If you're not a tourist, but a traveller.

This is my favorite style hotel. A hostel for adults. Artsy, friendly, communal spaces, honor bar, groovy interior. AND, right in the old center of town, but far away from the center plaza. Excellent !

A CHARMING PLACE BY FRIENDLY PEOPLE..

One night stay on the way to Normandie and Calais.- It is a minimal managed place, but the building and its location makes it an experience that matches Bruges charm.- Excellent locaton with the needed access service to make it acceptable value.

Conveniently located across from Sint-Salvatorskathedraal cathedral and within walking distance from great shopping and the Bruges market square. Once again I had a room on the top floor and with no elevator had a nice workout getting my heavy suitcase to my room. The room was spacious and best of all, quiet. I would highly recommend Salvators.

Hotel was nice but we got to the hotel at 14:45 and was told we couldn’t check in till 15:00 which was a bit tight as I’m 99.9% sure the room was ready. No one was on reception when we arrived. Most of the time no one was on reception. I’m not giving the hotel a bad review, though it might just be typical of hotels in Bruges

The hotel is well situated in the old town, and near a parking garage. Our room was quirky and fun, with a balcony and a kitchenette.
The building had quite a strong smell as you entered and the facilities were run down, but it is a good budget option for Bruges and charming in its own way. The room itself was clean and comfortable.

Family of of 4 ,the beds are not comfortable,especially the kids beds as every little movement they would squeek,so ended up the kids taking the mattresses off the pull out beds and sleeping directly on the floor,if you want a well placed hotel then yes ,but if you want to have a good night sleep after a long day then don’t stay here

2 night stay with 8m old

We stayed for 2 nights with our 8 month old baby in the triple deluxe room (Fort Lapin).
We drove from U.K. to Bruges 21/12/23. Part of the attraction of this hotel was the parking however when it came to looking into this, it wasn’t that straight forward so I researched other options. Sadly when we got close to the centre, a lot of the roads were closed due to a festival which meant we couldn’t easily park. Eventually we got to the station car park which was only a 10 minute walk, with a travel cot, baby, buggy and baggage this wasn’t ideal, but doable.
The room was on the first floor (no lift), the lad at the desk upon check in was nice and offered to help us to our room.
The room was spacious but I felt it did smell a little Smokey. There was obvious wear and tear within the room, the bottom of the curtains were stained, 2 out of 7 spot lights worked in the bathroom, couldn’t turn on bedroom lights before going up despite the switch at the bottom of the stairs.
No kettle, just a coffee machine which poured dirty water when I just wanted some boiling to make some baby formula, we boiled on the hob in the end.
Only 2 coffee bags, 0.5€ for extra.
At the time of booking we didn’t take into consideration that we would ideally require a separate room for our baby. Our room had a mezzanine floor which we just about fit the travel cot on at end of our bed and we managed to make use of the kitchen/living space whilst our baby slept above us, just no TV.

What an incredible location! Asked for the room with the loft, and the view of Sint-Salvators cathedral from the window of the loft is incredible! Several little oddities, like light switches in odd places and a glass bathroom door. But, really, those little oddities added to the charm of the place. I would absolutely stay there again.

Great hotel, right in the centre of everything

A great hotel, walkable to all the main sights and 5 mins walk from main town car park. Room (Delirium) was a great size and beautiful view looking at the church opposite.

Bells do ring from 8am onwards, but didn't spoil the stay.
Worth noting all rooms accessed by stairs, but only over 2/3 floors.

Nice little touch with an \"honesty bar\", but didn't get chance to use.

What a great place! We stayed in the Belle-Vue room. It was cute, clean and worked for 4 people. Quiet location, we walked there from the train station. Breakfast was really good and staff was very friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to keep our luggage there while we had a full day of sightseeing after we checked out. Great place. Would highly recommend!!!

Excellent value in central Bruges and just 5 minutes from Markt and Burg areas.
BUT...
We knew that check in was 3pm but the hotel was unstaffed at 2pm when we arrived hoping to dump our bags for an hour.
We returned just after 3 and it was still unstaffed. We rang the number on the door with no reply. The guy showed up around 3.10 to check us in so no real drama BUT keep this in mind if you (like us) like to check out, leave your bags and pick them up later as this may be a problem as I doubt anyone would be there before 3pm.
Bruges seems to be short staffed everywhere and this may have been a temporary issue but I mention it as it's important to many.
We had the Terrace room which was a great room with modern bathroom with rain shower.
The terrace was disappointing tho- covered in bird poop, and the table and bench are in need of some repair.
We did not see any staff in the hotel over 4 days so don't expect to use the bar or spa. When you check out you have to call a number and leave your keyfob.
It's basically a remote control hotel with no one on duty. That was not an issue for us once checked in but it could be important for others.
Also I'd suggest the hotel provide instructions for using the TV with the input/source needed between the Bose and Samsung remotes.
Great value but keep these issues in mind if considering Salvators.

Very central position.
Very friendly staff tho obviously busy. Just didn't feel like a hotel but in a good way.i don't think we made too many demands but felt we could have done.

