A Walkable Hotel Option

The hotel is within walking distance of the train station, shops and restaurants. We even walked to the medina several times. There is a fantastic restaurant nearby if you need a break from Moroccan flavours called Plus61. The room is spacious but odd, the toilet is next to the front door and the rest of the bathroom is across the entire room. The decor of the room is black and white and the toilet room is tiled completely matte black, it’s a dark and strange. The bed was comfortable and huge, a standard king in North America is 7 feet wide, this bed is 8 feet wide! Breakfast was nice, there’s an omelette station, fruits and salads, breads and eggs. It was good. The restaurant area looks into the pool area, the water was cold, the roof is retractable, we never saw anyone in the pool, it would be awkward to swim with everyone watching you.

Functional, efficient and clean.

Overall, a nice and solid hotel. Did not have any issues and staff was pretty attentive.
Breakfast was minimal but we were about to feed ourselves well before our next trip.

In general, I would recommend staying if you are looking for state without much time in the room. While, the rooms are huge, the inside can be much better.

We checked-in super late and checked out super early, so did not get time to properly feel the vibe.

To summarize: functional and clean hotel

Best Hotel

Best location in the center. Walking distance to bars, restaurants , lounges , coffee shops. Staff were extremely nice and helpful . Lamea the front desk supervisor was professional , helpful and tried to make guest happy . Breakfast was very nice . I defiantly stay again - the only thing that they need to work on the housekeeping . They leave the dirty glasses and don’t leave coffee pads every day .

Rooms were good
demanding more city tax on reception
after lot of discussion with manager finally agreed on same price what hotel.com asked me to pay
make sure u deal with them on day 1
Not very helpful reception staff, i asked them to book a taxi for airport-he said taxi will charge 250MD but i went outside hotel and taxi man said 100MD. he picked us up at 6AM so they try to steal you every penny when possible be careful

We loved this hotel. Great location, super modern. However the reservation system is very poor. We booked several rooms on two occasions and both times the reservations were not correct. The staff were great, the restaurant also but took well over an hour to get food. The hotel is not up to to standard on cleanliness. No toilet paper or towels. Maintenance also poor. Lights not working, blinds broken. This could be a super hotel but need proper management.

All the staff from the door man, receptionist, dining staff, room service, spa and housekeeping staff were all professional, friendly and hard working in their duties. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of fresh food and variety. The room was clean, great AC, quiet, and good location. I would definitely stay at the Bab Hotel again in the future.

Lobby, reception and pool area were nice and clean. However, the room, toilet and bathroom had quite a few broken floor and wall tiles. The balcony door had a broken handle so the door was open the whole night and noice didn't let us sleep much. This was fixed the next afternoon. Towels were getting less day by day in the bathroom. Upon check-out we were told about an outstanding restaurant bill, which we had already paid in cash. We were also asked to pay for two minibar items that we actually did not touch. Receptionist called the person who was attending the restaurant that day and he admitted he had taken the money and still billed us on the room... I wouldn't be surprised if room service used the minibar on our behalf.

Good stay, banging Pina Coladas, a Riad next time?

Staff were friendly and accommodating! Clean rooms. However Spa and roof top was under construction.. In our rooms, the toilets were completely separate and on the other side from the shower and bath, I did not mind this. Rooms were spacious. Hotel is 5 minutes away from a mall.

The best was the bathroom n the bed but terrible toilet cracked floor bed corner dangerously sharp
The worst was a extremely noisy demonstration against the hotel for all the week from 9am to 5pm
I complained to the hotel manager Fatima and requested some compensation she offered that they can only offer 50%off when we return again
Also the roof terrace was closed and so was the spa
I will be grateful for a full refund for the hotel stay

It’s not soundproof at all. Windows and doors to street allow all sounds. Doors to hall u can hear everyone speaking and walking. Rooms were clean and had good features. Dining menu was ok not extensive. Very very central in gueliz only minutes walk to everything in gueliz. Did not need car.

No WiFi .. even after upgrading to a suite!

I had a lot of issues with the WiFi, although I payed extra to upgrade my room, I didn’t have WiFi the whole stay. It only worked in the lobby or connected to the hotel across the street and yet it was too poor to allow me to use it. After noumerous of times complaining, and telling me they will get on it...it was not fixed at all that I gave up and bought a SIM card to connect with my husband and kids back home. Will not be staying there again!

Good, but it could have been better.

The room was not what we thought we had booked. The staff told us that this was a deluxe room and take it or leave it. Not good value for money, the mattress also was too hard. There were only two working TV channels, not English speaking, which soon became too fuzzy. They repeatedly promised to fix it, but never did. There was no internet connection in the room and the last days not in the lobby either. It was noisy during the evening because a very good and famous restaurant was across the road. Some of the staff were very friendly and they sent a birthday cake to our room. There was no parking and we had to park the hired car in tight spaces and pay a different fee every day.

