SUNDAY OVERNIGHT STAY

It was our third stay at this hotel and once again we were not disappointed. The hotel is in a quiet area with free parking and there is a riverside walk nearby.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good.
However, being on a Sunday there were no restaurants in the immediate area that were open. We would stay there again in the future.

The hotel is located in an ideal location for great walks in the forest and lakeside. It’s clean and well appointed. Would stay there again but would not fall for the front desk trick! Upon checking in, I asked the reception desk woman if the breakfast was included; she checked our reservation and confirmed breakfast was indeed included. Dropped off the bags and came later in the evening to check in. Again; we asked the night manager if the breakfast was included? The gentleman checked the reservation and confirmed it was… after a 2 night stay checkout; we were charged €76.00 for breakfast. Upon questioning… they refused! This was clearly fraud by the front desk… I’m ok with paying for breakfast… but don’t lie and confirm upon checking in breakfast was included. It’s deceptive and bad business by BEST WESTERN! I have stayed in many of them throughout Europe and particularly enjoyed the one in Avila, Spain. This one in Nantes is a good facility; but the staff is dishonest!

We stayed 7 days here with my family.
Pros:
1) location near the Erdre river and the Chantrerie Park and far from the city.
2) the hotel is well kept and clean.
3) most of the staff members are welcoming and helpful.

Cons:
1) no AC despite the knob on the wall. Some nights were very hot even with the fan provided on.
2) The smell of bacon from the 1 Michelin star restaurant next door in the morning and evening which prevents you from opening the bedroom window.
3) breakfast is good but expensive ($20/pers) for what it is. The main issue is that we found out the price only when we checked out. I didn’t see any sign stating that it was not free and how much it costs.
4) one young female staff member was rude and intentionally unhelpful.
5) far away from the city. You’ll need a car.

Our short stay was generally good but a couple of points. The carpet in the reception area and bedroom was filthy and needs a proper clean. We had a toddler who was walking in bare feet and his feet were literally black after a couple of minutes. Rooms could do with air conditioning and the bath towels were too small.

Just a one night stay but we have stayed there in the past. Very quiet and near the river. Walks nearby. None of the companies restaurants were open as it was a Monday stop over and difficulties experienced in finding anything in the area although the hotel will arrange to bring food in and supplied by outside caterers. Excellent breakfast.

Very nice location. We walked along the river right outside the hotel. The restaurant was closed (it was really off season) but they had a service where meals were bought it, it was pretty good. Helpful and friendly staff, nice, clean and modern room. We were passing through so no idea what was around, but if you need to be in the area it’s a good choice.

The directions were accurate, the check in was efficient and friendly and there was sufficient secure, free parking.
The room was a little smaller than we expected but perfectly adequate and it did have two easy chairs. It was equipped with everything you would expect in a BW hotel and also a Nespresso machine. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean and in good condition. The breakfast was good but the buffet was slow in being replenished and there are simply too many tables & chairs in the space.
It could have got 5* however a couple of things let it down. The separate toilet, although basically clean, was badly stained around the U bend which was surprising in such a recently constructed hotel and stood out from the good condition of the rest of the sanitary ware. There was also the remains of a mosquito smeared across the wall which had obviously eaten well judging by the amount of blood. The tea and coffee was not replenished the next day so the two Nespresso pods we used the first day were it. Likewise the teabags and there was no milk whatsoever. The \"Bio\" roof was a nice \"green\" touch but the outside area was very neglected and as for the spar pool...see the photo!
I would certainly recommend it and would happily stay there again (but bring some milk and tea bags!) due to its lovely, calm location with good riverside walks, friendly staff and the fantastic gastronomic restaurant next door. It just needs a little more attention to detail and checking.

Comfortable and quiet

The hotel small and intimate at the end of a small road leading to the river bank.It was very quiet and just to our liking. One bonus is the free parking. Rooms very comfortable and came with Nespresso machine and a mini bar. The buffet breakfast was excellent with freshly squeezed orange juice (you do it yourself!) and local honey and conserves. We had an enjoyable 3 night stay.

Booked in for one night on return trip to UK. After an 8 hour drive to get there was told there was no room availability to dine that night, only option was room service. Wonderful receptionist receptionist booked table at nearby restaurant, (it was my birthday).
The room was small with no a/c, it was a hot and uncomfortable night.

Pokey room. Paid extra for Lake View but lake barely visible. Air conditioning useless, airless room. Offered lower price on check-in, but when it came to pay this was denied. Given discount of cost of one breakfast when complained, but this not adequate in my view. Could have booked a superior room two days before our visit for 75% of what I paid and cancelled my booking - wish I had. Best feature are the two brilliant gourmet restaurants close by. Eco friendly design.

No food at the inn...