The property was charming and very central.

The family room we stayed in was large and easily fit the double bed plus two singles (although it would have had trouble fitting another). There was WiFi, a tv, a coffee machine and lovely rain shower and bath in the bathroom.

The windows looked out onto the back of the cathedral next door. A few times, we nipped up to the Carrefour which was just a minute away.

The staff were not always around but contactable via phone and would come over straight away when needed.

Loved our stay! It was located perfectly for our touring plans, was super clean and had what we needed. The only minor items were lugging suitcases up to a 3rd level, the moodiness of the stairs whenever any guests moved around and there wasn’t a receptionist available for most of the time (if that’s something you need). Again, those aren’t negatives, but for anyone reading this review, be aware that that’s the nature of a hotel in an older building, which is beautiful in itself. Highly recommend and would stay again!

Good location which was an easy walk from the train station and quick walk to all major sites. Hint: memorize the tower of the San Salvator church, just across the street, which makes for an excellent \"guide\" when walking back to your room.
Con: Mini fridge did not work at all, which was disappointing-- highest setting kept it the same as room temperature. Lots of stairs, which is not that unusual in Europe.

Great location! We could look out the window at St. Salvador's, and it was an easy walk to many of the top sites. The family room was spacious. My only complaint was that it got a little warm on the top floor, and so we had to sleep with the windows open (so we got street noise, and we couldn't use the curtains to keep the room dark). Tip: if you don't have a lot of luggage, just park by the train station. It's less than half the cost of the garage nearest the hotel, and it's only about a 20 minute walk.

Right next to church in central Bruge.... it feels very authentic but with upgraded amenities. Bath tub large looking out over rooftops. Fun experience. Check in staff very responsive even though door locked, simply ring door bell and they appear. We ask for parking and had indoor parking garage down the street. I would go back!

Amazing location, room needed lots of TLC

Hotel was in a very central location, a few minutes walk to bars, restaurants and shops and 10 mins from the maim square. Located right next to the cathedral but the bell chiming didnt start too early in the morning! Staff were friendly and helpful and there was a lovely communal sitting area with a roaring fire (gas) day and night. Our room was right at the top of the building and was nice and quiet (apart from the bells). The room itself was clean and warm but needs a lot of TLC. Very dated 70's look and feel (and not in a retro way). Cracked mirror, cracked sink, lights that didnt work, bedside table coming off the wall, stained carpet, a large noisy fridge (which we turned off). For what we paid I dont want to be too critical but for a would be prepared to pay more and stay there again if the room was brought up to a decent standard.

room itself was really lovely and modern, very small but they had used the space really cleverly so it didn't feel cramped. would definitely co.e back as it's also right in the centre so all the touristy things are right outside! only downside is the parking, there isn't any on site and but there is a car park just a few minutes walk away. and the whole thing was really good value for money

The location for the hotel is fantastic, easy walk to the train station, city center, lovely views right outside.
The staff wasn't impolite but also didn't go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable.
The room we stayed in was Flandrien. The room was very dated and lacked some practicality. There was no full length mirror or even a mirror where a shorter person (5'2'') could see more than just their face. The light in the kitchenette was out making it a really dark spot in the room. The curtains in the room were very dirty and even the bathroom had curtains to cover the large windows. The carpets looked old and tired. The bed frame was covered in fabric that was torn in many places. There is no air conditioning though there was a dusty fan provided. There was also no fan in the bathroom which meant that the windows had to be opened, this brought in lots of mosquitos. It was a comfortable enough stay but nowhere I felt comfortable spending long periods of time, just a place to lay our heads. The bar was never opened during our stay.

Family celebration in Bruges

Sensational experience for our family whilst celebrating my Wife's 40th Birthday.

Excellent location centrally, with beautiful views and short walking distance to all attractions.

An amazingly tranquil city of medieval history which still encaptures the true values of the city with soft modern influences which do not detract from its beauty.

Highly recommend the Horse Cart family ride for 50Euro plus tip for the horse ;) and also the Canal boat trip - 28euro for family of 4. Both provide stunning views of the city in a loveley experience though also provide you with locations to walk later in your trip.

Joeeys Cafe was our favourite evening location to end our family walks around the city and we balanced our spend by eating out in local sidestreet cafe's etc during the day and enjoying more expensive local restaurant experiences in the evening. The choice of quality and cuisine is sensational throughout the city, though can be very expensive. We enjoyed a homely flemish eating experience at Grandma's Kitchen - their meatballs and mash potato are simply heavenly.

Waffles, chocolate and beer obviously our staple diet for the trip and no shortage of locations to enjoy this.

Great location and breakfast is ok. Service is good, provided if you can find any staff at the reception. Serious safety issue in the room we stayed in. There is only handrail without any balusters on the tiny mezzanine level bedroom and the stairs and the end of bed is right at the end of the edge. The room is desperately in need of modernisation. A pity as have great potential to be a brilliant hotel.

