The location was good but the room lacked cleanliness, the comforter had stains on it, and the pipes in the room were incredibly loud it was hard to sleep at night. There was also a plumbing issue in the kitchen sink where old food came up when you ran the water.

This is a mediocre property with below-average service. It started poorly, with a locked lobby door that required a two-button click to get noticed by the hotel personnel. I did the two clicks sequentially, then simultaneously, but no cigar. So I called the facility, and a guy came out explaining that I did it all wrong because \"you need to do it sequentially.\"! Once in, and I was finally checking in, the rather unpleasant guy was droning on and on about complicated rules and conditions of the stay, penalties for losing keys, etc. I finally get to my room, and the flooring is orange linoleum, and really cheap and old, damaged furniture. Not recommended at all.

Parking 18€ is only offsite, not onsite. Strange noise initially when entered the room, but eventually noise this sound went away and night was peaceful, very quiet, despite next to elevator. Not a smart TV (does not support casting Netflix on it). Kitchen not used but seemed ok. Bath very clean, despite needing some refreshing.

Beware of the website!

Beware of the website: the rooms in the photos look bright and inviting; they are dark and dreary without a comfortable place to sit and with very limited lighting in the bathroom. The website says limited parking is available; it does not say parking must be reserved ahead of time (if not reserved then you are advised of the closest lot which costs 32euros/day. We found one a little further for 16). A coffee pot is provided however it uses a specific pod that can only be purchased at the hotel. And be prepared to listen to water running all night long - loud enough to disrupt sleep even with a pillow over your head. When I asked about it I was told it was the normal sounds of the building. If you can tolerate all the negatives, you’ll at least find the location to be good.

We were pleased with the size and cleanliness of the room, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and the hotel is located perfectly for Grenoble old town. Unfortunately the WIFI is extremely unstable, constantly disconnecting. It was strong when connected but it dropped out every 30mins, sometimes when we were streaming, so this then used our data. Not good enough in 2022.

LOOK ELSEWHERE

Have stayed in a number of these apartment hotels in France and this has got to be one of the lesser ones. First the hotels.com website says there is onsite parking and I messaged the hotel through hotels.com to make sure I would have a space as it was important to me. When I arrived I was told the parking is offsite in a commercial parking station about 200 metres away which isn't that far but with four bags and 40C heat when I arrived it wasn't an ideal start and the next two days it was raining slightly when I got back to the garage.
The room was very basic and the bed was uncomfortable and very low to the ground, much lower than in the photos on the site.
While the bed was low the shower required about an 8 inch or 200mm step up into it and was the tiniest shower I think i have ever used made even smaller by the fact that the mixer tap sticks out into the shower about 6 inches or 150mm and it was impossible to shower without knocking the control either turning the water off or changing the temperature. The internet was terribly slow. On the third night of my three night stay I noticed that there was no smoke detector in my room, the plate that attaches to the wall or ceiling was there but nothing was attached to it. I reported it that night and was told it would be checked and I mentioned it again to a different person when I checked out and was told that they were invisible smoke detectors.

I like the French apartment hotels but not this one.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities in the room are good. There is a microwave and 2 hot plates and a fridge, and a coffee machine and kettle. I only used the coffee machine and the fridge but appreciated that there were more facilities if I needed them. The shower works well and the water was hot.Very handy location, it was easy to walk to places of interest. There is a pharmacy across the road and a supermarket nearby. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. It is very easy to walk to the cable cars and also other cultural buildings. It is about a 15/20 minute walk from the train/coach station to the hotel. I did not use any public transport but they are bus stops and tram stops nearby.

Due to covid there is no breakfast buffet but there is a kitchenette (dishes, sink, fridge, stove). They put the breakfast in the fridge which was a good amount of food. they have a coffee machine/kettle in each room with coffee pods/tea bags/hot chocolate. Shower had good pressure.
All of this for a pretty cheap price!

