Perfect location in the new town and good walking distance to the old town. Breakfast was the same every morning, on a tray! Could be better, but filling. Couldn’t fault the 2 reception staff. They were helpful, friendly, caring and kind. The welcome drink was a nice touch to our room on arrival. Major disappointment was the pool is totally shaded and gets no sun at all throughout the day so we sat on the roof top in our clothes trying to catch some sun on the times we were in. No chill out time could be had there.

Clean, basic hotel for a western standard. Best hotel we stayed at through our travel through south of Morocco with bottom and top sheets. Nice, large absorbent towels. Little dark in the rooms. The design on the arched doors are beautiful, but watch hitting your shoulders. Both restaurants were excellent.

Rude unhelpful staff. No hot water in the evenings. The Manager is the chef at the onsite restaurant so never available to discuss issues with. The AC in our room had to be fixed. Had to step into a very high bath to access the shower. Breakfast - stale bread served.

This was a very nice clean friendly attractive hotel. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The room was very nice. The location is very convenient to everything yet on a quiet side street. The inhouse taxi service was very affordable and convenient. Highly recommend.

Stayed here as an extra night as I had just finished an Intrepid trip. Comfortable hotel in centre of new town, easy access to sights in Marrakech. Really liked the little tapas bar next to hotel, breakfast was nice but would have preferred to choose what I wanted to eat. Overall a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

All the staff from reception, dining, cleaning to shuttle driver were all friendly, helpful. I had been booked in with a tour group and booked this extra day at same hotel at end of tour. What a bonus! Walking distance to everything with a pool and dining room to relax after big day. The hotel arranged airport transfer. Great stay.

It is a bit rundown. The restaurant food was very good but the ambiance was terrible! The average age in the restaurant was 40+ but they were playing very inappropriate rap music with enough f words to make a coal miner blink. Also the volume was stupid loud. To top it off, 2 people at the bar decided to play there own music on top and the host just ignored it.

Excellent by 3 star hotel standards

I will give this hotel excellent within the frame of being a 3 star hotel. By this l mean, it is a top range 3 star hotel. Location is excellent. A few minutes walk from the airport shuttle bus 19 stop. Stone throw from Carre Eden Shopping Centre. Proximity to so many Spas and restaurants. About 50mins walk to Jamaa El Fna in the old town Medina. About 15mins walk to Train Station and Supratours Coaches to all over Morocco. Wifi is good on my floor. Breakfast is ok by 3 star hotel standard. Room cleaned daily. Reception fluent in English. You have to pay extra if you want to use the safe in the room though l did not use it. If you like swimming in the pool, please note pool is small but l am not much of a Pool person, so okay with me. Don't waste your money on airport taxi. Just board Bus 19 for just 30dhirams or 3 euros and it drops you at Carre Eden Shopping Centre which is less than 5 minutes from the hotel. You can use same ticket to travel back to the airport if returning within 2 weeks. That is simply 1.5euros each way to and fro the airport. That is cheap. Bus also has wifi. Did not have lunch or dinner at the hotel though there are 2 restaurants on site. I prefer to eat out especially local street foods and there are loads of such everywhere especially if you go to Jamaa El Fna particularly in the evening which is also a behive of activities.

My TV remote did not work, nor on the 2 nd night did my AC. Maintenance staff eventually found new batteries for the remote. However dispite saying the AC was fixed an hr later it stopped again. I’d been offered a room change but at 9 pm couldn’t be bothered so sweltered all night. The toaster didn’t work at breakfast.
The room floor was not cleaned in 2 days.A handle that fell off the cupboard was left there.
There were long black hairs on the bed.
Altogether not a pleasant stay.

Amazing experience front desk sammya and marwaan is the best. Night staff was excellent anis at front desk security hicham made sure I was safe to travel in taxi and gave me full protection. Food is top 5 stars never ate outside apart from my home Hamza the chef is better than Gordon ramzi and Micheal olivier and Heston in Spanish gourmet dishes Mr javaid the owner trained his staff to the best level. The breakfast was good. The hotel facilites were basic but clean and comfortable. The hotel is located between the centre of Marrakech and the main railway station and it takes about 20 minutes to walk, from the hotel, to either of the locations. The hotel was quite good value for money.

