For an extended stay the price rate and the overall location were the biggest value add in my experience.(Although the location is quite sketchy at night.) Other than that I was extremely underwhelmed and disgusted with this experience- from the lack of cleanliness in the room, to the lack of central air conditioning to the antiquated look and feel of the \"hotel,\" this was not what I expected upon booking. The pictures online must be highly edited because the room and the pictures do not look the same. I had to pay an additional fee to have my room cleaned, as daily room cleaning and sheet changing is not included in what you are paying for. You are literally just paying for the room itself- every other component that could make your stay more comfortable is an added cost, which in many ways defeats the purpose in saving money with the room. There is also poor ventilation on many of the floors. While there for 7 days, I often came back to the smell of food from another person staying down the hall. I would not recommend staying here.

The hotel doesn't look anything like the pictures, this is a very rundown hotel. The rooms were never cleaned, and if you requested it to be cleaned it would've been for an additional cost. It said on signs around that they would only clean it once a week. The shower wasn't working properly, not even the soap would go out, we had to squish the bottles ourselves to get the liquid out. The bed was two twin mattresses placed together that if you moved too much my partner and I would fall on the middle. The elevator and hallways looked old, not clean and just extremely rundown. Complete false advertisement from the images shown. There wasn't even a place that both of us could sit to eat as they portrayed in images. The closet space was minimal, under the water heater and it was just a quarter of the space in there to hang clothes. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone sadly, it was just terrible.

The area around the hotel is not the nicest, i had some reluctance to go out at night. It's near the stations, but that's the only plus.

You get what you pay for

Didn’t realize the rooms don’t really have air condition - even though the thermostat says “Air Conditioner”. The first night was very hot, even with windows open (however with no screens you have to put the curtains in front of the windows so no bugs (or birds) come in); the second night we were able to get a fan that moved the air around more. Our kettle had a crack in it, we notified the front desk. The room was set up with a portable crib - our kids are older and needed the pull-out instead. The coverlet for the sofa bed had a big stain on it, but the kids never had to use it since it was so hot anyway. One of the hand towels also had small stains on it, but there were plenty of others provided that we just put it to the side. Notified the front desk about both and they apologized. The neighborhood was overall quiet but very dirty with a lot of trash and broken glass and if you walk from the train station (or want to get to the downtown area) like we did on arrival - you have to walk through an area of people living in tents with a sign up that says “Watch your children” - not the most comforting. However, we did figure out the tram system and it’s easy to hop on just one street over from the hotel. Staff was very friendly though and the room was clean, other than the above mentioned coverlet and towel.

Even though we arrived late, the receptionist was attentive and friendly. The process was quick! If you arrive by car, it is better to book the carage from the hotel!
The studio was well cleaned befoure our arrival.

Stay was not that great , had to stay in a room with no AC while it was really hot in grenoble.
Completely congested with no AC . Hotel staff did not even give a room change or refund for 3 days and only on the 4th day i got a room with AC .
I am sure hotel knew that AC was not working in that room and still offered it to me and with no change latter.

A great place to stay. Staff very helpful and friendly and the studios are well equipped with self catering facilities. Keep a lookout for free events and goodies (like fondue!) during your stay.

If you can get a room on a higher floor there are great views of the mountains (rather than the back of buildings!). Gym is very small and basic (one set of dumbells) but sauna is good.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and their English was quite well spoken. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchenette well appointed. The view from my 7th floor apartment was absolutely superb, which was good because I had the window open most mornings and nights (as the air conditioner worked little of the time). My main complaint was that the WiFi was kind of unstable and slow at times

Very clean and spacious with exceptionally helpful staff. Great location for an easy walk into the city centre or jumping a tram. BEWARE though parking in street is a nightmare and although you can rent the car park it is below ground via a lift and our Xtrail only JUST managed to fit in and then to get into or out of parking bays it was a 10 point turn. It is more designed for Ford Focus type sizes

Stayed there this week for a week.

The bed is just a pair of twins pressed together and, if you're familiar with that setup, you'll know that they will separate halfway through the night.

The wifi is only usable from like 10am-3pm. Outside of those hours, you'll be lucky if you get a connection. If you do, it'll drop more than 50% of the packets, meaning, in layperson's terms, that loading webpages, chat, video, etc. are all slow/choppy/broken.

Would not return.

The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was fine.

I could charge my phone using my international adapter, but my curling iron wouldn't work (I had the same problem at The Grosvernor in London, so the problem might be with the appliance).

I do not know the city, so I am not sure about the area.

Do not count on Google to help find this hotel from the train station. It will send you all over the place. The hotel staff know a direct route which takes about five minutes to walk, so call them before you go.

Grenoble is a beautiful town with much of interest to explore. Hotel is well located for access to public transport and centre ville. Staff are very friendly and helpful and can speak enough English to make it easy for English speaking guests. We thought breakfast should be included in the price and certain items, such as fruit, were not reliably available

We were spending Thanksgiving in Grenoble visiting our son who is studying at GIM. The hotel was located near the school, trolley stop, and downtown. Comfortable suite for my husband, daughter, and me. Beautiful views of the mountians from the balcony. Easy access to everything. Would stay again.

