What a great location to base yourself while in Bruges. The staff were amazing and friendly. We were in room 5 which was spacious, clean and comfortable. Would not hesitate to stay here again if I ever return to such a lovely and historic place.

We loved the location & the quaintness of this charming old hotel. It had air conditioning & a beautiful window that opened up over the red brick rooftops.The entire city is beautiful.
We were on the top, 3rd floor & had to carry our suitcases up the stairs.
The breakfast was more than we needed to start the day but the dining area was wonderful to sit in.

Nice hotel, shame about the smell

The hotel was in a good location and the room was adequate for our needs. I really liked the mix of old beams with the contemporary decoration. The one downside to our stay was the very strong smell of drains (it almost smelt like a gas leak) in the lobby and stairwell area, it wasn't as bad in the room but the smell was still there and even stuck to our clothes when we got home!

Beautiful, landmark hotel

Beautiful landmark hotel, easy stroll to the main square and all the sights of Bruges. Our room was at the front of the hotel and had a lovely view of the church. There was quite a lot of noise from the street, wheelie cases on cobbles etc.- nothing the hotel can do to prevent but if you're a light sleeper may be worth taking ear plugs! Check in was easy and the bed very comfortable. A side table to put a drink, phone etc on would be nice but appreciate space was limited. Great location and would recommend.

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Goezeput! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are quaint and charming. We stayed in #12 and there are beautiful exposed beams that across the ceiling and in the bathroom! Now note that because this is an old building it can be a bit challenging for tall people--there are sections on the stairs where you'd need to crouch. But other than that, it's a lovely place to stay. And the superior and deluxe rooms just got AC! Perfect for a hot summer in Bruges!

A lovely hotel in a charming part of the town yet very convenient to the sites and city centre. Only a quick 10 minute walk from the train station up a lovely cobblestone street and you're there; a great location. The staff were all friendly and informative. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy. To top it all off the free wifi is very quick and steady compared to most hotels. The one downside is that it does NOT have a lift (elevator) nor porter service which, as an older fella traveling alone, was a bit of a challenge. At check in there was a fit young man who did carry my bag up to my room but at check out I was on me own. A minor thing but worth a mention to some travelers. I can not say enough about the charm of the place which seemed relatively newly refurbished yet maintained the old city charm. Look no farther this place is perfect.

We arrived at 3 pm, check in time, and they said they were late and didn’t have the room cleaned. They didn’t ask for an apology, they literally couldn’t care less.
The property was very very messy and dirty. The bathroom is so small it’s very difficult to even move The mattress was very old and uncomfortable.
This is not a good property and is not related to the review score it has. Beware.

Don't enter this hotel if you are a solo traveller

The merits of this hotel are its good location and tasty breakfast. But.... I stayed in room 16 and its conditions were unacceptable and I am not speaking about its small area which I know in advance. The central heating in the room was not operating on my arrival day and although I mentioned it nothing was done. That day was constantly raining and due to the nonfunctional heating I could not properly dry my cloths or bag. Only on the 2nd day the heating system was fixed.
The hot water in the bath could not be regulated with the cold ones so you could either was yourself with very cold or very hot water. Additionally the water flow (especially the hot water) was rather low. Another thing was the basin plug which was closed as its default position and you had to pull it any time you want the water to drop. I would also recommend the hotel to add some TV news channel in English to its portfolio

Experience spoiled by non functional shower. When reported the receptionist told us it shouldnt have been an issue because the plumber had already been earlier in the week. Well it was an issue and it wasnt working.
No apology or rate reduction.
Very poor service. Cannot recommend a hotel rhat has such low regard for customer feedback.

Perfect for couples

Hotel de Goezeput was perfect for our two nights in Brugge. The manager was one of the friendliest we encountered on our trip, and she gave excellent restaurant recommendations as well as some ideas for our two days of sightseeing in the area. The hotel is ideally located on a quiet street, close to all of the main sights, bars and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Great hotel stay.

