Room is very dated. Watermarks on furniture. Only one chair in a room with two double beds. Signs of poor repairs in bathroom (ceiling and porcelain) and PowerPoint coming away from wall. Beds were clean but linen very threadbare. Beds extremely soft. Room was very hot and stuffy and ventilation was poor, too noisy to have it on at night.

I've fed back to the hotel. While the bed was comfy, the room was happy and unclean. The response from hotel management was a cut and paste reply that didn't respond. Also, I tried communicating with the Copthorne through the Expedia app with no response at all. Very disappointing.

Extremely limited parking and very hard to navigate in and out of it if you are issued a spot. Wifi connection is awful and would reset or not connect for 30 min at a time. Contacted the front desk about it and they said that’s how it is and the other wifi code they could give me is even slower. Doors slam shut automatically so you hear them at all hours of the night while trying to sleep. Bathroom doors are sliding and do not muffle any sound coming from the bathroom. Would not recommend staying here even if it’s a good deal.

We stayed in several accommodations during our trip, and unfortunately, the Copthorne Hotel Auckland CBD was the worst by far. The receptionist was unwelcoming and dismissive upon check-in.

We booked a city view room based on the photos shown during booking and on the hotel’s website. Instead, we were given a very small room on Level 2 with two double beds, overlooking the car park. The so-called “view” consisted of a large tree and Anzac Avenue, with constant traffic from cars and buses—there was absolutely no city view.

The air conditioning was not functioning properly. It was extremely noisy and only blew warm air. Considering it was January (summer) and we were three people in a tiny room, the heat made it unbearable and resulted in a sleepless night. When we raised this issue with reception, the response was simply “no”—we were told we could not be moved to another room with a city view or working air conditioning.

Breakfast was equally disappointing. The hot food was covered with cheap plastic, and both the bacon and sausages had a strong, unpleasant smell that made them inedible. The quality felt extremely poor. When we asked for a hot chocolate for our child, we were told they only provide coffee and would need to charge extra for hot chocolate.

To make matters worse, we later realized we had paid $50 more than the hotel’s normal daily rate.

Overall, this was a very poor experience. We would not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful room, wonderful staff, breakfast was very good. Rooms came with fridge, coffee maker for tea and coffee with cream and different kinds of sugar. You can use their laundry facility. Close to Sparks Arena and the Civic Center. You can walk to the Ferry and there’s stores, the Auckland Museum and restaurants practically a few blocks away from the hotel. They’ll even store your luggage. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff is really great. Location is ok, though restaurants are a good 6-7 blocks away. If you take a left out of hotel, good neighborhood. If you take a right…not so much. Rooms desperately need updating and a deep clean. I was there for 3 nights and changed rooms twice. The first, had a gorgeous view and somewhat quiet- but smelled of mold. The 2nd room, not nearly as quiet, furniture was really beat up, don’t walk barefoot stained carpet, and flooded while I was out on a tour. 3rd room, overlooked a construction site but was cleaner. The staff did immediately move me after the flood and comped my breakfast and gave me tickets for free cocktails. Not their fault, and they did the best they could. Copthorne management needs to do a better job of upkeeping their property. Overall, ok place to stay if you just need a place to end a busy day of touring!

Would have liked cups in the room to be bigger as so tiny had to make 3 cups every time . Only 2 english breakfast t bags im british enjoy several cups of tea. Staff great . Enjoyed breakfast. Would have been nice to have brochures on display so could decide where to visit or maps where to go.

The staff were lovely & very helpful, we were able to get a car park which was awesome but you don't know until you arrive if it's available. The wifi wasn't strong enough to cast to the tv, it kept dropping out but worked fine on phones. The beds were comfortable but the room did look a bit tired. Great location for the Arena.

Our check in was at 2pm and we had to wait for an hour and a half until the room they allocated us was ready. When we called them they eventually gave us two room keys and none of them was the original room they allocated us, but why give us two rooms?
Do they charge extra if people check out an hour and a half after check out?
Will not be going back as they made us late for our function, not happy.

Stay was good for the price - clean room and staff was accommodating. FYI there is no room service (we ordered breakfast) and had to take the elevator down to pick it up.

The power ports are in weird positions and cleaning staff nearly broke my charger as the port was behind the bed and they pushed the charger and cable into the wall. This was only issue, but overall cleaning services was great.

Location is central and I had no issues getting around by foot. Overall a good experience albeit a few issues.

On check in the wifi did not work, I gave it it an hour or so and retried but still wouldn't so called fornt desk who said they had logged issue with thier IT. Had a Zoom business call at 8pm but wasn't able to join on video as had to limit usage via hot spot.
Tried again in the morning and still not working.

Asked at reception for any compensation or free breakfast at the buffet was was declined.

There is a $30.00 per night parking charge. The management of this hotel need to make up their minds as to whether they are a short term parking lot or a hotel with guest parking. This charge caused us not to patronise the restaurant for either dinner or breakfast in protest. The meals/ drinks would have earned far more for the property than their annoying parking policy. Would not stay there again.
