If you are looking for a hotel for a beach vacation, the Savoy will work for you. It is right across the street basically from the magnificent Tel Aviv beach. But it also has the vibe of a beach hotel, there are dirty public areas I suppose may be hard to keep clean. The place is a bit worn in general.

There are some wonderful features like a rooftop patio overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and a pretty decent breakfast for a hotel of this size size. Made to order, omelettes, salads, but no fish and very little pastry.

Bedrooms are small and it’s hard to walk around the beds. But they do have some nice elements, like a mini fridge, safe, iron and ironing board as well as very high-end toiletries.

I stayed here six nights, and if you are looking for a hotel to be your retreat from a busy day of sightseeing in Israel, I would not recommend it. There are little changes the hotel could make, like having a multi setting showerhead in the shower, and adding a nice chair to sit in. My room only had a desk chair. Israel is a casual country and so if you are looking to, I have a room to relax in then you need to up your budget.

The balconies in the pictures are mostly ones that you cannot sit on. You can kind of stand there, but why would you?

This next item is not a big deal, but there was no recognition of the Expedia VIP hotel thing. Even after I mentioned it to them. Don’t know how they would offer two free drinks anyway, since there is no bar in the hotel.

Well, it's very close to the beach, but not as pictured. The property itself is in a pretty tired condition, our bathroom door was rotted, the air unit cooled very well but the humidity was terrible, places badly needed painting and caulking. It always felt like the sheets were damp. The staff was friendly enough, the breakfast was very good.

The hotel was everything we expected it to be--clean and comfortable--though our room could have used a second soft chair. Tel Aviv is a mixture of newer buildings--like the Savoy Hotel--and old run-down ones many of which are covered in graffiti. The Savoy is in the midst of both kinds of buildings. However; it is easy to overlook the graffiti-covered buildings because the hotel is so close to the Mediterranean Sea. We would gladly stay here again.

This is a great place in a great location. Hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Rooms are simople but clean. The bathroom supplies are from Loccitane which was very nice touch. I was planning to skip breakfast at first but then found there great salmon and pastry and enjoyed it together with fresh coffee. Staff was very nice, the only thing I’ll say it is the common areas are quite aged, but it didn’t affect my stay at all.

It’s a beautiful area with a very short walk to the beach. The atmosphere is boutique hotel that was probably impressive 10-20 years ago. It is a noisy area and the walls are not as sound proofed as Americans may be accustomed so maybe wear ear plugs at night. If you are expecting or desiring an Israeli style breakfast that is over the top, don’t. It is a very nice breakfast with beautiful and delicious foods with a nice variety but that’s it.

Now for the overall condition. It needs a facelift. Wallpaper damaged and bottoms of doors have deteriorated. But overall, the value for the money is there and the atmosphere and service is higher than what I’ve experienced at similarly priced hotels.

The Savoy is a great alternative to the big-box tourist hotels on the Tel Aviv beachfront. And at half the price. Just a block from the beach, it attracts mostly Israelis coming for a beach vacation. Love the small boitique hotel and the location is amazing. Beach ia across the path although ee ahd a small room with a poor view it didn't bother us.

The room was adequate, the air conditioning didn’t work, but as soon as I reported it, a very nice and capable maintenance man arrived at despite the late hour and fixed it. The phone also didn’t work but I didn’t bother to report it. For all I know it was just unplugged. The cold mint water and coffee in the lobby were very nice touches. The location right next to the beach, but in a quiet side street, easy walk to Carmel Market and all attractions was unbeatable. The Israeli Grill, a minute away, on Allenby for huge laffa schwarmas was our favourite place for takeaways on the beach and hunger busters. Sorry, I only gave one star for eco friendliness because those little bottles of toiletries are so wasteful and should be replaced by large refillable pump packs in the bathroom. I know Israel has bigger problems than recycling, but the plastic waste everywhere really needs a cultural reset.

