The property was in a great location and it roughly takes 30 minutes to walk to the marina and around 15 minutes to the local restaurants (It’s 30 euros one way to the marina)

The bathroom was very nice and modern, however, the bedroom was slightly dated and the mattress was not the most comfortable. Also the tv in the bedroom was not a smart tv and there were no English channels.

If the bedrooms and TV were modernised I would stay here again.

Very safe and private hotel. The staff were polite and helpful. Cleanliness very good in all areas of the hotel. The pool area is lovely and there’s plenty of space. The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. You need a car if you stay here or you will need taxis to get around. The rooms are a little basic oand our “sea view” was not the best as we were on the ground floor. Overall though, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We loved how convenient the property and hotel was…. Breakfast was perfect lots of options, wish it would have been open as of 7am and not 8….. we had a car and the parking at the hotel was super easy and convenient….. pool area was perfect , walk to the beach was great and easy , beautiful beach area for the hotel…. Not happy about the fact you have to pay for beach chairs with the hotel or if you want beach chairs on the beach you have to pay….. lunch services is slow…. Rooms are good and clean….. the hotel is perfect if you like the resort feeling, I would recommend this hotel

What an incredible location and property. It sits a top of a hill and the private beach is very nice. Be prepared to pay 30€ for chairs. The front desk experience is VERY SLOW and not quite accommodating, there are 2 members of the staff that really went out of their way to help me book a sailing experience. The rest of them are not very helpful, particularly the one front desk girl told me “Google it” when I requested to rent a scooter, which I was so flabbergasted by. They always arrive late in the morning so you will be waiting till they show up.
The breakfast is simply average and the espresso machine makes the absolute worst cappuccino. The rooms are very very run down and to make matters worst, I woke up with bites all over my legs and I itched throughout my stay. The safe does not work and the metal is rusted. The showers are so small it feels you are bathing in a cruise ship. The bedding is cheap and pillows and mattress super uncomfortable. The blow dryer is old. On the good side, the views are incredible and you have comfortable parking right below your room. The pool is outstanding, large and very comfortable. The Cliff restaurant has the most incredible views and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The tennis court is readily available. What really does not help this property is the rooms and some of the front desk lazy staff. Shot out to the mature / older gentleman at the front desk, he truly is the best thing in the entire property.

Good spot. Okay standard. Not exclusive.

It was a good spot to stay in, but for the price we paid we also expect a pretty high standard. The standard was fine, but we were not impressed by the hotel.

Pro’s; private parking spot right in front of our room. Good aircon. Private patio. Cute beach below the hotel.

Con’s; Beach beds not included. Hotel breakfast felt very basic and over crowded. Pool felt like a resort kids pool.

Property has easy access to the beach and a nice pool. Room and bathroom were a nice size, but the amenities were not luxury. The mattress was cheap, rock hard and very uncomfortable. Very dorm room like. Hotel is quite shabby, including in the lobby. Unpleasant smells around every corner. Desperately in need of refurbishing. Staff was abrupt and rude. Watch out for hidden charges. Definitely won’t be back.

El hotel es viejo, con pocas comodidades, la ducha es chica, el cuarto no tiene pava eléctrica ni frigobar. El desayuno es básico. No tiene ascensor. El personal es bastante rudo en su trato con los huéspedes. No volveríamos.

The first night we arrived late and were rushed into the check in by a rude receptionist to a room that smelled sooo bad and had black water come out of the sink, the next day we told them about it and they changed our room with the excuse “ yes some of our room locations have smells”
The new room had no smell but had construction in the hallway so we woke up early disturbed by workers being so loud.
Overall it was a terrible experience and this hotel seems nice online but a total disappointment in person

Comfortable hotel with a nice pool and close to some of the nicest beaches on the Costa Smeralda. Not the most luxurious hotel, but well kept with a high standard of cleanliness and pleasant, helpful staff.

The Grand Hotel renigged on our reservation and sent us to Colonna Hotel and Sporting Club. It was a major step-down. so far from the beach that we didn't try to make the long walk because they could not provide accurate directions. No wifi ib room. Rooms were tiny and uncomfortable.

The hotel is simply idyllic. It’s very well designed with lots of lovely different areas for relaxing/sunbathing and the view is beautiful. The pool is a good size, the sandy beach is lovely and there is a pool bar and a beach cafe. The breakfast choice is very good. We stayed in a classic double room with sea view and couldn’t fault it.

Perfect holiday in Sardinia staying in Grand Hotel In Porto Cervo. Relaxed setting, lovely pool and sun lounge areas throughout the hotel grounds; a stones throw from the sandy beach with its blue waters ideal for swimming and snorkelling; easy access the Porto Cervo harbour and the Maddelena islands; delicious breakfast and dinner; friendly and helpful staff. Boat trip to the islands a must do. Must haves to take include binoculars to watch the super yachts go by and snorkelling kit to swim with the fish. Had a fantastic time and will definitely return to this hotel.

