A fantastic base to explore Tokyo from. Only 2 stops on the excellent train network to reach Shubiya( 5 mins). Hotel is 5 min walk from the station. Plenty of restaurants in Sangenjaya to choose from. The main street has a smaller town feel to it. Hotel is friendly and comfortable. Rooms are small, but have all amenities.

In your description of this hotel, it MUST include that it is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties. The access to the hotel on the second level is a steep stairs from street level. No elevator to the hotel entry; must drag up luggage and bags. Rooms are very small with a 12\" step up to the bathroom. The tub is also very high which makes it unsafe to climb into. Although the location is convenient to shops, restaurants, train station, we would not return there or recommend it to others.

The rooms are too small. I was given a room that hadn’t been cleaned and turned yet. We had to go back down and ask for a new room. The rooms give you no where to set down a suitcase and open it. Suitcases had to be opened on the beds daily. Overpriced imo, there are better hotels near Shibuya which is only a short train ride away. They charge this rate because they’re the only hotel in the area. Pick an Airbnb it’s cheaper and you’ll have more room to live in a space when visiting.

The hotel was very conveniently located for our needs, the staff was great, many of them could speak a little English, which was very helpful. The rooms looked a little old, but it was clean.
My biggest complaint are the stairs going up to the front desk. It is very steep, and this is the only way to get your luggage up there.
Exiting the hotel with luggage is much easier as you can catch an elevator all the way down to a back exit only, where our taxi picked us up

The location was excellent - felt like we were hanging out with the locals and a 4 minute walk from the rail station. Food and shopping around the area was cheap and plenty, there was a coffee shop and a patisserie within 150 metres of the front door for breakfast, as well as a 711 close by and local minimart next door.
Getting up to the hotel was a bit of a challenge with suitcases as there are about 15 VERY steep marble steps off the footpath to lug your suitcase up.
The staff were very polite and helpful - and available 24 hours a day.
The rooms were very small, and be careful of wording when you book your room - we booked two large twins for 2 adults and an 11 year old who is adult sized which was allowed on lastminute, but found two single beds, and no room for one of us to sleep on the floor once our suitcases were open. The bathroom was a big (80cm) step up from the room into the bathroom, then another step up into the shower over bath so anyone with mobility issues would have struggled.
The hotel itself, while old, was clean and comfortable - with vending machines opposite the lift with beers, highballs and soft drinks, and the lobby had free coffee making and donuts at night for guests, plus complimentary toiletries to collect from the lobby desk if you'd forgotten anything.
Overall the hotel was great, and as we weren't in our room except to sleep at night, we put up with the bedding situation as the price was awesome for 5 nights.

One of the cheapest I could find.. Only 10mins train from Shibuya BUT hotel in a very Japanese style town, old and new.. So many eating and drinking places.. So much more real than a central city location.. So clean and comfortable, rooms adequate in size.. However if coming to this wonderful country, you don't want to spend all day in your room.

Access for travelers with large heavy suitcases was not immediately obvious when checking in. The front entrance was up a steep flight of stairs. Access could be obtained via back entrance around block but this is not easily seen. Rooms are very small but do contain everything needed. Nice area, lots of eating places nearby and easy access to train station 2 minutes away

The Sangenjaya Triangle

The b in Sangenjaya is a great budget option in a fantastic area of Tokyo, only 10 minuets from Shibuya station. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, making up the room everyday.
Checking in and out was seamless and the free coffee in the lobby was surprisingly strong.
So if you want to get lost in the Sangenjaya Triangle and stumble back to a hotel, the b is a great option.

This might be a place for someone younger with an adventurers heart. The room was extremely tiny, couldn’t even fit my luggage properly. It was a clean tiny place. Bed was not comfortable. Bathroom was tiny, tiny, tiny. Capsule like. Felt like I was punished. Looked for other hotel alternatives after the first night and most were overbooked and overpriced. Never again. Place was clean and surrounded by neighborhood stores is the only positive.

Exactly What I Wanted

I had a great stay at The B. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and tidy at all times and my room was cleaned daily with no issues. As I was staying at the hotel alone my room was on the small side, but the room had a good bathroom and comfortable bed, with a kettle and fridge, so it provided me with everything I needed. The local area was great - good bars and places to eat, and the hotel is situated a minute or so from Sangenjaya station which is very convenient and only 2 stops from Shibuya. I recommend this hotel to people looking for a stay in a good area of the city and close access to the main sites and attractions of Tokyo.

The room was very tiny although all amenities were available. It's not a good bargain for the price I paid. The worst thing was that the bathroom stank badly (literally) for some reason. The cleaning staff knocked and rang my bell despite the \"Do Not Disturb\" sign was displayed on the door. I would have been satisfied if the price had been more modest.

Reasonable hotel I'm a great location.