Room was great - clean, cosy, large, and they had gone above and beyond with our special request as well.

One complaint though: the breakfast was not organised at all. Out of items quick (there were not even 10 people eating), lack of staff around to help, very small selection of food.

Strange set up of the room.

Toilet was very small and had no water tap. Shower and sink were located on the other side of the room. That seems a bit strange. Other wise the room was tastefully decorated. Blinds were not properly setup so the sun would be on you early enough.

Nice hotel, but could be a lot better

BAB Hotel was not quite what i expected. The decor is very contemporary, and a bit mismatched. Didnt make much sense to me.
There is an indoor pool area next door to the reception. I never saw anyone using it. Its in the shade, and looks very cold. If you're looking to lounge by a pool for a week, this is not the hotel for you.

We were greeted by a doorman and receptionist. Check in was very simple, and we were given a welcome drink.

We booked the Senior Suite. Our room was exactly as shown in pictures. Very spacious with 2 balconies.

Breakfast at this hotel is very limited. They serve the same food everyday, and definitely could do with some improving.

Bab hotel, overall was ok. I would book again as the location was great, we had a mcdonalds at walking distance, and our room was perfect.

The plumbing could be improved

I booked for 2 nights. First night the room had unbearable bad smell from the plumbing. Water leaking from the bottom of basin to the floor. They sent in technician to check and I had to ask for some room incense to kill the smell otherwise can't breath. Wasted almost 2 hours to sort this out at night, didn't manage to rest until mid night because of this. Second night was fine as they had changed room for me. Took a small bottle of mineral water from the minibar and it cost €6/60Dhs which I think it absolutely overpriced consider I know the same bottle cost 3Dhs in the Carrefour across the road.

Very happy with my experience. I was in Marrakech for our wedding anniversary and the hotel staff managed to get me some beautiful flowers and a delicious cake at short notice - placed in the room as a surprise when we got back in the evening.

Rooms are clean, beds huge (I had the deluxe room) and breakfast was good with plenty of Moroccan style items.

All staff were super friendly but then again, Moroccans are all friendly people.

Poor start, poor finish and average breakfast

Room not ready even we arrived 2hr and 30 minutes after check in time.

Made to wait 2 hours for room (junior suite) cleaning and still not ready, me, my wife and little child too tired, disrupted our plans for the rest of the day. I asked to complementary cold drinks for me and baby which I was told will be given but promise not fulfilled.

Had senior suite available but not offered as a goodwill gesture until I nearly shouted that why room was not ready

Then offered to have senior suite for one night only, I refused to move between rooms during stay and pressed ahead and after 15 minutes of heated conversation was offered senior suite.

Advertised that hotel provides parking for car but it doesn't and everyday I had to pay for parking to the guardian. Worst of all when this issue was brought forward, every day and every night staff kept changing the statements about parking spaces provided by the hotel. I asked for manager which was never available.

Advertised that hotel offers in room breakfast free but was charged for it.

English language must be learnt if having international guests but was not up to the average standards.

Great stay,initially booked 1 night but stay 3, then travelled for 2 days and returned for 1 last night before departing. What ever you require,,they do the best. I requested a private taxi for outside of Marrakesh and my tours were super also thecost. Rooms are exactly how I like and even changed rooms not because of quality, just wanted to see how others were. The Baby hotel is on my list when I run to marrakesh

Brilliant botique hotel.

I stayed at one of their Junior Suites, there was amples of space, a superking size bed, a wet room with two over head showers and a balcony. Was absolutely brilliant to come from outside and retire everyday

The room service was brilliant. The rooms where made clean everyday; something you would expect from an upmarket hotel. The breakfast buffet was an absolute treat. Fresh food made everyday and a lot to choose from. As a matter of fact, I tried everything there and it was all upto quality standards.

And lastly, the staff. The staff are so wonderful, so friendly, so welcoming and greet you everytime they see you. The tall man with glasses who does the morning shift in the breakfast bar and his chef where really friendly. And finally, look out for Salah, the multilingual guest relations persons. He was very friendly, very helpful and very well educated. Made our experience in the hotel a worthwhile.

To summarise, this hotel is fabulous.