Lovely friendly hotel

Lovely friendly hotel with great pool and beach access. You have to pay for loungers on the beach but it’s worth it.
It says the tap water is not drinkable so it would be nice to have some complimentary bottles of water in the room. But otherwise I love this hotel and will go back next year

Nice hotel but with issues

We stayed 4 nights in July.
We arrive at midnight as our flight was late, we were taken up a hill to a be shown our room which was quite a trek as we were so tired. Once we got there, the receptionist hurried over to tell us he had given us the wrong room. We trekked back and up the stairs with luggage, only to find this next room had not been cleaned. Finally we were given a 3rd room.
The room itself was comfortable and spacious.
Breakfast is OK, not much choice of hot food. There were flies everywhere due to the open area used for breakfast. If you want omelette/scrambled, you have to pay extra.
One day 2 of our stay, the pool turned green and remained so for the duration of our visit. No apology or explanation was provided.
We were given free sun bed and umbrella because of the issues at our check in, which we used once for a few hours. The 'private beach' is in fact a sandy area by the bar, on a small hill above the actual beach, which is not hotel property.

We had one dinner included in our booking. The starter was ok, for mains I ordered salad...well, it was a collection of leaves with some processed cheese and no dressing. It was on for 18 EURO, but should have been 1.80 EURO.
The man at reception was very helpful and apologised for our room mix up. The ladies at the breakfast were uninterested and looked bored.

Poor decoration, finish was a poor standard, however very clean. Head waiter in restaurant rude to the English customers and to his staff, not engaging or encouraging of his staff.

Quite isolated, restaurant food poor quality and cold. There is another hotel within a 15 min walk, worth a visit along with a couple of other restaurants. Tried not to eat within the hotel.

I don't normally leave reviews.

The hotel has two great restaurants, the staff are very helpful and very good at recommending places to eat and things to do.
However the hotel is dated. The rooms are clean, but the beds are cheap and very uncomfortable. The bathrooms are small and the 20 years old. The holiday was fantastic because the place is great, but I would not stop here again.

This hotel has a great staff!

The staff was really helpful. I had a horrible situation with a \"crooked\" taxi driver who took me on a \"wild goose chase ride\" and wanted me to pay the extra money and I refused. The hotel manager paid the difference, although he should not have but none the less, he was a very polite man as was the whole hotel staff.

A little dated but ok

Hotel is ok but has some issues- room very musty AC not great, no safe, hard mattress. We only stayed 2 nights and met our needs but was very expensive for the quality. Everyone was helpful and pleasant , the front desk gave good advice for places to eat. The breakfast was excellent with many choices no complaints there. It has it's own beach but was not awesome, it needed a clean up but then it was Sept so maybe off season.

Great landscape and outside space; sub-par rooms

Perfectly located near the best of Porto Cervo, with outstanding landscaping, pool and outside spaces. Unfortunately, the size, cleanliness and comfort inside the rooms did not match the outside space or the hospitality of the staff. Unsure it meets the space requirement for being a 4 star hotel, let alone justifying the price charged for one night.

Relaxing Mediterranean hotel with great views.

Very comfortable room and excellent facilities- pool and private beach etc. We thought the hotel restaurant very over priced for the standard of cooking- Michelin star prices, but not Michelin standard cooking. It is a kilometre or so out of town, so if walking into town, take a torch!
The town attracts the jet set, so prices very expensive compared to other areas of Sardinia

The hotel is quite good and I would recommend to anyone going to Sardinia. The staff (Alessio in particular) have been PHENOMENALLY helpful and friendly.
It's got its own private beach but that's not necessarily an advantage because beach-hopping is THE way to experience Sardinia. Also, the public beaches are better than the hotel's.
Location is quite close to all the attractions so that's a plus.

Our time at the Grand

Arrived after 9.30pm and wasn't expecting to check in and be in time for dinner but reception phoned the restaurant and made a reservation. Overall the location is excellent , stunning views , beautifully kept grounds, various pools , apart from the main, dotted around the resort. It is within walking distance of the new marina and some local restaurants (uphill on return) . Hotel puts on a daily bus to and from old marina. Restaurant was good most of the time but was disappointed a few times . Breakfast was always excellent.We had a superior room which meant we had breakfast in upper restaurant whilst looking out to sea. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Bedrooms would benefit from updating but didn't spoil our time here.

Although we loved our stay at this beautiful hotel in Porto Cervo, we must be honest about the food we had. It needs improvement. Some of the foods we had on the dinner menu didnt have the quality of being freshly made. The menu did state some of the food made be frozen which was unusual for such a higher class hotel but some of the items were tasteless, and tough. However, the breakfast buffet was very good. We would very much like to stay at the hotel again as it very beautiful and everything else was perfect.