This was not good value for money. Tiny bedroom for the price paid. When I arrived I had to wait 10 minutes to be checked in because the receptionist was also the bar server and the room service waitress (she was extremely nice and helpful, but clearly overworked). I wanted to book a table at the hotel restaurant but was told it was full. In spite of being a hotel resident I was not guaranteed a table because the restaurant is a separate legal entity to the hotel. Therefore the information on this website is inaccurate. I was instead offered a room service menu and informed that this was not freshly cooked. I ordered if because I had no choice, but the food was inedible. The bedroom was ok and it was clean, however I know this area quite well, and compared to other hotels this was very poor value for money for such a basic accommodation.

Cool place!

I love this hotel, people say it looks like a prison, I think it looks like a castle. I didn't have time to see anything but everything about it is great. Service and people were nice, breakfast was terrific. The restaurant next door has fantastic french cuisine. Much recommended. The only downside is that it is far away fro everything, like grocery store, shopping or sightseeing. If you have a car then that is fine.

The hotel was in a beautiful location and after a seven hour drive we were looking forward to a relaxed evening. We were asked if we intended to eat at the hotel and we said we would unpack and decide in a short while. When going back to reception we were told that the restaurant was fully booked but room service was available. We tried to order the restaurant meal of the day but none of the restaurant meals were available only chilled meals that they had in the fridge.
As the hotel was miles from any restaurants and we did not want to drive we were offered telephone numbers of takeaway pizzas or sushi.

Nice hotel spoilt by ridiculous prices

The hotel itself is very nice and the rooms are lovely, unfortunately the experience leaves a sour taste when you go to the bar and have to pay 10 euros for a pint of beer.
It's 55 euros each way into Nantes, so you are a captive market, exploited I would say.
It's a shame because everything else is spot-on.

Beautiful modern Hotel hidden in a small village. Very close to the river, with good country walks.
Very helpful staff, who we obviously proud of their hotel.
Superb restaurant with a wide range of prices from EU21 to EU55 for a three course meal. A very good wine list, sold by the glass or bottle.

This is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location within a stone's throw of a beautiful river. The hotel staff were attentive - I wanted to practise my French and so when I explained this to the receptionist she spoke to me clearly in French checking that I understood everything. We had a nice breakfast - it was very fresh, lots of choice and lots of it.

The hotel has a boutique, intimate feel. We would definitely recommend it and will probably go back again next year.

This was a stopover from Chaumont sur Tharonne to Britanny in France. Excellent from start to finish. Easy to find, but we did have a sat nav. Arrived before room was ready so asked to come back in about an hour, not a problem. We were booked in whilst waiting. We went for a walk around the lake? very pictureseque, chateau opposite. Came back and had a drink in the bar, not too expensive. Our room key was bought to us when ready. ALL staff spoke Excellent ENGLISH and were very sincere and helpful. Room was excellent, modern and spacious. We were on the ground floor so we were able to open the patio door to bring our things in direct frm the car. We went to the reception to ask for a fan and before we got back to the room it had arrived. Same when we asked for more milk. Elizabeth, Ovlianne and the male trainee manager all stood out and I told them so. Breakfast had plenty to choose from. (12E) as this was not in our package, so if you can include breakfast in your package. Only downside was there wasn't a lot of room betwwen the seats at the tables so it was a bit of a squeeze if all were in use. Would definitely recommend

the Hotel de le Regate has excellent facilities nearby such as wonderfull walks, and is very quiet at night because of its rural setting. It is also very near Nantes if one wishes to explore this city. The food is excellent and well worth sampling, making a visit to the restaurant a most.

A pleasant and modern eco hotel in quiet surroundings

We weren't sure what to expect when we booked this hotel, having looked it up on google street view it did seem to be a little out of the way. We were pleasantly suprised when we arrived, the hotel is new and the staff were excellent.

Getting there was easy but we did wonder if we were going the right way when we passed a university campus and business park, the hotel is actually in a the hamlet of Gauchet, we missed the entrance at first and proceeded to the turning point 50m down the road, well what a suprise to see a stunning Chateau across the bank of the river!

The room was perfectly fine (room 112), at the back of the hotel at the end of the corridor overlooking the hot tub. The shower was Excellent with both a power shower and a drench! It also had the usual mod cons: safe, lcd tv, free wifi etc.

The breakfast area is open plan which leads to the bar area which is nicely decorated but lacks any ambiance and is right next to the reception desk. It's fine to have a swift one but you wouldn't want to spend the evening in there.

It was nice to enjoy the location walk along the river on an evening.

Overall we liked the eco credentials, there should certainly be more hotels with kind of ethos. Happy to recommend, if, like us, you don't spend all day in your hotel then its a perfectly peaceful place to rest your head for a couple of days.

The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and included parking for guests. The bathroom and shower facilities were excellent- spacious and with great water pressure! The hotel is located quite far away from Nantes city itself, so this hotel is more appropriate for those driving. Breakfast is not included but is offered- be careful to ask how much it is.