Hotel itself was in a good location. Room was spacious and clean. However when I checked in I was told that I’d have no issues with late checkout and was given a checkout time an hour later as a courtesy. The next morning, I was told that I wouldn’t be able to get late checkout in the end despite planning my day around this. I also got locked out of my room at 11:30 after being told my new checkout time was noon. Also, I paid for the breakfast which left a lot to be desired. I cannot imagine there are so many tourists visiting now that they couldn’t have shifted things around for me.

I stayed in 4 hotels while in Israel, The Savoy was my favourite for 3 reasons.

The location is unbeatable, the beach is a stones throw away.

The team were fantastic, very friendly and accommodating, especially Raphael (apologies if misspelled).

The breakfast was epic. I’m of Turkish origin so am used to a big, varied breakfast. The Israeli breakfast by The Savoy did not disappoint. Loved the tahini and challah.

I can’t wait to return to Tel Aviv and hope to stay here again.

PROS: The staff was wonderful: friendly, helpful & efficient. We were able to check in early, which was much appreciated after our long flight. The breakfast was made to order, as well as a small buffet, & tasty. We had an excursion one day and they prepared breakfast boxes to go for us that were quite impressive. They also provided us a beach bag, water & sunscreen. Top notch service!

CONS:The room was small, but serviceable. The balcony was so tiny as to be unusable (and it faced a parking garage, so there was no desire to).

My wife and I stayed 10 nights at The Savoy. First the positive points. The front desk team was absolutely amazing. Special thanks to Natali. Very conveniently located 1 minute walking from the beach and 15 minutes walk from King George street.

Now the negative. Please note that this is not an inexpensive hotel. The corridors to the rooms on the two floors we stayed (2nd and 6th) had dirty carpets, dishes and glasses left outside for days. We stayed in the first room 204 for 4 nights. The door of the room had to be forced opened and slammed in order to close. The room was dirty and rundown. The closet had a foul smell and the shower was leaking water everywhere. shower handles and towel racks were all loose. The bath and hand towels are old and rough. My wife had to argue with the hotel and the maintenance managers to move us to another room which they refused. Very disappointing interaction with those two. They offered to fix the shower glass which didn’t work. On the fourth night we came back from dinner and the AC started to leak water from the ceiling. Only then they finally moved us to a “better” and cleaner room on the 6 floor. If management treat their patrons with respect, keep up the general areas clean and update/ maintain the rooms The Savoy has potential to be a great hotel.

My wife and I would not stay there again.

Right next to the beach!!! Breakfast was delicious and made to order. A ton of different Coffee options.
The room is nice. The balconies are very small but you can stand out there to see the Ocean.
The bathroom was tiny. The stand up tub shower was very thin and a glass pane only covered half the tub so water goes all over the bathroom floor.
If you can get past the bathroom the rest of the room is great and the AC was awesome given the heatwave we had in July.
Also very close to the Carmel Shuk (market) for tourists shopping. Remember to NEGOTIATE!!!!!

The rooms are smaller than they appear in the photographs, which was slightly disappointing. Mine was a superior room but it was actually quite basic. That said the bed was VERY comfortable and there were plenty of good quality pillows. The staff were fabulously helpful. The roof terrace was pleasant enough but it could have been a bit More comfortable. Location is fantastic. Nice breakfast. Didn’t really understand it but I guess it was traditional Israeli. Coffee available all day and tea and coffee facilities in room. Perfect. English people need to take their own tea bags of course.

Front desk staff were really nice and helpful. However, the facilities and the rooms were terrible for the following reasons: 1) bathroom - bathtub glass screen would not prevent water from entering the floor. After a shower, there would be a pool of water on the floor; 2) the air conditioner does not work well; 3) the TV did not function on initial check in; 4) the room itself is quite small. However, I did mention these things to the front desk and they responded very kindly.

I did not realize the historical significance of the site until reading the plaque on the front of the building. It was a testimonial to the strength and resilience of the Jewish soul to save lives whenever another human being is threatened with bodily harm or death.