Wonderful staff, delicious breakfast, super comfortable bed, nice location. I only wish we could have stayed on at least one lower level as my 82 year old mother had to take it slow to the very top where the lighting is not as good over the last flight of steps. Could not connect to Wifi on top floor.

We enjoyed our stay, the hotel was charming and full of character, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The Hotel is situated close to the city centre and many of the places of interest, so it was easy to get to and from each day. It is also a short walk from the railway station which was very handy!

The hotel has lots of character and makes a great base for a visit to Bruges. Within 10 mins walking distance of the station and close to the centre of Bruges. There's no elevator and the stairs, especially to the second floor, are steep.

Clean, basic accommodation which was good value for money. Family room was a good size for 4. It was within easy waking distance of main attractions e.g Belfort 5 minutes walk. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and gave us recommendations for local restaurants etc. The bar downstairs was cosy with fire.

High ceilings and open wooden staircase made for natural coolness. No air conditioning meant fresh air and lower carbon footprint.
Bit creaky in places but fabulous staff made up for it.

Charming, great value!!

Hotel is very charming and ideally located between Bruges station and the center of town. Check-in was very easy; front desk staff was kind. I got room 8 which is in the back of the hotel and very quiet! My room had a private bathroom (very clean, though quite small) and 2 beds pushed together. The front desk is only open between 8:00 - 20:00 (I think) so if you need an early or late check-in/out, arrange that with them ahead of time. They had an outdoor patio area in the back, as well as a super hip bar (where they also serve breakfast in the mornings). Not very handicap accessible; I don't believe there are any ground floor rooms, and you have to climb stairs to get to all the rooms. I loved my stay here and would definitely come back if I visit Bruges again!

Pros: Shopping district nearby, 15 min walk from train station
Cons: Small room. No elevator. No A/C and the room was hot. Only way to cool down is to leave windows open, but during spring time, dandelion seeds are flying all over the place. So people with pollen allergy is not recommended. The room was actually clean, but because of dandelion seeds around in the room, it looked a bit dirty.

Excellent Hotel - One of my favorites in Europe

Friendly staff, upgraded my room from a single bed to a souble bed with a lovley view to the streets. Fell in love with the hotel as soon as I walked in, the lobby and bar are really nice. When I got to my room I could not be any happier. Bed is very comfortable, plenty of light, very spaciuos and bathroom has everything you need. Location is excellent as it is on the way to the cneter polaza coming form the train station. Very quiet at night.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was in a nice quiet location, with convenient access to everything. The hotel was clean and felt very safe. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a room for three, which was two [American] twin beds pushed together for my husband and I and another twin for our boy. Sleeping on the beds pushed together wasn't the most comfortable, but otherwise, the accomodations were good. They also were clearly in the middle of some work on the floor, but I believe that was set to be finished soon. It felt like a family run place, which we liked, and we would choose again.

Disappointed by this hotel. Room was dusty, poorly maintained and very basic. Bar closed Saturday evening. Nasty smell on main staircase all weekend!!! Sensor lights on stairs came on far to late so a bit dangerous. Afraid this was a disappointing hotel. But in a gorgeous place so still had a good time.

Convenient location at a charming hotel

Cute with old, dark woodwork. We had a room on third floor during a heat wave. We expected to carry bags upstairs and hoped for AC but had a fan that worked to keep us fairly cool. Our room was huge, but our bathroom was curiously small, even by old European hotel standards. The shower door was broken (staff told us they knew about it but hadn't been able to get anyone to repair it) and the toilet was so close to the sink that it was set at an angle, so not the easiest to use. Shower itself was very nice.

Convenient and affordable

A lovely little hotel. We stayed in one of the upper rooms with exposed wood beams and two large windows with a view of the steeple and neighborhood, as well as a couch, easy chair and desk. Very relaxing environment, but just a short walk from the Church of Our Lady. Easy to get to the Grote Markt, but convenient and quiet enough to get away for a rest, too. No elevator. Breakfast was pretty basic so we only did it for one morning, and found better options just a few minutes walk away. Close enough to walk to the train station.

