We stayed as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) with half board €39. Its not clear when you book that this doesnt include the children. You have to pay extra for them which is surely a nonsense, why would the booking system assume we wouldnt feed the children. There are good fscilities for the kids, tennis, ping pong etc.
Breakfast was shambolic with lots of things running out and the area being too small to cope with the number of families.
Overall it was a nice stay.

Pleasant stay at Orleans as stop off traveling mot

We stayed as a stopover on our drive back from the south. We have stayed a few times and it is very convenient placed close to the motorway. It is clean comfortable with a pleasant.
restaurant and a nice pool for a quick relax after being in a car all day.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Check in and putt very quick and efficient
Bed comfortable, hotel has been recently refurbished.
The service in the restaurant was a little slow.
Breakfast ok and coffee very good.

Wonderful hotel, despite disappointing menu!

The refurbishment of the hotel was excellent ( we have stayed every year since 2011 - often twice a year) the service was, as always, first class, BUT, I am afraid to say that the MENU offered for the evening meal was ‘disappointing ‘
The variety of meals was limited, based on our previous visits! I think ‘bland’ is a good description of what was offered to us.

Not liking the recent refit - now looks like a Legoland hotel. Gave the food a miss this year as overpriced for what is basically a pretty average meal. better to take yourself off into town and get a decent dinner. Very convenient place to stop off on the way down south. On the whole what you expect from a Novotel - Clean and tidy with comfy beds.

Everything in general was good but main complaint was that hotel was hot and we could not control the temperature, when we complained the next day they said that they turn off the climate control in winter only have the heater that is controlled by hotel and we should have asked for a fan, just by the hotel telling us that fans are available tells me that this is a common complaint. The other small quibble was that hotel was too far out of the restaurants delivery radius.

This is now an old Novotel.

I used to visit this hotel in the 70s/80s. Now looking somewhat ancient, recent refurbishment of the Bathrooms has apparently been carried out. No soap dished were installed, but the builders have been advised - someday.
The toilets definitely require rework!
The prices Accor charge for Novotels are now well above value - food is far too expensive for the \"man in the street\". £16 for breakfast is too expensive.
Accor are really for Meetings/Conferences.
I will not visit this well positioned hotel again

The hotel's staff was very nice and helpful.
The hotel is also far away from everything, not much around there at all.
The hotel is undergoing needed renovation and so the entire hotel unpleasantly smelled like fresh paint which made sleeping very hard and I woke up a major headache.

Nice hotel. Comfy & clean room. Although it had a bath it was very narrow so not easy to lie in it and wash so ended up using the shower !! Friendly staff who spoke english but we practiced our french with them. Had a lovely meal in the evening but didn't have breakfast as it was €16.50 each which I thought was too expensive so we stopped at the first rest area on the autoroute & had breakfast in the restaurant which only cost €20.50 for all 3 of us and it was very nice & freshly cooked for us.

The hotel was OK. Very clean room. Breakfast was fine also.
A great value for money. Good location, near highways in a much quit area. Very close the commercial areas with shops and restaurants.
The only problematic thing is the air-condition in the room. There is no really air-condition in the room. Just a hole connected to the main hotel air-conditioning system, and the cold air flow was very week. In addition, at 9pm they reduced the central air condition. So in the summer, in hot days you can't fill it. After speaking with the reception they brought to the room fans, which made the stay bearable.

So, this is a very good hotel for not hot days.

The hotel needs modernising. Bathroom fixtures are tired, shower over tub instead of walk-in shower. Carpets in room and corridors are old and stained. With exception of carpets, rooms are clean.
Restaurant is very good, buffet breakfast excellent. Exterior of building is scruffy, badly needs a coat of paint. Reception staff, indeed all staff very helpful.

Overnight success

This was an overnight stop over that worked well for two adults, a teenager and a golden retriever. We were there on a busy Saturday night in early September - after the summer peak but with plenty of others like us taking a night's rest en route from south to north. The hotel also does good conference business so we could have expected the service to struggle but the reception and restaurant staff did remarkably well to cope and thus outperformed many other hotels in this chain that we have visited in recent years. This is one of those low level Novotels where the corridors seem to stretch forever into the distance and the place is functional rather than comfortable. The decor is standard turn-of-the-millennium Novotel with that distinctive \"used-to-be contemporary\" styling that now looks rather tired. It's in an out-of-town location near enough to the autoroute to make it an efficient overnight stop but not somewhere where we should choose to spend more than a day. Big plus marks for free in-room wifi that really works and ample free parking despite the high occupancy and conference use.