Generally the hotel was nice but all the fixings in the room were dodgy ,the handle on the balcony was broken & fell off ,I reported it but never got fixed ,I also looked out onto a dump which wasn't the best ,my wife almost got done out of 100 dirams but noticed so the guy behind the bar gave her it ,apart from that the hotel was ok ,staff were generally pleasant & helpful,food was fine & rooms were cleaned to a good standard daily ,hotel is located centrally just a few streets away from good restaurants,there's quite a lot of beggars & homeless people which can make you feel uneasy at times but generally don't bother too much ,I went for a week but would only go for a few day if I ever went back

Fantastic hotel, value for monry

We were really pleased with our choice of hotel. On a quiet street, but turned out to be in a great area with lots of shops, cafes and some good restaurants nearby. The room was fabulous for the price and the bathroom great too, with huge raindrop shower. Great small balcony. The complimentary breakfast was spot on, omelettes cooked to order, coffee, juice, pastries - all great. Only 2 small downsides - I don't think they should put rugs in rooms if they do not vacuum them, and the sky bar was closed when we stayed, although you could still sit on the roof terrace. overall, a fabulous stay, would recommend - though it helps to speak some French!

A good location in the new city; reasonable rates in the off-season; a clean room; helpful staff, mostly fluent in French and competent in English. The room was clean, and the decor very modern, with 360-degree mirrors, for example in the shower. The light switches didn't make any sense. Otherwise, no complaints.

Travelled in December 2015. If you are looking for a Moroccan feel this is not the hotel for you. Very European style hotel. Lovely settings and seating area by the fire. Staff were very friendly and helpful. However breakfast lacked variety and was the same everyday. Omelettes were made fresh on demand and tasted amazing! The showers were really weak! No power to it.

Hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to all the shops including McDonald's, Zara, H&M and KFC.

Souks with the more traditional feel and atmosphere is a short cab ride away. Maximum 10 minutes with traffic.

Overall good hotel and would definitely go back. WiFi worked in room and lobby. Was a bit slow but worked fine. Security outside every day.

Dream Stay at BAB Hotel

WOW WOW & WOW what a Hotel , we been to many 4 & 5 star hotels but never had experience of this level of service i mean you just call reception for anything and you put your phone down and knock on the door at any time of the day service level was beyond imagination the Reception manager Radwan was eagerly keen for the service and was very professional with courtesies attitude, really what ever i right is not enough to explain the level of service they provide, Standard room with balcony is BIG with royal style bathroom perfect air con, location is modern guliez area bit away from Madina 20-30 minutes walk if you up for it or 20 Durham taxi ride,Breakfast is ok could be better fresh juice and fruits are tasty,had a memorable time and will stay if we back to Marrakesh

Fake people they lie to us

We rent 3 room me and my 2 mate the hotel receptionist called me and say that there is water lik in my room when we went back to hotel we realise that they fake it and lie to us just to give my room to other person and ask me to sleep in same room with my friend finally I found it the truth . And they try to apologise to us by giving me suit but this people are very very Dogy people accept soukian she try here best to be nice to us but the manager very unprofessional he should go and work in McDonald's not even he can do that . For me the best person was security guard Mohamed

Amazing hotel and stay

Everything was wonderful except the service was slow at the hotel's restaurant and Sky Bab bar. Make no mistake, it was all luxurious but to wait almost 20 min for their own house cocktails was a bit too much.

Other than that steps away from the center and medina, amazing front desk staff, beautiful clean and spacious rooms. Anyone going to Marrakech needs to stay here.

We stayed at the Bab hotel for a week in a standard room. The room was very spacious, the bathroom was modern with a great shower and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The hotel offered a breakfast buffet which was plentiful in variety and offered freshly cooked eggs of your choice. The rooftop bar was lovely and the spa was reasonably priced and had a relaxing atmosphere. On the whole I would say it's a great hotel and in an ideal location for exploring both the old and new areas of Marrakech. The only downside was that, there wasn't really anywhere to sunbathe apart from two loungers on the roof and although there is a pool, it is a small plunge pool situated on the ground floor!

Stayed here last week and it was just perfect. Was at a riad earlier but after seeing to much of the wildlife moved to the city and this hotel was the perfect getaway.

Hotel reception: Very artistic and has a special vibe to ti that gives it a cozy boutique feel.
Rooms: I had a chance to see and experience all 4 room types: Standard, deluxe, Junior suite and the executive suite. All 4 hit the good books but if you want more from your room, start with the deluxe as it is spacious with rainfall shower and a separate additional shower-head in a very large bathroom.
The bed is really comfy and the design of the room is fantastic with a balcony as well. The Suite is similar to this and just larger. The executives are equipped with multiple toilets, extra sofa bed and is simply large and amazing on the 5th floor.

Bar upstairs was really cool.
Swimming pool on ground floor a nice dipping pool. Many restaurants in this street and 2 that made my Marrakech top 10.

Staff are very good and helpful, do brush up on your French and Arabic though for faster service in the non busy hours. Overall this place rocks and is easily found by taxis, in a nice location, breakfast is good, and I will stay here again.