It was in a great location and although it was in the centre of Grenoble it was quiet and peaceful.
The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were ther 3 weeks and the bed linen and towels were changed every week.
THe coffee maker was great but took up a lot of space. The fridge was large enough for 2 of us.
The shower was excellent and the bathroom was clean and sufficient.
Overall there was not enough space re: cooking. There could have been an extra unit/shelf/counter in order to prepare food and store food.
We had a few issues which were sorted very quickly.
Great time there and would happily return or recommned it to friends.

Easy access, 15 mins waking distance to the train sration & airport bus stop. Very helpful staff. Very good value price wise but it is a shame that they only put a single pillow per bed and the mattress is not comfortable (too hard & not thick enough). However, great shower water pressure. Make sure that you keep your towels and room clean yourself as there is no cleaning service unless you pay extra ( if your stay is less than 1 week). They did give us extra towels at no charge. It is in the heart of the city, ideal for shopping, restaurants & sightseeing. Overall, Happy with our stay there for the price we paid. Thank you to the hotel staff for a very good service.

We were at hotel for four nights. Location fantastic, close to the old town, reception, nice, friendly and eager to help. TV and WIFI worked well. Terrible Experience at the Residhotel Grenette

We had a terrible experience with this booking and ended up staying elsewhere for the night despite having made and paid for this booking.

We arrived at the hotel after a 10 hour drive just before 1 am. There was no one there to let us in - we saw that there were instructions on the door for check-in after 10pm. There was a number that we were supposed to call for late check-ins WHICH DID NOT WORK. We then searched around and found another number which somebody finally answered. Please keep in mind that this is now past 1 am in the morning.

We were on the phone with this person for 11 minutes (from our Canadian cellphone on roaming!) and had great difficulty getting instructions on how to get into the hotel. We finally managed to get an entry code to enter the premises and pick up an envelope with our room key. Once we got up to the room, the card did not work and we could not enter the room! THERE WAS NO ONE THERE TO HELP US!

My wife is 6 months pregnant, and tt this point, it was close to 2 am in foreign and unknown city and we had no choice but to leave and find another place to stay.

We ended up paying for 2 bookings for the night, not to mention the atrocious roaming cellphone charges.

Self-catering with minimal service

The size of the room was a lot smaller that was shown on hotels.com. In addition, the lighting in the bathroom was not practical. The only light is above the sink, which does not help illuminate the rest of the bathroom. Thus the toilet bowl had no lighting, and neither was there such light for the shower. I was expecting that the room would be serviced, but nobody came to make the bed nor even clear the garbage bins. Perhaps it was simply a misalignment of expectations. Other than that the condition of the room was acceptable and it is a choice if you want to do self-catering as they have all the cutlery, utensils, and even cooking equipment as well as a microwave. The location is also very central.

We ate at a restaurant across the street twice! Restaurant Lyonnaise- excellent. On request, the clerk moved us to an upper floor room so that I could keep the windows open as I get claustrophic without fresh air. Many parks and sights to be seen around the area. Loved the comfort of having my own refrigerator and microwave. Bad Internet, but it was free!

Good hotel with very good location in old town

Good stay for 3 nights in a two person studio. Location is excellent. Enjoyed the different things around old town. Staff was very helpful but problem resolution took its time. Room was good sized at around 20 square meters. Kitchen in apartment has all the essentials such as microwave, small refrigerator, hot plates and some utensils. Be aware the front desk closes during the day for a time and after 10:30PM. They also charged an additional 0.88 Euro tax per person per day upon check out. Thought the website payment covered all the expenses including any taxes. Had problems with room lock where the lock will not stay locked. Problem was worked on but the technician made all the keys not workable except their master key. Finally all is working on our last day when we had to check out by morning. Check out time is 10AM which seems very early. No maid service during any of the three nights stayed.

Reception doesn't open until 07:00, which is awkward if you have an early train. They insist on adding an 88 cent per day charge onto the bill rather than incorporating it into the room cost. It is such a trivial sum that this is really annoying, especially when they don't have enough change at reception to facilitate it.

Basic, comfortable studio, ideal for a budget, short visit. Great city centre location.
Would stay again and bring family.