Beautiful hotel with artistic design and excellent value on the Costa Smeralda

The Costa Smeralda is on the north east coast of Sardinia and was developed by the Aga Kahn in the 1960s. It is a place where many wealthy international people like to vacation. It has a town center complete with boutiques, a large harbor for yachts, great restaurants, and the area has ultra-deluxe hotels. A James Bond movie was filmed in one of these hotels. The scenery is stunningly beautiful, and although the area has grown enormously since its conception it has continued to be controlled by the Aga Kahn so that it is not spoiled. The Grand Hotel in Porto Cervo, is NOT in Porto Cervo, but about five minutes away by car. It is affordable and we were very pleased with our experience there. We loved the pool, and the openness of the scenery, the architecture and layout, and it has its own beach. A rental car is definitely a necessity to get around to the center of Porto Cervo and all the wonderful locales. I would recommend this area to people with sophisticated tastes.

Grand Hotel in Porto Cervo - greatest food ever

Fantastic food as part of superior room accomocation half board. HB inludes dinner and breakfast at the Orange restaurant which has incredible consistent high quality with daily changing specials. Even when not at the hotel I would recomment eating there. For beach lovers the situation is just OK, the beack is quite narrow and there is a noticeable sulphuric smell from the lagune. Beach service is EUR30 a day in August and EUR 25 in September. Having a car is mandatory to make excursions and go to other beaches. It's not a beach where you want to spend days and days. \"Superior\" rooms do not have much comfort and do not have a sea view. You can see the sea by stepping on the terrace. Even though the hotel is still listed on the Nikki beach website, Nikki beach does not exist at the hotel any more. The furniture is still there and makes a very relaxing extended bar area, perfect to chill out during the day or at night. Booking through Expedia made us good savings compared with the advertised list price. Other travel agents also serve this hotel.

Wir sinnd sehr kurzfristig für einen Kurzurlaub entschieden. Hotel ist in Ordnung mit nettem und zuvorkommenden Servicepersonal mit vielen Liegen am Pool und einem schönen Strand mit hevorragendem Strandrestaurant.
Getränke und Essen relativ teuer.
Schöner Abendspaziergang nach Porto Cervo, sehr zu empfehlen.
Shuttlebus leider nicht vorhanden.
Kommen aber gerne wieder.

A estrutura do hotel é ótima, o café da manhã ótimo! Mas a equipe da recepção é mal-humorada, destreinada e sem empatia. Tivemos alguns episódios lamentáveis. Com grosseria, descaso. Nos deixaram no porto com 4 crianças e1 idosa, esperando um táxi que nunca chegou. E a atendente da recepção desligava o telefone na cara do meu marid, por 5 vezes consecutivas, pra não ter que nos ajudar a resolver. Esse foi o pior dos episódios, só pra exemplificar.

La atención por parte de el personal del hotel es buena, en el bar de la alberca las chicas son súper atentas y amables, El hotel parece un poco viejo, se encuentra en condiciones que deberían de darle un poco más de mantenimiento, La playa es gratis pero el uso de camastros va desde los 80 euros por un par de ellos al frente Del Mar , el club de playa es privado y se necesita reservar con semanas de anticipación , más atención al baño que está muy viejo las manillas rotas!

This hotel is overpriced. It was outdated and old. The first room we got smelled like moldue. The air condition was old and we could see moldue in the ventilator. We asked for a new room and got one. So that was good. However this room was still old and poor and the madrass had clear stains from beeing wet (mold stains). Glad we only had one night. Would not re-visit.

Overall a bit of a hit and miss in terms of service and a bit offside location in a gated community for jetsetters.

Rent a car as walking to the few nereby restaurants is not safe, lacking pedestrian crossings

The food in the restaurant is mostly good, however be sure to reserve a table as they most of the time do not accept \"walk-ins\". Food wise they try too hard (ie fine dining) and don't execute it well enough, more rustic choices a'la carte would be better.

Our check-in experience was poor. We literally got zero info about the hotel, breakfast times, pool/beachtowels etc (had to discover everything ourselves + no info pamphlet in the room)

Pros:
- Near sandy beach
- Good WiFi
- Great pastas in the restaurant
- Free beachtowels
- Good breakfast
- Baby cots
- Clean

Cons:
- 50% bad service and 50% good service
- Inflexible approach and not customer focused mindset with quite a few of the staff.
- A bit worn down hotel
- Not the best-price value
- A bit off
- Surrounding area is a gated community = not much to see.
- Long and not safe walk to Porto Cervo (35 min)
- Not many good restaurants nearby
