The hotel is conveniently located across from the Star Medica Hospital where I had an appointment. It is in a good area with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby.
The room we stayed was clean however the amenities were lacking. The bathroom leaked whenever we showered and wet the entire bathroom floor. The towels were worn and faded. We got a balcony but had no tables and chairs on it and our room (we paid for the upgraded room btw) had no couch and table as advertised and one single chair. Luckily we did not spend a lot of time in the room.

This is a well located hotel with friendly staff. Good for medical visits and holidays to the Merida area. It is close to a very good mall too.

It's a traditional hotel with Concierge / Porters who help carry your bags and reserve parking spots for you in the hotel car park.

At weekends the hotel's two restaurants are full so sometimes parking is a challenge without their assistance, but at other times is readily available.

The hotel and the room was extremely dirty, to a point we didn't take our shoes off the whole time we were there because we didn't feel like walking on a grimy floor. The restroom was very dirty, rust everywhere. Communication was not easy with the staff. The beds were riddle with bedbugs --- we didn't sleep all night, including the kids --- we covered the beds with plastic sheets I bought from a store, and rested on that for a little. Next day we were out almost all day, only went to to collect our stuff, shower, change and leave for the airport 10 hours earlier! Horrible!

When we booked this hotel it was to include breakfast. After having breakfast and getting up to leave, they ran after us with a bill. Had breakfast not been included we would not have eaten at this hotel. In a city that has incredible food, their food is just mediocre at best.

Their parking is shared with local shops but we never had an issue finding a spot. I would stay there again.

I was aprehensive because there were so many negative comments. The hotel has two parts, one old and one new. We stayed in the newer part which might explain why our experience was good and others were not. I would recommend the hotel but see if you can't stay in the new part. After making the reservation, I asked for a king size bed. That may be why we ended up in the new part. As a negative, the sheets for the bed were not king size sheets. One the other hand, I think many of the negative comments were unwarranted. There were a few negative comments that were valid such as weak Internet and lack of electrical outlets. I would gladly stay there again.

For our medical trip to Merida, Meson de la Luna was the ideal hotel for us. The location, across the street from Star Medica Hospital, could not have been better. The staff was always gracious and accommodating, even with our limited Spanish, and our room was large, clean and comfortable. The quality of the cuisine in the restaurant was only outdone by the friendly and attentive waitstaff. Our expectations were exceeded. Recommended!

The hotel was very noisy. We stayed here after a cosmetic surgery procedure and the bed was very uncomfortable. Very few staff speak much English and we spoke very little Spanish, so it made it difficult to communicate. Staff seemed put out if asked a question. Not very friendly, but not rude either. I would not recommend staying here if you are non Spanish speaking Americans.

Look no further this hotel is so Great! The rooms are spacious and very clean! It’s the perfect location near shopping and great restaurants ! I personally stay there when needing to see my dermatologist at the hospital across the street . I have also stayed here while recovering from surgery . If coming from Cancun you can get dropped off next door where the ADO bus stop is !! Don’t pass this charming hotel up and fantastic rates on your room!!!

We stayed at this hotel on the recommendation of our Doctor as the hospital is directly across from the hotel. He said they were supposed to be accommodating to hospital clientele. After my daughter’s surgery she was supposed to keep ice on her face and sleep in an elevated position. I asked the bellman for ice and he said there was none. I then asked for an ice bucket and he said they had none. I then asked the person at the front desk for an extra pillow and blanket. He said he would send it up. An hour later with no pillow or blanket I called and he said the hotel had none. Not very accommodating for sure. The restaurant is pretty good but room service was not so great. We used it twice and each time we did not get what we ordered. Also no napkins either time. The service at the restaurant itself was always excellent. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The pool was nice and clean. Handy location for the hospital. Do not go there expecting an accommodating reception and you will be fine

Perfect location when traveling for medical reason

We traveled for medical reasons and this hotel was perfect! Easy to get to, very conveniently located across from the hospital. Service was great. One small inconvenience was the internet connection inside the room. This was unstable. But if you stepped outside, the connection was better. In any event, our stay was short but this hotel made it absolutely convenient and we had more time to enjoy a little bit of the nearby scenery.

The hotel is extremely clean and the rooms very comfy. The shower is amazing. The staff, as we waited for our luggage , we're not friendly at all. When they saw we were going to stay there, they warmed up. The hotel is very nice. The food at the restaurant was tasty but by the time it got to the room it was very cold. The refrigerator barely cooled it's content, warm beer is not tasty.the tv had a limited amount of stations. All in all it was good.