This hotel needs some help.

We stay here frequently as it is close to family. The desk staff whom we dealt with were very nice and helpful. We did not deal with other staff. The carpets are very dirty, both in the reception area and rooms-worse in reception. Sheets are not fitted as so are off the mattress during the night. Towels are not replaced.

Good, but they OUGHT to fix the AC system!

Overall, it was a nice hotel. Good location, very nice staff, clean. But they have some major terrible problems with air conditioning which I happened to be there during the 94F degree heat (34 C) and AC in the bedroom was not working. They were not able to fix it despite several complaints, although the very nice person at the front desk gave me a fan which made things tolerable. But hey, there is no excuse for AC problems in the summer! If I were to come back to Grenoble in summer months, I will not be staying at Hipark - only because of the AC issues. Would consider staying there in the winter though.

Always a good time at the Hipark. Staff is good , breakfast is good. I had the smallest room as option and the bed was actually an opened couch. But the price is very reasonable compared to other hotel in the area. It was a bit dissapointing but I knew it. The shwower is always leaky because its not completly closed, so water is on the floor sometimes, be careful. anyway Great location by the train station and good trip .

Why use a sofa bed?

The sofa beds, to me, are a waste of time. Who is going to to take off the linen and turn it into a sofa for the evening and then put it back at bed time? Not me. I would much prefer a normal bed. Breakfast is over-priced for what you get. The shower isn't very well designed - head is too small so you get a jet of water and having the tap in the middle of the bath means you bang your knee on it.

Great location in Grenoble. 5 minute walk from the TGV Train station in central Grenoble. Easy access to tram lines. Stayed one week in a quadruple suite with one double bed and one double pullout sofa. Both beds were very comfortable. The 2 room apartment was modern and clean. Kitchenette had 2 burners, microwave, kettle, small fridge, sink, dishes, glasses, pots, bowls, utensils. Small grocery store conveniently around the corner. I made my breakfasts and lunches there without issue. The apartment also had a desk, flat screen TV, and kitchen table with four chairs. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and tried their best to speak English when required. I have no negative things to say about this experience.

The room is clean, and the location is convenient for people who would like to go to the college near by(just a 3 minute walk away). Don't forget to ask for special rates if you are a student!

I reserved a room at this hotel because it's inexpensive, but this hotel was not worth the money. I've stayed in two other hotels in this area near the gare de Grenoble, and I prefer the other two. My bed was a sofa bed, which is not always terrible but in this instance it was pretty bad. When the maid cleaned the room, she took away all the towels, so I called the reception and learned that I had to dress and go down to the reception to get towels. In fairness to the reception, they have no help and have to do everything themselves. They are very polite, not warm, but polite, and very good with languages, but they can't do everything. The internet service, for example, did not work properly and the people at the reception had nothing to offer except to say that others had experienced the same problem. The hotel is located near the end of a dingy alley, and one might take care walking there.

A mistake

Our twelve night stay in the apartment of hipark Grenoble was a mistake:
1. The numerous reception staff is trained to receive the customers and their requests in a dramatization scene. Then you get lies! For example, they tell you: we'll greet you by parking your car in the garage... Then put a 10 Euro charge not only for your parking days but also for your full stay! They tell you: we provide full hotel services. Then, when you ask a out room cleaning, they tell you: we're surprised, it was not cleaned... We'll clean it every 2 days. Then nothing happens. You ask them again. They show the same shocked faces then tell you that cleaning will be weekly because of your long stay! Finally, they do not clean or change towels or linen and expect you to take your rabish down!
2. The room they claim accommodates 4 persons is only good for 2 persons. Maximum a couple with very little children. If the sofa is extended for sleeping, the room gets blocked, meaning that you can hardly go to the only WC next to the entrance.
3. The room allows no privacy
The furniture and the finishing, as well as the equipment are very good

From day one we were welcomed by the most friendly and kind members of staff. Very helpful, very friendly and yet professional.The rooms are located in a quiet street and there is no noise in the evenings/early morning.The bed is not too comfortable as it is a sofa bed but it didn't affect my stay that much. The room was not done properly for two days in a row. The shower was nice and powerful but the bathroom was not cleaned properly during my stay.

The facility is great. It is very modern clean and comfortable. The location is good, but it is also on the other side of the tracks from downtown where most of the restaurants and touristy stuff is. An odd thing about this hotel is how they charge extra for everything. This is the first time I have been in a hotel without coffee provided for free in your room. You have to go down to the lobby and pay for it. This is one feature I strongly did not appreciate. It is enough to keep me from recommending this hotel. With an overall high attention to details, it seems that such an inconvenience for such a basic comfort doesn't make much sense for a hotel of this quality.

