I would love to give a better review but so many little things spoiled it for us. First there clearly were 4 paintings on the wall but now only three and one hook in the wall. Then we checked the bathroom and some of the towels were dirty from the previous people. It had clearly not been cleaned from before. We had to ask for the room to be cleaned the next day. The toilet seat was wobbly and the button to flush it was dodgy and the toilet kept constantly flushing until you wiggled the button to stop it. The sink plug did not work and despite 3 requests to fix it and someone coming to look. It never got fixed so we spent the whole holiday without a plug in the sink. in the room there are no drawers. 2 side tables but no drawers to put socks and underwear away. We ended up using the wardrobe which was not ideal. Last of all and worst of all, no kettle or tea making facilities. I know we are in Rome and every drinks espresso but I like a tea and it is a hotel for tourists. It would have been nice to have a kettle and some cups. On the plus side they provided loads of toiletries, including sachets of bathroom for our room which only had a shower. If the hotel spent more time on maintainence and less on bath foam sachets for rooms with only showers I would have given a better review

The Code was a great place to stay. Its right nex to the Spanish Steps, it located conveniently between two metro stations so you can easily take the train from Roma Termini to the Spagna or other station. Its an 8 minute walk to Trevi Fountain. I felt safe walking around. The food at the hotel restaurant for dinner was top notch!

Fabulous location, 2 mins from Spanish steps, 15 mins walk from Trevi Fountain. Room was spacious and had a balcony where you could see the Spanish steps, breakfast was great. Was on a very busy road but this did not disturb sleep. Reception staff were really helpful. Didn’t use the spa but it looked great.

Boutique hotel with lots of charm.

We loved the charm of this hotel. Our room was very large. The jetted tub was amazing. We did have an issue with the hot water. Some times it was very hot and other times it was lukewarm. We also couldnt get the TV to stay off. Odd. If you want ice, it's €5 for a bucket. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great stay.

Excellent location at the top of the Spanish Steps. Right next to top tier hotels that cost 10x the price. Had double room with patio. Beds are hard but expected in most of Europe. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Free breakfast was the same daily but there was plenty of options and a great way to start a long day of walking and sightseeing. You can rent a Lime scooter and park in front of the hotel for easy access up the hill to the hotel. Don't forget to bring a international power converter. Guests also have access to the roof that has several seating options and has a nice view.

It was a good suite. The master bedroom was quite large and spacious. The other 2 beds in a smaller room were a little tight in space, with no windows. The hallways were narrow too but I guess that is the norm in EU. The bathroom was small but had all required amenities. Overall it was a clean apartment sized suite with a stone's throw away from Spanish Steps and very close (walkable) to restaurants and convenient stores.

The staff at the front desk was very courteous and friendly; always eager to help. Highly recommend for that.

You really have to be physically fit, as you have to go up and down the 132 steps (Spanish steps) to be able to access good restaurants and shopping area. The hotel is great, clean and comfortable, otherwise.

We loved that the property was in a really impressive location right on the spanish steps and were able to walk to most things. Some of the dining options in the area were a bit expensive and less authentic (more touristy) so we walked into Trastevere most nights. The hotel itself was lovely and very clean. We never ate breakfast or dinner in the restaurant as preferred to go elsewhere but the service was excellent

There was a tv in the room which we couldn’t figure out the local channels but signed into our own Netflix which was even better! Had a little mini bar in room which we used to cool our own drinks. The location was amazing as just a minute or two from the top of the Spanish steps so we walked to all the main attractions of the city.
There is a roof terrace as well which was a nice addition to relax on and read.

To improve it would have been good to have some kind of information pack in the room about hotel facilities (like the roof terrace and spa etc, and how to work the tv and hot tub) but we managed to figure stuff out ourselves and by asking the friendly reception staff. We had breakfast included which was nice enough but not exceptional-only cooked part was some bacon and eggs and not real juice. But certainly was enough to have a stress free start to our three days of exploring.

Fabulous location - 100 metres to the top of the Spanish steps. Reception staff were so helpful! Great size room with really high ceilings which created even more space. Only issue we had was we had to get reception to turn the telly on as issue with cables and couldn’t use it again thereafter. A coffee/tea facility would be ideal in the room.