I have stayed at Meson de la Luna at least a dozen times in the past 2 years, mostly because it was across the street from Star Medica where I had a knee operation; but truth be told, I really got attached to this hotel and simply love their location. Besides, their prices are affordable, and their restaurant is commendable. It is situated in Alta Brisa, my favorite part of Merida because of the open spaces, less congestion and good bicycle training roads in that area. (I race competitively) However, if you are into culture, religion, old architecture, cathedrals, and a feel of the real Merida, Alta Brisa is not it, as it is a modern area and about half hour from the downtown area, more during traffic hour. However, it is only 100 pesos (US$5.50) in a Taxi or Uber.

Whenever I come to the city for medical care and doctors appointments I only stay at this hotel that is because they are very accommodating it is extremely convenient the food in the restaurant is very good room service is timely and the staff are wonderful here most importantly for me they are English speaking as my Spanish is very little they are very very friendly and open to conversation and I love talking with them it also makes my Spanish to get better each time that I'm here

Horrible experience from the time we walked in

They tried to charge is more money as soon as we got there assuming we had more then u people. Which we only have 7 people in 2 different rooms. They also did not have electricity for 7 hours the first day and no pool the second day. They did not accommodate for the horrible conditions. Our shower would flood while we showeres if we had water pressure at a good setting. We had to explain ourselves when we called for more towels because they did not have enough. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Ratings said 4.2 out of 5 totally WRONG.

We needed to stay in Merida in for 3 nights, and this hotel was just what we needed. The staff are helpful, and we found a front desk person that knew some English. This hotel has a helpful greeter at the door to open the door and welcome you in.
The only two drawbacks were:
1. the room key cards needed to be reprogrammed a few times.
2. A room only brings two bath towels.

Great Area known as Alta Brisa...

I operated my ACL & Meniscus at Merida's Hospital, Star Medica in October of 2015 and stayed at Meson de Luna for the very first time. I was quite pleased with the hotel and the area known as Alta Brisa, which is very clean and very safe. Hotel Meson de Luna is directly in front of the hospital, just a 3 minute walk on a non-busy street. You will save a lot on Taxi fare alone.

I have since returned to Merida nearly every single month for follow ups or to participate in Masters Bike Races and have continued staying at Hotel Meson de La Luna. It is my hotel of choice in Merida. There is a Masseuse on property and the massages are great. So is the restaurant, cafeteria and pool.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times with my family and have never had a difficult time. It's nice, good location etc. However, I would expect a hotel of this quality to pre-check reach room to make sure everything works. I booked prem. room and the ac wasn't working and the batteries in the remotes were used up. The girl from the front desk came up and tried to correct the ac implicating it worked. Well yes, it blew outside air in but that's not ac. It took some conviencing to get me another room which she did but in a very remote area of the hotel. This room had great ac but again, the batteries were dudds. I would think that the management would make sure ALL remotes have batteries , there cheap and last a very long time. Change refrgardless every 6 months. And, make sure the ac in every room works. That's free. I like this place nonetheless. Great breakfast . Staff does try to be helpful.

I operated my ACL & Meniscus at Merida's most recommended Hospital, Star Medica.

Hotel Meson de Luna is directly in front, just a 3 minute walk on a non-busy street. That is the main reason I stayed here. You will save a lot on Taxi fare alone.

The Alta Brisa Mall is also a 5 minute walk from the hotel with a wide variety of stores and many movie options at the Cinépolis Movie theatres. You can easily spend the better part of a day here.

This hotel was therefore a great choice at a good price if you are going to Hospital Star Medica, and when I return for follow ups, I will continue to stay there.

Enjoyable stay except for lack of WIFI in my room

Great location in Northern Merida, the area is called Altabrisa, This area is low noise compared to downtown Centro Merida, Meson de La Luna is right across the street from one of the best Hospitals in Merida “Star Medica”, and only one block from “Plaza Altabrisa” a fairly new large shopping mall with many restaurants and a variety of shops plus a Cinema, exercise center and a bowling alley. All the clerks spoke English and the maids did a good job each day.The draw backs were the pool was closed due to the construction of a new multi story Hotel addition which came with a lot of noise during the day, but it was bearable. The room I was in (404) only had -75dbm to -78dbm wifi signal which is not sufficient enough to maintain an internet connection, the connection was very slow and kept dropping out. I would have to go out into the hallway at times to get a connection. I reported the problem and the staff called a network engineer but the problem persisted for all of my 7 days stay. Concrete and steel is a hard medium for 2.4g wifi. I would stay again hoping they would improve the internet wifi signal, (wifi signal level needs to be checked at each rooms desk for appropriate signal levels and routers added as needed to increase the signal levels) Like most Americans I am very dependent on doing my business over the net each day.

Hot staff was very plesant and helpful. Great stay. The beds are great and there was a ceilig fan which was nice as we didnt need the ac on. Only negative was the last night a bunch of kids checked in late and were very loud running up and down the halls. Staff did nothing so we told them to quiet down and they did eventually. Restaurant next door is mot very good but there are several restaurants within walking distance and an oxxo next door so very convenient.
