Beware of this hotel. They double charge!!!

Do not book at this hotel unless you want to be double charged. After paying through Hotels.com they then turned around and double charged my stay again when I checked out. When I called to have my account credited for the double charge I gave them my itinerary number and they told me to send them an email with the credit request and they would credit my account. After three weeks I called back as my funds were not credited back. The man who answered the phone would not give me his name and was very rude and arrogant. I once again gave him my itinerary number and they stated that it was incorrect and hung up.

The fridge was locked, 4star hotels, and when I asking for explanation answer was to not spent a many for power???
But for Tesla cars on parking wasn't problem, the boss car is more than guest comfortable, shame on you?

Average hotel. I would say that you are paying for what you get. It is at the cheaper end and that is what the facilities are. No tea/coffee making equipment in the room, no proper safe, or fridge, basically it is 10-20 years out of date. No modern facilities you expect in most hotels. They seemed very short staffed. It was clean but basic. Could be a wonderful hotel if up dated.

No bed for our 8 year old daughter

We arrived at the hotel late in the evening and were checked in promptly. When we got to our room we discovered the additional bed requested for our daughter (to make it into a family room) was not in the room. I went to speak to reception and was told that as housekeeping had left for the day there was nothing that could be done. I was concerned there was nowhere for my daughter to sleep and raised this concern with the receptionist only to be told it was my problem! As it was late we had no choice but to stay and all sleep in the one bed. We left promptly the next morning cutting short our 5 night stay.

One night, passing in the area.

The good:
The hotel is nice and appears to be directed to businessmen. The surrounding is rural and very peaceful, even though it is just a few minutes drive from the heart of Stuttgart.

The down sides:
- some of the towels were stained,
- loud noises of other guests in the corridor at 4am woke us up,
- the coffee/tea spot in the room had a tiny sign mentioning that you will be billed extra for drinking the hot beverages (can't they supply complimentary coffee like other 4 star hotels?)

Nice hotel, friendly staff and very accommodating. We booked this hotel en route from the UK to Italy and this was a stopover when we decided we needed to stop for the room. We booked and were at the hotel within about half an hour but I’ll booking had not come through. The receptionist was very helpful and explained that because of the lack of housekeeping as it was 21:30 the family room that we had bought would not be able to be made up. The staff are really professional. The only downside, and of course a very important one, was that they do not have AC in their rooms!!! They provide you with fan, though (upon request). However, even when I asked for, they told me they ran out of it!!! Then I became sort of surprised and told them that I was told I would get one!!!
The night staff (as everywhere else) are different type of people; sort of unprofessional. The restaurant guys were really sweet and the reciptionist, especially the one who checked me in and out were really great. One of them could be a little bit unprofessional though.

We enjoyed stay. It was close to family we were visiting. We plan to stay on return trip. While checking in the Lobby was under construction, the mirrored ceiling was being demolished. It seemed like a hazard and a bit chaotic. Otherwise the hotel itself is clean and dated, the rooms are more modern and updated.

We do wish we'd not been held up by bad weather so that we could have arrived at a more reasonable hour, but the staff was extremely accommodating and provided us with a late check-out which helped us catch up on some much needed sleep. Nice hotel in the woods

Was travelling on business and checked in with my 2 other colleagues. We arrived 3 hours before official check in time but were offered our rooms in no time at all and with no fuss. The service was great at the reception Managers and colleagues. The hotel is located not far from Stuttgart town centre in a wooded area which is great for a peaceful rest. Plenty fresh air, and located in an area of natural beauty. The location is ideal for walks.

The health club is very well equipped and kept. the only thing missing is a swimming pool its got a good spa area. could also do with a jacuzzi.

The cons of this hotel are: No bath robes, no slippers, smoking area at the front of the hotel is not secluded enough to keep the smell from giving bad odour in the reception and entrance areas.

Its an out of town location and therefore a car would be most beneficial to fully enjoy. i am sure there are taxis.

i am definitely going back for a chill out, just to relax and get total time out!

This is a conference center resort, not a hotel. Not close to Stuttgart as Fodors claims. Staff superb always willing to help., . Great breakfast. Really lovely having people stand outside at a table smoking as you drive up. Front steps in foyer broken so really need to watch your step. if using the ramp for wheeled luggage it was always blocked by rolling racks. Physicality of place in serious need of updating. About a 15-30 minute drive to Stuttgart depending on traffic or it is a combo of busses and trains.

Dated and yet quite expensive

Whilst the first look is promising, the rooms are a bit tattered. Shower was leaking and the decoration in general good do with repair or replacement. Prices in bar are at the high end and the restaurant promises more than they can actually deliver. Average quality food. This come still at an ambitious and quite high price, which does not relate to the quality of overall service.

The staff is very nice and customer friendly and they deserve a better product to deliver.