The location is good as everything is in walking distance. Staff, very nice. Room nice and big (room for 4 people was huge). Bathroom nice. Beds and pillows good. But, I cant suggest this hotel for the following reasons. I found the mornings to be extreamy noisy on the street out front. I can sleep thru a lot but, it was loud and way too early. And the stairs, they shake as you go up and down them - scary during the day but, at night it is unreal on how noisy this is. If your young and want a good place to stay in a group, here it is. If your older or with kids, this is not the place for you. For one night and the price - it would do but, not a second time

Just an FYI... I really only used the room to sleep and shower in. Cute hotel and very conveniently located! Beware that there is no elevator so you will be carrying any luggage up stairs. The room I stayed in was on the top floor and looked out onto rooftops but that was ok by me; it was quiet at night. Room and bathroom was clean, bed was comfortable and the only thing I could \"pick\" at was that there was really no way to prop the window open other than put the curtain in it! As for the front desk reception, everyone I spoke with was quite courteous and made an effort to understand all that I was asking (directions, tours, food choices, etc.)

Fantastic old building but had to carry our luggage up to the 2nd floor by ourself. Lovely room & views, good location, Basic but ok breakfast. Cars on cobble stone street can be a bit loud. 1.5km walk on cobble stone street from train station - don´t do it with a heavy suitcases! And Taxi drivers were cheating & going extra long way, have a map ready and tell them were to go! We had more issues with the people in general than the hotel really.

Hotel with great character

Hotel was in great location and had plenty of character with beautiful beams. Breakfast excellent ans staff very nice. Chairs in room uncomfortable and would have liked a fridge in the room. Be prepared for a walk up some stairs - we were on top floor (2 flights of stairs for us) as no elevator. Otherwise an excellent stay.

The hotel was in a great location. The staff was great and helpful in planning our day. The room was very clean and the bathroom looked newly updated. The only issue was there is no door on the shower so water seems to get everywhere. You can see where this has caused a little mold damage.

This was good little hotel well located between the railway station and the town square. It opened out onto a typical Brugge cobbled street and was quite quaint. The room was tidy but quite dated; someone some years ago must have gone Japanese and the raised bed platform needed careful negotiation in the dark. The in house wifi barely reached our room and we had to go into the main dining area to establish a connection each time. The breakfast was good; continental styled. Staff were friendly and very casual and the place felt more like an oversized B and B than a hotel. For all that we liked it. It was well priced, convenient, and tidy, and the minute you stepped out the door you were amongst cobbled streets and small low houses... Magical

This hotel was fine. Noting really to complain about but nothing to rave about either. Only there for a day so not sure if my opinion counts but the front desk staff was delightful and pleasant. The rooms were fine. Nothing glamourous or charming but it was fine for sleeping. The bathroom was quite small but again had a shower n toilet n sink... All the basics you could need. The location was fine too. A good 10-15minute walk into the main square area. We choose it for being close to the train station which it was only a 5-7min walk away. It was clean and well maintained though. Cute square just outside it that had a flea market in the morning and rimmed with cafés.

the hotel is clean, straightforward and in a great location just behind the cathedral. Our room was rather plain with a minimum of luxury but perfectly adequate for a couple of nights. We had a triple room ( the only one available when i booked) and we were very glad of the extra bed for somewhere to keep our clothes and bags! The rooms on the top floor are beautiful with amazing views but not available when we booked.The breakfast was great and much more plentiful than the \"coffee and croissants\" it mentions on the website.

The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from Bruges train station, and about the same from the city centre. Locating it is easy and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean with the only issue being the lack of an extractor fan in the bathroom. Hardly a fault that would spoil the stay however.

Quiet, friendly hotel, close to the city centre.