The breakfast was nice but there was not much variety from day to day. I was also slightly disappointed in the pool- I had seen that it was going to be small but the size and area it was in it wasn't really accessible

The hotel was comfortable and I would definitely recommend it although it can get noisy as the centre is completely open to all floors. There's a lot of door slamming both morning and night and one of the restraurants can get very noisy on Saturday night. Saying this, I enjoyed staying there and we ate in the restaurant every evening. Be careful what you eat as I was very poorly after having the salmon. It takes about 30 or so minutes to walk to the Souk and there is a handy water/crisps/chocolate shop around the corner. I arranged a return taxi through the hotel and thought the service was very good, safe and at a good price. I changed currency at reception, but they didn't always have enough. On the whole it was a good hotel at a great price.

Experience old and new in Marrakech

This was a great find for an affordable price! It is located in the new city, which we rather liked as it gave us a different impression of Marrakech, including a supermarket and shopping district frequented by locals. With that said, we spent each day in the old city which was a pleasant walk. The hotel provided nice respite from the business of the Medina though!

The hotel design was beautiful and the breakfast options gave you much to choose from and changed on a daily basis. Last, the staff was excellent. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming, and the fact that they had a good grasp of English was also very helpful :).

nice hotel close to all new city area links

well i love Starbucks so i had to stay here there's a shopping mall too and the pomegranate juice man sweet like nectar....its in the heart of the new city so everything you need is accessible. The hotel is very charming has a lot of character. if you want modern sleek Hilton hotel don't look here. at first it was a little too charming but i learn to appreciate it its actually very welcoming adds a certain amount of soul to the place. i loved it personally. my only regret i wish i had booked it for all my trip rather then part of it. its not going to be everyone cup of tea but as i said step inside you will transformed to an era in time long gone and unfortunately long forgotten. definitely stay here again service was great reception was always fun banter.

Helpful staff member checked us in quick and printed my boarding pass for me which saved me a big job.

Very comfy beds,

Initially given a double bed despite booking otherwise but this was quickly sorted out.

Breakfast starts at 7 so you can get chance to eat if you have an early flight. The number 19 airport bus picks up just down the road or you can walk to the airport in about 1hr 15 mins.

Didn't check out the rooftop bar or restaurant but they appeared nice enough.

Food poisioning?

Nice room in a decent location with a popular restaurant. Unfortunately a number of our party of 12 got quite ill apparently from eating at the hotel. Wife and I were confined to the hotel room for a day and a half with travelers diarrhea. The only common dish we had eaten was ocean salad at the hotel. At least four others in our group were also taken very ill.

Traditional hotel

By traditional, I mean it is not a sterile glass and marble wonder., so therefore not to everyone's taste. My wife and I loved it, however. While the hotel has seen better days - the tiles are a little worn, for example - the tiling is breauiful. The hotel is cozy and has atmosphere. It is tucked away on a side street off the main drag, so relatively quiet. It is in Guéliz, just outside the old city, and a short walk from the beautiful Majorelle Gardens and the Berber Museum. The restaurant at the hotel serves a delicious tajine!

Fairly average hotel in the new-town area of Marrakech. Everything is fine, but fairly uninspiring. The pool is a nice touch, but a bit on the small side. Rooms are fine (I was in a twin). The letdown was breakfast - having stayed in about 8 hotels in Morocco, the breakfast at Le Caspien was the least inspiring. The Spanish bar/restaurant on the ground floor is good, but draft beer is 50 Dirhams - so close to London prices! Lots of bars and restaurants nearby.

Overall, for the cost it is a reasonable hotel. I would recommend staying in a riad in the Medina if you can rather than the newtown area, which lacks any character. Wifi was good on all floors.

Le Caspien: fairly spartan but clean and pleasant

It's a smallish hotel in a newer part of Marrakesh, close to the old city. Being three star the rooms and facilities were fairly spartan and not very big, but adequate, clean and properly maintained. Floors throughout had traditional Moroccan tiling. Swimming pool was small; not nearly as big as it looks in the photo. There's free WiFi but in my room it was patchy; it was fine in the lobby. The lighting in the rooms was not bright enough, being rather gloomy, and the lights were off on the landings and stairwells at night; you had to turn them on by pressing a time-limited button which turned them off again in less than a minute. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel has a reasonably priced airport bus service.