Bon hôtel, bon accueil, au calme, environnement charmant, bonne literie, propre. Un rafraîchissement des chambres serait nécessaire (moquette et fourniture vieillissantes). Le petit déjeuner est très bien (chaud et froid) en revanche le service est un peu lent (approvisionnement) donc il manque régulièrement des choses. Il n'y a pas de climatisation, à savoir en cas de canicule. Le parking sécurisé est plein rapidement mais il y a de la place en extérieur (non sécurisé). Si vous dormez fenêtre ouverte, pensez à prendre un produit anti moustique pour la nuit car l'hôtel est proche de la rivière.

Una e' stata addebitata al check in ,avvenuto nel tardo pomeriggio di venerdi 4 ottobre,il sabato 5 non ho usufruito della colazione ma mi e' stata addebitata,mentre il giorno 6 correttamente effettuata ed addebitata.
Al momento del check out incapacita' di risolvere il problema e poca conoscenza della lingua inglese pur lavorando in un hotel dove la lingua inglese dovrebbe essere eccellente e ,dopo aver fatto notare la cosa ,mi veniva risposto che io non parlavo Francese.
Scegliendo un certo tipo di hotel lo si fa per avere un certo tipo di servizio ed il personale non si deve permettere di rispondere in modo ineducato al cliente ,soprattutto non essendo neanche la persona piu' qualificata nel ruolo.
Ho ricevuto una mail di scuse con il rimborso di una sola colazione al posto delle 2 spettanti dimostrando, ancora una volta, la scarsa attenzione alla gestione.
Che dire, pazienza la colpa e' mia che,come al solito,pago senza guardare prima la ricevuta cosa che ,in Francia,imparero' a fare.

L’hôtel est très bien situé et facile d’accès. Bien intégré dans les environs, sa décoration est moderne et chic.
Notre séjour s’est très bien déroulé et nous avons pu profiter de deux belles chambres calmes et contiguës. Les lits sont confortables et spacieux, les salles de bains bien équipées. Nous avons également pu profiter d’un petit déjeuner sain et équilibré grâce au large choix offert.
Enfin, le personnel est disponible et souriant, facilitant ainsi la réussite de notre séjour.

Surprise à réception de la facture : petit dej cher (19€/pers) et facturés pour 2 jours alors que pris 1 seul jour .
Globalement facture élevée par rapport à la prestation et comparativement au Mercure précédent à Vannes au même tarif en chambre supérieure vaste et ultra confort ….(et petit dej à 12,50€ !! (Et toutes chaîne canal et bein)

Chambre donnant sur le parking, bruyant, pas de possibilité d'ouvrir les fenêtres. Le bains à remoue condamné depuis plus d'un an malgré ce qui est affiché sur le site internet.
Personnel pas très avenant et loin de tout, pas de restaurant aux alentours à part un restaurant gastronomique chére et complets.

Aucune chambre climatisée.
Pas de mini bar en chambre pour tenir une bouteille d'eau au frai ou de de réel service de restauration tel que pourtant indiqué dans la présentation.
Service sympa, on a réussi à me trouver un ventilateur.
Reste que même en 3* ce serait difficilement acceptable alors dans un établissement qui en annonce 4 ....
Séjour très désagréable et en tous les cas pas à la hauteur du niveau annoncé.

Hôtel exceptionnel dans un écrin de nature

Quelle belle surprise que cet hôtel , situé sur les bords de l’Erdre, il conjugue le côté cosy , les chambres sentent bon, le petit déjeuner excellent , l’accueil très agréable et les conseils pour le restaurant l’auberge du vieux gachet à 500 mètres au bord du lac excellent ! Restaurant avec une qualité incroyable
Bref je reviendrai dans ce lieu paisible hors du temps .

calme et confortable, bien situé si vous aimez vous balader au bord de la rivière , par contre c'est loin de tout , pas de proposition de restauration sur place ( covid ? ) à part le restaurant gastronomique devant l'hotel , il faudra reprendre la voiture , 10/15 minutes de Carquefou je vous conseille la brasserie place de l'église. Les abords du parking sont clairement négligés avec les travaux.

Das erste Zimmer musste wegen unzähliger Flecken in der Bettwäsche und einem Handtuch gewechselt werden. Im neuen Zimmer waren sowohl die Seife als auch das Duschgel leer.
Die ‚Klimaanlage‘ ist nicht wirklich eine Klimaanlage und macht tatsächlich fast garnichts. Der Kühlschrank war aus und roch sehr unangenehm.
Das Frühstück ist mit 14€ wirklich sehr hoch angesetzt für das gebotene. Die Zimmer haben sicherlich schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Auf dem Hotel Gelände ist derzeit eine Baustelle, an der ab früh morgens gearbeitet wird. Für mich definitiv keine 4 Sterne wert. Erst die Nacht zuvor habe ich in einem 3 Sterne Best Western übernachtet, das diesem allem überlegen ist.
