Nice hotel with friendly staff - it looked like they were undergoing renovations while they were there, so not all of the amenities were available. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. This is a great place to stay if you are leaving king for a quiet place that is within walking distance of great restaurants and parks

This is a very nice, comfortable property. The kitchen was not open so there was no breakfast, but there were cafes near by. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them, If anything could improve it would be internet access which was patchy.

The Hotel itself is fine and good value for money - unfortunately the area around the hotel has deteriorated and was very dirty with rubbish strewn over the streets. The hotel is clean and tidy and the roof top seating area is nice. The rooms are ok but dated as are the bathroom facilities but for the price it was a good and value option to stay.

This is the armpit of The city. unsafe neighborhood, filthy property, poorly functioning parking plumbing, bugs everywhere and they lock you in because the area is so unsafe and they don’t want nefarious characters entering. We checked in and checked out 20 minutes later. The photos you see online must have been taken many years ago. This is bait and switch! Of course done manager will respond to this review and apologize, offering to make it “right” next time- don’t buy it it! This place is more in line with a crack house than a hotel. You have been WARNED!

The staff was friendly and available 24 hours a day.
The check-in and check-out processes were smooth.
I had a late flight, and they held my baggage on check-out day free of charge.
The hotel is within walking distance of fantastic restaurants and clubs.

Recommendations:
THE HOTEL CAT - the hotel has a cat named Luna. Luna roams around the hotel at her leisure. It would be nice to let guests know this before in case anyone is allergic to cats.

CLEANLINESS- The hotel was not clean. It had a layer of dust on the furniture and in the rooms. The hotel has hardwood floors, and the dirt is obvious. My bathroom was not clean before my arrival. There was hair around the toilet, and the drinking glasses in the hotel room were not properly cleaned. During my three-night stay, my room was not cleaned.

AMENITIES - The hotel did not provide the complete list of amenities listed on the webpage and their guest-welcome pamphlet. It is essential to update all websites, brochures, and third-party websites with accurate information. The hotel did not serve breakfast, and there was no bar. The concierge service was non-existent. The rooms were not cleaned daily. The tour/ticket assistance was not available.

We booked a standard room but since we arrived in the morning so the receptionist said either waiting until 3pm or take a two twin bed room with a free breakfast because we haven’t eaten from the airport to the hotel. We decided to take the room. We were surprised that the room was so small there was no chair and table. The receptionist never told us the room was much smaller than we had booked. Later we looked at the hotel’s floor plan and realized that was the smallest room. Worse, when we went down to ask for breakfast, she said it’s $15 each person. So we over paid for the room. The hotel didn’t have elevator, the building was 4 story high.

Every aspect of this funky hotel is so much better than I expected from photos. All staff are so helpful and speak perfect English. Twin room with comfortable beds has French doors leading to balcony overlooking pretty courtyard. Breakfast has good choices of fresh fruit, breads, jams, cereals, cold meats and scrambled eggs. Location allows easy walking access to everywhere. Can not fault the Loreto with its excellent refurbished architecture. Would stay again

The hotel was very clean and in a great location. The hotel was very aged. The air conditioner did not work, but luckily we were there when it was a little cool still at night. We were told that the air conditioner in every room is broken so we couldn't just move rooms. The breakfast was okay but not great. The staff were really helpful and nice.

The hotel was okay. Nothing spectacular. Small room. Really small bathroom. Definite marks flaws in the bathroom. i thought our tub had bugs crawling in it, but it was just the material peeling away. Towels were awful, like the ones you get in a motel 6. The breakfast was pretty good. the staff was friendly and attentive though. The bar was awful. all in all i will not stay there again

A spotless hotel just off the main centre of the city, close to the funicular and food market. Very friendly people, and a immaculate hotel, very comfortable huge bed, smallish shower. The central courtyard had a real orange tree and pomegranate tree. Great.