A good Hotel at a budget price

A good hotel not too far away from the Guilez shopping area and 20 mins. from the airport. The hotel has a pool although it is nowhere as big as the photos suggest, probably about 12 X 8 metres, very clean. The room was a reasonable size for two people although a bit on the dark side, could have done with better lighting, the balcony was big enough for two people to sit on, a table and two dining type chairs provided. We were on a half board package,the food was excellent, a three course meal every night with a selection of three starter, main and sweet. The staff were very friendly, some with very limited English, but most spoke French, but never any problem making yourself understood. The main square and souk is a 30 MAD by taxi (metered) or about 3/4 of an hour walking at an amble. The hotel also has a desk with a very helpful young lady who can sort out any tours for you. Altogether a very enjoyable stay.

We had a short stay here but enjoyed Marrakech. Its a very nice city. Enjoyed the ride in the horsedrawn carriage, enjoyed the Jem Square and we had great weather. Shops were good. Really liked the food.

We needed a hotel for one night (returning from Essaouira in the evening before flying out of Marrakesh next morning). For the price we paid the location was good. The ride to the airport was short with no traffic in the morning (with pre-arranged transfer); the room was clean, A/C - quiet and efficient; good breakfast (included) and free WiFi. For longer stay to explore the old town I'd recommend staying in medina.

We were greeted with tea and small pastries, which was lovely. The hotel is approximately a 30 minute walk to the medina but is a lovely chance to see the city and offers a quieter evening. The bed was a little hard but we still managed to sleep fine and reception was very polite.

Pros: Room nicely appointed, nice beddings, breakfast OK and well served. Bar is OK but smokey.

Cons: Hotel did not have my reservation because their \"office is closed on Sunday.\" (Unbelievable!) WiFi nonexistent in guest room, though decent in lobby. Street noise is considerable due to late night clubs; bring ear plugs. Bathroom is very cramped; towel rack is inside the shower stall-- there is no other rack-- so they will get wet if you decide to take a shower.

Nice cosy find value hotel find in Gueliz

Great value hotel in Gueliz area. Staff are very friendly and helpful which strikes you first about this place. Room is rather on the small side but very comfortable (i.e the bed). Perhaps it could have done with a chair rather than a stool and the windows a little bit bigger. However still very good value for money. The buffet breakfast is definitely worth paying the 15 dirham or so extra for.

Nice cheap hotel

We stayed a full week in the hotel. We used it mostly as a camp base after touring Marrakech. The room was fair size and had a balcony, so thumbs up for this. You could see was not top notch cleanliness, but hey.
The staff people have been quite helpful, apart from someone, like the barman, who took a while to deliver a cocktail in a not-broken glass.

Great location and lovely hotel

Wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. Easy to get to so many restaurants and bars and shopping in the area. The staff are exceptionally friendly and nice. The bathroom in my room was a little smaller than I am used to but it was clean and the room was very very comfortable. The hotel bar and restaurants offer something for every taste and the service is quick, efficient and very professional. I would definitely recommend if you are visiting Marrakech and want to stay in new town.

Perfect location!

Overall our experience was amazing! The staff werevery welcoming, although we didnt use their tourist services they were very informative. People told us staying at a riad Would've been better but honestly I'm super pleased with this hotel. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The best part of this hotel is the location!!!!! Right in the heart of the new marakkech. 20 min walk from the big square ( you wont feel the walk because of the sceneray!) all sorts of resturants are seconds- minutes walking distance. There's a lovely mall 2 min walk! I recommend this place 100%!!

Le Caspien was a nice mix of hotel and large riad, definitely a hotel but with a lot more charm than say, a Travelodge.
Located in Gueliz I'd read that it's a bit far to walk to the Medina from the hotel but we did it twice with a buggy and had no problems.
I asked in the reservation for a cot instead of a child's bed and this was provided on our arrival, the staff were friendly and helpful.
The Cascades d'Ouzourd excursion offered was very good.
We travelled with my 10 week old baby boy and had no problems at Le Caspien or in Marrakech at all.

Quiet location in Gueliz

A well maintained and nicely appointed property with a first rate restaurant on the terrace at the back and excellent services. Multi-lingual staff, clean and quiet rooms and a hot breakfast. Of the places we stayed in Morocco, granted we were in the south most of the time, this was one of the best. There's also a great French-style bakery and a convenience store for bottled water just steps away.

Perfect Location and Delicious breakfast!