A short walk from the railway station, this easy to find hotel, is on the corner of two small streets and yet, it is very close to the city centre. A two or three minutes walk and you're on the main streets and a few moments more away from the beautiful squares and buildings that Bruges holds in store. I had read about the on-street rooms being very noisy. True, the windows are not double-glazed (building regs apparently), but the noise was not disturbing. Perhaps if a stag or hen do were to reel past at 3am, it might be more noticeable. The staff are very friendly, helpful and multi-lingual. The continental breakfast is typical and plentiful. We had a \"small double\" room and small was a very accurate description. Once the newly fitted shower/bathroom hub was installed, there was room a new bed, a couple of shelves and almost nothing else. But it was comfortable enough and we were, after all, only there to sleep. Overall a very pleasant experience and I would certainly book again if and when I visit Bruges again.

Had a great time. Hotel was lovely and service fantastic. Rooms were very clean and modern no chintz or floral in sight! The fire in lounge area was lovely and cosy great for warming up after being out in the cold. Some refurbishment work being done to the building and would love to see what it looks like finished as what they have already done is very tasteful and understated. Great place to stay and would love to go back. Strongly recommend it.

the hotel location is both a short walk from the train station and in a quiet neighborhood. But if you walk a couple of blocks, you'll find that you're right near the attractions of Brugge. The hotel is a very nice older building with a lot of character. Isabelle was our host and helped us with our every need. We would certainly look to stay there again.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. One straight road from Brugge Station and around a 10 minute walk. It does not matter where you go in Brugge you will ALWAYS find your way back to the hotel. Its around a 05 minute walk to the market and other sights.

The breakfast in the mornings is nice too, various breads and cooked meats along with freshly squeezed juice and tea & coffee. We ended up with a twin bed as opposed to a double so a few more double bed options would be nice.

All in all it's a very nice hotel.

Hotel in need of renovation, interior decorations of rooms need painting and cleaning thoroughly. No hanging space in single room and 4 hooks on wall for hanging in twin room. Drain blocked in sink.

The service was welcoming. We arrived around midday and our room was not ready yet, but we were allowed to leave our bags in anyway. On our last day we could just leave our bags in the hotel after checking out.

Good Breakfast. Buffet, self service. Smart looking bar if you wanted a drink there in the evening.

We had a double deluxe room on the top floor which was great. Large comfy bed. Good shower. Clean room. Lots of space. When I booked it was not much more money to have a deluxe room, and I think it is worth it (I did have a quick look in one of the smaller rooms).

Finally - I thought it was good value and I would go again.

Just as good second time around

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. First time was just me and my husband and the second time, three couples.

We all agreed the hotel is lovely. Old with lots of character. Who wants to stay in a chain of hotels when enjoying the historical town of Bruges. We all loved it.

Not a good hotel for a family

Unfortunately, the room provided was very disappointing. I had booked a deluxe double room and asked for an extra bed for a child. Although they kindly offered to provide a triple bedded room instead for no extra charge, the room was without any of the historical features advertised, being tucked away at the back of the hotel, small and cramped, in need of repair in places due to water damage, a view only of the walls of adjacent buildings, and our sleep was disturbed by the noise of some machinery outside which cycled on and off all night.

Judging from other reviews and the hotel's web site there are some pleasant rooms in this hotel, but if going with a family I would beware of being given this room.

peaceful City centre location

I was very impressed by all aspects of my stay, from the very friendly welcome by the lady on reception, with helpful suggestions on where best to park the car, to the Breakfast service the following morning, nothing was too much trouble. Whilst I do speak Dutch, she took the time to explain everything in English, and I heard her speak in several European languages with ease during my one night stay. The room was not ready when I arrived, but I was allowed to leave my bags in the room, until it was serviced. It was a very hot weekend, the first for so long. The stay at the hotel with its low slung bed and compact shower room was just the break I needed. There is a lack of noisy people in Bruges by night and the hotels side street location helped. The locals were very friendly too. I booked via the site on a whim and was very pleased with the prompt service and lack of confusion, the hotel sent me maps and itinarary suggestions too, a very good touch considering it was classed as 2 star. I very much doubt you would find the same attention to detail in the UK 2 star hotels of London.

