The pool, staff and location were great. The lack of pillows on the bed was strange and the shower was really gross. Lots of mold. The first night our room was terrible. Broken closet, shower moldy and leaked all over the bathroom floor. They were very kind and moved us the next day to a larger room.

The Ibn Batouta was a great hotel. The staff were all very friendly, the breakfast each morning was excellent, the rooftop pool and cafe was beautiful, and the rooms (although a bit small) were clean and quiet. The location of the hotel seemed perfect as it was walkable to the popular areas, sites, and Souks. We would recommend this hotel to all travellers.

Hotel is nice, breakfast was ok. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Nearby there is a lot of modern shopping areas with big brands but also you are only a 30 minute walk from the medina. There is a few nice parks in the area too. The room itself was clean except for the shower in the bathroom which had a bit of mold round the grouting. You can hear the calls to prayer quite loudly from the nearby speaker so if youre a light sleeper bring ear buds. We were woken up by people walking around in the hallway area, they werent being loud but we could hear them very loudly because the doors dont seal very well. The Air condition was good and worked well

The location was great, very close to tourist attraction, plenty of Convenient stores and restaurant within walking distance. Staff were welcoming and polite, we were checked in an hour before our check in time, breakfast was nice but not plenty options to choose from we had same thing every morning.The cleanliness of our room wasn't good enough, our room was cleaned every afternoon but the curtains in our bedroom was dirty and dusty, our bed sheet wasn't changed in the 4 nights we spent it was only rearranged, the toilet bin was so rusty, soap dispenser was dirty, we got clean towel everyday but again those towels needs changing. It's an affordable place to stay more or less a 3 star hotel so I'm not surprise but I enjoyed my stay regardless.

I think it would help travelers immensely if booking sites like Expedia start showing property age along side other amenities. First time in Marrakech. Grateful to have stayed at Hotel Ibn Batouta. Gueliz is a great location. It is a short taxi ride to the ever bustling Medina. Yet, it is a little quieter than the busy touristy Medina. Hotel Ibn Batouta is wonderful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They bent over backwards to make my stay memorable. Absolutely loved their helpfulness. There are two swimming pools. One pool is on the first floor next to the restaurant. The second pool is on the rooftop. The staff made my stay just amazing. I asked questions and every staff member was willing to help and advise. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. If I return to Marrakech I will stay in Hotel Ibn Batouta again. Highly recommend.

One of my favorites!
I love this hotel. I’ve stayed at the Ibn Batouta several times during my visits to Marrekesh. Hamza always greets me with a big smile and makes me feel like I’m part of the family. The front desk staff are always very warm and welcoming. The Hotel is in a great location in Gueliz and is very close to great shopping centers and amazing restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very good quality 3 star hotel, it felt more luxurious than 3 stars. Staff really helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast. Short walk to the centre. I would recommend this hotel and I’ll be happy to stay there again. A nice rooftop and pool!. Only negative comment is they don’t sell alcohol.

I want to particularly mention the lady at the front desk. She went above and beyond as my friend had done too much shopping and her bag was overweight and this lady actually repacked her bags and redistributed the weight and weighed the bags to make sure. Such dedication of the staff to help us was so appreciated. Also arranged airport transfer at 3am.

I cannot fault this hotel one bit, me and the Mrs love walking everywhere and everything was within reach, there was a local mini market for snacks and cold drinks right outside, a shisha bare opposite, the main strip just a street behind, access to KFC, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut and other restaurants, 25 min walk to Koutubia Masjid and Jmaa el Fna square (souk) - hotel is very clean, staff very friendly and breakfast delicious, I always ended up making a paratha BLT lol, Moroccan tea is just yum! Room is very clean, bathroom is very clean with a bidet, balcony to hang washed clothes (came handy) and they also printed out my boarding pass for me too! 5* many thanks

The location is great for Gueliz and the Medina, which is only a 20-minute walk away. The rooftop pool area is really nice and the included breakfast has a good array of treats. There’s a second pool down by the kitchen too, which is a cute spot.
Many of the staff are lovely and really helpful, and they made us feel very welcome - especially the bell hop and the breakfast waiting staff. The desk staff aren’t really that interested in helping, but they’re generally polite.

The staff, location and price make this hotel great. We have stayed here many times. The hotel is not luxury, but we have sufficiently enjoyed it. However, this year we felt the rooms are starting to show some wear and tear. They are starting to look a little tired. They could use a refresh of furniture and lighting. The breakfast is still very good and plentiful. Most of the staff who work direct with guests are very friendly and very helpful. Overall, for overpriced Marrakech, this is still a very good medium priced hotel in an excellent location.

