Our shower was leaking, there was black hair dye on our mirror, you only got one pillow per person, towels were paper thin and there was no heat pump - just a tiny heater hidden away. The curtains were too short for the window and not attached at the end so you spent ages trying to close them, which you needed to do as the neighbouring property looks right in on you

FYI they charge a $200 bond to your credit card on check-in, was probably in the fine print but never come across this before.

Whilst this is a nice place to stay, the hot water was an issue as it keeps fluctuating from hot, cold and warm (at times too hot for kids) and there is a sign saying that you need to spread out the showers so not to run out of hot water. There is also no reverse cycle heating, so all heaters were portable and very loud. Kitchen was lacking cooking equipment and utensils.

When I checked out, I was told our $200 deposit could take between 8-10 days to clear by the bank which was a surprise to us. I was told that this information was on the form I had signed when I checked in.
As it was a late last minute stay in Auckland we didn’t even think to read any fine print on the checking in form. I was just instructed to “put my email address at the top and sign at the bottom”. Lesson learnt.