Great location, fabulous, friendly and attentive staff! We were able to get a spacious triple that suited our needs beautifully. When we left for an excursion, one member in the group left her phone in the lobby and they were responsive when we called and asked them to hold it for us. They even returned it to our room and it was waiting safely on the desk when we returned. A staff member also stood outside with us as we waited for our ride to the airport to make sure we were fine. Phenomenal service!

Perfect location

Located in Bellavista around the corner from a subway station and surrounded by great cafes and restaurants, this apartment is an excellent place to stay in Santiago. Spacious and comfortable, perfect for a small family or a group of friends. No breakfast included, but the nearby wonderland cafe provides great breakfast. It would have been nice to have some coffee and tea bags in the apartment but no big deal. I would definitely use it again on another visit to Santiago.

Loved this hotel. TBright, young staff were super attentive and helpful. Room was comfortable, though a bit cramped. Air conditioner kept up with the heat (high 90's outside). Lovely courtyard for hanging out or to eat breakfast in. Breakfast was adequate - breads, fruits, cheeses, sliced meats, etc. Area was close to University and downtown. Lots of restaurants and night clubs within walking distance. Near San Christobal statue. We could have walked to Plaza de Armies, but because of the heat we chose to go be Taxi. TV has LOTS of stations, very few in English.

Come for the location but stay for the staff!

We were greeted upon arrival by a most helpful...and strong...doorman, who turned out to also provide security. There was someone there day and night to let residents in and out of the hotel. The reception desk staff were kind and informative, making travel and excursion arrangements for us and suggesting nearby restaurants.

Rooms are spread over 4 floors and all have courtyard views. First floor rooms open onto the courtyard itself; this floor is also where the breakfast is served. More than half the rooms on the upper floors have balconies, and we were able to leave our Windows open for a lovely breeze all night.

Rooms are spacious but pretty basic. However, room was sensationally clean. Bathroom was ridiculously small with no place to put even your toothbrush...unless you like leaving yours on the back of the toilet. Water was hot and shower was good.

Breakfast was mostly continental but with nice extras. Besides coffee, tea and toast, there was cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, meat and cheese, eggs, and even crepes one morning. The food bar is set up and replenished during the morning. Definitely enough food to keep you going for a good part of the day.

The hotel is in the Bellavista area, about a 10-minute walk from the funnicular going up to the Madonna on the hill, Pablo Neruda's house (fascinating!!), lapis lazily shops (if you are into this cool blue stone), and the art museum/metro/Hop-on bus stop. Fab location.

Love Santiago de Chile, hotel somewhat less

This is a poorly thought out property with rooms that require a great deal of creativity on the part of the guest to figure out how they will access their clothes, etc. My request for an old chair additional to the luggage rack in the room to put 2nd luggage on was ignored, and as this was the end of a month long S. America/Antarctica trip, being able to get to things was more important than usual. No closet, no cabinets, no chests--difficult. The night manager's response to my room flooding three times in one evening-through-next-morning was surprise when I asked to change rooms. Plumbers worked on the problem throughout my stay (I occasionally watched from another room). The younger contingent of the staff is very nice-chatted with them all and they were helpful and friendly as were all of the Chileans I met. Breakfast was adequate most days, really good on crepe days. Nice patio with an orange tree dropping fruit which I assumed was on the breakfast buffet daily. 10 minute walk to excellent Bellavista restaurants/clubs, same to Bellas Artes/Centro just across Mapucho River so location is extremely good but immediate neighborhood, not so much. I like funky, graffiti-decorated neighborhoods but this one was sort of a drag-just nothing of interest. I really loved Santiago de Chile so I wanted to like my hotel and that never seemed to happen. Most obvious fix for what could be a winner of a property: cabinet or closet space which would be tight in the 2 rooms I occupied.