Nice hotel, obscure location

The hotel was very new and very clean. Wifi worked well at times, but not enough for a VoIP call. We stayed in te executive suite. The kitchen had pots, pans, and silverware, though we did not use them. The neighborhood was not the greatest, though it did not feel dangerous. The hotel parking lot was closed because of water damage, but we found parking 3 blocks away in a garage for €18/24h. Finding the hotel while driving without a GPS was very challenging. There was a convenience store (toothpaste, etc.) about 2 blocks away. Can't comment on public transportation as we didn't use it. 20 minute walk to the funicular. The staff weren't too well informed about the surroundings (aggravated by French vacation closures), but were very willing to help.

Nice hotel with iffy location & indifferent staff

The hotel and room were nice. Clean & comfortable, but the staff did not appear very interested in helping customers. While they would answer questions it was as though you were interrupting some conversation even when there was no one around but you. Having never been to Grenoble before I can't speak for the whole town, but the area where the hotel is located is a bit sketchy. It's near the convention center, but the area had quite a seedy feeling.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hipark Grenoble Hotel. The staff was _very_ helpful and friendly.
They have quite limited parking spaces in the deep-level garage so it's a good practice to reserve one a few days before your arrival.
One more thing: even the sofa beds are comfortable too, you don't have to worry about them...

Almost Perfect Hotel

This would have been a perfect hotel but for a few quirks. It's an apart-hotel and has a microwave, hob, fridge and dishwasher. We were hoping we'd be able to rustle up a couple of meals in the evening. But there was only 1 huge pot and no cleaning equipment which seemed odd, although you could buy cleaning things for €8.
If you are staying less than a week the rooms are cleaned every two days - if you stay for a week then it's only every week which again seems strange. We were there for 4 nights and although the apartment was cleaned, it could have been more thorough. And as other reviewers have pointed out, the toilet paper was not restocked.
Finally the shower - although powerful and good - was in the oddest place; more than once we managed to flood the bathroom floor not through carelessness but just by having a shower!
In all other respects the hotel was perfect and if we return to Grenoble we would stay here again. Welcome air conditioning with outside temperatures of 30+, free wifi which worked well and a super comfortable bed. Reception staff were efficient and friendly.

Convenient to the train station and beautiful room

Love the place. The staff was very helpful with some issues I had with my pre-paid SIM card for the phone and went above the call of duty. Online, the room seemed smaller than real-life (I got a studio for the night).

If you want to be in the centre of town,...

Then you need to lock elsewhere. But if you want a very nice room, friendly staff, and accommodations for a longer stay, like a fridge and stove, and you're not nervous about being in an ethnic part of town, I recommend this spot! Toughest thing for me to adjust to was parking my car in the super tight basement (and getting the car there via the car lift)!

NICE AND NOT TOO EXPENSIVE

Nice and modern.
Room was a bit dark at night..needs a standing lamp or something similar.
The sofa bed was a bit of a surprise, but it wasn't bad to sleep on.
Room gets cleaned every 2nd day..you can pay for daily service.
3 or 4 English TV stations but all news/business
Internet was ok..VoIP calls weren't 100% but I've had much worse.
Location is great for where I needed to be. Walking distance to the train station..and not too far from restaurants.

Nice Hotel

It was a pleasant experience although I wasn't aware if you stay for 1 week they clean your apartment only once. So I said how about I book book for 3 days and 4 days maybe you would clean at least 2 times. It is a Residence and not really a Hotel so the cleaning has to be done by the occupants. Apart from this issue everything was splendid i went with my wife and we had a lovely view out the balcony, romantic beautiful mountains. the staffs were very friendly and excellent in their service. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Convenient for the train and bus stations with well equipped rooms and comfortable accommodation. The shower is something of a challenge and the hotel is not located in the most attractive part of town. But it provides a good and comfortable base.

Modern, Clean and Convenient Business Trip

The hotel appears very new. It is an apartment style so there is a sink and fridge and stove to save a little on dining out all the time. It is in an odd little cul de sac off a main road, so not much to view from the windows, but very nearby the main rail/bus station and the World Trade Center which gives easy access to any part of Grenoble. The staff was quite courteous and helpful. The layout is a little odd in that the commode is near the door, but the bath and shower are off the bedroom, which is not the usual layout in the US. All in all a good experience.

Good hotel but needs some improvements

I have stayed here many times and the pros are that very close to the station, bigger rooms, cheaper in price and the cons are VPN does not connect from their internet even complained them to check with their network team many times and also bit outside the town and each time you need to take a tram to get for food,etc. I would rate 4 stars apart from that.

Very helpful staff. Hotel is in a convenient location. The room was clean. Internet worked great. The only downside was the sofa bed. It was OK for a few nights. I would stay there again.

Perfect family accommodation for a self catering visit to Grenoble. Not far to walk from central train station even with suit cases, the train underpass is far from ominous as in previous comments have suggested. Ideal base to set off from (for a ski trip?), relaxed and refreshed.