My best friend and I stayed at Le Caspien for 6 nights and we enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and spoke English which was also very helpful. Our favorite part of waking up every morning was the breakfast they provided which included: scrambled eggs, pancakes with honey, chocolate, three to four different types of breakfast cakes, lasagna, halal sausage, jam, butter, tea, coffee, moroccon tea
and much more that will fill you up. Their servers are very friendly and hospitable. The location is only 10 minutes away from Jemaa el- fnaa, their city center, and there's a 24 hour Mcdonalds that's always packed near by even at 3:00a.m. in the morning. The area where the hotel is located is very lively and it's actually better than booking a hotel in the city center. I would definitely stay at Le Caspien again.

Good value hotel in reasonable location

Stayed here for two nights - one as part of group and one solo - and it had everything we needed. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful, especially when arranging a transfer on to my next hotel. The room was spacious and even had a little balcony with a table and chairs. Walkable to the main square and the medina (but recommend a taxi back at night), and near to the beautiful Majorelle Gardens.

Needs maintenance

This is an attractive hotel, however, it is neglected. We had no hot water, the water in the shower bubbled up through the floor sink and stayed there until it slowly seeped away. The airconditioner did not work and there was no TV reception.

When asked for another room, the staff refused, so we cancelled the remaining nights that we had booked. Very disappointing.

The hotel whilst it is near town, it is a 40 minute walk away from the main local attraction of Marrakech - the medina.

Good value hotel in excellent location

Hotel provided a very comfortable stay at a good price .Staff were pleasant and helpful, the room was well appointed with good beds and air conditioning. The food served in the restaurant was outstanding, both in presentation and quality. It was delicious! The included breakfast however was only average.

Although the room was OK the bathroom was old & needed updating. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful which made our stay pleasant. The food in the restaurant & the bistro was excellent & we would have eaten there every day if we had not been out sightseeing most of the time!

We stayed a total of 4 nights-2 while seeing the sights of Marakesh, 1 before going on a hiking trek in the mountains and 1 when we returned before flying home. Hotel is about 40 min. walk-along a well travelled main street to the main square/medina/souks and Palace of the old section. 2 hotel restaurants with good food, reasonably priced. Hotel stored our suitcases while we went trekking. Soumiya on front desk was very helpful and friendly.

Lovely hotel, great value for money

We have now stayed at Le Caspien twice and both times we were extremely happy with the hotel, service and location. The hotel has been beautifully decorated to a high standard with many \"traditional\" type features that we love! The staff are mainly very nice and helpful. There are quite a few nice restaurants around the hotel, although there are construction works nearby which you cannot hear.

Ok hotel by Moroccan standards

This is an ok hotel by Moroccan standards. Rooms were clean ans well serviced on a daily basis. The location is good, not far from the hop on hop off bus. The only downside is the nightclub which is next door. Two out of the 3 nights we were here the club was open until the early hours of the morning. There we 100's of scooters parked outside the hotel of the patrons at the club. Image the noise that caused when leaving at all hours of the night,

Pleasant hotel, good location

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel has a nice dining area (outside) where we ate and found the food very nice but we did have to wait quite a while for the food to arrive when the dining area was full. The worst aspect of the hotel was the staff on reception who were not very friendly or helpful and who made a 'mistake' in the hotel's favor when changing money from euros to dirhams. The location of the hotel was convenient enough.

Stayed hereGood Internet access in my room but technically just available in the lobby. Lovely restaurant and bar area. Quiet roof top bar with extra large beers available make it a pleasant place to spend an evening. Food was excellent....group of 12 all cleaned our plates.

No Wi Fi in the rooms, in reception only

The girl at reception claimed not to have received my reservation because it was a holiday. I booked online. Huh? Internet still works when it's a holiday. There is no wi fi in the rooms, you have to come down to lobby to use it. Rather inconvenient. Otherwise the hotel was fine, sufficient for staying over night on my way to desert.

Le Caspien was the starting point for my Intrepid tour, so I decided to book my additional nights in Morocco here also. Very pleased I did. Overall stay was great. Love the late checkout times in Morocco of 12 noon. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. Bathrooms very small (but this is the case throughout Morocco). Clean, comfortable and excellent location. Walking distance to shopping, cafes, gardens and even souqs. Restaurant was reasonably priced and food excellent. Buffet breakfast was excellent, staff always on hand to top up buffet. The set menu included in my expedia deal was 3 courses and I felt a better deal than the a la carte menu. Staff were friendly and provided excellent service. If you don't speak Arabic, but French you'll be set in Morocco.