My only negative comment is that you cannot control the aircon in each individual room and our room was way too hot when it had been 35c all day and mid twenties all night, making it very difficult to sleep!

Restaurant is buffet style and as you're in the middle of nowhere you are limited therefore with food choices unless you want to drive to a restaurant (we did but many were closed) eventually we ate in a chain restaurant as I simply don't do buffet meals that have been left out to fester for god knows how long.

The hallway leading to our room really smelled of damp and the decor is really tired and old.

Like lots of others, we used this as a convenient stopover on the way back from the south towards Calais. Easy to get to, well organised, clean etc etc. Good restaurant and pool/games area too. It won't win any prizes for character and the buildings overall are looking a bit tired on the exterior, but this was exactly what we needed otherwise.

Great for those with kids.

We had a 7 year old and 9 month old in tow, and the Novotel could not have been better for us.

We stayed a few nights here, to break-up the journey from London down to the South of France (and did the same on the way back).

From the little children's gifts on arrival, to the kettle in the room, to the family breakfast restaurant (with kid's activity area) open at the weekend, every big and little detail of this hotel had been thought about from a \"travelling with kids\" point of view.

Very out of town hotel

I had planned this as the overnight stop driving back from South of France. So I was fine with the out of town location. upon Arrival and checking in we asked for a quiet room so we can catch up on asleep before driving again tomorrow. We woke to the sound of drilling, and hammering and construction work noise very early in the morning. After repeated phone calls to the hotel staff the noise carried on. We complained and asked for refund but was told this was not possible and in the end, luckily I had an Accor club card, and so they refunded 2000 points onto the card. The room is basic and the bathtub is quite small. Overall it was clean.

We chose this hotel for the secure parking and cause it was dog friendly -- on both accounts excellent result .Gates were locked overnight and the grounds of the hotel were securely fenced so excellent for our dog to run around among the trees at the back .

Excellent stopover choice with one minor downside

This is the 2nd time we have used this hotel for a stopover on our way back from south of France to Calais. We returned for a 2nd time not only because of its location, but also the fact that it has a secure gated car park. This was important to us as we had a bike rack and luggage on/in the car and didn't want to have to worry about security. Another bonus is that there is a very cheap petrol station on the way from the motorway to the hotel. Be careful not to miss it as its not easy to get back to if you do, and the one over the road on the return journey is much more expensive, probably for this reason.

There is Tennis and table tennis, as well as free wifi.

The menu is OK, but the only reservation I have is that the drinks are extremely expensive. For example, beer is over 7 euros for a 500ml glass. To add insult to injury, the French are keen to include a large head on the beer, and even though there is ample room for this above the 500ml line, the bar person still managed to deprive me of another 15mm height or so of beer, and was most upset when I called them on it.

So all in all, recommended as long as you don't buy too many drinks, which you shouldn't if you are on a stopover :)

A great place to break our journey

We were driving from the Dordogne to Calais and wanted to break our journey - we stayed at La Source two nights. We arrived late, after a difficult drive; the staff were brilliant - welcoming, multilingual and informative. There was food available, our family room was clean and comfortable, there was free wifi and even an X-box in reception for the kids. Outdoors there was tennis, petanque and a pool - practically a resort!

We always stay here en route to the South.Our reservation could not be found on arrival - it was located once we got on the phone to Hotels.Com - worrying moment! Dinner service was VERY slow as a large group was in (well it seemed large but only 6-8 it turned out!). We were in no rush so not a real problem. Duvet on bed was very hot for this time of year. Otherwise we like the place - very convenient - just check in, eat, sleep and leave.

Satisfactory, the staff were very helpful, the food was good and I slept well, the place was a little isolated but as I was on a business trip I wasn't too interested in sightseeing.

Great hotel for family

Stayed overnight en route to the Dordogne. Very close to motorway so didnt require big detour. Great hotel, super for families. Kids corner is great on arrival. Reckon it would be super in the summer with outdoor swimming pool and outdoor playground.