Go out of your way to stay here. It's worth it.

This place was fantastic. Plenty of amenities to include Sauna, steamroom, workout room and a really good Restaurant. It is just on the edge of the forest and it was set in a beatiful Location. It is worth being a Little bit away from the Train Station. I would recommend going out of your way to stay here.

Ideal stop near Stuttgart. Very relaxing.

For me this is an ideal place to overnight when travelling across Germany. Its near to Stuttgart yet set in pine forests outside the southern suburbs. It has exceptional comfortable beds and adequate restaurant facilities.
I always get a good rest here in the quite of the woodlands
There is ample parking and underground garage if required.

Okay Quality for one Night

Rooms are old and the smell in the hotel weird. The staff at the reception was not very friendly. We only stayed one night and for that reason the lack of restaurants or activities you could reach without a car was acceptable. I would not recommend the place for a longer stay. The hotel is overprized considering it's condition and service.

We were in town doing some business with Mercedes and wanted a place to stay that was quiet and relaxing but not too far of a drive away. This place was perfect, very comfortable setting, traditional German, good restaurant, great staff, and an easy 20 min drive from downtown. I would definitely recommend a suite, it was only about 10 euro more than the standard room, but about twice the space.

Quiet Respite

We spent the day in Stuttgart visiting the auto museums. The Schatten was a welcome relief from the city traffic and noise. A full service hotel, we found the staff to be friendly and helpful to those not fluent in German. The cleanliness was superb, fresh quiet April air provided the rest we needed for the next day's activities. The restaurant and bar meant we could spend the evening without having to leave for good food and beer. Additionally, an extra room off of the bar, was set up to watch an important soccer match on the television. A very comfortable evening indeed - oh yes, the home team won!

This hotel was probably the best one we stayed at while in Germany. They did not charge us for parking or breakfast like the others. The beds here were like sleeping on the floor~ very uncomfortable. The hotel had a very nice restaurant attached and good choices for breakfast. The location of the hotel is very pretty, and is near a beautiful lake with walking trails.

The hotel and amenities are wonderful. Steam room, sauna, etc. Restaurant and bar are great. We were not anticipating the distance from the main train station to the hotel. It's about a 20 minute metro ride from the main train station, then a 10 minute bus ride from the University metro stop. Then about a 5 minute walk through the forest to the hotel. Once we figured it out, it was very easy, but this might be a better hotel to stay at if you have access to a car. Also, there is a great residential neighborhood within walking distance with a wonderful restaurant that serves traditional German food.

Great Stay, Very German

Great hotel, zero American tourists (so it's off the beaten path). Very friendly staff, eager to please. This is a German hotel in Germany, as opposed to a tourist hotel in Germany where you mind find a variety of nationalities. This is where German businessmen stay, where they conduct meetings, and where German travelers in general will stay. Around 3 KM north of the main sites around Stuttgart, particularly Patch Barracks. Easy drive south in the morning for meetings around town, easy drive north at the end of the day. Excellent FREE breakfast, good dinner menu, though somewhat limited. Room was neat and tidy, but not an American standard. Again, nothing negative. Comfortable bed, approximated a full size, just a bit smaller. Tub was narrower than a US one. Shower was a handheld sprayer mounted on the wall; standard in Europe, not so in the US. Plenty of hot water, all glasses were glass, no plastic. Fridge in the room stocked with beer, wine, snacks. TV looked like a computer monitor, had TV controls and a remote control. Business center gave you internet access, but it was a German keyboard (no touch typing, different keys and letter/character placement). Free wifi in the lobby, separate network available in the room for a fee. Free parking. Excellent experience, will plan to stay there again on my next trip.

Relexa (Schatten) - Nicest hotel staff in Europe!

My boyfriend and I traveled to Paris, Venice, Rome, Florence, Salzburg and Stuttgart...and out of all of the hotels, the Relexa near Stuttgart BY FAR had the most accomodating staff and best breakfast of any of the hotels we visited. Although the location isn't ideal if you do not have a car (which we did, so it was great!), the staff and service was certainly worth coming for.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found it very difficult to reach without a car. Although it’s conveniently close to the autobahn and surrounded by beautiful forest, it was quite an ordeal to navigate there on foot. I attempted to arrive at night, and the experience was honestly unsettling – the path was completely dark, and going through the forest without proper lighting felt quite scary.

If you’re planning to visit, I would highly recommend having a car, as it seems nearly impossible to reach otherwise. The location itself is lovely, but its remoteness and lack of accessible paths for pedestrians can make it challenging for travelers without personal transportation.

Super Empfang, hervorragendes Essen, Käsespätzle sehr zu empfehlen, Sauna sehr schön ( wurde jedoch 21.15 Uhr statt 22.00 Uhr abgestellt.)