Myself and my wife really enjoyed our stay at the B. The best part for us was the location. Sangenjaya is small enough to become familiar with after just a couple of days and became a really nice place to retreat to after long days of buzzing around Tokyo. It's also big enough to have some great little bars in the triangle. We didn't try many restaurants in Sangenjaya but the ones we did were ok. There are many 24 hr shops/super markets near the hotel, as well as the carrot tower which is worth a free visit. Sangenjaya has the charm of feeling a little bit off the beaten track for tourists and feels a bit more like real life Tokyo. The Hotel is nothing special, the rooms were small but clean and the staff were friendly. The great thing about the hotel is that it is just a short walk from Sangenjaya station, which is really convenient for a connection to the brilliant, bustling Shubuya and from there the yamanote line connects you to the rest of Tokyo on a Jr pass. The Jr pass doesn't cover the train between Shubuya and Sangenjaya so we purchased a pasmo card and paid using that (400¥ish) pp each way. Overall the hotel was good value for money and even with the extra train costs it seemed to be cheaper than staying in the more popular districts on the Yamanote line.

Quiet place away from busy Tokyo

I stayed a week in this hotel which is placed by Sangenjaya station. Overall stay was nice a bit on the right side for a tall dude like me. Convenient travel, many restaurants around, mostly locals on the streets and good necessities in close proximity. Pretty satisfied with the stay and would definitely stay again.

As like most of Japanese hotels, room is very small.
But room is very comfortable.(except for little cold)
You can see Skytree, Docomo tower in the room and night view is wonderful.
And staffs are very kind and helpful.
Many restaurants, convinience stores around here and supermarket(SEIYU) is very close. You can get all you need things around this hotel.
I think this hotel is very good choice for Tokyo traveller.

Not much to say about this place. When we arrived after midnight, rowdy group of Japanese guys were yelling in the lobby and no one seemed to want to tell them to quiet down. Then we went to the 6th floor and could still hear them in the hallway. The hotel is basic, but being that this area is cool and doesn't have many hotels it's one of the better options. I wish people would make more hotels in this area, but I think the local residents are pretty against it. Bed was comfy. I liked the free coffee and that there is no curfew (also something that other Japanese hotels could learn from!)

A brilliant hotel and so well located to everything. A short distance (2 stops away) from Shibuya. I really must commend the hotel on its comfort and cleanliness. The rooms are small but this was not a problem, as we were out all day. It was great to come back to the sanctuary of your room after being out all day. This is one hotel that was great for it's price and amenities. We will definitely return. Thankyou for a memorable stay.

Typical Japanese size room with all the things you need but in an incredible location between the madness of Tokyo and the quiet suburbs of Tokyo in all their glory.

The extent the staff go to is awesome. I had wet clothes from the morning rain hanging in the room. I went out for the day. The cleaning staff turned the heater on to high And hung the clothes near the heater. When I returned the clothes were dry.

Good for single person short stay

I went to Japan on my own and the hotel was perfect for a one person stay. The staff were helpful and very polite, they even gave me extra cosmetics before I went to my room. The size was good for one person, it may have been a bit of a squeeze for two people. The bathroom was very small but as I am also quite small myself I did not mind. For someone who is larger, it would be a problem. The bed was large and it was very comfortable. They offer two kinds of pillows, soft and hard already on the bed for you. There was sufficient table space and other storage spaces for the user. I think the only problem I had with the hotel was the wi-fi speed. It's only really fast enough for basic messaging on your phone and casual use.

Affordable, convenient, but the bathroom size...

I stayed in a Premium Single room. Small room but enough space to walk between the bed and the desk! Big bed, a little too firm for my liking but plenty of pillows. Closet and drawers to hang and store your clothes with a nice view of Tokyo. The staff were very friendly, helpful and multicultural! My only two issues were the steep flight of stairs you have to climb with your baggage to get into the entrance and the super tiny bathroom. If you are tall or husky or both, it is a struggle getting in and out of the bathtub without hitting something and you have to use the toilet sitting sideways. Even for a Japanese unit bathroom it was too compact. I had planned on staying here again on my next business trip but cancelled my reservation because of the bathroom size. Zannen!! The hotel is in a great location in a neighbourhood I've always loved.

just a brief stop over in Tokyo for me but this hotel was well positioned near to metro stations and also in a part of the city where buildings are not so tall giving a different ambience. There is a nice walking route nearby (turn right out of entrance, going left takes you towards the freeway area) OK, it is Tokyo, so you're still in a big city but given that, the location was pleasant enough. I've stayed here before and would do again. The staff are always very pleasant and normally speak english well. Breakfast is a buffet offering both Japanese and European style food, worth getting that included in your stay, good value for money.

helpful staff, clean rooms with good shower and toilet cubicle. Room size usual for Tokyo...not big ! That said, if you want a comfortable clean base when In Tokyo then this hotel is very good. The breakfast is worth paying the extra for as it is varied (Japanese/European) and you can choose what and how much you want. The neighborhood is also not quite what you would expect with a nice suburban feel in one direction (not so many tall buildings), with a really good spacious footpath nearby with some nice landscaping in places.