So I booked this hotel because it catches my eye that it was an old building located right in the heart of Brugge and the fact that the rooms have the names of the abbey breweries. The hotel was more than I expected WE LOVE IT. I have to start with the stuff she was super nice and help us with few things we asked, the room was super nice, clean and loved the little deck outside and the breakfast was awesome specially the fresh squeezed orange juice. I’ll recommend this hotel 100% . Thanks Salvatore

Excellent location right in the middle of the town 50 metres from the cathedral. The boat trip is essential and we would recommend “Lobster Pot” for a fish dinner and it is 50 metres from the hotel. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful and pleasant.

We enjoyed staying in Salvatores, it is convenient to get to, secure underground parking nearby & it is a short walk to the City's Square. I'm guessing but I think the building is in the neighbourhood of 500 years old and our room was very quaint. The bedroom was in a loft & space was at a premium. The bed was very comfortable & we opened the windows to allow some air flow. We had a patio o/s the living room that was accessed by stepping up thru the window. We enjoyed sitting on the patio with a glass of wine after a full day. They served a wonderful breakfast in the morning at the sister B&B across the street. Loved this hotel & would stay there again?

Hotel is around 10 minutes away from everything

The hotel is around 15 minutes from the train station and 10 minutes from the Markt. Its right across a famous church so its easy to find.

We should have paid attention a little more to the allowed check in times. We arrived there at 12pm and wanted to drop off our bags before exploring the city. Unfortunately all the doors were locked and nobody was inside. We tried to call the number that was listed but were having trouble getting through. We just killed time at a local brewery 5 minutes away and tried our luck later. Nobody was still there when we got back but we asked a stranger across the street at another hotel if they know whatsup and luckily it was the same owner lol. The owner said she runs around 3 hotels around that area. So if you're in the same situation as us, go across the street. There are no lifts at the hotel so if you're on the top floor good luck if you have lots of bags. In the morning we were woken up by a kid the same floor that was screaming non stop for a few hours. Since nobody was at the lobby, couldn't complain or anything

Old, historic building that has been converted into a B&B/hotel. Location was on the edge of the historic area, and a sort walk to most of the sights. Most rooms seemed intended for couples, and we had a slightly larger third floor rooms. No elevator and stairways are extremely narrow, which meant getting up and down and moving luggage was a chore. Beams and dormers meant stubbed tows and bumped heads on more than one occasion. While we were told we would have twin beds and a double bed, we actually ended up with a small double Murphy-style bed that pulled down from the wall. The supports on the front end stuck out and everyone banged their shins and twos on them. Not a good feature. Mattresses seemed old and were much too soft and lacked support. Light fixtures were eclectic and some didn't work (or it was not clear how to turn them on). Bathroom included a large, jetted tub that took up all the space, making it hard to use the toilet. They did provide some soap in dispenser, but the \"shower gel\" was much too thin for that use and the hand soap seemed more like shampoo. For a place of this prove level and supposed quality I would have expected better. Breakfast was good if expensive, and they provided gluten free bread, which was nice. Salvadors has changed management recently and is now owned by people who also own and operate two upscale neighboring hotels. Staff was helpful, though you often had to hunt people down at one of the neighboring places to get help.

Nice little hotel, in central location. Our room had store condition, which was really appreciated. WiFi signal/bandwidth however was too weak.

Hotel Salvator Fits The Bill

This hotel is well situated with a manageable walk from the car park at the rail station and an excellent location for site seeing strolls.
The very old 15th century building has character, a very accomodating and helpful staff, a great breakfast and rooms that are well renovated with oodles of european eccentricities.

Not bad, good location

Good location but can be noisy at night. Toilet seat was broken. Shower was small. Awesome radio but couldn't change stations.

Doesn't have parking. Need to pay 8.70 for overnight parking in the garage.

Stay here if you want something close to downtown.

Nice but noisy

If you are a heavy sleeper than no issue, but for being on an old cobblestone street this place has lots of loud noise from outside. Staff is helpful. We had no working shower .

Cool spot, convenient access to Bruges attractions

Cool spot, near everything. Staff was terrific. The hotel is pretty small and quiet so stay elsewhere if your planning on a long night.

Lovely stay, great staff!

Overall the stay was a lovely experience. The hotel is close to parking and very centrally located! The rooms were clean, modern and the owner was helpful and courteous with every step of our stay. I'd easily say this was one of the nicest places to stay in Bruges.

Walkable from train.

About 15 minute walk from train station. Right near all of the shopping and tourist sights. Crowded with shoppers, which came as a surprise. Hadn't expected so many stores in those beautiful old buildings. Like an outdoor mall with the same things one can buy anywhere.

Historic gem in downtown Brugge

The hotel is hard to get to by car, especially when there are road works in progress. We ended up parking about 10 mins away walking the final bit. The hotel staff was really friendly and recommended sites to see and restaurants for dinner. The historic building makes for an amazing hotel.

Very pleasant.

Good location, central but quiet. Fairly basic room but comfortable beds and a pleasantly relaxing lounge/bar with a very welcome fire in the cold weather, a cosy refuge when you are fed up with the hordes of tourists. The staff were extremely hospitable.