Great location & Great Service

This hotel is fantastically located in the centre of town and within a few minutes walk of all sights. It's also just a short walk from the train station.
The staff at the hotel were fantastic. They made great recommendations for places to eat and were really friendly.
Breakfast was also really good.
And the rooms were lovely...full of character but with a modern touch.
Loved this place.

The hotel was in a great location, but parking was slightly inconvenient. The hotel environment was fabulous, the breakfast was good, and the lobby bar was great. I would recommend this to friends staying in Bruges!

A great place from which to see Brugge

The Hotel de Goezeput is exactly what the title says, a great place from which to walk around to see all that Brugge has to offer. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful with showing where sites to visit are located. The rooms are reasonably sized and comfortable for a European hotel, especially one in an 18th century monastery. The bed and pillow were not the most comforatble but were passable; breakfast was not elaborate in terms of selection, but the food and coffee were good.
The historical nature of the hotel and the location are what help make this a good choice: you are minutes from most of the museums and key sights of the city, so it is a good place from which to set out to see Brugge.

Stayed at the de Goezeput for five nights and had a great time. My (single) room was quite small but was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable, and the toilet and shower were also spotless and looked new- plenty of hot water too. In a very convenient location- only 10 minutes walk from the railway station and very close to all the main sights- it was only a further 10 minutes to the main square and the Belfort. I also found it very quiet, little road noise from the street. Breakfast was also good, and kept me full most of the day. I felt very safe and secure, so would recommend.

Goezeput - friendly gorgeous hotel in centre

Loved the hotel, good location and can walk from the train station (depending on how heavy your bags are). The staff were really friendly, the guy on the bar was lovely, giving us directions about where to eat and my partner could watch the football! Room was in the attic and really big, loved all the old beams, great view of the churches and had a fab stay in Bruges. Breakfast was nice and highly reccomend the hotel for the great price too.

Solo Travellers Room is extremley Small

I stayed in 2 room during my stay because a Friend joined me for one day.

Room 16 - Solo Room is so small I could touch the wall on one side with my hand and touch the other side with me foot. I had nowhere to put my stuff. There was a chair in the room. The chair width was the size aisle in the room. The closet was 1 foot wide with no shelf space. Other than the bed there was only room to swing the door open. I left the washroom door and shower door open because it was so tight. The room was also very hot, I left the windows open all night and all day because it would just get too hot in the room.

Room 3 - Room for 2. This room was at least 5 times larger than room 16. It was significantly better. There was lots of room to walk around, a table. The washroom was pretty big with a shower. The room was much cooler. (I think its because its larger it didn't get hot boxed) Too bad I wasn't in this room my whole stay.

Free WI-FI was great, the speed was fast, 10mb download speeds 1.5 mb upload speeds.
The breakfast was good, Cheese, Salami, Croissants, coffee, tea, cereal, OJ, Milk.
The location was really good, a short walk to market square, a close walk to the train station.
The church bells ring every morning at 8am for like 10 minutes so forget it if you want to sleep in. Sleeping in is really not a good idea in Brugge anyways because the whole city shuts down at 6pm. Nothing is open except restaurants after that.

Good Hotel - Excellent Staff - Great Location

Extremely friendly hotel staff. Very impressed with the service. Short walk to/from train station and the heart of the city, including the canal and all the shopping. Excellent location. Great experience all around. The room was a bit too small. Two people would not have fit. Breakfast was minimal. But overall...excellent stay! Perhaps the best hotel staff I've ever had, and that is saying a lot. Very happy, and when I go back I'll stay there again.

Nice time in Brugges

The Manager was very kind and upon my arrival provided to me with a map of the area and indicated the touristic places recommended to visit. The service was really good. The only thing I have to say is that the room was very small, but fair compared to the service and price obtained.
