, moving around etc, so it was not easy to sleep.

The Hotel Gheestelic Hof is a beautiful hotel, in the steps from the historic center of Brugge. When we first walked in, we loved the homey feel of the place, and how it felt authentic. The staff was incredibly helpful and sweet. Our room was lovely too, and a it more modern feeling than the rest of the hotel. We were on floor 1, facing the street, so it was a little noisy. You can hear every conversation of everyone walking by on the street below. The room was clean and nice, however the bed was terrible. It sunk deeply into the middle so both my wife and myself kept rolling onto each other in our sleep. If we were staying longer than one night I would have said something.

The check-in process was disappointing because it was confusing. The woman who checked us in did not inform us that we would need to climb three flights of stairs or ask to assist us with our bags. She rushed up the stairs without letting us know where we were going and did not wait for us to follow. Our bathroom did not have a full shower, just a tub with a handheld showerhead. As we were on the top floor, the roof was slanted, so no one over 5'2\" could fit in the space where the glass would keep the water from getting all over the bathroom. However, the other woman we interacted with was very helpful. One person in our party was sick during our stay, and she helped us get to a hospital. She assisted in bringing our bags downstairs at check out, and she called us a taxi. She even provided her personal cell phone number in case we needed to get our bags after hours when we were finished at the hospital. So all-in-all the experience depended on who was at the front desk.

Hotel is great mix of modern and medieval; spacious and comfortable accommodations with good location; keepin’ it weird with pop star themed rooms. But the best amenity was the kind, attentive and gracious couple who received and helped us during our stay...such a relief and joy to find innkeepers who seem to enjoy their business. Would return, and recommend.

This hotel is located between the city center and the train station, great location. The small town is Beautiful and hotel was more of a B&B style. Our room had a view of the pretty garden patio, with a full dining table, chairs and tent. The only complaint is that one night a group of guest decided to sit in the garden late into the night and talked loudly. Free Wifi is only good in the garden, not so good in our room. The housekeeping kept our room super clean and fully stocked, she even let us check out early when the front desk wasn't there.

Great location one block away from the main shopping street. Rooms were clean and hotel offered complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day. I would absolutely stay here again. Definitely recommend staying a night in Bruges so you can walk the city when it is so crowded. A day trip from Brussels or Gent is doable, but you'll miss some of the charm of Bruges when the streets are packed with other day- trippers, especially on weekends. If you are looking for a good inexpensive meal, head over to Bocca for take out pasta and have a picnic on the steps of Sint-Salvatorskathedraal or in one of the nearby parks. Good craft coffee can be found at Li o Lait.

It was one of the smallest room we have ever stayed in. We went to the hotel much before the check in time and dropped our luggage. Once we came back to officially check in we were told that the only room available is near the garden!!! The location is awesome but the room was really really small.

Wonderful, historic family hotel
Several prior reviewers wanted more modernity. For modernity go to Brugge Crowne Plaza or Ibis. This is a charming, historic family run hotel full of history but with modern conveniences. Think Miss Marple. We used a superior double for 4 days. It was spacious (for the low countries), very clean, great bed, useful minibar. Excellent breakfast in charming breakfast room. Rates vary widely online but booking way in advance, as we did on H.com , made for very reasonable pricing with brekkie included. We would return.

It is very good location in town centre. Unfortunately not realised so many stairs was there. I would not choose it as heavily pregnant with lot of luggage was not a blessing.there was no help to take your luggage up either. Shame about the car park had to pay out another €9.00 in a car park nearby as they did not have any. Breakfast was basic but okay. Would not pay €14.00 though what they normally charge it was included in booking not realised. It was expensive as all Belgium what we found. Nice stay but would stay elsewhere next time. Lovely city worth a visit!

Gorgeous old hotel
The staff were lovely when we arrived and gave us a map on the town. She even showed us where all the landmarks were which was a massive help. Our room was right at the back up some small steep stairs (not practical for elderly or children) but we didn’t mind. The garden was small but very cute and well equipped with blankets for the evening. We had the Whitney Houston room with a king sized bed and a lovely big bathroom. The room also had a fridge with some drinks which you will need to pay for. The staff allowed us to keep our luggage in the hotel on the last day free of charge. We could also have tea, coffee, or hot chocolate for free whenever we liked from the dining room. The room was very clean. Definitely recommend.

Great location Easy to walk to from station. Very close to main square and canals but in a quiet area. I booked the superior room which was very large .Lots of windows ,even in the bathroom. Beds very comfy. Breakfast basic continental .All food fresh and tasty. Very good value for money

Nice looking, but not comfortable
It is a very picturesque and central hotel but we had the following problems:
- No aircon - this was a killer in the European summer heat. We got zero sleep. They do provide a fan but this does very little to actually cool the air, and instead just blows the warm air around. We also couldnt open the windows, making the heat that much worse, because:
- mosquitos - these ate us alive, even though we followed the hotel's advice in the arrival book not to open the windows in the evening due to these. The hotel notes it is because they are close to the canals. There were a lot of dead bugs squashed onto the walls and ceiling which was pretty gross (I've tried to add a photo of this to the review but cant atm). Clearly blood sucking, flying insects are an issue at this hotel. The room was otherwise clean.
- Large parrot in court yard - they admittedly did take this away at 9pm, but up until then, it let out random, blood curdling screeches which made relaxing very hard, as our room was right on the guest courtyard. It is not appropriate to have this noisy bird in the guest area in the evenings.
I think we would have really enjoyed the hotel in the winter but I would definitely not return in the summer. We dreaded going back to our room because of the heat, which made relaxing after a long day sight-seeing quite unpleasant and woke every day with large mosquito bites which my partner actually had a reaction to, tuning them into large welts. Great little hotel with the warmth of a small town. Close to everything, excellent service. The only downside was losing the electricity twice during our stay, but it was a simple breaker which was restored within 5 minutes both times.