We started out with a rather small room, but it had everything you needed. Very quiet with doors opening to a garden. After spending a night in Vaparaiso we came back for one more night and were treated to a \"superior\" room, which was absolutely amazing. Huge King size bed, jacuzzi bathtub, private balcony and all the space you can wish for. Breakfast buffet was also excellent.
They kept our luggage in the hotel while we were in Valparaiso, and were altogether extremely helpful with every problem or question we had. I can highly recommend the hotel

The hotel is located on a somewhat busy street. During the day time there are a a lot of people, but at night there were not as many. The 1st couple of blocks around the hotel can seem a little sketchy, but we walked all over and used the metro. Museums and local market are within walking distance. The hotel itself is clean, neat and very basic. It reminded us of a college dorm. Very friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Price was a little high for what we had been getting in other South American cities. Overall, we would recommend.

Go out of their way to treat guests well

The team here care about their guests. Nothing is ever a problem. For example during my stay a guest at breakfast mentioned they had an injury from day before. The breakfast manager heard this and contacted reception and they came to the guest and mention nearby Dr. I was checking out with 3 heavy bags, the room attendant saw me and went to lobby to get a bell boy to help me. It is little touches like this that makes a stay really pleasurable.

Our favorite hotel of this trip. Room clean, bed comfortable, window with balcony. We loved having a lounge on the roof -
great spot to enjoy sunsets. Also has solar panals on part of roof.
Outstanding cheerful help and advice from the staff, Excellent breakfast - great variety of items including local specialties
and fresh fruits.
Our room was very quiet. yet we could easily walk to all downtown areas. Also Bellas Artes metro station was nearby..
We were given advice on how to get to Valparaiso and back using public transportation.

I would go back in a heartbeat! The Bohemian neighborhood is funky and close to everything. The subway is about 5-6 blocks from the Bella's Vistas station stop. We were able to walk to museums, restaurants, etc. The front desk staff could not have been more helpful. They arranged taxis, recommended restaurants. It as a wonderful experience and would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Friendly, English-speaking staff at Loreto provided a warm, comfortable base from which to explore Santiago. My 'superior double room' was spacious, offered good wardrobe space, a cosy bathroom, and satisfactory WiFi. The breakfast is adequate, but for coffee - ask about the espresso maker in the foyer! Good advice was offered regarding tours, transfers, and local eateries including El Toro just a block away. Recommended.

Centrally located in Bella Vista, Santiago

We stayed at Hotel Loreto for 4 nights as a mini break before travelling to Ecuador. The staff at Hotel Loreto are excellent, they go out of their way to assist with anything that a guest would need. The Hotel is easy to find, centrally located and just across the river from Santiago Central, close to the Bella Vista area where there is a huge choice of restaurants and bars.
Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel if you need to stay in Santiago, Chile.

Good hotel for price

Staff spoke amazing English and were super helpful, friendly, and responded to our requests quickly. The hotel is clean and updated, the rooms are small but we didn't care as we weren't planning on being in the room for much of our stay. We liked that they were a green hotel so there was emphasis on recycling. Breakfast in the morning had lots of options!

Fantastic Stay!

Great last minute booking when ski plan fell through. Staff went out of their way to help in an array of ways, including by keeping an eye on the taxi service (map and app!). Great breakfasts, coffees/teas available upon request, loaner umbrellas for the rare Santiago downpours. Spanish/English capable. Close to Bellavista shops and restaurants without the noise and to Certo San Cristobal. (5 blocks to the great Petanque!) Near Metro stop too. Can't say enough good! Highly recommend.

Loved every second!

I arrived around midnight and they were very accommodating. The gentleman took me up to my room and generously showed me all the details of the room (the heater, the safe, the tv, the bathroom, the hairdryer, everything!). It was very cold outside but not once was I cold inside. Breakfast is simple but very good - bread, scrambled eggs, fruit, cold meats and cheese, yoghurt and some type of cake each morning, along with a variety of juices and tea and coffee of course.
Everyone I came across in the hotel were very friendly and more than happy to help. I was a solo traveller so relied on local recommendations for tours and eating out and I couldn't have been happier with their help.
Overall, my stay at Hotel Loreto was fantastic and Id most definitely stay again, as well as recommend to others. Thank you for a memorable trip!