This is a very comfortable hotel. The staff are friendly and happy to assist whenever required.
Our room was great. There was enough space for us four. A chest of draws or bedside tables with drawers would have been good for where the twin beds were.
Our room had a brilliant balcony. It really was a delight to sit out here. A couple of sun loungers would have been amazing.
The room was clean enough but the cupboard and a couple of furniture areas were a bit dusty. A slightly better clean would go a long way.
One thing that really would improve the experience would be a tea/coffee facility inside the room.
The restaurant area is large and comfortable. We didn’t eat there but had some cocktails in the evening which were fantastic, proper 5* cocktails!
We went to the spa too which was okay. At 35€pp for 2 hours I’d say it was a touch pricey.
Now the location - I’d say probably one of the best locations in the whole city. It is literally one minute from the World Famous Spanish Steps. Everything is walking distance and there are a million places to eat and drink.
I would happily stay at this hotel again.

The stay was absolutely brilliant at the Code hotel and I would recommend it to any one traveling to Rome. The staff were so helpful, the room was brilliant, plus the hotel is a 3 minute walk from the Spanish steps and a 10 minute walk from the trevi fountain !!

Me and my mate only stayed for a few nights, but we wished we stayed longer. 10/10

Hotel is in a fantastic location, staff were very friendly and nice, restaurant was great and convenient as it was raining often. 1 minute walk from Spanish steps, restaurants, cafes, and shopping.

Beds are firm but comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are very modern and clean. We could hear some random noises and people in the hallways from our room at night but it wasn’t bothersome. Would recommend to friends and family visiting Rome.

The room and bathroom are very clean and nice. All the staff at the reception area including the the food servers all did an excellent job. They were all very-courteous and accommodating. I give them an A for customer service. Very convenient, since most of the scenic sites are nearby including the shopping areas, restaurants and it only takes 5 min to walk to the train station.

Good location, but lacks in many areas, friendly and helpful staff. Was given a handicap room, and as a result of this, slipped in the bathroom and hurts myself as the shower has no walls and the water goes everywhere. Very dangerous. Rooms are small, and an inch of dust under the bed. The sheets had a sticker in them also.

The cab driver tried to rip us off by trying to charge us a metered fare when you have a special flat rate to the airport of $50 Euros. Charge $60 and collect an e tra $10 dollars. We had none of rhat and paid $50.

Overall, your hotel does not atand up to code and is nothing to write home about. I will not be referring your hotel.

On the plus side, the hotel is well located, just steps from the top of the Spanish Steps, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Our room was dark, with insufficient lighting and no light from outside since we had windows only to an inside airshaft. There were dirty dishes left in the room from the previous guests, the door was extremely hard to close, and the narrow halls outside our room were frequently crowded with housekeeping carts piled with dirty laundry. Breakfast was also pretty bad - limited choices, stale baked goods, and runny scrambled eggs.

This hotel has potential, but it needs some upgrades and a lot of effort to get there.

Enjoyable family trip to Rome

We had a great stay at the code hotel in Rome. My partner asked me to marry him on the roof terrace! We will come back for sure. This was part of a month long trip to Italy for our family summer holiday.
The room was lovely, very comfortable, the spa bath in our room was a highlight. Some things which could be improved- breakfast was inconsistent, every day things were in different places for example. Some of the staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful, others were exasperated and made us feel like an inconvenience.
The location was perfect! Close to the Spanish steps and trevi fountain.
It would be fantastic if there was a kettle in the room to make tea and coffee but that’s not usual in Italy. Even just glasses to drink from instead of plastic glasses.
Overall, we loved staying here! We loved Rome, would recommend.

The staff at the front desk assisted us to navigate our way to local hostorical sites. They were patienty and knowledgable. Similarly, the staff in the dining room were so welcoming each morning; a wonderful way to start the day.

Only downside was that the choices on TV were very limited and the software they have to stream TV content is user-unfriendly!

The location was prefect and the hotel decor was very nice. Number of the hotel staff was uninformed and were not helpful. The hotel stated that they had a restaurant and did not. They had a SPA but no one was attending it and there were no prices or a selection of SPA treatment available.The bar was only open until 9 or 10 pm but had no cover to protect the guest from the rain and the lights and air condition in the bar went off when the rain was heavy.