Firstly the hotel location and pool/lounge were great. However the rooms were dirty and not clean. On the bed sheets we found long hair on our pillow and had stains on our bedsheets. The hotel staff was mixed, some were nice, some weren’t, some didn’t bother with their job and watch YouTube videos all day. One lady was very difficult at reception. I complained about the iron not working and she made it a big deal. Despite her ordering a new iron her attitude was great when other customers were around, however her attitude was different when I went to speak to her alone. Clearly demonstrates her willingness and attitude was very unpredictable. The 2 gentlemen at reception also said check in was 3 pm when it clearly said 2pm on the booking but we didn’t check in until 3:30pm. A few guys were very nice such as the ones at the top of the pool and in the restaurant. The gentleman at the front door was very nice and welcoming. The other staff at the reception desk should learn from their younger peers. The older man who looked after our bags was very nice and friendly. The cleaning team was also good. Only the reception desk people were different and had bad attitude.

Generally speaking, the hotel was quite nice. My only issue was when it came to check-out, I was told to pay 55 Moroccan Dirham instead of 15 (on my receipt from Expedia, it mentioned that I had to pay a local tax at the hotel of $1.99 CAD, which translates to 15 Moroccan Dirham). I'm not sure why that was the case but it was pretty disappointing overall after what was a remarkable experience. I ended up getting my issue resolved with Expedia but I just want others to be aware of this and have your receipts with you.

Only thing I would recommend is asking for a room away from the road which is so noisy, even during the night….mad. Added bonus was the rooftop pool. We stayed for 6 nights and returned for 2 nights. Upon arrival the hotel presented as very clean, well maintained and the reception staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, good bedding, adequate towels, a room safe, the bathroom was clean and shower and toiletries were very good. Breakfast was continental, reasonable choice, fresh bread and pastries, limited hot dishes. You can order eggs from the waiter, although this is not advertised. About 15 min walk to Carrefour on the way to Koutoubia mosque and souk/medina which is about 25 mins. We did not get hassled anywhere apart from the usual scams in the souk. Beware anyone who wants to lead you anywhere, they will say, \"I am going there anyway, I work there, I do not want money, looking is free\". However, when you get there, there is pressure to buy and your helpful guide definitely wants money. The tanneries are a must to visit, but 'everyone' will want to show you the way. However, they are difficult to find, even with GPS on the phone, as accuracy in the narrow alleyways is poor, and you may well be in a parallel alleyway, which might be a dead end!!! A Great Find in Marrakech
We have now stayed twice here and have booked for another stay. We are seasoned travels to Morocco and Marrakech and it is difficult to find decent, clean quality hotels at a reasonable price in Marrakech. This fits all we were/are looking for. We found the staff wonderful, very kind and helpful. The facilities are not luxury, however they are very very decent for the price you pay. I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel. The rooms are not big, but they are clean, modern and comfortable. The WiFi is very good. Breakfast is also very good.

The hotel is perfectly placed in the city, close enough to both the new and old parts, but on a quiet side road. It is newly refurbished, with modern styling and lovely big rooms. The manager whom we met upon checking in was friendly and the location was good. Breakfast was ok. Nothing spectacular but pretty simple. Luckily we only stayed 3 nights and had the same thing every time. Room was ok. Shower was not ideal. Kept going super hot randomly. Pressure wasn’t great but endurable. Overall the hotel is ok for a few nights if you’re not spending as much time in there. I’d recommend taking the taxi yourself and not one organised by the hotel. They quoted us 150 dirhams which is 15 euros. I managed to get a taxi to the airport for 70 dirhams (less than half) which is 7 euros.

Lovely Hotel in a great location! The staff at Reception were super helpful especially when it came to booking activities (which I would highly recommend, especially the trip to Atlas Moutains, Quad biking and Camel riding which can all be arranged through them) as well as when it came to printing off our boarding passes! The breakfast was amazing and the orange juice was freshly squeezed (outstanding)! Our room was lovely and was cleaned everyday! The only thing I would mention is the shower has low pressure but it was good enough for our 4 day trip! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying In Marrakesh!

All the staff were super friendly and professional. Especially Kawtar on reception. She enabled a smooth check-in and helped with printing an onward travel ticket. The room was spotless. The balcony was perfect to watch the world go by. The aircon was perfect for a chilly evening. I used the restaurant for dinner and the food was amazingly flavoured. WiFi worked well so I was able to get some work done. Also, everything is walking distance.