Average hotel in a good location

Location is great. Facilities are not that great as it's listed for 4.5 star. Breakfast was shockingly poor as it's not a 'continental' buffet as promised. Room itself was great although could have done with having brighter lighting. And brighter lighting in the toilet that's seperate from bath room and it had no sink to wash hands and had to walk across room to bathroom to wash hands. Nice balcony terrible view. Beds clean comfy. Room itself well presented n elegant. Bath brilliant with 2 sinks bath tub n seperate shower. Smart plasma n good wifi. Disappointed with pool. Didn't even see gym and no clear indication of room service or other option for excursions organised by hotel. Overall low score as I did not feel I was experiencing a 4* or more. Nice Hotel

Hotel was nice, we only stayed overnight before leaving the country for our next journey. Location seemed OK, was not in a busy area although there was construction happening next door so the banging and drilling when we arrived and checked into the room was annoying. We had to wait for the receptionist to appear, I think we waited in the lobby for about 15 mins before she showed up and we did arrive at a reasonable hour, just before 12PM. She could have appeared more happy and helpful as we did not really receive much assistance from her.

Great location

This hotel was a goop recommendation so I had very high expectations. The hotel is actually just ok. The bed was as hard as a rock but the room had a very modern look. It was clean. One of our bathroom sinks didn't work and the rain shower was pretty lame. Overall this place has a superficial cover of hip. There is no room service or food except the breakfast buffet in the AM. But there are some of the best restaurants in Marrakech in walking distance. The Italian place across the street is romantic and the food is fabulous. Al Fassia, the best Morocain food in town is a short walk. The hotel is also a 5-10 minute cab ride from the Medina, the Marjorie Gardens, etc.

Just made 3, only because of the staff

Must have been nice when it was new - but now it's too old.,Floors need to be changed, water leak in one of the bathrooms, sun chairs broken etc. But the staff was SUPER friendly and helpful and actually made the stay bearable.

Brilliant hotel, nice roof terrace, good bar, very stylish hotel in the new town. It is about 300-400Dhms to get to the Medina from the hotel though or a 30 minute walk. Hotel stafff very helpful and friendly. would stay again. perfect for relaxing as well as sight seeing.

The hotel was very nice, well appointed and designed the rooms were large and comfortable and the bathrooms clean and very nice. It was a boutique hotel outside the old city walls and about a 20 minute walk to the entrance of the old city.

The BAB Hotel has a perfect international standard, and the staff are very friendly and openminded.

We got an upgrade do to a small delay in check inn, and the room was perfect.

Im absolutely coming back to BAB Hotel on my next visit

Hotellet er fint og rent, rommene er store og har balkong. Badet har to servanter og veldig stor dusj. Personalet er hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Renhold er topp, en spesiell takk til en stuepike som jobbet i etasjen hvor vi hadde rom, hun var hyggelig, blid og flink til å rengjøre rommer.

Zeer behulpzaam personeel, alleen de muziek in de lobby was vaak te luid, geen lobby muziek, na vraag om het zachter te zetten, werd daar onmiddellijk gehoor aan gegeven. Heerlijk nespresso op eigen kamer! Schone, ruime mooie kamer en badkamer. Alleen foto's van Andy Warhall (de creep) overal, vond ik persoonlijk storend, maar kon ik goed negeren. Personeel zeer behulpzaam met vervoer naar vliegveld, taxi's met vooraf vermelding van ritprijs. In huis Spa, was niet altijd goed, jammer.

Nous sommes venus dans cet hôtel pourtant bien noté avec pleins de bonnes intentions. Pourtant, service déplorable, ménage fait à 17h30, si on peut appeler ça « fait ». De la poussière partout, les poubelles non vidées. Obligées de laisser la lumière allumée pour que les prises fonctionnent et seulement 2 serviettes pour 3. Wifi inexistante. La douche fuyait tellement que la Sdb était entièrement inondée à chaque fois. Ne parlons pas de l’isolation et des rideaux et stores inutiles et noirs de poussière… bref à éviter fortement !

El hotel y la habitación estaba excelente, cómoda y muy linda. La ubicación es en la zona nueva de Marrakech que te permite cambiar un poco del ambiente tradicional de la Médina y los Riad. Personal muy atento y amable. El desayuno muy completo !!!

Heel vriendelijk personeel, ze helpen je met al je vragen en zijn erg beleefd! Lobby is ook ruim en netjes. Toiletten beneden zien er ook mooi uit.
Ruime kamers, bed en badkamer.
Kamer zelf was wel wat stoffig in hoeken, stopcontacten etc.
In de ochtend wat lawaai overlast van buitenaf, dus dun glas.
Verder een fijn hotel, prima ontbijt en op loopafstand van winkels.
Zwembad ook netjes en een leuk terras buiten!
