Room itself was pleasant enough. The architecture was beautiful, with authentic old timber floors and exposed wooden beams full of character. However, there were several aspects of the experience that fell short.
The accommodation is located above a bar, and the overall setup made us feel more like an inconvenience than valued guests. Check-in is handled by the bar staff, and the person assisting us was unfriendly and unhelpful.
Access to the property is through an inconspicuous rear entrance, which only reinforced the impression that the accommodation is secondary to the bar and restaurant at the front.
The room itself also lacked attention to detail. The bathroom mirror was cracked, with sections of glass appearing loose and at risk of falling out. The towels had been rolled up and placed inside the sink, which felt odd and unhygienic. Refreshments were minimal — just two Nescafé coffee pods and a coffee machine, with no tea or complimentary water provided. We purchased a 2L bottle of water from the bar and were charged €9 despite being guests. This could quite easily have been complimentary.
Finally, I was staying with my five-year-old child, and I was concerned that the bathroom window had no safety restriction or protection to prevent it opening fully. A child could easily fall out, which is a serious safety issue.
